In a town that boasts it's the most haunted in the USA, there are surprisingly few ghosts and an abundance of witches. All that is about to change for Waresville, Florida, because the ghosts are moving in. And who knows when they'll be moving out. All over town, people are being visited by long dead loved ones-some are even surviving the experience. Tourism is picking up, and so is the little town's outlook on life. Unfortunately, not all these specters have honorable intentions, and it becomes clear that there is something more going on here than just a happy, lucrative coincidence. There may even be something sinister afoot in Waresville. In comes Harper Foxx Beck, the grooviest detective that Waresville has ever seen. Between running her own disco skate, moonlighting as a witch, and mellowing out on all the good vibes, Harper solves crimes with her hunky police detective fiance Wyatt Bennett. There's a pair that not even an army of ghosts can contend with. Or can they? As the two investigate the rash of spooks popping up all over town and Harper takes on her first client, it becomes clear that there's a very powerful someone behind the supernatural activity. Can Wyatt and Harper figure out who's behind all this before he or she puts them out of business permanently? With literal ghosts from the past and painful memories at every turn, this mystery may be too much for their relationship to handle. Novella (approx. 40,000 words). Third Volume of the Harper "Foxxy" Beck Mystery Series. It is a standalone (reading prior or future volumes not required to enjoy the book, no cliffhanger)."
Foxxy has previously battled witches and werewolves, but this time she comes up against an evil ghost. Not that she knows it at first, when ghosts start showing up all over town. Some familiar and some not so much. With so many suspects, both living and dead, Foxxy really has her work cut out for her. She and Wyatt work together which is great as he is usually trying to stop her from getting involved in dangerous cases. Her father also turns up but we don't get to see as much of him as I would have liked, hopefully he'll turn up again in a later book. As usual it was over far too quickly, I would love for these books to be a bit longer!
Attending a funeral is never fun but this one ended by the couple seeing a ghost. Things got even stranger when ghosts started showing up around town and an old gypsy woman offered to tell them their future. Worse the ghosts were getting physical, trashing the sound system at the rink, throwing computers out of windows and making one young girl's life a misery. With several attempts on her life and the young girls, she knows that she has to fight fire with fire. Plus Wyatt is keeping his past secret even though it is tearing him apart. Can she learn what he is hiding? Can they trace the source that is fueling the ghosts? Can they send them back? A really good read with a nice tight plot but it would have been good to have a bit of humour thrown in.
I have fell in love with these types of cozy witch mysteries. Her name is Harper and she owns a roller rink. The author does great writing describing the characters and story, which flows seamlessly. Great Reading Everyone!
This was an entirely entertaining edition to a fun series. Harper, a non-practicing witch, is approached by a woman wanting to hire her to find out who is stalking her. Since her disco roller-rink has been vandalized Harper figures she could use the job and the money. Things are never that easy for her though. It turns out the town has been overrun with ghosts and she enlists the help of her fiance Wyatt to help her find out how and why this happened. With humor, suspense and a lot of broken bones they try to get to the bottom of things. A gypsy shows up in town and also gives them help. The ghosts create plenty of havoc before they finally begin to figure things out. The ending is a real twist and it is a fun and suspenseful ride. It was interesting to get some of Wyatt's history and the family dynamics are starting to settle in for Harper, Wyatt and Cooper. Waiting for the next book "I received a free advance reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest & unbiased review."
This is a great book; this is the eighth book in the Harper Foxxy Beck series written by Raven Snow. In comes Harper Foxx Beck, the grooviest detective that Waresville has ever seen. I have read every book in this series and each one is full of fun, mystery, danger and humor. Spooky Moves follows this formula with some surprise twists & opens up some new lines of questioning with some new characters that I'm looking forward to seeing where they lead. Not only is she seeing them, but most of Waresville is, also. When the mayor's dead mother trashes his office and another vengeful ghost takes out the Funky Wheel's sound system, it is up to Foxxy to solve the mystery. Who is the mysterious robed Madame Mystic? Is she behind the return of the spirits of Waresville's residents? If she isn't, who is? We learn more of Wyatt's past, why Cooper's mother left,See Foxxy use her powers, and see Foxxy & Wyatt try to decide whether to stay together or split up.
Harper “Foxxy” Beck takes on her first client. Hired by a woman that is being haunted and stalked by a mystery ghost. Foxxy finds out that once she makes contact with her client ghosts come out of the woodwork , literally. Now the Witch has to learn how to deal with this supernatural plethora of haunts. The thing is they aren't just haunting they are starting to get dangerous. Consider though that this sharp W itchy detective knows her magic , keeps a werewolf for a pet and is engaged to a police detective you can begin to see that action is going to get real. This is one spooktactular story that is fast paced with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing until the very end.
Our sassy heroine is back and this time there's a town full of ghosts, secrets in her beau's past and a strange girl in town looking to hire Harper to help with her creepy ghost stalker. As always the mystery will keep you flipping pages almost faster than your Kindle can keep up and Harper's signature with is rolling by even faster. But the biggest thing I came away from this book thinking is WHO IS MADAM MYSTIC? She draws that kind of reaction from Gran, she's gotta be somebody major. I can't wait to finally find out. Finally, Ms. Snow has produced the ultimate Foxxy story, and lived up to the potential we all know is in there! This is the best story yet, and with a truly spooky ghost or two as everyone in town is haunted by their worst fears. Foxxy and Wyatt are finally getting to know each other so the character development is off the charts in this book, and the plot finally turns fully supernatural as advertised. This was a great story and I'm hoping Foxxy stays in touch with her paranormal self in the coming sequels.

Nothing, because these books are AWESOME! This whole series has been great so far. The author has not seen fit to kill off any beloved character. (Hope she NEVER does!) Every character in this series is someone who begins to feel like a loved friend. Foxxy is a quick witted, snarky person, who you can't help but like, even though some of the things she does is not something an adult so promote.
I did not see that one being the villain of the piece. Plenty of choices for the baddie in this episode and a suggestion that Harper buys shares in the hospital.
