Onyx Webb #7

Onyx Webb: Book Seven: Episodes 19, 20 & 21

Rate this book
More questions get answered in Book Seven and the timelines are narrowing much closer. Onyx Webb is a complex multi-genre mash-up that combines elements of supernatural suspense, crime, horror, romance, and more. The Onyx Webb series follows the unusual life of Onyx Webb along with a central group of characters in various locations and times. The billionaire Mulvaney family, piano prodigy Juniper Cole and her brother Quinn, paranormal show hosts Cryer and Fudge, and a few others make up the core of the series. Written like a book version of your favorite tv series ( supernatural soap opera like American Horror Story) each character’s story moves forward with most every episode. It may appear that the characters are entirely unrelated and yet episode by episode, the connections will become clearer. Like being an inch away from a spider web, with each book, the web will move further and further away revealing the full story of every character and most importantly, the stunning conclusion for Onyx Webb herself.

I'm not noted for my patience and so the wait between these books drives me crazy with that in mind I decided after reading book 6 I'd wait until the series was complete before I continued on but I just couldn't wait any longer and so I've dived in again.
I have to say I'd forgotten just how brilliant and addictive this series is, my only worry was after a gap of nearly a year would I have lost the plot. The answer is no, I was straight back in.
The book opens in August 2010 where Graeme Kingsley, one of the most sought-after personal trainers in the world has flown for a meeting with Quinn Cole. Quinn has decided to shed the weight and get his health back.
Then we're in Crimson Cove, September 2001 with George Dietz and his son and daughter, Aaron and Abigale who are organising the Onyx Webb film festival.
Same year and we're now in Charleston, South Carolina and Stan Lee Mungehr decides to visit the festival.
Then it's Savannah, Georgia October 2010 and Mika is trying to drag herself from the hole she's in,
Portland, Oregon 2002 and Noah Ashley is having problems of his own.
Quantico 2002 and Newt Drystad is still obsessed by The Leg Collector.
Crimson Cove 2002 and Onyx is not happy.
Quinn gets a call from Koda which takes him and Graeme to the Mulvaney mansion although once Graeme realises where they're heading he suddenly seems nervous.
So with a couple of exceptions all the major players are in play.
I still can't believe how much I love this series, all the seemingly random characters scattered through different times and places are all coming together and it's brilliant.
I know I keep putting this in these reviews but I'm notoriously hard to please and very rarely give 5* although if you look at my reviews for these books you wouldn't think so.

Things are getting mighty interesting in the world of Onyx Webb.

In this installment, many major plot lines are brought into sharper focus, more events and relationships are drawn closer together and really giving way to the big picture. To coincide with this, the time period is also being pulled tighter. Throughout this entire series, important events and time periods have always been decades apart, spanning the early 1900's to the early 2000's. Now, the past is nearly catching up to present day, and really giving a heavy air of anticipation with waiting to see what's going to happen when the past and present collide. And collide they will. Probably in an explosive manner.

The entire Onyx Webb series is truly an outstanding one, but the authors really outdid themselves with these episodes. Not only are they deftly giving readers enough suspense to induce sweaty palms, but they've also managed to finally portray Onyx in a more positive light. Not that being dead is favorable, mind you, but they've managed to add a little brightness in her otherwise dim and dark existence, and I like the direction they're taking with her. I'm also super excited that with each new episode, another ghost is introduced. Some are surprising, some are 'old friends', and I absolutely love the air of mystery that surrounds every character that is no longer of the living.

The only bad thing about this series is reaching the end of each book and waiting for the next one. Seriously, if you haven't started this series yet, give it a go. There's something for everyone -- a little romance, mystery, murder and mayhem, ghosts, dysfunctional families...the list goes on. But really, the Onyx Webb series should appeal to just about anyone who likes a good, well-crafted story.

*I was gifted a copy, without compensation, in exchange for my fair and unbiased review.

It’s Halloween evening. The last of the trick or treaters have come through and there’s still candy left. Getting comfortable, I close my eyes and pretend to crack open book seven in the Onyx Webb series, briefly wishing my Kindle would offer book opening sound effects and smell-o-vision (mmm, the smell of a used bookstore). Settling in, I rapidly tap through the pages, my eager brain eating up what Richard and Andrea have brought me.

It’s difficult to review this series without offering spoilers but as I’ve been greedily reading each episode as they come, I will say that the authors have a flare for the macabre, their love of language is obvious with each tap of the page, and their ability to create memorable characters (in a world where anyone can publish with a few clicks of a mouse) makes the world of Onyx Webb that much more powerful, more enjoyable, and much more addicting than that bucket of chocolate still sitting by the door.

If you haven’t dipped your toes into Onyx Webb, what are you waiting for?

