Will they find the protection they seek, and allies ready for a counter-strike? Or will the impossible only getter harder?
With hell one step closer to taking over what remains of earth, this crew of assassins is prepared to fight for what is theirs. Live or die, they are in it together.
I write relationships. Whether contemporary or fantasy, they are always real and never easy.
When I'm not writing, you can usually find me with my nose in my Kindle - reading romance of course - or running around after my three little boys, or catching up on an episode of Supernatural or This Is Us.
I also have a young adult series, known as The Ignited Series, which was written under the name Desni Dantone. You can find those books listed here: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
Desni Dantone is amazing I love her books each one keeps getting better and better.. my first adult zombie series and even though this book would normally be too far out of my comfort zone I still loved it! Thank you for letting me part of your arc Team Desni it was an awesome adventure to read
Another Excellent, thrilling, action packed book from D, Laine. I can not recommend her books enough. Highly addictive! This is book #2 in the Apocalypse Assassins trilogy, so it's a must that you start at the very beginning with Marked Book#1.
Tagged carries on from where Marked book #1 finished. You're welcomed back into the world of survival and lots of sexual tension. The assassins, Thea and David are on the run from the Apocalypse and hundreds of flesh Hungry Taggs. They have huge obstacles to overcome in their search for safety, the control center in which Jake, Dylan and the other assassins grew up and their base that they call home. This is certainly action packed from the very first page, very thrilling and exciting.
This book has you smiling, laughing & then going into hair raising, heart thundering moments. I absolutely loved it and can not wait to see where this goes in the next book in the series. I can honestly say this is a must read, even if apocalypse isn't your cup of tea i think this one will appeal to many.
Written very well and you feel exceedingly close to the characters. Dylan is still by far my favorite character, with Jake close behind. Each character is woven very well and easy to connect with. I love how you get to know the characters better and how D.Laine introduced many others which i loved throughout the book.
Book #3 is highly anticipated from me. A Must Must read!
Thea is an interesting character however she is starting to grate on my nerves. She is so wrapped up in herself she doesn't really see what's going on. They are in danger and she is acting like a child. I wish Dylan would stop wasting time but that's what I like about him. He is so loyal that it makes it hard to dislike him. This is getting good with the action.
The second book in D. Laine's Apocalypse Assassins series and wow!!! It was just as good as, if not better, than the first book and it completely drew me in so that I couldn't (and didn't want to) put it down.
The book starts off with Dylan, Thea, Jake and David on the run from the tagged and the apocalypse which started right at the very end of book one. They're trying to make their way to safety at the Assassins compound in the Nevada desert, which is pretty hard when cars don't work and they're having to make their way through the open. The fight is on for them to survive and the question is will all of them make it?
I fell in love with Dylan in the last book, and I've fallen in love with him even more in Tagged. He's got that hot, bad boy aura surrounding him, but with a heart of gold buried deep down. He's the type to make you swoon every time he looks at you and oh how I wish I was Thea (minus being in the middle of the apocalypse). I love how Thea makes him work to earn her trust again in this book. In some ways he deserves it as he has lied to her, but then again parts of me understand why he had to lie to her. This is where it's great that we get both of their POV'S throughout the book as we get to see many things and feel their thoughts on similar situations through each of their eyes. I'm a big fan of dual POV these days and it's incredibly well done in this book.
This book gets an easy five stars from me (would give it more if I could). We get to meet some old faces from book one but also some interesting new characters. The action in this book is pretty much full on throughout, which it needs to be when you're going through the apocalypse. There are, however some quieter and more tender moments which gives you the full package you want when it comes to reading a good book. I'm really loving the way the author has created this story, it's kept me turning the page into the early hours of the morning, and it has several twists amd unexpected occurrences that I just didn't see coming. I'm looking forward to the third book in this series and can't wait to get my grabby little hands on it as I feel like I'm already missing Dylan, Thea and Jake. I floved this book and recommend you to pick it up now.
