Page one and Taylor Brooke brings us back into Brooklyn’s world of conflict with a feeling of awakening in unfamiliar, yet dangerous surroundings as Brooklyn finds herself a prisoner of Isolation and Juneau Malloy. Discovering the treachery her captors will go to to test the Omen training her imprisoned rebel team has received is both brutal and cruel, but she is determined that she will not be forced to be his puppet. Will Brooklyn be forced to give herself over to the evil of the auction block to save her friends? Will they accept that from her? It’s survival of the fittest, the smartest and the most deadly, but will it be the side of good or the evil of Isolation?

Echo Campaign picks up after the events of Omen Operation and Taylor Brooke doesn’t let up on an earthquake of action, emotion and intrigue as a brave group of Omen renegades battle for their lives, freedom and their very sanity as time after time they are forced to face the unknown as guinea pigs and try to find a way out.

Maintaining the same rapidfire pacing, filled with high energy, Ms. Brooke brings home another fabulous science fiction read. Brooklyn has matured, is stronger and more willing to do whatever she can to save her friends. The dialogue is brilliant as each scene plays out and the settings themselves are mental feasts that flashed across my mind! I was no longer reading about a tale, I was living it! This is the power of an author who gives her all to her work! Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys great writing and reading and an author who isn’t afraid to put the weight of humanity’s survival on one young woman's shoulders.

I received an ARC edition from Taylor Brooke in exchange for my honest review.

This was a very enjoyable read and the next book seems like it'll pack a punch. That's probably my expectations speaking, but with the way it ended I can't help but speculate. I'll only know if that's a good thing or bad thing when I get my hands on the next book in this series.

I adore Brooklyn as a character. She's the right amount of protective mother hen and badass. It seemed she was much more emotional this time around and I can't say I disliked it. It made her more human when compared to the rest of the gang.

All the side characters were very involved in this novel and I applaud the author for that. Though I did find myself getting lost in character names and physical appearances a few times. I will confess that I don't necessarily like jumping around in different character point of views, but I can admit that it did work for this story. Without all the jumping around half the story would be a mystery and there would be no point to it all.

The plot twists that happened in this novel were very strategically planned out and I loved every second of it. One of the twists that threw me for a loop was the one involving Porter. I still don't know what to think and I can't help but feel that I'm missing something.

My Favorite Quotes:

"Danger's been my middle name for the last two years."

"Time is a social construct. We don't get to decide what happens, but sometimes we get to decide when."

"Better is a strong word, but I'm getting there."

ECHO Campaign is the second book in the Isolation series and would, I think, be a confusing read if you haven’t read the first story. Brooklyn and her friends — all of them young adults in their late teens — were at a camp, training to fight, defend, and kill, and told they were some of the only survivors of a disease that had ravaged the planet. They were going to be the future, reclaiming the world from monstrous zombie monsters, helping create new cities so that humanity could thrive. One night Brooklyn and her friends escaped to find out everything they’d been told was a lie.

Well, not everything. There are monsters, failed clones of Brooklyn and her friends who became feral creatures that were hard to kill — hard for normal people to kill. Only, Brooklyn and her friends aren’t normal. They had all been given a vaccine when they were children that has turned them into super-soldiers and are now going to be trained to be weapons for the highest bidder. In this second book, the plot gets even more convoluted and labyrinthine as more details of Isolation’s plan — and Juneau’s twisted brilliance — are exposed.

I was lucky to do the review for Omen Operation not too long ago and I was really touched when Taylor asked me to do it once again for ECHO Campaign.

Let me be honest, I think my review for OMEN happened in April, and I have read tons of books since then, so as I started reading I was not 100% in the story. I would usually take the time to re-read the first book and then jump into this one but time is not my friend this week sadly.

So after a slow start as I was getting my brain back together and remember the stuff from the previous book and move on well, memories flooding and, I have to say that I really enjoyed ECHO Campaign. It kept the same spirit of the first book and continued on the story with so many more twists and turns.

Though I always remain as objective as I can, it is not really possible when you are reading a series that you enjoy. Straight up, for me not to love this baby, it should have been really really bad and the beauty of it is that it is REALLY REALLY GOOD!

