Wells Landing (Book 5) Five tumultuous years ago, Titus Lambert had a tragic car wreck that left him serving time for vehicular manslaughter. He may not belong in peaceful Wells Landing anymore, but he must make amends. Visiting the Kings, whose son Alvin died that terrible night, he finds their farm in disrepair. They need his help. Honest toil and his friendship with Abbie King slowly help Titus’s soul to heal.
I'm a wife, mother, and bona fide Southern belle. Published author, expert corn bread maker, and Squirrel Princess.
I live in Tulsa, though I was born in Mississippi. I moved to the Sooner State when I was seventeen and met my soul mate and best friend not long after. I've retained a little of my Mississippi accent though most people think I'm from Texas. (?) Rob and I have been married for over twenty years and have a son--a mom proclaimed prodigy, of course!
I love homemade tacos, nail polish, and romance novels--not necessarily in that order. I'm a big fan of country music, a staunch proponent of saving the Oxford comma, and I'm shamefully obsessed with all things Harry Potter.
I believe that God is love. I guess that's why I adore romances.
I have always been intrigued with the Amish culture, their gentle ways and slower-paced lifestyle. (And I love, love, love the fact that they stay married for their lifetime.) But until recently I never thought to blend this interest with my penchant for romance. Okay, okay, I'm a bit old-fashioned and even enjoy the gender roles that are present in this culture. I love to cook and take care of my family. Yes, that's me June Cleaver with a laptop.
I dislike people trying to convince me to read the Twlight series (I'll get to it or I won't, either way I'm good with it), gratuitous violence, and strawberry ice cream. (I know I'm alone on this last one, and again, I'm good with it.)
Favorite movies--(besides HP) French Kiss, Maid of Honor, A Lot Like Love, Just Married, and Sweet Home Alabama. Oh, and Miss Congeniality, Sabrina (both versions) and a 1940's movie called Dear Ruth. If you haven't seen it, you should! A-dorable. Anything with Doris Day and most all of Marilyn's and Audrey's.
I can't wait to read this...the fifth...and last in the Wells Landing Series!!! I am anxiously awaiting this book...and I will be back to update my review...when it comes out!!!
Titus Returns is book 5 in the Wells Landing Series. I have loved this series. Amy Lillard is at top of my list for Amish writers. If you enjoy reading Beverly Lewis you will enjoy Amy's. Her books are written with great characters very developed you love to meet them, Plus they are romantic but clean. They always uphold the Amish faith. She honors their beliefs. Titus comes home after serving 5 years for manslaughter. Not knowing how he will be treated once he gets back home. Can the people forgive him? Will his girlfriend be waiting there for him? Titus feels he must make amends to the families that lost love ones in the accident. Can Titus forgive? Awesome story! Another great book by Amy Lillard.
I really liked the book. I loved the way Titus is forgiven by Abbie. I also like that Titus returned to the amish. It was very entertaining and i liked the way i was able to read and go there in my mind. Great Book!!! I recommend this series to my sister bc she loves to read about the amish too. Can't wait until the next book comes out. Wonderful writing for the entire series so far.
I have pre-ordered this book which does not release until December and I was honored to receive a copy from the author Amy Lillard. Imagine my excitement to read this next journey through Wells Landing. Amy captured the true struggles that individuals must have whenever they have been through a traumatic/life changing experience. Titus returns to Wells Landing after being incarcerated for 5 years and tries to find some balance and struggles with feeling worthy. Once Titus starts taking control of his new life and realizes that God is control and Titus feels that he is worthy of God's love he begins to put his life back together. The characters in this book are well developed and you feel like you know each one personally. Mandy his former sweetheart, Abbie the sister of the boy that Titus "killed" in a car accident and the reason he was in jail, Abbie's parents, and Titus's friend Eli are all amazing resident of Wells Landing who help Titus find his way back to the Church and God's love. I would not recommend it as a stand alone only because the Wells Landing Series is so wonderfully written and such an enjoyable escape to another place. Amy Lillard has captured me as a fan of her work with this wonderful series. I hope this review will help readers and fans of Amish Fiction. Thank you Amy for allowing me the privilege of reading and reviewing this wonderful book - I hated for it to end.