Onyx Webb book 7 episodes 19,20, and 21 are brilliant! Once again, my favorite two writers have sun another fascinating read. The characters I loved since the beginning are all here. What I love most about this series is that with new book there are a variety of genres combined into one stunning masterpiece. Readers can like one particular genre and be blown away with this book. Every possibility of disaster can occur as well as the paranormal side of things. Every page keeps readers like myself constantly on their toes. I never know what to expect from one episode to another. But with each book, parts of the story fall closer together. I really wish this series could be featured in as a TV show one day. I'd love to see these characters both bad and good step out into the lime light. The way the words are written the scenes as well as the characters come to life. Visually entertaining. Addictive because readers will want to know what happens next and keep turning those pages in a haste to figure it out...Richard Fenton and Andrea Waltz have outdone themselves when writing this book (including the other books in this series). Juicy details and plenty of action to keep readers hooked. Overall, I highly recommend reading Onyx Webb book 7 to readers everywhere.

I was so excited when i saw the book in my email. I have been waiting !! This book did not disappoint. I could have read it in a day but i wanted to savor every word. I almost cried when i came to the end. I have never been so excited about a series!! The story just gets better and better. Never boring and you cant guess what will happen next. So many twists and turns. It always amazes me how they can incorporate moments in history. I find myself googling an event they mention. The characters are captivating. I just love this series. Now the wait begins for book 8. I highly recommend this book to everyone !!!!

This far into a series a review is always difficult, this one especially so due to the soap opera serial style.

It's not amazing because it's about 3/4 through, so a lot of the content is just rolling along, not revealing anything new or noteworthy, but it's still fun and compulsively readable.

The only issue I have really is that the time jumps have started coming closer and closer together (from 2007 to 2010) so it's confusing from time to time when characters who have died are suddenly alive and talking. Not that it matters when it's a soap opera with talking ghosts.

Book Seven. The web grows tighter and more intricate. We learn more about the world of ghosts. We meet more of the dead. Superbly written and highly addictive, with hits of horror and humor. I have resolved that my sleep patterns are not going to be normal until I finish this series. Those now embarking on book 1 are fortunate in their ability to binge read most of the series. Start with book one and just binge it. You won't be sorry.

Book 7 starts off bringing Quinn Cole to the forefront. Until now, his character had been mostly forgotten. This in turn leads to a couple more forgotten characters from the past, one in particular thought to surely be gone forever. But as you quickly discover in this series, anyone can show back up at any time. Amusingly, there was a pie fiasco, a murderer’s blunder, and even surfing for funny cat videos.

I am so addicted to this series. It ensnares you in its darkness, but in a light-hearted way. The authors are adept at always being at least one step ahead of the reader in making unexpected and sometimes shocking connections. That is what makes this series so fascinating….and addictive.

I received this book to give an honest review.
How can a series just keep getting better and better, I have no clue! This is an amazing series that just keeps pulling you into the web that has become joined by the characters. It is amazing how we have gone from the past to the present and the characters are entwine in some way or another. We have characters who have never believed in ghosts before become believers and will try to find the answers the ghost want. We will get a glimpse at Juniper who will hopefully give her brother the peace that he is needing. Even Declan's past will come to him and he will find that he can not hide away forever with things that are not his.

It is hard to write a review without giving anything away, because it is easy to do. If you like ghosts, murder, mystery all wrapped up into one then you really need to check out this series. It is one that will pull you in and not let you go.

FENTON and WALTZ carry on with the 7th (out of a projected 10 but one can always hope) ONYX WEBB Book containing Episodes 19-21. This one, like all the preceding entries is about 250 pages, or just enough to swallow in one gulp. Everyone is here, and in fine fettle. Way back when, in ONYX WEBOOK ONE, almost all the characters were alive, except for the narrator, Onyx herself. Now, by Book 7, although I have not done a thorough quantitative analysis, it seems to me that at least 50% of the characters, many of them principals, are ghosts. Don't get me wrong, I'm not prejudiced, but who knew that there were so many ghosts walking among us?

There are relative few (new) deaths for an Onyx Webb Book in this one, but one is especially grisly. Stan Lee, my fave, is nicely featured, but one gets the feeling that between his psychosis and increasing addiction to ketamine, he might just be starting to slip up a bit. He makes a bad error here that may or may not come back to haunt him (of course, pun intended). This does not stop him from causing some serious problems for the Mulvaneys, particularly Declan.

Mika has several nice moments, receiving badly needed help from an unexpected source. Still, despite the fact that she has more downs than ups, she still manages to screw over some folks. Mika is a real bitch and it doesn't look like she's going to go down easy.

Quinn decides on a self-improvement plan, reconnects with the Mulvaneys, and the web of Quinn, Koda and Juniper gets much tighter, while Pipi and Alex are still pursuing the Leg Collector, and Alex gets a new helper with benefits.

OK, that'a all the non-spoilers I have for this review. As always (I repeat myself endlessly here), the writing, plotting, pacing and character depth are all outstanding. As has been the case for the last couple of OW books, vague images of what the end game is going to look like and how every one and everything is connected are starting to appear and grow clearer with each new Episode. As usual, I stopped what I was reading (FATHOMLESS by Greig Beck) to read ONYX WEBB BOOK 7 the moment it appeared, and like a great stage act, at the end, it only left me screaming for more.

