This book was was entertaining enough...but I just felt like I've been here before. I think I've read so much MC romance that they are all starting to run together.

So take this review with the proverbial grain of salt.

Straight up though, I most likely won't remember this book by tomorrow.

What I WILL remember though is that it employed virtually every MC romance cliche I have come to expect from, well, MC romance books.

Case in point...

1) The "Reformed" MC Club

It seems like the vast majority of biker books employ this element.

The badASS MC club - the Savage Disciples in this one - which at one time was involved in truly bad and illegal shit (which is rarely fully outlined by the way) has an overhaul of leadership and membership and now - instead of being actual badass 1-percenters - is "mostly" clean and on the straight and narrow.

description

Now their "mostly straight and narrow" is always discussed vaguely, mind you. We are supposed to accept that they are badasses...

...and yet "clean" and mild enough for the average romance reader to find palatable.

But back to what I was saying.

2) The Road Names Ace, Tank, Stone, and Gauge

description

I can't even tell you how many books I've read with these exact road names LOLZ.

Usually there is a also some form of "Taz," "Jagger" or "Snake/Viper" as well.

In this one we have Daz instead of Taz, Jager instead of Jagger, and Stitch filling in for the reptiles.

3) And, of course...

Of COURSE.

What would any book be these days without the "required" BDSM element.

description

Holy eye roll, people.

You know what?

description

Not every single book has to have BDSM in it.

I mean, my God LOLZ.

Being that this thing had all that going for it, can you guess what I was waiting for?

description

Why not add a menage scene to this kitchen sink, no?

LOL.

Now, don't get me wrong, this book was decent enough...In fact, being that it's available via KU I might check out book one and two...although I would have enjoyed this one a lot more had the connection between the H and the h been more palpable for me.

If you haven't read a lot of MC romance, you will really enjoy this.

If you are like me, however, and have read a LOT of it...this one won't stand out from the pack in any way. Regardless, it was a solid 3-star and I will give this author another go.

ARC kindly provided by Ardent Prose.

Engage is the third book in the Disciples' Daughter series and even though you can read it as a standalone, I highly recommend to read the books in order to fully enjoy this.
I haven't read the first two books and at times, I did feel like I was missing the background story, especially when it came to secondary characters.
I will rectify this error and read the first two books ASAP.
If you like MC romance with a lot of twists and turns (plus a little BDSM bonus) you will love this!

Engage was another enjoyable read in this series but definitely my least favorite. I really liked the story and I enjoyed both Jager and Ember. I just felt the connection between the two was missing for me. I felt Ember had a better connection with Ace and the girls. The connection she had to Jager was strictly sex. The turn around wasn't till 74% and to be honest I still didn't feel anything. With that said I'm looking forward to more in this series.

So this is book three in a series of standalones yet I don’t feel like I knew enough background to fully enjoy this book. There were numerous characters that I had no idea where they came from or what their back stories were. Having said that its not a bad book Im just one of those that wants the entire backdrop before I move forward.

Ember has been kidnapped in the middle of the night. After she is taken she convinces her captures that the Disciples MC will pay top dollar for her. The men not wanting to tangle with an MC bring Ember to the club and sell her back for a hefty price. Her plan must have worked when Ember wakes up at the clubhouse not knowing how she got there.

Jager has no idea who the woman is that the men brought to him. They claim she told them the MC would pay top dollar for her. Not knowing who she belongs to he pays the price. Finding out Ember is the daughter of one of the Founders, he starts playing babysitter for the girl. Trying to keep his feelings at bay he dives into a world of unknown vowing to find out who took her. There is also lots of skeletons hiding in this man's closet. He has a past that drives him to close the world out.

This book holds suspense and lots of twist and turns. However again I didn’t read the first two books so I felt a little lost at who folks were. If you are reading this series Im sure you will love it as the characters are a mystery and well written.

Thank you for the ARC Drew. Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets.

So I stayed up super late to finish this book, I just couldn't put it down!! I actually came across the first book in this series a few days ago and then was gifted an ARC of this book. The first one I loved and this one I loved even more. Let's start with Ember, this girl goes through something so scary and crazy and something every girl kinda fears happening when your out by yourself. I couldn't imagine what she went through. But the author makes it seem so very real. And then she mentions the Disciples MC and when she wakes up that's where she is. Which is where Jager comes in. Member of the MC and so beyond messed up by his past. But really after what he's been through who wouldn't be closed off?! He knows a way to help them both put their stuff to the side. And they continue with that for awhile both knowing it will go nowhere beyond that. Then he wakes up and realizes there's more to them than he thought. I loved the fight in Ember she wasn't the typical "oh poor me" heroine. This book will definitely be added to my re-read pile.

