A native New Yorker, Chris Keniston was on her way to Australia when she fell in love with North Texas. Little did she know the balmy seventy-degree October days would turn into fry-an-egg-on-the-sidewalk heat in August!

Twenty years later, she started scribbling short stories about her favorite TV shows, giving them lives more to her liking - and the elusive happy ending. Not long after, a dear friend dragged her to a local writers’ meeting. After winning multiple writing contests and making the finals in the Romance Writers of America’s prestigious Golden Heart contest, she now spends her days, and nights, writing contemporary romantic fiction with lots of emotion, plenty of surprises, and, of course, the happily ever after.

Chris lives in suburban Dallas with her husband, two human children, and two canine children. Though she loves her puppies equally, she admits being especially attached to her German Shepherd rescue named Gunny. After all, even dogs deserve a happily ever after.

Another book in this sweet series. I like that Toni is in town for Meg's wedding, to help her out. But as much as I liked that part, Toni has a few secrets of her own she is hiding and trying to come up with a plan for. Seeing the Farraday's and the town really lull her into letting her secrets out and confiding in Brooks. I loved that Brooks didn't jump down Toni's throat, but more gave her a calm space to get things out and help her come up with a plan.

While I loved the drunken shoot out at the end, the results were a little bit unbelievable. Things wrapped up a little too pat and so fast. About the only good thing that it accomplished was giving Toni and Brooks a clear path for their own HEA.

🚨SPOILER

Picture this: the fmc is married to an abusive jerk and when he leaves for a work trip she runs away to her college bestie who lives in the middle of nowhere in Texas. Said college bestie happens to have a hot, doctor brother in law that fmc falls in love with. All fun and cutesy and what not. THEN, abusive husband decides to track down fmc and ends up at the family farm one night spying on the whole family. He intends to sneak up to the house and try to kidnap fmc (LOL) but instead hides behind a tree when the hot doctor and his brothers come out on the porch to look into some odd noises. Crazy aunt lady then shoots some shots into the air to scare off any potential predators, hits a tree limb of the tree abusive husband is standing behind, limb falls on him and breaks his neck and he dies. Fmc doesn’t have to go through divorce process and can instead get with hot doctor brother. I WISH I WAS MAKING THIS UP!

Other than this debacle the book was good!! The mmc’s character was so attentive and loving. The fmc was strong and told her truth and even helped another battered wife in the community. Lovedddd the peek into the wedding prep for the couple in the first book too!

We're back in Farraday country with the six gorgeous Farraday brothers and one sister for the wedding of their brother Adam and the love of his life, Meg O'Brien.

Dr. Brooks Farraday and Antoinette Castelano Bennett met when he found her in the street. He didn't realize she was crumpled down because she was checking out the infamous dog we met in book one. He suspected that Toni had been hit by a car and being a doctor he stopped to help. Instead he got yelled at because his presence scared the dog away. It wasn't until his brother Adam stopped to see what was going on as he was making his way home that Brooks learned the woman was none other than Meg's best friend from college. She was truly a breathtaking beauty but she also was sporting a wedding ring. He fought his attraction to her as best as he could and he did a good job but we all knew what he was feeling.

Toni married a man who seemed to good to be true...and he was. As he became abusive he held her captive, not allowing her to leave their home. This came in small doses but as his behavior worsened she began to plan her escape. He had been called out of town and visiting with Meg the week before Meg's wedding was a perfect place to hide out.

Brooks and Toni both worked hard to behave themselves until Toni's circumstances could be rectified. They knew, but didn't tell each other, that they had finally met 'the one.'

This was such a sweet, loving story. I enjoyed it a great deal and can't wait to move onto Connor's story. Thanks for another great read Chris. You know by now I love all your books (well the ones I've read anyway;) I'm going to be working my way through the list to read the rest of your books as I can afford them in 2017.

Brooks: Farraday Country Book 2 is by Chris Keniston. This is the second in the series about the seven Farraday siblings, six of whom are boys. Their Aunt, who moved in after their Mother (her sister) died, has been worried that the boys will not find the right girl to marry. It seems love is in the air after Adam finds his true love with Meg. Will Brooks be next? Brooks in the town doctor who works long hours and until he sees how happy Adam and Meg are had not been too interested in falling in love. He knows the girls in town too well. Where would he find someone? Then he meets Meg’s best friend Toni and is drawn to her. However, there is a huge obstacle, she is married!
This book is even better than the first. Chilvary and honor are definitely still around in the form of the Farraday boys.

Oh, these Farraday men. The stuff of dreams. A dormant hero lies buried inside the rugged good looks waiting for the right woman to bring out the warrior. Brooks is every bit as dreamy as his brother but less complicated. When he cares he gives his all and his chance meeting with Toni wakes up the protector in him. It's easy to fall for a guy who is an open book with his emotions and for the most part Brooks fits that category. My love of strong female leads was fed by Toni. Refusing to be a victim, she sought out to save herself. Brooks was a inspirational tale of courage and faith - enough said.

Fantastic read. The second book in the Farraday Series.
Brooks is the doctor in the family. He was a little jealous of his brother finding
love and hoping maybe he might. But what were the odds of finding it on the side of the
road? When he meets Toni his sister in laws friend but ironically it's over a dog.
Only thing is she's married.