It is still action packed so we have a good fast and steady pace, the characters as still as wonderful as before and Brooklyn I find is such an amazing lead. My one gripe is still about the spelling of Gabriel's name and the fact that I keep having to remind myself she is a girl. Which made me realise how deeply ingrained some societal norms in my psyche and how difficult it is to break them.

Who knew?

But still, mini breakthrough moment aside, Gabriel spelled like that still bugs me!

But, for the rest, it is so glorious and so frustrating at the same time. We have to wait again for an ending but I really like our new introduced super villain.

That one is bat shit crazy! (Should I say spoiler alert?) When are super villains not totally insane?

I mean, I will be honest there are some good questions that have been raised in terms of the evil master plan. Parts of me could see the why but then.... I think again and I am like no way!

Maybe I am cray cray too if I can see some validity to the evil one's arguments and from there (Spoiler) I can see where some characters come from.

In that way, it makes them so human... I guess?

Working on the assumption that this is going to be a 3 book series (could you please confirm Taylor) then I can already tell you that this is a fantastic middle book where a lot of things happen and you know already in your heart that when things are going to go down, well....

It will be....

EPIC!

No...

LEGENDARY!!!.....

This is honestly such a well written book and series in general, the characters are wonderfully complex and so real too in a way... and there is no way anyone can resists falling in love with our Brooklyn, Gabriel, and Porter!

IMHO.... resistance is futile! (Yes I know Start Trek reference)

So if you have not ready OMEN Operation, just go ahead and read it cause you are going to need it to enjoy ECHO Campaign.

The Review

ECHO Campaign doesn’t beat around the bush. From page one, we are thrown into a swirl of action and dangers along our heroine, Brooklyn. It was a delightful action read, but it dragged on for me in several parts, especially when the romance blossomed. I didn’t quite dived into the series looking for it, so it felt a bit out of place, you know? I mean, the book is nice, but I didn’t feel the crazy pull from the first to know how it ended… Somewhere along the way, I stopped caring about what happened to whom and this was very sad. I don’t regret picking this book up, but I don’t see myself reading the next either… So, three stars for the good action/thriller-ish packed read <3

The narrative follows Brooklyn’s point of view in third person style, which highly contributed for my persistence at keep reading the series. Brooke’s writing style is simple to follow, but also didn’t grab my attention with anything new. As I didn’t much care for the plot or the characters, I’ll just focus on the strongest point of this book: the action.

Brooklyn was SO BADASS in this book! Seriously, you guys have no idea. I’m taking Muay Thai classes at the gym right now, so I was thrilled to read about Brooklyn’s fighting style – not exactly Muay Thai, but all kinds of fight end up in the same fashion, trust me. I can’t wait to be a little more experienced to ask my teacher to teach me some of those awesome moves <3

Also, it’s always nice to read about a strong female character in YA – God knows how much we need more of those! Brooklyn is 21 at the beginning of the book and I could see a lot of myself in her. You know, when she thought with her head and not with her heart.

*~.Cover Analysis.~*

I loved this cover! It’s a huge improvement from book one’s cover and it pictures perfectly the atmosphere for the book. Brooklyn is trapped inside the enemy’s facility, so the white in the background makes perfect sense. Also, it was a genius move to use lime green and yellow shades on the words, both on the title and on the author’s name, as both colors are really related to Sci-Fi, haha! I also loved the fact that the model wasn’t over photoshoped: she still looks real, you know? Seriously, this cover puched all the right buttons with me <3

If you like action, diverse characters and conspiracy theories, sit on a comfortable spot and read on this baby!

Thank you so much for reading! Also, thanks to Xpresso Book Tours for my review copy once again <3

Ok, so I'm going to try and keep my review vague so as not to spoil anything, especially for anyone still reading ECHO Campaign, or anyone looking to start the series. I don't want to ruin anything for anyone.

ECHO Campaign picks up where Omen Operation left off. If you haven't read book one, I won't spoil the ending, so just know that when you start ECHO Campaign, you won't be jumping in with the same characters you finished Omen Operation with.

