اقدر اقولكم ان الرواية بالرغم ان اول صفحة فيها جريمة قتل ثلاثية لكن الرواية مش بوليسية قوي يعني لأني لما اتوقع القاتل واغلب أحداثها من بدري وانا اساسا عمري ما عرفت القاتل ولا حتي في المغامرون الخمسة يبقي اكيد مش بوليسي
لكن ممتعة تشدك وسردها جميل وفيها جانب انساني بسيط بردو زي البوليسي كدا

Les auteurs scandinaves de romans policiers de haut niveau d'écriture, d'imagination, de sensibilité sont parmi ceux que j'apprécie le plus. Je ne connaissais pas du tout Carin Gerharden, que Est'l vient de me faire découvrir.
Pas déçu. Un peu de mal au début, le flou me déroutait un peu. Mais tout se combine progressivement et s'entremêlent intrigue policière, rapports complexes avec un parent ou une collègue. Et c'est bien imbriqué et captivant. Même si subsistent des zones d'ombre, à découvrir dans un autre roman? Ce que je ferai avec plaisir.

Having read all three books in this series in as many months I am officially hooked on the characters and what will happen to them next. With each book the cast of detectives have become more well rounded and complex as their back stories are revealed, influencing the way they behave and the actions they take, including occasionally distracting them from their investigations.
In the Last Lullaby they are searching for the killer of a mother and her two young children. When the description above says brutal, it is, though not gory – just shocking. It also seems to be totally random. The team can’t seem to find any reason anyone would want to kill the family or any prime suspects, though there is a mystery man they are keen to find. Adding to their frustration is the fact that a key member of their team has gone absent without giving notice, meaning they are resourced and Sonny is having to do a lot of the legwork himself, rather than leading.
As with the other books in the series, the story is told in days, with each day (or part of a day) being a chapter. This can make them quite long but they are broken up by looking at what different characters are doing on that particular day/time. I like how this makes it feel like the investigation is unfolding “real-time” – like I’m discovering things at the same time as the detectives.
The writing style is sparse, though there is probably a better word for it, with not a word wasted and the plot fairly simple, focusing on the one killing and the back story of one detective in particular. It was, however, no les enjoyable as a result because it is well written and has a good pace – not really letting up till the end. A real page turner – I liked this one a lot!

4.5 نجوم لرواية بديعة. نجحت في جذب انتباهي وإمتاعي بأحداثها المشوقة وشخصياتها الحقيقية والإنسانية جدا.. فيها الكثير من الألم ولكنه حتمي وفيها أيضا الأمل. الترجمة أيضا جيدة جدا. والاسم معبر للمحرك الرئيسي للأحداث.

Again ongoing stories personal and professional very active and interesting as Conny and his team work to solve a gruesome murder of a mother and two children. Segments appear describing someone being held in a shed. The team are concerned a member has disappeared and how very little they all know about their quiet colleague. As they try to piece together the life of the murdered family, many mysteries from the past, for everyone, come into play, including team members. Guilt again! This is a very well crafted storyline and it frustrates me that I’m forced to wait for the fourth book let alone the rest of the excellent series! Really recommend this writer, Carin Gerhardsen, Sweden.
8 books in this series but few English translations that I can find.....
WHY it takes so long for English translation I don’t understand. There are various languages listed but ....so slow with English!!

What can I say that won't give the plot away other than this is a good story. Carin has made so many of the characters so real to me because I've known so many of them working for my Psy.D. and working at a Psy. Hospital. It never leaves you, I'm retired now for over 10 years, but I can see these people.

This is the third novel in the Conny Sjöberg series (I am hoping that this series continues to be translated to English and available in the UK...).
When I began to read Carin Gerhardsens's books with Conny Sjöberg as the main character, I realised that this would be an ongoing experience, as the main characters and their involvements in the main plots and in sub-plots of their own keep on developing throughout each book and beyond, so you always want to read the next one to find out more.
This particular story has a very sad plot which , while also developing a very strong sub-plot for a female character and a more confusion for Sjöberg and his life.
These novels are harsh; the crimes are often incredibly cruel; and plot intricacies abound, but we still get to know the characters personally (although sometimes with Conny Sjöberg's character, I often just want to shake him), but this, nevertheless, does not produce the 'soapy' feel that some books by similar writers tend to produce and I think they are all the better for that.
I recommend The Last Lullaby and am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Hammarbypolisen hittar en kvinna och hennes två barn brutalt avrättade i en lägenhet. Man hittar inga spår efter mördaren och frågorna är många.
Anledningen visar sig ligga längre tillbaka i tiden än man först trott.
Sjöberg och hans gäng tar tag utredningen, men det verkar sakna en kollega.
Vart har Einar Eriksson tagit vägen?
Här blir det oerhört spännande direkt. Det börjar rent ur sagt brutalt, och efter den starten går det ju inte att lägga ifrån sig boken. Det är oerhört lättläst och man vänder sida efter sida.
Jag gillar hur Carin Gerhardsen väver ihop en spännande historia med mycket av karaktärernas egna problem och känslor. Samtidigt som man försöker hitta mördaren får man en inblick i hur de som löser mordet brottas med egna problem.

Rating 3.5 The author’s first book in this series was fantastic. Her second was awful. Because of her first book I decided to try this third in the series. It was good. The investigation is interspersed with some of the investigators’ personal lives which doesn’t subtract from the main plot but are rather interesting in and of themselves. The investigation itself is well done but I found the ending sad.