After reading the first two books in Drew's Disciples Daughters series, I couldn't wait to read Ember's story. And holy hell was Jager just too freakin' delicious. He's a sizzling hot bossy biker man who most definitely revved my engine. I fell head over heart in love and lust with him. I loved that he wanted to protect her from the first moment and risked everything to keep her safe. I loved that naughty talk that came out of that mouth. Get out the fan and ice water because you will most definitely need it with how scorch these two are together. I loved getting to see the rest of the MC family surrounding them and can't wait to read more of this series.

I give Engage 5 hearts!

ARC received in exchange for an honest review

This is not my usual MC Book.

Both characters are two broken people.

Ember went through something so terrible, one of a women's worst nightmare and Jager had such a troubled past that he has cut himself off emotionally from people and just lives for himself and his club.

They chemistry between these two are explosive and the sex was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

Definitely a good read and a good story!

Reread 3/26/17 - Review added.

Engage was the third book in the Disciples Daughters MC series by Drew Elyse. I loved this series and Engage was no exception. I was captivated from beginning to end.

And I loved everything about Jager and Ember. Both were beautiful and sexy. Jager was smart, intense, and uber alpha. Ember was sassy and strong.

The storyline was action packed filled with suspense, healing, restoration and love. Additionally Elyse continued to fully develop all characters - past, present and future within the series.

The only downside was the numerous editing errors. Without the errors, it's a five without question.

I reread Engage in preparation for Ace's story in the next book in the series, Ignite and I can't wait!

***Read with KU***

This wasn't my favorite so far, but I did enjoy it. It did take me a bit to become "engaged". We don't find out right away Ember's connection to the club, so there was that bit of suspense. We do know what happened in Jager's past because of the previous book, but it took him forever to share it with Ember. I just didn't connect with them as a couple for most of the book.

One thing I freaking loved.....that book scene of Sketch! LOVED it.

I will definitely read more of this series.

Good but...

I liked the read, but the pet, collar, and flogging just didn’t seem to fit the MC storyline to me. It seemed to be included because it’s a popular topic. Oh well. It was a good read.

Wow. Damn I do seriously have a weakness for MC’s but Drew Elyse is has honestly fast become one of my firm favs. Having read the first 2 books in the Disciple’s Daughters MC I’ve been waiting rather impatiently for #3 – Engage – Jager’s story & fuck me it was soooo worth it. This book packed such an epic punch – an utter onslaught of emotions, that once it sunk its sharp little claws into my soul, I knew I was ruined - it was never ever letting me go.

Seriously – OHHH THE FEELS!!! The entire story was so emotionally raw, powerful, sexual, explosive & tense, that it owned me literally from the first pages. Hard hitting from the off, I became so quickly invested in this storyline & the characters, that I just couldn’t put it down.

Ember is beautiful, strong & feisty. She is the daughter of one of the Disciples’ & although she wasn’t raised physically in the Club compound, she still her father ways – which she is proud & grateful for. Little did she know that she would be taken & the only thing that would potentially save her would be making sure her captors knew she belongs to the Savage Disciples.

Waking in a strange room & then confronted with the powerfully imposing body of a man she can’t tear her eyes from, leaves her scared & confused, but ready to fight - that is until she realises while staring at this beautiful man, that the MC have saved her. What she doesn’t realise is that this is just the start of her nightmare & distractions can be dangerous. She yearns for Jager & the power he holds, needing the feeling of utter submission to find the peace she so desperately craves. It was meant to be just sex, no emotional strings attached. So why does her heart want more.

Jager, fuck I loved this man hard in all of his damaged, broken, tortured ways. He is ravaged by the past, a one that has held him prisoner for most of his life. He can’t talk about that tragic night, - he can’t deal with the emotion, anger & rage that consumes him. Instead he has become a monster with a thirst for power, violence & dominance. His heart is cold; he knows he will never love or care for anything but the club - until Ember. The girl who sets him on fire, who’s beauty ignites his senses & consumes him whole. He can protect her, but he can’t be her saviour. Determined his darkness will always over shadow her light, he refuses to see what the rest of his brothers already know – he’s done for. Can he let her go, or will she be the one that he finally tears down his walls for?