The setting of ECHO Campaign is very isolated (wink wink) this time around. The Omens aren't able to move around as freely as before, which doesn't exactly sit well with some of them. They want to escape. But that seems impossible. However, nothing is ever impossible when it comes to stories about people with abilities, that's for sure.

Plot-wise, I have to warn you that you're in for a thrill ride of twists, turns, and "holy crap how did that happen?" moments. Surprises abound in these pages. There are characters you never expected to see again (oops, is that too spoilery?), characters you've never met before who happen to be quite shocking when their truth is revealed, and a familiar character with a crazy secret not even they know about until later in the book. It's exhilarating to fly through the pages (although I was a bit of a slacker with holiday planning and being sick taking away from my reading time) and discover the insanity that's lurking inside.

I absolutely loved ECHO Campaign. It was just as good as Omen Operation, if not a smidge better. And other than a few grammar errors I spotted, the book was absolute perfection. It's an emotional roller coaster, that's for sure. You'll find yourself dizzy and breathless by the end. I know I was.

If you haven't started the series yet, you absolutely need to do so now. And if you haven't had the chance to read ECHO campaign, well, what are you waiting for?! I highly recommend the book, and I rate it 4.5 stars out of 5. Can't wait for more!

**** 4 Cranky Stars ****

After being taken by Jeaneau, Brooklyn awakens in the uber clinical Isolation facility. The group of young people are subjected to a series of cruel mental and physical tests and training. They find that someone who is supposed to be dead is "repaired and alive.

Brooklyn refuses to accept that they "belong" to Jeaneau and kicks against the traces all the way and does not want to accept that they are being trained to be little more than weapons to be hired out to the highest bidder as assassins. Escape is in their minds all the time and help comes unexpectedly from an unexpected source. All, however, is not rosy, one of their number is a clone, one abandons their cause and the group becomes divided in their cause and they have to deal with the added danger of Asset 0.

The book followed seamlessly onto book 1 and was again an exciting and satisfying read and as with its predecessor deserves 4 stars.

ECHO Campaign is the second installment in the Isolation series and boy what an installment! It started off strong and jumped right in where Omen Operation left off! This book was much more terminator meets Stranger things then the first but I was in no way sorry. Kick ass characters, almost none stop action, a corrupt company? Yes Please!! I also Loved how much more we got to get to know our characters and what I in the first book referred to as a love square was much more than and better explained as a polyamorous relationship which I loved seeing and learning all about in a fresh at( lest to me) way! I also loved the new characters that were introduced and how they integrated with our original cast. I Almost cried at the cliffhanger of an ending and was very thankful for the sneak peek of the next installment which I am eagerly awaiting! Way to go Taylor Brooke! Can't wait till next time!!

No spoiler. No big reveal. Just plain and simple you absolutely need to stop here if you have not read book one, OMEN Operation. The first book sets the stage. This second installment allows for the overall plot to thicken. Things her become much more than Brooklyn could have every expected. But she will do what she must to survive and save her friends. She just never ever expected to find what she did.

She has been trained. Now she will be tested. Maybe even broken. But she will survive. This read just makes the Isolation series stand out and stand up in the post-apocalyptic sci-fi genre of the young adult reads. Things here stay fast paced, with no time to rest and recover. Things just keep coming and coming.

Get on board now. Book three, LEGACY Strain, in this series will be coming later this year.

The first book, Omen Operation, caught me up and didn't let go. This wonderful sophomore offering from Taylor Brooke surpassed every thought or wish I had for book 2. The rollercoaster starts and doesn't let you off until the end when you are screaming for the next book! I cannot say enough how great it was to see the characters break and rebuild themselves time and again. I will be (not so patiently) waiting for the release of her conclusion to this one of a kind series. Smart, devastating, quick witted, fast paced, adorable, action packed, with so much love... ECHO Campaign is must for everyone, not just YA fans or SciFi fans. Add it to your shelves, it won't let you down.

