In the stunning conclusion to the Fae trilogy, Caroline and Devilyn fight to preserve their love despite dark forces threatening to tear them apart.

As Caroline struggles to accept her rightful place as Queen of the Light Fae, her relationship with Devilyn, son of the Dark King, seems not only doomed, but dangerous. They know their connection is undeniable, but for others, their love is an insidious threat.

Trapped in a plot concocted by the Dark King Alderon and his evil associate, Puck, Caroline must search her history and develop her own powers in order to survive. And as Devilyn’s father appeals to the Dark inside his son, Caroline fears Devilyn will succumb to those Dark instincts before they can defeat Alderon.

Weaving together narratives from Caroline and Devilyn’s pasts as well as their present, The Queen finishes the fight between Light and Dark. Will Caroline and Devilyn’s love outlast the war? And will Caroline live to rule as the Queen of the Light?

Initial Reaction

After 2 years of waiting, The Queen by C.J. Abedi finally hit shelves. Let me be one of the first to tell you…it is FANTASTIC!!!! Seriously y’all it was perfect. After the cliffhanger in The Dark King, I was worried. I was worried for the characters, the series, and I was preparing myself for no happily ever after. I’m so glad I was wrong!

The Queen picks up immediately where The Dark King left off. (Please note from here to the end of this review, there may be minor spoilers to previous books in the series. Read at your own risk.) Caroline is in the hands of the Alderon and Puck, facing death in the dark court. Devilyn is still oblivious to her missing at the party, but when he realizes what’s happened he and Rowan head out to find her. Devilyn knows that Fate has finally caught up with them and their destiny has begun.

Caroline ♥︎ Devilyn
I love Caroline and Devilyn! Right from the start of Fae: Fae - Book 1, I knew these two characters would go down as one of my favorite book couples and I was right. Caroline is not the same girl we met in the first book. She has come full circle. She accepts who and what she is and faces it head on. She’s ready for the end whatever it may be as long as Devilyn is at her side.

It’s Devilyn that really struggles as he has for the entire series. It comes to a head though in The Queen. He loves Caroline, she’s his soul mate, no one will compare to her. YET he refuses to be with her. He punishes himself for what he is: half dark and half light. He’s afraid his darkness will be her downfall and he refuses to be a part of it. He will protect her, but he refuses to allow himself to love her. It’s heartbreaking and I just wanted to scream at him!

The Fates
This book is really a culmination of the entire series. Everything the authors have been building towards is here and it is truly stunning how they bring it all together. The destiny that Caroline and Devilyn have been fighting has finally caught up to them. Where Caroline is accepting, Devilyn continues to fight it. The two together are really formidable. I noticed that as I read I couldn’t read fast enough. There was an air of suspense from the very start.

In the last two books each chapter started with a scene outside of the two main characters, either from the light or dark fae courts. This book however starts each chapter with a scene from the past. It begins with the diaries of Eleanor Dare and progresses to Tara, really setting up the series plot point, the fate of Caroline and Devilyn. I loved this! There is so much written into these scenes that plays out with the characters. Pay attention when you read them!

An Unexpected Player
Puck was introduced in The Queen as Alderon’s most faithful and loyal subject. He is a mischief maker and I have to say I was not expecting him to play as big a role as he does. He is cunning and a bit unhinged. His motives though…

Awe man!!! Y’all have to read this book!!!

My Conclusion
Overall The Queen is a perfect end to the Fae Trilogy. I found myself crying with the characters, cheering them, yelling at them to watch their backs….seriously perfection! If you’ve enjoyed the series thus far, or perhaps you’ve never read it and are now intrigued, you won’t be disappointed. This is urban fantasy at its finest.

The Queen: Fae - Book 3 by C.J. Abedi J. Abedi’s The Queen is an amazing finish to the Fae Series.

The story starts out with a diary entry about the Lost Colony in 1590.  It then transitions, to modern times where Devilyn and Caroline are at a school Halloween party, and Caroline is kidnaped.  I found their costumes amusing.  Devilyn struggles throughout the story, feeling that their relationship puts her in danger.