This book is SO wonderful! Even though it is part of a series, readers will be able to pick up Titus Returns and read it as a stand alone novel if so desired. However, if you are a fan of Amish fiction, I highly recommend the entire Wells Landing series. Each book is just so good!!!
One of the things I enjoyed about Titus Returns was the way the author created characters whose failings seemed so very real. The main characters, Titus and Abbie, both had issues and situations that came about because of the trauma from the past. These things were not easily dealt with and not easily forgiven. The repurcussions from the past seemed to creep into everyday life in the way both Titus and Abbie viewed things, the way family members continued to deal with loss, and they even impacted the possiblity of a future together for these two hurting people. The author dealt with some very serious topics in this novel and wove those topics into a captivating story.
I absolutely loved this book from start to finish! It is definitely high on my list of Amish fiction favorites.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Titus Returns is book 5 in the Well's Landing Series. This is a great series that you will enjoy. Titus returns home after serving 5 years in prison. He was driving the car in which 2 of his friends were killed and another was crippled. He is worried about how things will be when he gets home. Will he be forgiven ?? Will he be accepted back and be able to stay ? Did the girl he was planning to marry wait for him? Will the friend that was hurt in the accident forgive him ? All these questions are weighing heavy on his mind every day. Then, he sees first hand what has happened to one family that is still struggling from their loss 5 years later, and realizes he must help them. Will he be able to build the family back up with his help ?
Amy Lillard has again given us a great book in the Well's Landing Series. Faith, love and forgiveness are a big part of this story. I enjoyed this series and so will you.
When Titus returns home after 5 years in prison, he is unsure if staying in this familiar town is the right thing for him to do. Adjusting to life after prison, and knowing the true story of what put him in that prison, is part of what Titus has to learn to live with every day. Will his past relationships with family and friends be tested or will he be accepted as he returns home? This is a story filled with emotions, as the author touches the heart of the reader with sadness, despair, PTSD, and also, forgiveness, trust, love and faith. I enjoyed this story very much. I was given a copy of this book by the author and this is my personal opinion of the story.
This was a great story regarding Titus. He lived through so many experiences. It didn’t take me long to read it, like two days. Titus made quite a sacrifice that the majority of people would not do. This would make a good movie for sure. I have to be careful what I share, would not want to ruin the story, you need to read it yourself. I highly recommend your reading this book. You won’t be sorry for sure. It amazes me that there are so many great stories coming out of these authors. It has to be a gift for sure.
Titus Returns by Amy Lillard full of emotion, romance, and suspense. This book flows easily and grabs you by the heartstrings when it deals with alcoholism, PTSD, forgiveness, and martial strife.
Titus spoke to me throughout the book. I felt so sad for the ordeal he went through and the struggles he had to overcome when he came back home. He just wanted other people to forget and forgive. Forgiveness is hard though for some people in the community. As they deal with their own healing, he tries hard to win back their respect.
On the other end of the spectrum, I had a strong dislike for Mandy. I did get over this and in the end my feelings became a little softer for her.
Titus Returns kept me up through the night reading and I still didn't get finished! Just about the time I thought I knew how it was going to end, this book took yet another twist. So the ending had to wait till morning!
A wonderful wonderful read. I was given this book by the author in exchange for my honest review.
Once again author Amy Lillard gives us a book you don’t want to put down!
Life after prison is hard on anyone but it was especially taxing on Titus Lambert. Life in prison was hard on Titus, a young Amish man. Although already baptized, Titus had gone to a party with friends Alvin King, Eli Glick and an English friend, Blaine Carson. Titus found himself behind the wheel of Blaine’s car driving them all home with Alvin constantly trying to get him to go back to the party. That changed his life forever. Alvin and Blaine lost their lives in the accident and Eli was left in a wheelchair for the rest of his. Only Titus was unscathed, at least physically.
