After chain reading the last two ETERNAL MATES installments one thing has become evident, Felicity Heaton’s big cat shifters are misogynistic jerks! Well, generally speaking anyway, but as in every society there are those that defy tradition, and although Cavanaugh doesn’t outright spit in his prides’ face, he does utilize the rules to his advantage which was even better because H-E-L-L-O! Smart AND dreamy! I briefly met this kissable snow leopard in HUNTED BY A JAGUAR, and his similarities to Kyter (that novel’s hero) paired with his mysterious back story were more than enough to make me say yes to book 5.
This was the first novella in this series, so I was a little hesitant for the simple reason that shorts rarely succeed in completely fulfilling my Paranormal Romance appetite. Those doubts proved to be unwarranted because CRAVED BY AN ALPHA had all of the ingredients of the previous EM titles, minus the lengthy couple’s dance which the author managed to establish in a single chapter thanks to the characters’ past. So yeah, the excess fat was trimmed in all of the right places, and the outcome was a quick paced tale of love, cat fights, and cave sex.
Cavanaugh was pretty secretive about his background in book 4, but I just knew that it involved a girl, so when Eloise showed up at Underworld, I wasn’t the least bit taken aback. His reasons for jumping ship were sweet, however as with most rash decisions, consequences were unavoidable, and unfortunately his lady friend suffered the brunt of them. It was mildly annoying that they didn’t own up to their feelings from day one; on the other hand five years is a long time to spend building something up in your head, so the conflict between them wasn’t far-fetched.
Eloise won’t be winning any awards as my favourite EM heroine because she came off as rather beaten, although again, that was understandable in her case considering everything she’s been through. It’s tough to break free from extended oppression, and there was still a high degree of courage, and self-sacrifice to her given how she’s been globetrotting for two years on threadbare resources in the hopes of saving her pride while also condemning herself to a loveless life. Still, Cavanaugh was compelling enough for the both of them as was the humping.
CRAVED BY AN ALPHA was like catnip for readers!

I've been a fan of the Eternal Mates series since Felicity Heaton first published Kissed by a Dark Prince so I was eagerly waiting for this latest instalment. We had been introduced to Cavanaugh in Hunted by a Jaguar and I was looking forward to getting to know him better. All we really knew about Cavanaugh was that he had left his pride and his fated mate behind and was counting down the days until he could return to be with her again.
What I didn't know was that Cavanaugh was the pride's alpha and that he was forbidden from being with Eloise because she was a low ranking female in the pride. Cavanaugh was so in love with Eloise that he walked away from everything he knew and has been biding his time until he officially loses his place as alpha so that he can return home to her. Eloise has no idea that Cavanaugh is her fated mate but he was her best friend and her first love so he broke her heart when he left her behind. The pride is in trouble though so she has put her anger and hurt to one side and come looking for Cavanaugh's help. Just as Cavanaugh is close to achieving his goals Eloise comes back into his life, returning to the pride early to give them the help they so desperately need could cost him everything he's ever wanted but if he refuses then Eloise may never forgive him.
Craved by an Alpha is one of the shortest stories in the series so far but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. Cavanaugh is the kind of hero it is easy to fall for, he is honest and caring and although he has made a few stupid decisions he has always had the best intentions. I was angry with his pride for their old fashioned traditions and the way that they would have kept Cavanaugh and Eloise apart because of her status and in a way I wish he had challenged those traditions and shaken things up a bit. However, I was pleased with the way he handled things in the end and I think everything worked out in the best possible way.
Eloise was a really sweet woman, she loved Cavanaugh more than anything but was willing to give up her own happiness to protect the people in her pride. She was stubborn and refused to take no for an answer when it looked like Cavanaugh would turn his back on them once again and I was pleased to see her standing her ground. It was also nice to see the pair of them fighting together to achieve their goals. This story may be shorter than the others but it has a stronger focus on the romance and the relationship between Cavanaugh and Eloise so things never felt rushed between them. They have a long history of friendship and it was obvious how much they both meant to each other so I was rooting for them to find a way to be together. I hope we'll get to see more of them as the series continues but in the meantime I'm just happily looking forward to the release of Bitten by a Hellcat which releases in a couple of weeks.

