As far as clone stories go, this is by far one of the better ones, if for no other reason than the two duplicates don’t fight each other, in fact they develop a special kinship over a short amount of time, but the ending butchers the story for me. Not going to spoil it, but it keeps the story from being richer with its lackluster, underwhelming ending. Also, could have been longer. It reads like a one-shot you can read for free, but this one has more brain cells put into it. Overall, a good read, lousy end.

Well-written, thoughtful, and uncompromising.

(Really not sure where the narrator was coming from about Middlemarch though)

I've always had a soft spot for clone stories, especially those that explore the relationship between clone and original. This one does wonderfully - and heartbreakingly.

And yes, the "would you fuck your clone" question is addressed, but in a way that focuses on self-acceptance which makes it very bittersweet.