Titus lost everything…. his freedom, the girl he planned to marry, his place in the family business, his standing in the church…. everything. How do you come back from something like that? He caused two deaths and left one friend paralyzed.
The Amish are raised to forgive and Titus knew they would say they forgave him but, would they really? He couldn’t even forgive himself. Read Titus’ story…..you’ll love it!
Titus Returns is A Wells Landing Romance by Amy Lillard. Amy sure knows how to write a story that will grab your attention and not let go. Characters that seem so real with what they have to endure. This is a story of heartache, pain, faith, trust, love, longing and acceptance. Titus’s story will surly take you on an emotional roller coaster ride. Be sure to order your copy of Titus Returns by Amy Lillard today. 5 stars!
Loved this fifth book in the series. This can be read as a stand alone or since these are all good you should read them all. This was a little different for an Amish story with Titus coming home after five years in prison. This was well written and a beautiful story. I really love all the characters. This treated depression and ptsd well. I received an ebook copy of this book from netgalley for a fair and honest opinion.
i would love to give this book a 10 stars but it only goes to 5 stars. it is a very awesome book to read and i will not say nothing else read the book yourself and decide. i would recommend it to all readers. Amy Lillard you did it again AWESOME work God bless you
Once again Amy Lillard does not disappoint! I've loved all the books in both her Clover Ridge Series as well as her Wells Landing Series of which Titus Returns is the fifth book. Next up is Marrying Jonah which is Sarah and Jonah's story and I for one can't wait.
The people of Wells Landing feel like family. I've met them and seen their stories come to life as they mingle with others in the Amish community or outside of it in the Englisch world. The Bishop is fair but definitely knows what he wants of his church members. He's a great resource to those in the community as they come to grips with where life is taking them.
This is Abbie and Titus' story and it was heartbreaking, heartwarming, comforting and real. When Titus returns home after being in prison for five years he doesn't know if he really belongs in Wells Landing anymore. Abbie, whose twin died in the accident that Titus went to jail for, is not forgiving even if it's against the beliefs of the Amish. As they get closer due to Titus' remorsefulness and help he gives freely on her family's decrepit farm, she starts to forgive him. But does she really? His ex-girlfriend, Mandy, who married another while he was imprisoned now is sniffing around and believes they should be together which also goes against the Amish belief that you marry for life. Titus is always caught in the middle and reflects on his life, where he's going and whether to ask for forgiveness and rejoin the Church or leave and start his life elsewhere.
There were many emotions involved as I read. Laughter, tears, anger, sadness, hurt, fear, love, friendship, forgiveness and letting go. There were family and friends, the Amish businesses, the farm, the animals, partnerships, services, prayers, accidents, buggies and tractors, food, clothing and get togethers. Titus' family tried to be there for him even when he pushed them away over and over again. Their bond though was strong enough to withstand everything he dished out even when he didn't want it to be or did he? Watching Abbie and Titus take two steps forward and one back was disheartening especially since they formed a special bond when working together on the farm. There was wonderful closure and loose ends mainly tied up. There was a happily ever after in the offing and things seem to be right in Titus and Abbie's world. I closed the book with tears in my eyes looking forward to reuniting once again with the neighbors in Wells Landing.
Titus Return is Amy Lillard's latest installment in her Wells Landing Series. If you haven't read the others in the series don't worry, you won't be left behind. Titus Returns is the first book I've had the privilege(sp?) of reading in the series and I definitely plan on going back and reading the rest.
Titus Lambert isn't sure he can do it. What's that saying? You can't go home? He never truly believed it before but after spending 5 years in jail he isn't sure he can face the past. Maybe he should just stay in the English world and not trouble the community any more than he has. But he's not a coward and he knows he's going to see his family, he owes them that much. It's just a lot harder to battle the ghost than he thought it would be.