Save her friends—or save humanity.
Wow if you read the first book in this series and thought things were crazy in that one, you haven't seen what crazy really is. My favorite characters have to be Brooklyn, Porter, and Gabriel. What happens in this book, really makes me wish the third book was in my greedy little hands right this freaking minute.
The ending and what happens with the whole team is freaking nuts, but one hell of a ride. It ends with one freaking nail bitting cliffhanger, and I can't wait to see what happens next. What one of the bad guys wants to do is freaking insane, and I sure didn't see it coming that's for sure. I would definitely recommend this book for individuals that want to go on one freaking crazy and awesome adventure.
I asked to be part of this book tour, and this review is my honest opinion on how I felt about this very interesting book.

This book was super good. I’d say it didn’t suffer from Second Book Syndrome at all.

To be fair, I didn’t remember too much of the first one, but bits and pieces came back to me as I read this one. I had forgotten just how character-driven it was. Seriously, the dynamic between them was almost more intriguing than the plot.

It was just all over the place. Trust was mixed with distrust so frequently, and even when people made up it didn’t feel genuine. A lot of the “steamy scenes” didn’t feel right for one reason or another. The emotional aspect just wasn’t optimal. But really, who could blame them, with so much going on? I was never really quite sure who felt which way about whom at any given time.

But I could feel the emotion. Man, it was crazy intense. Mostly the rage and distrust. When they were mad, it was all-consuming, and for the reader too. I would put the book down to go do something and I would just be furious, and I’d have to stop and think about why and realize that the book had a lot to do with it. It made it a little bit difficult when the characters did things I disagreed with, but it was an interesting opportunity for introspection. I learned a bit about myself. I know that in the first book it took me a while to warm up to Gabriel, and in this book I didn’t like her much either, but she and I have a lot in common. Who she was at the beginning is who I would be.

I liked how each character was given a personality, but it blended together sometimes to the point where I felt like if there was a group decision to be made, there would have to be a dissenter (as per usual), and I felt like that role was given out randomly (most of the time). Few were inherently skeptical about everything. I don’t know, it felt like there were few personality traits that could be pinned down to specific individuals, and they were mostly pretty similar. It showed when they were being described, describing each other, even when they were given assignments.

As for the plot, it was pretty good. Again, nothing too out-of-left-field or super unique. Yes, there were plot twists, but nothing really shocked me. Just made things more interesting. It does make me curious about the third book. To be honest, as much as the characters drive the story, it’s the plot that makes me want to read more. I wonder why that is.

The writing was really good as well. Very well paced. The only thing is that the descriptions of the emotions they each sensed got a little distracting at times. I never did get all of them down, which scent goes with which emotion, but I got a few.

All in all, great book!

Brooklyn and her friends have been captured and are being held by Juneau Malloy. Juneau has them all training again but in more ways than what they were taught/trained at camp eleven where they were held before. Here they have to face some of their worst nightmare and learn how to cope with them. They have to fight clones of themselves.

Juneau has a deal for Brooklyn one where she has no choice but to make if she wants to save her friends but also one that Brooklyn has no intentions of keeping which of course she has no plans of letting Juneau know if she can keep it from him. He wants her to be his little puppet to do what he says for as long as he says. Juneau also has the same deal for all of her friends but they will not go against Brooklyn so whatever she decides they will follow after all she is their leader so to speak.

But Brooklyn is in sort of a predicament she doesn’t know exactly who to trust. Her best friend Gabriel is now on Juneau’s side or that is how it looks to Brooklyn and the rest of their friends. So who can she trust? Has Gabriel turned against them? Or is she just trying to survive and save her friends? Will Brooklyn save herself and all her friends from Juneau? Will they ever escape from Isolation? Will they ever be free? Can they save world? Will they become Juneau’s little toy? Or will they be the world’s worst enemy? To find out all the answers pick up your copy of ECHO Campaign today.

I would like to say that I have honestly and truly loved reading ECHO Campaign. It grabbed me right from the very beginning and didn’t let go until I read the last page. I loved following along with Brooklyn, Gabriel, Porter, Amber and all of their friends on their journey’s and can’t wait to see where they take me in the next book. It has been an amazing journey.