This is a novella... short & fast paced... it gives us a little romance, a little steam, a little action and a nice fulfilling HEA. This was a nice addition to the series but I'm not as big a fan of the shifters as I am of the Elves, Demons and Hunters. This short addition is focused solely on Cavanaugh and Eloise and their coming together finally after 5 long years of separation. Most of the book is them traveling back to his village and re-connecting with each other as they make the long journey home. The action comes in at the very end when Cavanaugh finally challenges the Alpha!
I love this series immensely and I'm anxiously awaiting for the upcoming novels such as Taken by a Dragon and Bleu's story... yep... I need those like right now!

Cavanaugh is a perfect example of Fate stepping in and blowing all of your carefully laid plans right out of the water. After years of being away from his pride, suffering through loneliness and the pain of knowing that he is not only separated from his mate, but she isn't even aware of his true need for her, Cavanaugh was only days from seeing his plans come to fruition when Eloise shows up and his plans have to change.
Eloise has come to collect Cavanaugh to bring him back to save their pride from being destroyed by a ruthless dictator who has nefarious plans for all of the females in the pride. In Cavanaugh's absence, the one left in charge has terrorized his pride and made them all live in fear. The journey back to the pride and their subsequent challenges are full of misunderstandings, miscommunication, and even hurt feelings for both Eloise and Cavanaugh.
In true Heaton style CRAVED BY AN ALPHA is a enjoyable, fast moving, and sexy paranormal read. Again, I say you can't go wrong with an ETERNAL MATES story!

Barely 3 stars
This is a short book. But, the whole conflict of the book was miscommunication/non-communication between the two main characters. It's a big pet peeve of mine to move a story along because two people can't simply open their mouths and talk about a basic conflict. There was more inner dialogue that was pretty repeatative compared to ACTUAL dialogue between the two characters. They would seriously stand in front of each other and hash stuff out in their brains but remain silently staring at each other. Frustrating, so very, very frustrating.

Cavanaugh never wanted to be alpha and just days away from achieving the freedom he craves, Eloise, his fated mate, shows up begging him to return to the pride he left behind in this enthralling paranormal romance.
It has taken Eloise years to find Cavanaugh and now that she’s found him she has to convince him to return to the village and his role as alpha for the sake of the pride only Cavanaugh wants to wait until he can be free to claim the role he really wants – that of Eloise’s mate. The reader can’t help but get caught in their story as Eloise convinces him of the urgency in returning and they embark on their travels – a journey fraught with tension, excitement and passion because their desire for each other still burns as hot as it ever did. Their relationship however, has some obstacles in its path, the pain and disillusionment from their past experience and of course Cavanaugh’s role as alpha could tear them apart again. The strong compelling characters grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning and ensure that the reader want to know every last detail of their journey and their romance.
The current acting alpha of the pride has a lot to answer for and Cavanaugh is just the strong sexy alpha snow leopard to make him do so, of course who ever said that bad guys fight fair. Lots of action and suspense builds anticipation throughout the story as the battle grows closer and the well written scenes and details paint vivid images that capture the imagination and bring the story to life.
This fascinating world of Eternal Mates keeps getting better and introducing even more captivating and intriguing characters for reader’s to fall in love with. Cavanaugh and Eloise’s story held me hostage from the very beginning and I can’t wait to read the next one.

I m enjoying this series, I really am, but I feel like everything is all and the same. Alpha male, long lost fated mate(or new found one), endless monologues, mine mine mine, sex, a bit of growling, more sex ,maybe a bit of grovel for one reason or another and the exciting bit or the confrontation with the baddie and HEA. It works, but just spicy it up a bit , ya know?
What I mostly disliked in this instalment was the lack of communication and dialogue ( can seriously count the sentences they exchanged) , also I wasn’t impressed with the snow leopards tbh. I mean, yeah, they’re cute and fluffy and you want to snuggle them, but they seemed far from dangerous. What’s the perk of being a paranormal if your traits are mostly human ones, with the exception of shifting 🤷🏻♀️