I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review: Tagged by Desni Dantone was amazing! This book surpassed all of my expectations and then some. I love the world she has created, yes this book is about Zombies and Demons but there is also love, friendship, and betrayal. I am in love with Dylan I must say and I really enjoy how much he has grown since the first book he is definitely outgrowing his playboy tendencies and gravitating more towards the “complete package”! We get to see the struggles Dylan and Thea are going through, and kind of see how everyone is starting to adjust to the fact the world as they knew it has ended around them. I love watching Jake and Thea interact and see their relationship grow as well! This book brings us back in the field for some more action as well as brings us new problems and what seems like impossible scenarios to get out of! I was hooked on this book from page one! I can’t wait for the third installment! This is one of those books that I wasn’t able to put down and couldn’t wait for the next thing to happen. I would highly recommend this to anyone, but be warned that you may have a hard time finding something to read that will catch you’re interested after this book!
Book 2 in this series, Tagged, is a bit darker and reads more like a zombie/alien apocalypse-type book--think 5th Wave or Station Eleven--than the first, which focused on a looming natural disaster, like The Day After Tomorrow. In this novel, tension rises as Thea and David dart in and out of 'safe' abandoned homes scavenging food or hiding from the falling volcanic ash for a few hours in caves while en route to a government bunker that Jake and Dylan insist exists a few states' distance away, with each venture into the open a heart-pounding possibility of being dinner for flesh-hungry Tags, even with their guns and Jake's and Dylan's training. Tension is also pulled taught between the characters with Thea's romantic relationship with Dylan revealed to be maybe a lie, and having just discovered her connection to Jake (I'll not spoiler book 1 with more details on that--go read it!). Once again, fans of Supernatural will enjoy this, and anyone who is enthralled with the high-anxiety of zombies, the suspense of adventures in wilderness, the mystery of secret government sci-fi departments, the action of trained assassins, and the growth of new adult-aged characters, and a little romance during times of high trauma.
I received an ARC of this book and decided to give my honest opinion in a review. Firstly, when I started this series I didn't know what to expect as I'm not really an apocalypse fan, but being a fan of Desni' other books I thought I'd give it a go and I'm really glad I did. Tagged starts out two weeks after marked has finished. The apocalypse has hit, there's tags around every corner waiting to attack and the team are fighting everything in their path to stay alive and make it back to base. There's so many twists and turns in this book you never really know what's gonna happen next. It's action packed (in more than one sense) and keeps you interested all the way through. The chapters are split between Dylan and Thea's point of view so you get to see the action played out through two of the main characters eyes, although I think I'd like to know a little more about what Jake's thinking. Desni is clearly a machine at what she does and doesn't keep you waiting too long for the next instalment. Seriously if you haven't already picked up this series I suggest you give it a go, along with all her other books. There bloody brilliant and will have you hooked in the first few pages.
This is book 2 in the series and you must read the first book first. Its a bit darker then the Marked. Thea, David< Jake and Dylan are moving around abandoned homes scavenging for food and trying to survive heading to the Assassins bunker that Jake and Dylan have insisted exists. The fight is on for them to survive and make it.
My love for Dylan has tripled in this book, he has that sexy bad boy persona that has a heart of gold. Totally Swoon-worthy <3 He is working hard to get Thea to trust him again. Whilst I understand her making it tough, he is just so lovely I want to scream at her 'forgive him or give him to me'.
I was gripped from start to finish with this book, it was nice seeing some old favourites from book 1 but loved the new characters too. Once I started this book I couldn't put it down which meant not a lot of sleep for me but its truly addictive and I now cant wait for the next book in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review from the Author
OMG!!! This series gets even better. Nail biting, bone-chilling action, surprises that will blow you away. D. Laine does an amazing job writing the story as if you are living it. Dylan and Thea’s chemistry is HOT and I love the road their relationship travels. I really enjoyed getting to know more about the other characters. After this book I can say that right now I really don’t like Maria. She butts in where she shouldn’t but it adds so well to the story. I don’t want to give much more away but I really enjoyed this book. The last half will just blow you away with the twists and turns and surprises. I highly recommend “Tagged” book 2 of the Apocalypse Assassins series by D. Laine. I really can’t wait for the next book.
I received a free advanced reader copy of this book and voluntarily decided to review it
This is the second book in the series and I am soo hooked it's untrue! It starts a couple of weeks after the first book ends, Thea and the gang are trying to get to safety whilst avoiding the zombies and tagged.
