Love in Country

Rate this book
The town vet has captivated Aiden De La Fuente since the day they met, but the wedding band around her finger made it clear she was off limits. However, everything isn’t always as it seems, and all bets are off once Aiden discovers the truth behind her marriage. With the woman he loves within his grasp, nothing will stand in his way…except his best friend, who complicates things further.

Meeting the love of her life while wearing another man’s ring isn’t something Sarah O’Connell ever expected. But things aren’t always as they seem, and faced with the possibility of losing Aiden, Sarah entrusts him with the reality of her situation, and her heart. A decision she may soon come to regret.

Desire ignites and emotions flare as Aiden and Sarah fight through the constant obstacles in their path, but suspicions and mistrust may shatter them both, ending their future before it can truly begin.

I'm a firm believer that a man and a woman can't be best friends especially if both show affection that it could be interpreted as love.
This hero has a best friend whom he kisses in her face hold hands with her and he's getting upset that the heroine is jealous??? When everyone else is interpreting that they are lovers even his family thought that this ow was his girlfriend or lover.
Btw the heroine has a marriage of convenience with her husband who is gay and he's been having an affair with a man, the same as the heroine she has an affair with the hero because she's still married. She had never in the 7 years of marriage had sex with the husband.
Anyway back to the previous point, the hero asked the heroine to marry him but he asked the ow to help him pick a ring. I would've been pissed and hurt that my fiancé is asking another woman help picking up my engagement ring. After that I started skimming I was very upset with this book.
And let me be clear the hero and the ow only see each other like they're bother and sister but their actions say another.

These 2 are a train wreck. Back and forth, trust and misunderstandings, rumor and VISUAL PROOF…they are too exhausting. Spending the night in another woman’s home only to hear “so sorry” to “you’re forgiven” in 3 seconds? As for the “friend” she is a bit out of line more often than not and Sarah is supposed to just welcome her? Yay Sarah has a new bestie…sorry, no. Aiden screws up again and again…but lets have the sex scene and say I'm sorry…nope not for me.

Did I forget to mention how much I FLOVE this author?!! Be still my beating heart!......another De La Fuente brother! *sigh.....
Love in Country is the fourth book in the De La Fuente Family series......if you haven't read the other three, I highly recommend that you do because you get to know the other family members......
This book is not as long as the others but in truth, it doesn't need to be as I feel Aiden and Sarah have been a long time coming and we have had glimpses of them in the last two books.
The length of the book doesn't detract from their story either, my heart was in my mouth the whole time and I could not put it down......nobody deserved a HEA more than these two.......and as always this author takes you through every gamut of emotions........such a beautiful, heartfelt and HOT story. You did it again Lexi!! Go add it to your TBR now people!!

Another enjoyable story in this series. The start especially drew me in, and it certainly kept me engaged until the very end. However I did struggle a little with the middle part of the story which is why I only gave this story 4☆ as the relationship just felt a little rushed at times and I got a little frustrated with both Aidan and Sarah. Plus there is quite a lot going on in this story that is relatively short compared to others in this series. Overall though it was enjoyable and the story had plenty of hot moments, plus it was great to catch up with the rest of the De La Fuente family although some only briefly and I'm certainly looking forward to reading Diego's story which is next. As for this one I would happily recommend it especially to fans of the series and author although honestly you could easily read this one as a standalone.

Love in Country is a fast pace read. Lexi Buchanan took me through all the emotions possible with Aiden and Sarah. These two have many barriers in their path but I tell you what, they are fighters. As always I received a story that if full of emotion, desire and takes me away. The De La Fuente family are so lovable. I have fallen in love with this family and all that they bring into my book world. Thank you Lexi Buchanan for continuing to bring characters into the lives of readers. Looking forward to more.

Love the series.

I am enjoying this series and seeing each sibling find their significant other through some very trying circumstances. I just wish the books came out closer together so you can remember the characters from previous books that are mentioned in the current books. But still loving these books and the author!

Sexy

Loved another De La Fuente brother. I looked forward to this story because it was building in the previous book. The sex was hot, but the tender moments made it even better.