This novella is the fifth story in the Eternal Mates series by Felicity Heaton. This is a series that I've enjoyed since I started reading book one, Kissed by a Dark Prince. I love that there are four books coming out back to back to back early this year. The author has gifted us with some great stories.
In this book, we have Cavanaugh, a snow leopard (one of my favorite real life animals, they are just beautiful). He has left his pride and his mate, the love of his life and best friend. After the death of his father, he was forced to become alpha of his pride. Becoming alpha means that he had to give up the love of his life because of her station in the pride.
When Eloise shows up at Underworld, she is not the same girl that Cavanaugh walked away from five years earlier. She is much stronger and a lot more desperate. The current acting alpha is terrorizing the pride and she wants Cavanaugh to come back and retake the pride, even if that means they could never be together.
I really enjoyed their trip back to the grounds was pretty amazing. I would have loved to actually have seen the scenery. The detail that was used for the cliff climbing was pretty remarkable, especially for a novella. While, there wasn't much action during this part of their journey, the author was detailed enough to keep the story very interesting. Once they get closer to the pridelands (is that too Lion King sounding??), the action picks up even more.
Craved by an Alpha is a book that you could read without reading any of the other books in the series. We don't see much of the other characters in the series. While I did miss seeing them, this story was a great even with just the snow leopards. I highly recommend this series to any paranormal romance fan. I'm really excited to start the next book in this series. Luckily, I don't have to wait long.

ARC Craved by an Alpha
Hot dame this series just keeps getting better or should I say it’s all Amazing. Craved by an Alpha is book five in the Eternal Mates series by Felicity Heaton. Don’t let the five scare you off this one can be read as a stand alone. We get the perfect amount of plot, character development, and romance.
Yep, I’m enjoying these new characters in the Eternal Mates series. Cavanaugh is one sexy snow leopard. I liked his determination to do what he thought was right, so he could be with his Eternal Mate. Eloise, I also liked. She was determined to get Cavanaugh back to his pride, so he could save them from a tyrant even if it meant she would lose the one she loved. Both are strong and determined characters. The one thing I could have down without was the repeat thoughts Cavanuagh had on what his plan was and that he wants her to love to be his mate not a mistress cause of his status in the pride. Other then that. This was another Fantastic Amazing read by Felicity.
I love this series and if you have not picked it up yet, you must.

Cavanaugh was shocked to see his mate after leaving his pride all these years. Being the next Snow Leopard in line, Cavanaugh is the true alpha of his pride. Unfortunately, the duties and responsibilities did not bode well with him, so he left bput he swore he’d go back one day for the woman he love.

Eloise and Cavanaugh’s adventure back to their pride was such fun story to read. Despite their issues in the past it was obvious how much they still cared for each other. I was afraid the refusal to see it would bring too much angst to the story but Heaton did a great job making it sweet and romantic. It’s also not a surprised that this book packed a good punch of action scenes. Of course, this has become a usual for Ms Heaton. It’s why I keep reading her books. She has yet to disappoint me.

This is the fifth book in this series and yet again the author has outdone herself. This the Eternal Mates series do all connect but Ms Heaton has done an amazing job of making each story a standalone whilst continuing the readers journey through this amazing world. Craving a hot Alpha male? Then allow me to introduce you to Cavanaugh who we briefly met before and boy was it obvious that ths tough guy had an awful lot of backstory. Now it's finally revealed just how much he is prepared to go through for the one woman destined to be his Mate but it's a tale of sacrifice and suffering for those left behind.
Now this is a romantic story so our yummy hero is just part of the story and that brings me neatly to Eloise the heroine. Like Cavanaugh she is a snow leopard shifter but unlike him she has until recently remained with their pride. Driven beyond all reason this repressed female has hunted him down but her arduous journey is far from over. I guess here is that pivotal moment when I decide if she was a worthy heroine and that's a tough one if honest. Eloise has gone through so much with mistaken ideas and yes I kind of wanted to shake her as it's so obvious that what Cavanaugh feels for her is anything but temporary. I guess true love really is blind at times!
It's an amazing journey that this couple take and the heat level was incandescent ! Ms Heaton spins fabulous stories that keep this reader coming back for more. Passion is only part of the story though and Ms Heaton writes tense action scenes too but for me this book lacked a little something . Was it length ? Maybe a little less time with the couple tip toeing around their true agendas? I did truly enjoy it but it's not my favourite in the series as that place goes to a very hot Elf! Nevertheless this was a wonderful way to escape the humdrum existence of real life and I can't wait to read the next book.