Mandy Yoder loved Titus Lambert with all her heart. She promised to wait on him, forever and a day she said. However, five years is a long time to wait and see all your friends grow up, marry and have babies of their own. So when, Levi Burkholder starts coming around declaring his intentions to court her, she decides to take a chance and ends up marrying Levi. Now with Titus back in Wells Landing what does that mean for her and Levi? The Amish marry for life but what if you've made a huge mistake?
Abbie King hates Titus Lambert with a passion. He was the one driving the car that killed her twin brother. She knows it's the Amish way to forgive, but she just can't bring her self to do it. Her dad is drinking and left the running of the dairy farm to her. Her mom can barely get out of bed and has all but lost the will to live. So, yeah, she's angry and she's not afraid to let Titus Lambert know just what she thinks of him when she sees him.
I was blown away by Titus Returns. I have to admit, I never really thought about what it would be like for an Amish man, or woman, to go to prison. I always assumed that the wayward would be automatically welcomed back into the fold. It's hard sometimes to remember that the Amish aren't robots or super heroes. They struggle with forgiveness and anger and other issues just as we do. Amy Lillard handles each subject with such respect that it makes you think, What would I do in this situation?
I felt bad for Titus, he's served his sentence and yet he keeps punishing himself. He can't forgive himself for the death of his friend, Alvin and the Englisher and putting his other friend Eli in a wheel chair. He struggles to believe that this could be in God's will. Why was he the only one to walk away unscathed. Surely the community will never truly forgive him for the wrongs he's done. He fears he will constantly be judged even though people say they forgive him. He carries so much guilt that I was afraid he would never recover.
Abbie King was by far my favorite! She's still hurting after losing her twin Alvin. She's doing her best to move on but it isn't easy. Left alone to care for her parents in their grief stricken state, she can trace all her troubles back to Titus. The nerve of that man to waltz back into Wells Landing like all was forgiven. Not by a long shot, Abbie is just waiting for the opportunity to tell Titus what she thinks of this whole situation and then tell him to go fly a kite. I loved her because she was so real. She struggled with anger and the ability to forgive. You could feel her grief pour off the page. I just wanted to wrap her in a hug and let her know everything would be alright.
Mandy Berkholder got on my nerves. I hate to say it, but she did. She was blinded by what could have been that she nearly ruins what a great thing she has now. She always seems to be pining for something; Titus, a baby, her husband to pay her more attention. She truly believes the grass is greener on the other side. I almost shouted Hallelujah when Titus told her that they stood absolutely no chance together and that she should go back to her husband. It was then that Mandy realized her unseemly behavior and started to make things right.
Titus Returns is a tale of love, loss, tragedy and healing. I got swept away in the emotion and the story so much so that I hated to see it end. I can't wait for the next installment to catch up with the residents of Wells Landing and see how everyone is doing. I truly hope you will pick up a copy of Titus Returns and enjoy the magic for yourself.
*I was provided a free copy of this book. All opinions expressed above are my own.

Praise for Amy Lillard An inspirational story of romance, faith, and trust will appeal to fans of Wanda Brunstetter and Beverly Lewis.
My Review:
Well, one thing is for sure life is never dull in Wells Landing. It has some many nooks and crannies to capture your attention and focus that you will never be bored. Here we are again drawn into Mrs. Amy Lillard's very touching series entitled, the Wells Landing series. In Oklahoma, there is much work to be done.
At every turn you will find ranchers, farmers, and even bankers. But what I love the most is the Amish folk. And don't ever think for a minute that they have a dull life based on the fact that their lives seem so utterly simple--because that is simply not true. And Amy Lillard can prove it.
Poor Titus! I felt such pity for this character. He had to serve time for a car wreck that took the life of someone in his community and after his time was served he decides to face his demons so to speak and it seemed hard for everyone involved.