You get to know the characters better, learn a bit more what makes them tick. There is loads more excitement and adventure all the way through. I was hooked and did not want to put it down. This is superb writing, great storyline and I am so looking forward to the next book. My only disappointment was that it ended! I did not want to get to the end as it was enjoying it way to much
Not sure how she did it but this installment is even better than the first. Starting a coue of weeks after Marked ended we see Dylan, Jake, Thea and David trying to make their way back to headquaters and well its a perilous journey with Tags littering their path. There is betrayal, angst and lots of hot Sex. We do loose some loved character's along the way but in the end we may just gain some new ones. This is dual POV from Dylan and Thea, which is awesome as we get to see it from 2 totally different perspectives. I would have loved a couple of chapters from Jakes POV as i think he could add alot to this story and plus he seems hot 😁.
Really am enjoying this series so far and looking forward to the next part of this fantastic trilogy.
Tagged is book 2 in the Apocalypse Assassins series, book 1 is Marked, where we first meet Dylan, Jake, and Thea. In Tagged the Apocalypse has begun and they must try to make it from the bunker to the base. Creepy tags are every where and I had to keep putting this up at night, because zombie like creatures really freak me out. It was written so great with new twists and suspense. Endured will be book 3 and I have no idea what to expect, but I'm already looking forward to it.
The second leg of the apocalyptic journey was extraordinary. There is a lot of obstacles to overcome and a few new faces. I love the main characters in this book and how they have to adapt to new emotions and to new fears. This book gets a little hot and steamy from time to time but pain and anger sets in just as often. Definitely a roller coaster ride of emotions. The love the twists and turns in this book. I loved this book and can't wait for the next one.
Finished this book a few days ago but it tool me a few times to get into it. Once I did I loved what I read. It follows on from the first book with the 4 main characters trying to find their base so they're safe and can start focusing on what to do next. Theirs a lot of chemistry but between Dylan and Thea but the latter annoyed me slightly by not giving Dylan the chance to prove himself to her yet she uses him when she feels like it, so I'm not s major fan of Thea. Apart from that I enjoyed the read.
so needed & welcomed the homage to Supernatural tv show vibes through, Paranormal action adventure romance - found family driven brotherhood/sisterhood vibes. Demons, a secret assassin organisation, Alpha Cocky MMCs, underestimated FMC coming into her power and complicated family histories& secret identities.
At this point as Im listening, I checking to see if this author has written any other New Adult series to read.....nothing which a shame as D.Laine writing style is perfect for audio books.
As the second book in the Apocalypse Assassins series, this book is even better than the first. This installment will keep you on the edge of your seat as the characters face an unknown future. The skill of the author as she builds complex characters with flaws of their own, while also providing a world with rich descriptions is immeasurable. There is something for everyone in this book, including post-apocalyptic, romance, and action. I highly recommend the book and the series.
D. Laine did a fantastic job with this continuation of the Apocalypse Assassins series. You get more of your favorite characters from Marked, plus a few new ones to love. Tagged has quite a bit more action and a little extra gore, but it still has some romance. And I am rarely taken by surprise, but D. Laine did it TWICE in this book! Gah! I love this series!!! Bring on Endured!!!
As the action and suspense continues is this paranormal romance I fell even more in love with the main characters. Dylan and Thea are so great and I equally adore Jake. The story in this book was a real page turner. I loved how the author finished this book and I really can't wait for the final book.
This is a fantastic follow up to book 1, it's action packed and the plot is full of twists and turns! The characters are so well written and the relationships are believable. I love the direction the story is going in and I can't wait for book 3!
Oh wow! Seriously so many surprises in this book. Especially the ending wow! The first book was good but this one wow so much better! I can't wait for the next one!
Amazing book!!!!! This book start two weeks after Marked. Is action pack in every page that you turn, you will not be able to put it down. I wasn't able to do it. I have read other apocalypse/dystopian books before but none of the have pull me like D. Laine. You feel like you are there with Dylan, Thea and Jake and the rest of the clan. D. Laine is as create an incredible story. Can't wait for the next book. If you have not started this series what are you waiting for
I receive an ARC of this book for my honest review.
I was not expecting anything that happened in this book! At first I was irritated with the way Thea was acting, but I eventually started to understand why she was the way she was. Everything she thought she knew was all a lie. Then that ending really threw me. Can't wait for the next book!!
This is the second book in this series and it was just as amazing as the first book. The apocalypse is if full swing when this book starts. I loved seeing all the characters from the first book and enjoyed some of the new ones we meet in this book. There are a lot of nail biting moments, some laugh out loud moments, and some sad ones. I can't wait for the next one.