If you have not read ECHO Campaign then I would highly recommend that you put it on your TBR list today. Oh have you read the first book in the Isolation series Omen Operation? If not then I would definitely suggest that you do.

The stakes are higher in this second book of Isolation, and the opening of the novel draws you right in to the new reality of stress tests and medical procedures being inflicted on the genetically enhanced Omens. The tension between Brooklyn and her captors is only heightened by her relationship with Gabriel, who seems to be working with them, and her interactions with the other Omens. Brooklyn's got great emotion and fight in this book and she's got some serious chutzpah to react with constant rebellion throughout her torment and imprisonment.

However, I found the second half of the novel dragged. The prose in this volume is far more purple, or at least lavender, than it was in the previous book, and many of the scenes are overwritten. There's a lot of monster vs. man theme discussion but it tends to be slightly heavy handed, just to make sure we really get the message. It made the latter half of the novel difficult to get through. Every idea got repeated or spelled out so that took up more of the story than actual plot or action. Some of the character development that came from those sections was interesting, but I could have done with a lighter touch to convey the same information.

There's something of a left turn at the end of the novel that could lead to some really interesting things going down in the third novel, so I'm really quite excited to find out what happens next. The characters do shine here, especially the girls (read: Brooklyn, Gabriel, and Amber) and I loved seeing three different versions of vulnerable, badass, fun women instead of a typical novel which might include one two-dimensional love interest. Despite my misgivings, I'm really invested in them and their journeys, both emotional and physical.

3-3.5 stars.

My Review
5 Roses

Continuing the exciting adventure introduced in Omen Operation, this book is just as awesome. Bursting with adventure, danger and stomach-twisting plot turns, it feels more like a roller coaster than a book.

The characters are relatable and honest, and it's easy to picture them in the incredible situation they are in. Their comradery and interactions with each other give the whole story a wonderful layer, mixing perfectly with the suspense and "what's going to happen next" excitement. Some of the relationships were slightly odd, and while I could picture many of them going differently, they all flowed with a realistic amount of surprises, keeping me guessing.

The writing is superb, and I get swept up in the pages quickly. The flow is smooth and quick, and I enjoy the fact the story isn't filled with needless fluff, or repeated details. The author writes crisply and gets the story right to the point in every chapter, painting colorful pictures for each scene.

I definitely enjoy this series, and would recommend it to anyone.

*I was given a complimentary eCopy of this book, from the author via Xpresso Book Tours, to read in exchange for an honest review.

This is a non-stop action, which still manages to maintain character depth and humanity within layers of intrigue.

Brooklyn wakes to find herself in the heart of the place she'd fought so hard to avoid, but that's not the only surprise which awaits her. Somehow, she needs to figure out how to keep Juneau satisfied while saving herself and her friends.

I did not read book one in this series. Although this left a huge hole in background information, I had no trouble falling into the situation and connecting to the characters. In other words, this is not really a stand alone, but the reader won't be completely lost if they start with this book.

Brooklyn is a strong character with a big heart. Her friends are her highest priority, but this book is about her learning to see the bigger picture as well. It was easy to sympathize with her as she fought for what's right, but knew when to back down. By switching between a few other POVs, the other characters gained depth as well, giving this a well rounded feel.

There's a great balance between action and character depth. Although Brooklyn jumps from one dangerous situation into the next, there are also enough deep scenes and thought time built in to allow the story to have a fairly strong, emotional level. Especially the character interactions are well done as the bonds of friendship hold tight the whole way through.

There are many unexpected surprises, and it's not always clear which way Brooklyn will chose to go. The layers of intrigue thicken as the story progresses, making it hard to put the book down until the end.

Wow. I am absolutely in love with this book. I loved the first one and Echo Champaign is just as good, if not better, as Omen Operation. It's gripping, shocking and just so good! I love the characters even more now and still can't believe what I just read and it kind of still needs to sink in.
This book openly mentions trans characters, gay characters and problems in our society. The Omens have to fight against their worst fears, battling with losing their friends and family and new and old characters made this book absolutely great for me.