Toni is getting away from her life. She flees to her best friend who is living and about to get married
in West Texas. Then she meets Brooks. She should not be having these thoughts, but can't help it.
He's a hot cowboy.

Highly recommend.

Second book in the series. A little more with secrets kept and a doctor who falls hard yet gives her space, listen and wants to help out. There are some comical moments. All works out and her nearly ex gets his just deserts. A light and easy read, however the editing is bad, spelling mistakes and grammatical errors are rife and easily spotted.

The last thing Toni expected when driving home was to find a situation that he thought was a hit and run but was actually a women in the road with a dog. Brook is new in town visiting a friend for a wedding that will take place and until then she will figure out what to do with her life. Finally out of the hands of her abusive husband while he is away shes able to jet and recuperate. The last thing she expects is to fall for Toni.

Another terrible cover. Looking past that this was a pretty good book by no means original I feel like I read this book before just different versions of it but it was still a pretty good book. I though it was interesting getting to see both characters point of view. Seeing as Brook was trying to work out a new life in the process of getting divorced won't be an easy process especially since he is loaded and abusive. She refuses to get back to her old life and it was interesting how she went about it in this book. This book was also short as well would've been nicer if it was longer but its good for those of you who are pressed for time and looking for a good quick read.

Cowboys, chivalry, another Faraday? What's not to love😂

Wow, another spectacular story.
When I first stumbled onto one of Chris Keniston's books I read a review that said that not since Nora Roberts has there been an author as good. Well, with no offence meant towards Ms. Roberts, I personally find her better. Mainly 'cause she doesn't write scenes, but who's counting?

I absolutely adored this book, and for a while there Ms. Keniston had me worried about how she's going to fit it all into those last few pages, but somehow she managed to wrap it up, bow and all.

My most favorite thing is the epilogue of each book which kind of gives you a sneak peek into the next book.

As always, this is my honest opinion and I hope it helps make your reading choices easier. Have fun, enjoy, and don't forget to smile 😊

Book two of the Farraday Country series is an entertaining romance with enough humor to be amusing but not what I consider a rom-com. The main characters are well developed but the plot is a bit thin, essentially revolving around the chance meeting and inconvenient romance between Dr. Brooks Farraday and Toni Castellano Bennett. Inconvenient because Toni is a married woman and the story is set in a small west Texas town. 'Nuff said on that subject. The author did an excellent job detailing the escalation of spousal abuse, which sounds out of place in a romance but really isn't when you think about it. To avoid a spoiler, I'll finish by saying my only problem with this story is the unlikely and implausible denouement. Otherwise a quick and fun read.

Nailed it

Keniston nailed this story. So worth the read. Love the mix of the wedding from the first book into this one. Keeps the story going and keeps the reader interested in the whole as well as the individual stories involved in this series. Very well done. Highly recommend this book and series.

Excellent

Outside of the fact that the family of bachelors is similar to several other fictional families...I'd like to see something different... this book is first rate. Two thing I particularly like: it is clean, and the resolution of the problem is both creative and believable.

Hard look at emotional and physical abuse

When Meg's friend from college comes to visit for her wedding, Meg senses something is off. Meg's future brother in law Brooks falls for her friend. Meg realizes that her friend's marriage is in trouble. Great story. Hope we will get more on Meg and her friend in the future.

Toni Castellano

Toni is Meg’s best friend and is in her wedding. She has come to West Texas ahead of the wedding to escape from her life in Boston. Here she meets Brooks when she sees a hurt dog in the street. Toni has a bad marriage and doesn’t need another man in her life. This book handles the difficult subject of abuse very well and how women feel trapped and how they sometimes just don’t realize what’s happening until it too late. I really liked Toni’s character, she is getting free of abuse, regaining her self esteem and taking charge of her life. Brooks is a very considerate and caring person, being the doctor really suits his character. I liked this book as much as I did the first book and look forward to reading Connor’s story next.

Oh man, I’m glad I didn’t pay any attention to the cover because I like my idea of Brooks better! 😂 This was quite short and although there were issues in the way of “truelove”, they rather conveniently taken care of them. I do like the familial flavor with each appearing in other’s love stories. Nice also for the story to just continue on.

Brooks and Toni. I really liked how Toni was getting back to her normal self and actually felt self showing her emotions. I liked how Brooks tried to get himself to back off once he realized Toni was married and didn't do anything until he found out the truth. This book was great and I can't wait to read more of the Farraday clan getting their HEA.

Country Living

The Book was likable, but I found it a little hard to follow in the beginning. After a few chapters, I felt more at ease reading following the actors and the Story. What an ending! And you had to love the little old ladies. I recommend the book to anyone who likes clean romance. The free curse weren't that disturbing.

This book was even better than the first, Adam, and this is my second reread. Humor, cowboys, and small town romance are still great reasons to continue the series. I love books that leave me with a satisfied feeling, like this one.

Another quick and easy read. What I liked about it is that it picked up right where the last book left off, and even though this book focuses on a different brother, all the characters that you got to know from the first book were still very present in this book.

This book was really exciting and fun. Loved how the story continued from the last book but could stand alone as well. The subject addressed - Abuse-was handled very well. So glad to see real life depicted in this story - and the fun of planning a wedding . Great read!