Most Highly Recommended (But you have to start at the beginning with BOOK ONE).

>Book Review - Onyx Webb -

>I am an independent reviewer. This is book 7 in the Onyx Webb series and contains episodes 19, 20, and 21.

>The theme of this book should be "tease". The reader is teased as to whether Onyx will have another love interest. The lawyer and his grandson play a major role in this book, along with the lawyer's wife, Kizzy. She is the epitome of unpleasantness. Mika's fate is also teased. I screamed at the reveal of that whole situation. If anyone deserves a nasty end, it would be Mika.

>Secrets are revealed in this book. Stormy, Graeme, Juniper and Onyx all learn to trust and share their individual secrets. So much is still unknown, though. The fate of Declan and Robin being main concerns. This series is like riding a train. The train leaves the station slowly and over a bit of time gathers speed until you have to settle in and enjoy the ride. The series is coming to a close and the train shows no sign of slowing. Will there be a cataclysmic ending or an abrupt slowdown?

>This book is appropriate for a young adult (16+) to adult audience. I am giving this book 5 stars. These books are the most fun I've had reading in a long time.

I believe this is my favorite book in the series so far. Here everything seems to be pulling together and accelerating towards something. Plot lines are pulling closer together and relationships are starting to hit points of breaking or beginning to approach moments like that. it is all very tightly paced and difficult to put down and scene after scene grabs hold and gets your attention. In there earlier books there always seemed to be one story line or another that didn't capture as much of my attention as the others. It wasn't one particular plot line or character but instead it felt for some reason like there seemed to be one I was less engaged in than the others and each book the one it was seemed to shift but not here. Every plot line was engaging, every character had my attention and as the time lines continue to move along it somehow feels like all of them are simultaneously leading towards something with a building momentum. When I get to the end of the so far written books its going to feel like being on a locomotive hitting the end of unfinished tracks and derailing as I wait for the final books to come out.

I swear, every time I finish another book in this series, I think it can’t get any better. These newest episodes prove me wrong, again.

There’s no way I can relate what happens in this book without spoiling it for you. You just have to take me at my word when I say it’ll have you biting your nails, begging for the next revealing chapter. It’s so damned good.

As we get closer to the conclusion, more secrets are revealed, the past and present draw closer together, and more questions are answered. And you get more and more creepiness and suspense. The theme music from Jaws echoed in my head while I was reading this. You know something is about to happen, just not what or when. With only a few more books to go. I’m itching to find out what happens.

This is such a great series. I sure hope you give it a go. If you do, make sure you start at the beginning. It’s the only way to read it. And it’ll be worth every penny.

I received this book free of charge from the authors.

Best. Halloween gift. Ever.

Just when you think you've seen the end of one character, they come screaming back into the series. Living, dead, and everything in-between. I'm excited to get back into the Juniper Cole story as it's only been touched on a little bit since the first book. Even more of a wonder, Mika, who has consistently been my least favorite character, has become more and more endearing the longer she rides the "hot mess express." It's honestly so refreshing to read a book that's this unique and unpredictable. I'm dying to read the rest of the series but I'll be sad when it ends.

I received a free copy of this book from the authors, but my reviews are honest. This is one of my favorite series of all time.

Book seven of the Onyx Webb series brings the story to a whole new level. It is even more gripping (I didn't think it was possible) than the previous books as the pace quickens. We have new ghosts (disguised as living people) and ghosts trying to get revenge on other ghosts. But of course many of the living characters are worse than the ghosts.
Declan is in trouble. Mika gets in trouble. Stan Lee gets sloppy. What about Newt's love interest Maggie? Finally got in touch with Juniper. Went to the Onyx Webb Film Festival.
If you like paranormal and haven't read any of the books yet, you have an advantage. You can keep reading and not have to wait for the next book! Until you get to the end of Book Seven, that is.

Excuse me. I have to go cover my mirrors.

I received a free copy.

As I waited & waited for book 7,in this series to arrive I thought about my friends;these characters created brilliantly by authors Richard Fenton & Andrea Waltz,I predicted where the authors were going,I think I was wrong on every single one,not sure yet,as I painstakingly wait for book 8,perhaps I will know then, but I doubt it.With cliffhangers in this book beyond the famous "Who shot JR" of Dallas fame in the 80's,If you have not yet discovered Onyx Webb, stop what you are doing & read these books surly to be a TV series, better then anything on currently.I have truly been "webbed"
Thank you Andrea & Richard for my latest obsession.

another great read in the series. Im liking how all the ghosts are getting out more and more in the book. I was rooting for Newt and his girlfriend of five years until a shocking revelation came to him. I felt bad for the guy really. and my heroine is still Onyx. I just love that character alot.I have from the start and although I dont like Mika much, somethings she was up to this time were quite funny, especially the pie episode. this series of books have been my favorite and I cant wait for the next one and I am so very thankful I get to review and read the books when they come out. Many thanks Andrea and Richard. I sure enjoy them.