[spoiler]

I loved that Julian was the one who 'turned against' Brooklyn and his other friends and I'm so excited to see, what will happen with him and what's going on with Kirins plan.

[End of spoiler]

I can't wait for the next one and I'll definitely buy it, the second it's out.

Taylor,
I am so glad you gave me the chance to read the first book or I wouldn't have found these amazing book series. The universe you created is so complex and yet so understandable and I can't wait to see more of your books.

DISCLAIMER: I received a copy of this book as part of a blog tour.

First of all, strong female character. If that is what you expect from this book, that is precisely what you will get out of it, and more. This book picks up where the first book left off, so definitely read that one before getting into this one. This book was all kinds of excitement. The story is fantastic. How the author came up with such a tale, I don't know, but it's brilliant.

Just saying, if you like the Hunger Games, I definitely recommend you check this out. If has that feel to it, without the dystopia. You hang by a thread wanting to know what's lurking on the next page. A page turner, this one! Had me at the edge of my seat. I feel some books with a taste of suspenseful elements sometimes tend to cross into the "suspenseful" category in my brain. It can go either way with me, but luckily it was a really good suspense. The suspense of wanting to know what happens!

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher through the NetGalley book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255 : “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.”

Brooklyn never had the intention of getting caught in those woods. They were trying to get away, but Isolation has caught them.

Now they are going to suffer?

Just when you think it can't get worse, it does? They caught everyone, even Gabriela. Or is Gabriela working with Isolation? And who is this Kirin people keep whispering about?

"The Echo Campaign," is a great novel but is not fit for all ages. I would recommend this book to mature audiences 16 years old and up. The cover art is a masterpiece that was designed by Natasha Snow. I can't wait to read the next book in this acclaimed series.

The setting of the book narrows down the flow of the story and focuses on the strengths established in the first book, those strengths being Brooklyn and her friends, and their relationships with one another.
The author really brings out honest character growth and genuine emotion as the characters are all drawn further and further into a conflict they’re not in control of.
Another strong point of the book is the reality-based and engaging science fiction which continues to be a defining trait of the series.
Lastly, I left the book with nothing but anticipation for the final entry in the series. I can’t wait to see where Taylor Brooke takes Brooklynn and her friends. Definitely a must-read.

I would like to thank NineStar Press, LLC and Netgalley for this partnership.

I was immediately attracted to the cover of this book, you can see the young Brooklyn girl holding a snyper in her hand.

Brooklyn saw her worst nightmare come true: captured and then put in isolation, trapped in Juneau Maloy's labyrinth. She has a contract that either stipulates release or puts her through a terrible trial.

I loved this story so captivating and full of suspense and twists and turns with engaging characters. Too bad I didn't read the first volume that would probably have given me more information.

I went into this not realising that this was the second in a series. I picked up what had happened quickly when the story began and really enjoyed the world building the Brooke had. There was a wide variety of characters and this book was action packed. It was so quick and the moments of slowness really contrasted the action and the danger. I don't get why this is under the LBGT+ tag as there doesn't seem to be much if any, bar one encounter. That was the only downside for this book that is worth noting.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

ECHO Campaign was a killer sequel to Omen Operation! What a page turner! The action and intrigue is still there but the author gives us detailed insight into all the cool characters I fell in love with while reading Omen. I am a huge fan of this new young author and cant wait for the trilogy's final installment. Looking forward to many future works from Taylor Brooke!

This picks up where book 1 left off. Lots of fast action and intrigue. You really need to read the first book before starting this one. It was great to see further character development and the story progressed at a good pace. Another good read.

Surprised yet again with what this series delivers.
I love that I'm not spoon fed and that there are twists which I didn't predict.
The characters are growing and developing more layers, becoming not exactly who you think they are.
Well written, interesting, exciting and just a little bit different.

Solid sequel to book 1. Hits the teen angst button pretty hard, but frankly, I'm okay with that. I love watching the developing relationship between Brooklyn, Porter, Dawson, and Gabriel - we need more books that include diverse/non-heteronormative romantic relationships. Readers who enjoyed the Divergent books would likely love the Isolation Series.