OMG their journey is hard, painful & raw. At times, I seriously held my breath as the plot twists unfolded & then others I cried for this perfectly broken couple to accept the love they each had to offer. Drew’s character development was brilliant as she led me on a journey of discovery with them, stripping back their defences & showing just how vulnerable, even the strongest can be.
And seriously – have I mentioned the sex?? Gawd Jager what a dirty, dark but utterly delicious alpha he is & fuck if I didn’t lust after him. What this man is capable of would leave any hot-blooded female wanting more. The sexual chemistry between them was as powerful, dominant & raw as their personalities & for me it gave the story a whole other dimension – I loved it!

It does help if you read the other 2 books first as some of the characters are in this book too, but it isn’t essential. That said, I love to start my journeys at the beginning, so it was fantastic to see old friends throughout this book & catch up on where their lives have taken them. You also learn a little about others who so far have stayed in the shadows – like Ace!!! Eeeeek I can’t wait for his story. I need that secret!!!

A fabulous 5 star read from me.

This is the Third book of standalone's in the The Disciples Daughters Series and although they are standalone's i think to fully appreciate these reads you should read in order. As i was reading its not that i felt lost or confused it just made me want to know the others stories from their comments.
Ember is taken in the night held captive till she can be sold on for a profit. While being held she tells the people holding her, the one name that will get their attention...

"The Savage Disciples. They'll buy me."

At the clubhouse Jager has a decision to make does he pay for the woman he has no clue who she is or does he send them away. But why would she name the club not wanting to risk his brothers he pays for her hoping he's not just made the biggest!! Keeping her locked up to the Pres and his other brothers return from a run he calls for the club Doc to come out and check her over and get's the surprise he wasn't expecting.

"know her? he asked, like i was fucking dense. She's Roadrunner's fucking daughter!
Well, Shit."

What follows is a story of two people who are a little bit broken hurt by their past coming together with understanding, trust and with some BDSM thrown in. It wasn't over the top with drama and angst and was quite an easy read focusing more on their relationship than what brought her to the Disciples this is the only part that i found let me down. Over all it was a good read and i will be reading the first two in the series and will continue to read. I'm looking forward to Ace's book where secrets will be revealed.

great series, loved the characters, loved the stories. really well written. looking forward to Ace's story .. must admit to his secret being pretty intigueing ... is there another disciple's daughter (suppose there must be - Stone, maybe) or does this disciple have a daughter .. def must read on release (6.12.16)

12/1/18 - one of my very fave series. first read when the original three books were released as the Disciples' Daughters, though the series evolved to the Savage Disciples MC. tough alpha males, strong loving females, wonderful children. plenty of action, danger, romance but the overall theme I see as family. love the writing style, the stories and the characters. a great series that I have no probs reading over again

Good but lagged in middle .

This book is good but lagged at about 50% and I couldn't get back into it after that. It's a shame as Ember is amazing and so sassy but Jager annoyed me to no end and I wanted her with Ace .Sorry but not best in series .

This was another absolutely fantastic read by Drew Elyse. I have been reading about the Disciple MC men from the very beginning. With every book I get to know them and the women they love more and more. Every story has introduced a new daughter of a Disciple and shows me the development of a particular couple. I also get to speculate and be intrigued by other characters that haven't had their story told and get excited by what's to come. This story was no different and I loved it.

This time I got to know Jager. He's very tough, very loyal to his brothers, and very secretive. He doesn't share much of himself with anyone. When Ember gets thrown into his path, he doesn't expect her to be any different. He's interested in her but she's the daughter of a fellow disciple, a brother, and that could definitely complicate things when he doesn't do complicated. Ember gets under his skin and in his head though and the next thing he knows, he's got to decide if he's finally ready to let someone in.

Jager was that strong silent type I love in a man. He's the type that won't make small talk and doesn't allow awkward silences to force him to speak. When he does open his mouth, he means what he says and he had me hanging on every word. Ember was brought into his life due to some of the most horrific of circumstances. She's struggling to get her life back on track, but for some reason she feels a connection to Jager and in his own way he helps her. While I loved the strength and resilience of both characters, I also loved seeing their dark, their depth, and their passion.

Once again Drew Elyse has brought me characters that are nothing like anything I've read from her before but they're still amazing in their differences. The story unfolding in the present as well as the history of these two had me completely invested in them and flying through the pages trying to see if and how they would get their happy resolution. It was a great read, another great addition to the series, and definitely took first place for my favorite so far. I can't wait to see what comes next and I highly recommend this story and both stories before it.

