Compilation of Komako Sakai's illustrations with some bit articles about her private life.
I just stumbled upon this book while searching about Japanese children book and fell in love with Sakai's illustration which full of vintage and classical atmosphere. Although I have confidence in my knowledge about western children literature, now I realized that I don't know anything about Asian's children literature nor their illustrators (even though I am an Asian myself). Last week, I went to an annual international book fair in my country and got a chance to see Korean children literature. It was amazing experience. I didn't know that Korea has so much beautiful and cute illustration books. Unfortunately, they were not for sale.
Well, I think it is a good time for me to add some more Asian children literature in my bookselves.
Anyways, I have been expecting a hardcover book, but got dissapointed because this one just has thin softcover. Furthermore, this book main content is illustrations, not story, so it just has one story that really short.
