Steve Kowit's earlier collection Lurid Confessions is a blast to read. This book was originally published in 1983 but republished by Serving House Books in 2010. Kowit really pushed the boundaries of the personal poem, yet there is great humor in many of these pieces. Lots of self depravity. "The Poetry Reading Was a Disaster" is the one that stood out as my favorite.