He’s in love with his fated mate, Eloise but because of his alpha status they can’t be together.
Eloise has been hunting for Cavanaugh for two years to bring him back to their pride because the current guy acting as alpha is a real douch canoe.

Cavanaugh and Eloise romance is both sweet and heated. He has known for nearly ten years that Eloise is his fated mate but kept it to himself since his alpha status kept them apart. Eloise has been broken-hearted ever since Cavanaugh took over the alpha role after his father’s passing.
The alpha thing is not the only obstacle. Eloise thinks that Cavanaugh had a harem (as snow leopards do) and that’s why he stayed away from her. Cavanaugh thinks that the one night they shared together all those years ago didn’t mean as much to her as it did him.
So over ten years they have pined for each other and it was satisfying to see them get their overdue HEA.

Even thought Craved by an Alpha is the 5th book in the Eternal Mates series you could easily pick this novella up with no problems as it doesn’t advance any overall series plot. If you’re looking for a quick romance with “kitty” shifters then you’ll enjoy this one.

Well, I wanted to read the fifth installment of this series but I must be honest and say that it wasn’t what I was expecting really. Don’t get me wrong. I enjoyed reading it but I didn’t feel the connection with the characters like I did with the previous books. The writing style was very good and the plot interesting, but it was too fast-paced.
Cavanaugh was good but not like the main characters from the previous books. I would prefer him to be more alpha. Nevertheless, I really liked the way he was with Eloise.
On the other hand, Eloise is more than good. She’s brave and determined and willing to risk many things in order to do the right thing. I admired her a lot.
This story has definitely more romance than action and it’s a decent installment in a very good series. I recommend it to all the fans of this genre!

Oh, Cavanaugh. Part of me feels that of the two of them I should have been more devastated by Eloise's plight because she was stuck in a crappy situation and she had no idea why Cavanaugh had abandoned her without saying anything. But... Cavanaugh. He got to me. To be caught between the good of his people and the want in his heart. *sad face*

A super hot romance that turned up the heat, Craved by an Alpha was an enjoyable read. It was a great addition to the series and I liked it.
Both characters were good. Eloise was determined and stronger than she believed herself to be. Though it was irritating that she made assumptions about Cavanaugh because of his position as the alpha, even though she has been friends with him before. Cavanaugh was sweet and wanted nothing more than to be with the woman he loved. I liked them both.
The romance was definitely hot, with chemistry sizzling between Eloise and Cavanaugh. And they were well matched, both having loved each other for so long.
The story was quick and kept me interested all the way through. I enjoyed the story and the ending was great.

I found the timeline to be a bit confusing, especially in the fact that it took her two years to find him. As a snow leopard, you’d think tracking would have been easier. For an Alpha, my expectation is that his mate would be a solid counterpart. While Cavanaugh seemed to be well-suited for his role, Eloise didn’t appear as strong emotionally. It’s clear that she has survived some traumatic events, but she seems to downplay them.
Coming into the series on the fifth book probably contributed to a lack of commitment as a reader. It was difficult to fully embrace these characters, although the overall premise seemed intriguing.