Engage by Drew Elyse
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
Ok so this is a standalone and its book 3 buuuut I gotta admit I felt a little bit off in this book. SO what am I gonna do? Go and read book 1 and 2…LOL I just want to put that out there for anyone like me who hadn’t read the other books. It might make you feel a little outta the loop.
Ember wakes up and soon discovers she has been kidnapped. Now not the thing you wanna have happen to you for sure. She essentially tells the kidnappers that she is worth LOTS if alive ad unharmed. So what do they do? They sell her to Jager who has no clue who this chick is.
Jager is a hot mess…tortured soul alpha ladies…don’t we love them???? He realizes who she is and is totally keeping her safe because of her who dad is. It seems that Embers mom took her away from the club life and her dad so people didn’t even k now Roadrunner had a daughter.
Jager and Ember’s story is awesome and I actually am looking forward to going back and reading the other 2 books because I am a huge MC reader and now I wanna know about the other guys I was reading about. Gotta find me a patch member to claim for myself….damn too bad Ember and Jager worked out *wink*

Engage (Savage Disciples MC Book 3) by Drew Elyse Review ♡
4✨
2🌶

I really enjoyed this book!! It is very lighthearted and a fun read. I loved how it had such a good storyline. Jager and Ember were so perfect for each other and I just loved them together! I love an mc romance but sometimes you just crave a story that is on the shorter side but still amazing and this was definitely that!!

They were so cute and I loved how we got a glimpse into their future together aka having a family and getting married. I also loved how he was protective of her but such an alpha male when with others. I loved how feisty she was but also such a kind and sweet person. I also loved the chemistry they had and the sexual tension. I loved how she grew stronger in herself and grew as a person while healing from what happened to her. I loved how all the Disciples were so protective of her. I just love the Disciples family!! They are all so protective and sweet and I can’t wait to read the rest of the boys’ stories!

This is the third book in the Savage Disciple’s series and I can’t wait to read the rest!! Everyone check out the Savage Disciples MC series if you like anything MC or tattooed alpha males. Also, check out the author Drew Elyse as I have read many of her books now and they are just so good!!

Engage (The Disciples’ Daughter#3) by Drew Elyse Ember woke up to her apartment being broken into. When she wakes up again she discovers she is in a cell surrounded by other girls who look like they have not a meal or a bath in a while. She is hooked up to an IV which has had her knocked out for days. Upon speaking to one of the girls she learn she has been kidnapped and is to be sold. Thinking on toes she mentions the name of a notorious MC The Savage Disciples. Jager happens to be at the club when they bring in an unconscious Ember. Jager has no clue who this lady is but if she mentioned the club she must be someone. Saving her from the guys that bought her in the club, Jager and Ember start a relationship that is far from normal. Jager is a very interesting character who drives the girls wild. Ember is a women that any guy at the club would love to have as an Old Lady. Even though this book is part of a series it was read as a standalone. I had not read any of the previous books but after reading this one I definitely want to know the other character’s stories. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. I give this story 4.5 stars.

Jager and Ember...

Hmmmm...well I enjoyed this story but I did feel a lack of care from Jager at times... he seemed to want to push her away way more than pull her close.

I get why but it was still a little bit of a let down after reading the other books in the series and seeing how much he seemed to adore her. If I hadn't read those stories this book might have been even more disappointing.

So we have Ember who was snatched in the middle of the night by her ex-boyfriends mob creditors because he sold her? I don't really get how that worked but anywho then she tells them to take her to the Disciples because they will foot the bill...and Jager does even though he doesn't have a clue that she's Roadrunner's daughter.

They end up falling into a sexual relationship that seems to be easy and fun for them both until Ember finds her emotions involved. Cue the assholery on his part before she smacks him in line and things heat up in a good way as the two find their footing and Jager becomes less of a dick.
All in all it was an EXP or five star read and I was happy with the end results despite not liking Jager at times.

I admit this is the first book I've read by this author..I am wondering why since I loved this book so much. I love MC and I just found a new author to follow. THIS book is a standalone but at the beginning I found it author bit hard to place who was who, but other than that, when I got the hang of it I was totally fine.
Ember got kidnapped and after she wakes in a cell she tells the kidnappers that the savage disciples will buy her. That’s how she ends up at the savages MC , with the very handsome and very intense Jager.
Ember and Jagger have both something to hide from, something they just want to forget..and what better way than feel with your whole body?
I actually loved this part because it made sense for the story. .everything was perfectly thought and the story was flowing really well.
I loved how strong Ember was and the war Jagger was fighting within himself when it came to Ember.
THESE two worked well together.
I loved the story and I will certainly check out the previous books.