Caroline has grown tremendously throughout this trilogy.  She comes into her powers and is continually challenged by the dark Fae.  She is intelligent and brave.  Devilyn is dealing with the responsibilities of being King.  He feels like his dark side is consuming his light.  He blames himself for putting Caroline in danger.  He loves Caroline and would give her up if it meant she was safe.

Caroline, Devilyn, and their friends/family are put through numerous challenges.  The dark Fae are no longer following their laws.   Alderon continues to be a lethal opponent. Some interesting things happen with him, especially toward the end of the story.  Puck lives up to his mischievous reputation and is a dangerous foe.

I like how the story flashes back to 1590-01 and the diaries of Captain John White and Eleanor Dare about the Lost Colony.  I also, like that the story is told from both Devilyn’s and Caroline’s point of view.

J. Abedi’s The Queen is well-written and has a wonderful plot. The story is full of excitement and twists. I would love to see this trilogy turned into a movie or television series.  I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

So this is it my friends, this is the final book in the Fae trilogy and it's been a long time coming. I have been anticipating the arrival of this book for a long time and I really appreciate the authors (for those who don't know CJ Abedi is actually a pair of sisters) for finishing the series for their fans after something personal happened in their lives.

I was a little lazy, the Queen came out in late December and I couldn't get it until April. I didn't have time to reread the other books in the series so I decided I was just going to go ahead and read the Queen with out refreshing myself on the series but then I had other books scheduled and reviews I promised authors to write.

Here it is the middle of August and I have finally gotten to it and it was amazing! I remembered why I loved the series so much. It was so wonderfully written that had magic, flowing off the page. The intriguing story that had whimsy (I mean we are dealing with the fae), high school drama, teen angst, epic battle scenes and even a few tear filled deaths. The epic and painful star-crossed romance between Caroline and Devilyn had me in tears, yelling and of course at times swooning.

With fate and destiny colliding leading all the players to the epic finale that is the Queen, my breath was taken away. I only wish that I could have more of the story, that I could see what the future holds for my favorite characters.

Caroline is continuing to come to terms with the fact that she is the Queen of the Light Fae and that her relationship with Devilyn is wrong on many levels. They both feel the pull to be together, but neither wishes to put their own feelings above the safety of their people. When the Dark King and Puck create a new plan that defies long established rules, Caroline must learn from her hidden past and cultivate the Fae powers that have been dormant within her. Will Caroline and Devilyn be able to resist the pull between them? Does she have the fortitude to take her place as the Queen of the Light?

The Queen is the third and final book in the Fae Trilogy. Even though this is the third book, readers who have not read the first two volumes can still enjoy this installment as long as they are familiar with basic Fae lore and of course Puck. The story is told by alternating characters and each transition gives the reader a little more knowledge that the other characters are not aware of. This was an enjoyable read and I think I am going to find the first two books so that I can experience more about these fascinating characters.

Original and compelling:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

🎧 Celtic lore, Norse mythology, and shakespeare this book is a true original. I loved the way Norse mythology was woven into a story focused on faeries. Also to note was the generation love stories told throughout the entire series. This trilogy has some slow and repetitive parts but overall it’s very interesting and nostalgic to read. Available on AUDIO for your accessibility and enjoyment with great narration!

Author: CJ Abedi
Publisher: Diversion Books
Audio: Brilliance Audio

Content: mild infrequent language (he**, sh**), intense description of attraction, only kisses first two books while third is closed door romance, violence and murder

Hmmmmm

Mediocre.

I didn't like how Puck was depicted. His speech was extra lame - like a corny villain from the 80s in a poorly written script. Though the bits about the Dares were interesting. And more to Alder it's story...semi-interesting.

Sad parts to the ending but overall not bad.

I was going to be ticked if the queen died!

Almost anticlimactic...

Hopefully the movie will be better 🙄 as if.