This is the fifth book in the Eternal Mates Series. I loved it!
Cavanaugh is a fantastic character. I was intrigued by him when he was first introduced in Kyter and Iolanthe's story, Hunted by a Jaguar. It has been a pleasure getting to know him better. He is a snow leopard shifter, who has left his pride and his responsibilities as pride Alpha, so that he could be with the woman he knows to be his fated female. When Eloise unexpectedly turns up in Kyter's bar, Underworld, Cavanaugh finds himself facing a difficult decision.
Eloise is also a fantastic character. I liked her very much. She is also a snow leopard shifter and has travelled a long way to find Cavanaugh and bring him back to the pride. Can she convince Cavanaugh to take back the title of pride Alpha in time?
I have been eagerly awaiting the release of this book, as I have come to love this series. I started to read the story and was quickly pulled in, and didn't put the book down until I had finished.
The story is told through the points of view of both Cavanaugh and Eloise, which gives the reader a chance to see their thoughts and feelings. The story is very well told and the descriptions of people and places brought the tale to life. However, I don't know why, but I found the fight scenes not as vibrant or as exciting as they would normally be. The author is usually very good at describing battle scenes, but I felt there was something lacking in the action on the main fight scene. However, I think it's because it was only a fight and not an all out war that made me feel a bit short changed; I'm used to epic battles in this series! That being said, the story was full of the usual heat and passion I have come to expect from the characters in this series. I'm surprised that the snow didn't melt due to the heat generated by them!
This story had a gentler romance arc compared to the other books in the series, as Eloise is more subservient in demeanor (that is, unless she forgets herself and speaks her mind), due to her belief that this is how a lower-ranked female should behave towards her Alpha. Cavanaugh is a fantastic character. I was intrigued by him when he was first introduced in Kyter and Iolanthe's story, Hunted by a Jaguar. It has been a pleasure getting to know him better. He is a snow leopard shifter, who has left his pride and his responsibilities as pride Alpha, so that he could be with the woman he knows to be his fated female. When Eloise unexpectedly turns up in Kyter's bar, Underworld, Cavanaugh finds himself facing a difficult decision.
Eloise is also a fantastic character. I liked her very much. She is also a snow leopard shifter and has travelled a long way to find Cavanaugh and bring him back to the pride. Can she convince Cavanaugh to take back the title of pride Alpha in time?
I have been eagerly awaiting the release of this book, as I have come to love this series. I started to read the story and was quickly pulled in, and didn't put the book down until I had finished.
The story is told through the points of view of both Cavanaugh and Eloise, which gives the reader a chance to see their thoughts and feelings. The story is very well told and the descriptions of people and places brought the tale to life. However, I don't know why, but I found the fight scenes not as vibrant or as exciting as they would normally be. The author is usually very good at describing battle scenes, but I felt there was something lacking in the action on the main fight scene. However, I think it's because it was only a fight and not an all out war that made me feel a bit short changed; I'm used to epic battles in this series! That being said, the story was full of the usual heat and passion I have come to expect from the characters in this series. I'm surprised that the snow didn't melt due to the heat generated by them!
This story had a gentler romance arc compared to the other books in the series, as Eloise is more subservient in demeanor (that is, unless she forgets herself and speaks her mind), due to her belief that this is how a lower-ranked female should behave towards her Alpha. When you find yourself loving every book that you have read by a particular author, it makes you question if he/she can continue to develop the quality stories you have come to expect. Well, once again Ms. Heaton has proven that she has the ability to keep delivering the type of stories that will keep her fans coming back for more. Her descriptive writing and attention to detail helps make her stories come alive.
The first thing that jumped out at me when I received this book was the cover. It oozed sex appeal, power and strength. The second thing that got my attention was the first paragraph which reads
Cavanaugh checked his watch. The coloured lights above the bar of Underworld flashed across the glass face in time with the thumping music, but didn’t stop him from seeing what he wanted. It was gone midnight. Four years and three hundred and fifty seven days had passed. In eight days, with the rising of the full moon, he would be a man without status. He couldn’t wait.
I was curious to uncover why the hero would want to be a man without status. Who or what was motivating him to give up his position?

We briefly met Cavanaugh in Kyter and Iolanthe's story and I was immediately intrigued by him - I guess I like the tortured hero! We find out in his story that because of Pride rules and traditions, he can't be with the woman/cat that he wants to be with. When he is challenged as Alpha, he is injured and makes decisions that maybe aren't as smart as he thinks they are at the time.
This leads him eventually to 'Underworld' where he spends his time quite happily counting down the days until he can claim his woman. Of course, the path to true love is never smooth... especially when it involves shifters who are stuck in century's old tradition and a stand-in Alpha who wants things his way only.
Eloise has had it tough. She was basically persecuted by the stand-in Alpha due to her association with Cavanaugh. She stays because her family are there and leaving is a scary option. However, when it becomes that staying is the scarier choice, she decides to leave and find the one person that she thinks left her without a backward glance and put things right.
Things definitely don't go smoothly for our couple but it does help them find each other again. Theirs is a more gentle love story than some that we've had. Cavanaugh is afraid to push Eloise too much due to the past trauma that he feels responsible for. Eloise feels, partly due to the stand-in Alpha and partly due to how she sees Cavanaugh's responsibilities as Alpha, the she is unable to go toe-to-toe with him like other main females do. Heaton takes us on another exciting journey as eternal mates attempt to find their way together.
Cavanaugh and Eloise's story is one of hurt feelings, intense passion, denial, and years spent apart desperately wanting the forever they'd always desired. Pride law, however, was against them. These two fought their way back to one another. It was a dangerous journey but one they were each strong enough to withstand.
Cavanaugh is one tenacious guy. He decided he wanted something and determinedly set about getting it. Were his methods the right way to go about things? Perhaps not. He made mistakes and Eloise and his pride suffered because of them. But you have to admire a guy who'll stick to his guns in order to achieve his goals.
Eloise is another fine example of a Heaton heroine. She's fiery, can take care of herself, and is willing to do what she must to save her pride, even at the risk of hurting herself. She may have caved to pride rules a little too easily but she maintained her dignity.
Craved by an Alpha is a novella, rather than a full length novel. The fewer number of pages meant we weren't witness to some revelations and confessions. I don't think this hurt the story, though, even if I'd have preferred seeing them. We still got our dose of danger and action as well. Heaton is excellent at choreographing fight scenes as well as depicting a climb up a sheer cliff wall. No matter which world the couple is inhabiting, Heaton takes us there. And the steamy scenes...well, they're steamy! ;) I'm happy with this installment and look forward to the next in the series.