Jager 😍😍

Jager...enough said 😂😂

This was another fantastic instalment in the Savage Disciples MC series, personally Jager is my kind of man. I've loved every book in this series all for their own reason and I've loved every character, but Ember I think she is who I associate more with...not the trauma side but the bedroom side, seriously this author could have taken her thoughts right out of my head 😊😊

Anyway, this was a much more intense read than the previous books, I was emotionally drained by the end, the ups and downs, highs and lows were all worth it in the end.

I love this authors stories, her writing style is engaging and her characters are perfect. Jager was the ultimate dominate male, he oozed authority and had so many layers. Ember was sassy and kicka@$ and just who I want to be when I grow up, she had style and flair and knew her own mind. Loved it all.

This book made me fall a little bit more in love with all the brothers and I can't wait for the next ride.

I don't know that I can convey how much I'm loving the Savage Disciples series...it is fabulous!!! Each new installment and new couple take you in a whole new direction while keeping you in touch with the rest of the crew. I think that's part of the draw of this series, the main characters are great, but the supporting characters are hilarious...makes you wish for their stories. That's what drew me to Jager. Who doesn't love tall, dark, silent and deadly? But he got my attention in the previous book when he spoke, he tells Ash his story and he became even more drool worthy. It would figure that a man like him would need a strong woman to catch and hold his attention and he finds that in Ember. Love how she has ties to one of my favorite brothers. This wasn't as much of a romantic love story from the first because Jager is a little broken, but it is so hot...who needs romance?! Read this series, I promise you won't regret it!!!

Ember didn’t know where she was when she woke up in a cell with other women waiting for a fate that could only be worse than death. So she said the only thing she could think of - call the Disciples. Which is how she finds herself in the midst of a large and loving family she didn’t know she had at hand and at the mercy of Jager and her wildest fantasies.

So - I have officially read my first BDSM romance and it was entirely by accident! It was academically fascinating - if logistically confusing at times... But I will say that for these two characters it totally worked. Plus the level of consent as foreplay was pretty epic. Not to mention watching Jager catch feelings that he is really not a fan of is great fun. It is hot sex and slow-burn love all over this novel and it is definitely an enjoyable read. (Not to mention that Ember basically has a 40s pin-up thing going and gets a dog to cry with. And I love and want to be that level of confident.)

Who is Ember to the Disciples? We have not heard her name before now. Who are Louis, Yeltz, and Kuznetsov? We know who Jager is. What happens when Ember is awoken one night by a noise in the hallway of her apartment? What does she see when she goes to investigate? What happens to her? How does she get herself out of the situation? When she wakes up at the clubhouse, what happens? Watching as things unfold in this book between her and Jager, I wonder if they will ever get together or not. It seems very unlikely given Ember's thoughts on the matter. Why does the FBI get in contact with them, or do they get in contact with the FBI? What is it that they want Ember to do? Why? What has happened is a game changer. You're going to have to read to find out!

This story was really hot, and raw. It had me hooked from page one. You could tell Ember and Jager was going to be explosive.

I loved Jager, he may not say so many words. But when he speaks you know to listen. He is jagged and hard. But he really has a big heart. He would do anything for his brotherhood, he is loyal down to the bone. He is proper Alpha male, and dominant. He is a nerd, but he is also hard.

I loved Ember, even though she bottles her emotions up. She is fierce, and independent. She loves her father, and the brotherhood. She is loyal, and funny. She is easy to get along with.

I cannot wait to read more.

Another good book in this series. This is jägers and embers story. Ember is kidnapped but is returned to the mc on jägers watch. No one knows who ember is, so they have to wait til the rest of the the club return from sturgis to see if anyone recognises her. This story ignites jägers protective instincts but also his past. The mc are all bought together to solve the kidnapping. All the gang involved. Not sure what the bonus chapter for sketch was for at the end, as all the details had already been given in book. Very random. Enjoying the series.

Another great read!

Wonderful to see Jager find his one. Getting deeper into the lives of the Disciples is a treat. Ember is awesome, she deals with her issues slowly but she does deal. Her relationship with Ace gives her the balance she needs to not rely solely on her dad or Jager. Always a good time when you get to see the next generation joining the clan. Looking forward to the next book.

All alpha and oh so delicious

Oh now I loved Jager! He is officially my favorite Disciple. When skin traders bring a bound and drugged woman to the MC to sell her to them he has no idea who she is . He knows he wants a taste of her though and when Jager wants a taste he is rather specific about how he likes them . It seems that Ember is into just his kind of sex. He’s hot, dominating, and all alpha. He can command me anytime!