Titus is trying to do whats right by everyone and fix past pain and soon finds himself with feelings he isn't sure how to deal with. Titus is learning that we all get a fresh, clean start and I think it is overwhelming to say the least.
His heart for all intents and purposes has belonged to Mandy Yoder all these years but then the promise of someone and something new creeps up and now he must choose.
Amy writes a feast for us to behold this holiday season. Titus Returns is a great coming home sort of novel. It is a quick read that I finished in one day and it will leave you longing for the next book in the series. Great read all the way around!
**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the author. All opinions are my own.

“Titus Returns” by Amy Lillard tells the story of an Amish man who is sentenced to prison for five years. He was the driver in an accident that killed two friends and sentenced another to life in a wheelchair. Although he has not told the true story, he paid the price for his bad decisions. After his release, he returns to his home of Wells Landing. His time in prison was hard and he now has to decide whether or not he will remain Amish or leave the community.
He finds life on the outside is not easy to adjust to, even with his family. His former girlfriend has married another but is convinced that Titus should run away with her and live Englisch. She thinks that she is still in love with him.
Abby King, on the other hand, doesn’t want anything to do with Titus because it was her twin brother who was one of the friends who was killed. Life for her family has been very hard since the accident. Her parents are suffering from deep depression and the farm is showing signs of neglect. Abby it trying to do it all and bring the farm back to the way it was, but she is struggling. Titus decides that it is his duty to help her and the King family recover. The story continues with Titus being pulled in many different directions. He must decide what his future holds and make decisions for everyone’s good and find forgiveness for himself.
I enjoyed the book and I think that Ms. Lillard is a gifted writer. I am anticipating reading the next book in the Wells Landing series.
I received a print advance reader’s copy of this book from NightOwlReviews.com in return for my honest review. You can find this review on my blog at http://wp.me/p2pjIt-pA, and also other reviews on my blog at http://imhookedonbooks.wordpress.com.
Oh my! Another wonderful Amish story from Amy Lillard. A story of love, faith, and forgiveness throughout the novel. it's also an awesome page turner. I definitely burnt some midnight oil to finish this beautiful story. I felt sorry for Mandy but she did make her choice. As did I. So I can relate to her real well. Sometimes the choices we make are what God has planned for us all along. I liked Levi. He's a kind, patient man. Most men wouldn't do that. I admired him for that. Levi and mandy make a great couple. I'm glad she realizes it on time. Titus is a man who has gone through a lot. He has trouble adjusting and when Abbie comes along he wonders if she's the girl for him. Only time will tell. I'm glad Titus has family and a good friend plus God (although he doesn't realize it as the time) Grief can be terrible. We all deal with it differently. Emmanuel did it by drinking. Alcohol is definitely the root of all evil.It can turn people into a different person than what they normally are. Life can deal people like Titus a different turn from what they normally were. Years can definitely change a peson. It's how they choose to cope with it. I believe that we can do things through Christ of we let him in our hearts. We don't have to deal with it alone. He doesn't leave us, we Leave Him out of our lives. We think that we can do it on our own but we can't I enjoyed this book very much! I cried in some spots and rejoiced in others. Thank you Amy for another wonderful book! I received a copy of this book for my honest opinion
I used to read just about every new Amish fiction book that I could get my hands on at the library, and I enjoyed them, but as time went by I noticed that many of them told roughly the same story with slightly different names and locations. And then I discovered Amy Lillard's Amish novels. I still read a number of Amish fiction books each year, mostly from favorite authors who always deliver a great story. Amy Lillard is one of those favorites. There are similarities to the rest of Amish fiction but she also takes on some tough subjects that face Amish and English alike.
Titus Returns not only took on some tough stuff, like grief and depression, but it also was a good example of how the Amish really are just people like everyone else. They don't have some pie-in-the-sky faith that keeps life's problems and pain at bay and that allows them to magically forgive everything. They struggle through heartache like the English do, sometimes falling back on prayer and sometimes less effective means. Titus Returns was a little more serious in tone but it was a book that I could hardly put down. I really wanted to know what would happen next. Would Mandy make the right decision, could Abbie let go of her pain, could Titus forge through his problems?