This was my first ever ebook. I hope it’s my last. That may have played into my thoughts on this final instalment but I remain mostly disappointed by the somewhat illogical and slightly insipid ending to something billed as the war to end all wars between the fae. It was a nonsensical magical drama production (explain to me why they went through with that instead of using their fae magic to persuade the teacher?). And Caroline succumbing without putting up any resistance. Very disappointing.

Epic

Epic story but I was disappointed with the ending because there could have been more. Well made characters, good story, action, suspense, sadness, with romance. Good overall series.

I read this novel, I didn’t listen to the audiobook. It’s more like a 3.5/5. I really enjoyed it up until the last 2 chapters.

The book was pretty good, until the end. It was so abrupt that it felt unnatural and like it didn't fit at all. It kind of ruined the book.

I feel like I have been waiting forever for the third and final installment of the Fae series by CJ Abedi but I knew that it is going to be so worth it. I cannot fully put into words my love for this series and its writers Colet and Jasmine. Neither sister failed us as readers with this concluding story of star-crossed love, light and darkness and even heartbreak.

I ran through every emotion with this book from happiness and to sadness, to hate and love. The characters are all just so lovable and in the case of the bad guys, hateable. Puck for one is a character I think I spent a lot of the series just wanting to punch; I wanted to drag him kicking and screaming from the pages and throttle him. Teddy and Rowan are just so likable and I just want to hug them both. Tatiana has her moments where you want to dislike her but in the end she shows true strength that goes against every part of her being as she fights to do the right thing. Even Alderon, the bad guy of the story has a side that few will realise existed beneath all the darkness. That brings me to Devilyn and Caroline, god they both infuriate me but make me love them both at the same time. They want nothing but to protect each other, even if it means hurting themselves. They are the star-crossed lovers of the story, one of Light, and one of Dark (though both Light and Dark run through Devilyn), destined to destroy themselves but will their love overcome the destruction or will they be lost to each other forever.

Sometimes when reading books you find a series that you love everything about and this is one of those for me. I love the story, the characters and settings as well as the writing. I’ve never really been a huge fan of dual perspective books but I don’t think I could imagine this book told any other way. So if you want to explore the world of the Light and Dark Fae, or even just the world of a young girl whose life is turned upside down by forces she never believed could be real and feelings for a boy that transcend all realms then I suggest you read not only The Queen, but the entire Fae series from the beginning and hold on tight for the roller coaster ride!

This is a bittersweet review for me to write as this series is one of my all time favorites and one that will stay with me forever.

Once again C.J. Abedi do not disappoint. From the first page, you are hooked and transported into a world of intrigue, suspense and magik.

Caroline and Devilyn are facing their biggest challenge and it will test their relationship like never before.

I found Caroline to be stronger in this novel. She is coming to terms with her newfound identity and is willing to do whatever it takes to protect those she loves.

Devilyn is still conflicted with his feelings for Caroline and his role as king of the DARK Fae. But he has Odin to be his conscience and offer him guidance.

I loved that the authors gave us insight into some of the characters back stories. It allows us to understand them better and feel pity for them.

Brilliantly written and incredibly researched, this was a fantastic end to a superb series.

HIGHLY recommended to anyone who love a story of fantasy, magik and a love that transcends time and age.

This long awaited finale in the Fae series did not disappoint. It was everything I hoped for and more. Two years of theorising and looking for clues about Devilyn and Caroline's futures were put to rest with this roller coaster of a ride. This truly is an epic conclusion to what has become one of my all time favourite book series. It's clever, well researched, heart breaking, romantic and full of stunning visual descriptions that will make you feel like you are actually standing in the forest of the light and dark Fae. Along the way you find out more about the history of the Fae of Roanoke. You won't be disappointed with the conclusion to this unique series.

Anticlimactic

I had been anxiously waiting for this book for a long time. While I loved going back to my favorite characters I did not like the ending. I was left wanting more. It was almost like a rushed ending for me not worth the money for the book. Overpriced to me.
I loved the authors word imagery during the story but overall disappointed in the rushed ending and feeling as if it did not tie up some loose ends.