Craved bY An Alpha is the first short that Felicity has written for the Eternal Mate series.
Being a shorter story then her usual novels - nothing has gone unwritten. The characters are still sharp, crisp and well defined. We see everything one could want in a read.
Passion, tension, angst, thrills, and hot loving and incredibly hot snow leopards !
Cavanaugh and Eloise are not my favourite couple in the series, but I did enjoy the finale of them finally getting together. Five years of waiting.
In this book , We see Cavanaugh, a snow leopard who has left his pride and his mate returning to his pride only after the death of a loved one . He leaves behind love to take his place amoungst his people.
Eloise has grown stronger and is no longer the girl that Cavanaugh left behind. She is strong willed, and carries that air about her that a strong woman does. Like an iron pillar so to speak.
I enjoy strong female character and she is certainly it.

I am so in love with this series I am already chomping at the bits for book 6. That being said.. where this is a amazing reading... Book 2 is still my favorite.. (smiles)...
I love the fact that the main characters had body to their personalities. This one story just seemed to have a bit more detail in than in her usual writing. But I still adored it.. I felt like I wanted to love and strangle Eloise and Cavanaugh in equal measures.
When Cavanaugh took over as alpha he was duty bound to take more than one female... since he was alpha why couldn't he change the rules.. huffs a bit . He actually seemed as if he was always in a challenge for his position... mostly winning one time he didn't... he left and left one of the only things h he loved behind. Lack of communication wanted to smack both of them.

Anyways.. solid story full of detail, personality and some scorching hot passion. Felicity does what comes so naturally to her awesome story.. awesome characters.

Cavinaugh is the rightful heir and alpha of his pack, however life has thrown him a curve ball and he has identified his mate. In his species, because of the low numbers, it is highly rare to find a mate. As alpha it is expected that you have many women in your harem and Cavinaugh refuses to hurt his one love in that way, so he does what he feels he must do. He leaves his pack to allow a 5 year timeline pass where he gives up his role so that he can have that which he wants most. What he does not bargain for is his mate tracking him down before the time line has passed. The pack is in trouble and she is convinced that he is the only one that can save it.
I will say that if the whole book had as much action as the last 1/4 I would easily have given this five fangs, however, there was so much inner dialog with Cavinaugh and Eloise that at times it got over powering. I just wanted to shake them both for being so stupid and not just getting it on. I am a huge fan of this author so it pains me to give 4 fangs! I love the sex scenes, love the action scenes but it needed a little more of that through out and not just at the end!

Another amazing story by Felicity! what an incredible storyteller she is! I couldn't put the book down! each and every story gets better and better and each story seems to co-mingle with another previous in some way or form. I felt so sorry for Cavanaugh in the previous book even though we didn't really know what was bothering him. Getting to know him in this one just breaks your heart!
I really love snow leopards and to read about them in action in this one was amazing! I hate snow! and to read about them crossing mountains in freezing temperatures and in all that snow made me curl up in lots of blankets to read this one but it was worth it in the end to see how it all turned out!
Felicity is so creative when it comes to how her characters come together and I really can't wait to see what she comes up with next! don't miss out on you chance to read this one!