Titus Returns is another great story in an interesting and very good series. I look forward to Amy Lillard's next trip to Wells Landing...
(I received a copy of this book from the author. All opinions are entirely my own.)
"I want to back, Alvin said. "We're not going back,"Titus said. But deja vu stabbed at his heart. He had definitely been here before. He hadn't gotten coffee. He needed coffee. He hadn't stopped, he hadn't changed anything. " I wouldn't mind going back, "Blaine Said. Titus glanced into the rearview mirror. Eli's head lolled against the seatback. He had fallen asleep while everyone else was chattering. "We're not going back, " Titus said. "Who left you in charge?" Alvin pouted. "I did. " Titus said the words even as he knew that he had said them once before. Nothing was changing. How could they get a second chance if nothing was different?
My Thoughts
"Titus Returns" is the 5th book in Amy Lillards Wells Landing series. It will have your heart feeling heavy in hopes that each character you meet gets a second chance. When Titus returns home, he often wonders how all this is possible, and how does he find him self still living here? Titus' struggle to find himself to fit in his community troubles him, as he contemplates if he still belongs in this place.
Lillard does an exceptional job bringing everything into a full circle . While you examine your own life and wonder if it were you in these circumstances if you'd forgive. In her writings, Lillard also demonstrates that forgiveness can only be obtained when we truly allow God to move in our lives, they way Titus learns to do. Forgiveness is never easy, giving this beautiful story a read will provide some insight how to forgive, or to heal when seeking forgiveness.
Titus Returns is book five in the A Wells Landing Romance series written by author Amy Lillard. Set in Wells Landing, Oklahoma, an Amish community. Titus Returns is the story of Titus Lambert returning to Wells Landing after serving time for vehicular manslaughter. It's been 5 years since Titus has been in Wells Landing, he has changed in every way imaginable. When returning, he stops by the farm of Kings, whose son was killed the car accident, and is disheartened to see that it is falling apart. Titus wants to help them out, even though Abbie resents him but she needs his help. Helping Abbie and their evolving friendship is what Titus needs to heal his soul from all the turmoil he has faced. Things begin to change for Titus and he has a lot of decisions to make all he wants is a fresh start.
Titus Returns was a great story that I thoroughly enjoyed reading, I highly recommend starting with Book One but can tell you it can be read as a stand-alone. If you love Amish Fiction then you will really love Amy's books. She does her research and her writing style is one that I love. Titus Returns is the story of faith, love, forgiveness, friendship, and kindness that we so desperately need today.
I received a copy of this book for free however a favorable review was not required of me. All opinions expressed here are my own.
Titus Returns is book 5 in the Wells Landing Series.
This is a story of forgiveness.
Titus Lambert has spent the last 5 years in prison. He was the driver in an accident that killed two friends and left another in a wheelchair. Titus returns home to his family not even sure if he will be welcomed back. Has Titus's girlfriend Mandy Yoder even waited for him as promised? Titus decides that he has to help the family of one of the men that died in the accident, when he finds out that they are struggling and their farm is run down. Abbie King is not at all happy to see him as it was her twin brother that was killed. Can Titus be forgiven?
Although many of the characters from the previous novels in the series are mentioned, Titus Returns can be read as a stand-alone novel or enjoyed by reading the whole series.
I really enjoyed the story of Titus. I am looking forward to reading more of this series.
This story deals with PTSD, depression and alcoholism, romance and second chances. It opens your eyes to many of these issues and pulls some heart-strings along the way. I read this book in 2 days as the story line hooks you in from the start and you don't want it to end.
Well done, Amy Lillard. Titus Returns is a must-read!
I was given Titus Returns in exchange for my honest review.
I think this is the most interesting Amish storyline I have ever heard! So many different parts that intrigued me. How does an Amish man who has served jail time come home? How will his then-girlfriend Mary (who decided not to wait for him and married another) react to him being home? And will Abbie King forgive him for the accident that killed her brother? Can Titus even forgive himself? Let me just say that I was hooked before I even read page one. And my interest never faded as I was reading!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Titus's character showed great development and I thought the rate of his growth was perfect. There was an expression that Abbie said in the book that stuck with me as I was reading. She said, "I'm Amish, not perfect." How true! I think that sometimes as outsiders we hold Amish people to some unrealistically high standard and that isn't fair. This book was a great reminder that Amish are only human too. They make mistakes just like we do. And they struggle with forgiveness maybe even more so.
I am anxiously awaiting the release of Marrying Jonah so I can visit Wells Landing again! I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
Amy Lillard gives us, readers, a topic to read about that has not been covered the way she wrote "Titus Returns". Amy's detail to the story line is mesmerizing to the imagination.
Titus Lambert returns to his home town of Wells Landing, Oklahoma after being in prison for five years. He is still questioning God's plan as to why he is the only walking survivor and why did God want him to go to prison. What Titus does find in God's plan upon release is putting his guilt to use by helping one of the families he feels he has wronged.
Will Titus' Amish community have him back into the church as a member? Can the Kings forgive Titus?
I received a free copy from NetGalley with the only request to write an honest review about the book. No money was exchanged. This is my review written in my own words.
As you see by reading about this book, Titus has returned from jail, still full of guilt, and feeling that he has wronged everyone in his community. He decides to put his guilt to a purpose he takes it upon himself to help the Kings, Alvin had been his best friend, and his twin Abbie has not been able to forgive. We see the consequences of others actions here, and what a reminder, and unfortunately the domino effect of how so many lives are touched. Now he has to face his demons and ask his Amish Community for forgiveness, part of their faith, easy to say, but hard to do. Just when I felt the book was wrapped up, wow, a whole new set of problems show up, and this time, I felt that maybe the real catalyst for his leaving has presented itself. This book is really going to make you think, and is very unusual as you we don’t hear of Amish in prison, and the mind pictures of that is hard for me to conjure. This book is going to make you think, enjoy! I received this book through Net Galley and Kensington Publishing, and was not required to give a positive review.
Titus Returns #5 Wells Landing Series**** by Amy Lillard Titus Lambert has returned to Wells Landing after being away for five years—in prison. Will his family and Amish community welcome him home? Can he forgive himself and find his way back to God?
My favorite character in Titus Returns is Abbie King. After five years her heart still grieves the death of her brother, there is no doubt of her feelings toward Titus—she makes them well known. However, over time her heart changes as does Titus'...they just may find a way to be at least friends...possibly more?
I enjoyed the camels in the story, they bring a bit of humor, relieving some of the difficult challenges facing Titus.
Titus Returns is a story filled with emotions that are heart-gripping and gently touches upon some sensitive areas—PTSD, depression and alcoholism—as well as romance, heartbreak, trust, second chances, love and faith.
~I received an ARC copy of the book from the author, (no monetary gain were exchanged), this is my honest review~
Titus Lambert has spent five years of his life in the state penitentiary for vehicular manslaughter. Now he must adjust to life on the outside when he returns to his Amish community in Wells Landing. Abbie King’s twin brother was one of the victims in the car accident, and she is unwilling to forgive Titus. When Titus decides to help Abby’s family by doing chores and general up-keep at their farm, she is not at all happy. As they spend time together, Abby begins to realize there is more to Titus than she realized. The struggles Titus goes through are very real. Will he find where he belongs and in the process, find forgiveness from others as well as the ability to forgive himself? Will Abby find the happiness lost when her twin brother died? An honest story of hope, forgiveness, love and inspiration! Author Amy Lillard does research into the Amish and her stories are authentic. A must-read! I received an ARC from the author.