Ihan kelvollinen dekkari. Alku oli aika jäykkää kirjoittamista ja melko pitkään meni ennenkuin tarina alkoi kulkea paremmin. Loppu oli kyllä mielenkiintoinen ja hyvin kirjoitettu.

En kvinna och hennes barn hittar dödande i en lägenhet. Hennes man är samma kille vars barn Einar och hans fru tog hand om när de drunknade med bilen. Barnens mamma föder en son som dödar kvinnan och barnen och misshandlar Einar så han tar sitt liv.

Läste. En deckare i bra längd. Inte för läskig men hemsk pga av barnmord. Jag läste den här som första bok, men det är den tredje i serien. Jag kommer definitivt läsa de två första för att förstå relationerna bland poliserna. Som bok får den tre stjärnor, men som genrebok (alltså inom deckargenren) skulle jag ge den fyra stjärnor.

Was soll ich sagen?😅 Ich hab einfach eine Schwäche für schwedische Krimis.
Auch dieses Buch hat wieder voll und ganz meinen Geschmack getroffen. Die Auflösung auf den letzten paar Seiten war wirklich toll. Für mich waren alle offenen Fragen beantwortet und ich kann dieses Buch nur jedem weiterempfehlen, der einen guten Krimi sucht. Tolle Story und super Dialoge. Ich bin ein Fan!

Jälleen laadukasta Gerhardsenia. Alku oli ehkä vähän hidas, mutta päästessään lopulta käyntiin tarinasta tuli oivallinen. Gerhardsen osaa punoa juonen langanpätkiä nokkelasti yhteen ja kuljettaa pääjuonen mukana kaksikin sivujuonta.

Wieder ein super Buch aus der Hammarby-Reihe. Man sollte sie in der Reihenfolge des Erscheinens lesen. Viele persönliche Schicksale ziehen sich durch die Reihe. Sehr spannend.

Several, but not quite all, plot lines that have carried through this series are wrapped up here. Which means it would be really nice if the rest of Gerhardsen's Hammarby books would get translated into English! I, for one, would love to read more of them.

Tense, dreadfully sad ... I did more or less work it out before the end. Don't read this if you find reading sad things about children difficult, as there are a lot of dead children in this book, and no happy endings for anyone.

No niin, tukholmalaispoliisien elämä jatkaa hurjalla tavalla. Taas on raakoja tekoja tehty, missä kärsii kukas muukaan kuin pienet lapset. Ja aikuiset tietty. Conny Sjöbergin elämästä saadaan aikamoisten onnenkantamoisten ja yhteensattumien kautta todella paljon lisätietoa ja myös Connyn työtoverien ongelmiin sekä työpaikalla että yksityispuolella saadaan lisää tietoa. Ratkaisujakin on jo ainakin näköpiirissä.
Aika lailla nopealla ahmintatahdilla tämäkin kirja tuli luettua.
Jälleen kerran on pakko mainita, että aika lailla kurjaan valoon nämä kirjat Tukholman saavat. Tapahtumapaikat, jotka ovat tuntuneet turistin näkökulmasta kiinnostavilta ja mielenkiintoisilta, ovat nyt saaneet näitä tarinoita lukiessa varjon ylleen. Sinänsä ihan ymmärrettävää, koska eihän näissä jutuissa ole mitään hehkutettavaa ja raflaavaa. Silti, kun vertaa esim. Beck-, Joona Linna- tai Leona-tarinoihin, niissä voi suurin piirtein kuvitella olevansa paikan päällä, kun jotain toiminnallista tapahtuu.

jädrans bra, sidorna bara flyger föri, detta är en av mina bästa jag läst nu fast den inte är "nyskriven" -så är den ny för mig, har många böcker/författare av det slaget hemma...finns ju såå många 1000 tals så jag hinner inte läsa lika snabbt som det kmr ut nytt, så jag försöker varva.
hittar nya författare varje vecka med och böcker läggs på hög tills det blir hela serier (olästa.) började lägga system för min läsning i våras och det blev ännu roligare, för nu har jag koll
så boken då, den slog mig med förvåning, för jag sögs verkligen in i handligen, språket hon skriver på faller mig rätt och hon har gjort en förbenat bra historia, rakt igenom, inte seg emellan eller läsa 180 sidor före nåt händer so jag ofta stöter på tyvärr...så tumme upp, toppen, ska läsa hennes nya med och definitivt fler av hennes äldre.

Hammarbyserien är en serie som definitivt vinner på att man läser den i ett sammanhängande tempo.
Jag gillar Carin Gerhardsen och hade ett minne, när jag tog tag i den tredje delen, av att det här kommer att bli bra.
Felet är bara att jag tyvärr inte kommer ihåg huvudkaraktärernas privatliv och vad som faktiskt har hänt dem tidigare.
Så de delar som inte involverar just mordet på den här kvinnan och hennes barn blir som ointressanta avbrott och boken känns därmed hackig och spretig.
Det blir för mycket helt enkelt.
Men samtidigt går det inte att skylla på boken.
Det är inte du, det är jag, vill jag viska.
För sanningen är ju att händelsen runt allting är djupt tragisk.

It was with regret that I finished this book, the 3rd and last in the series to be translated into English.
I sincerely hope more will be translated - I believe there are 13 in the series so far.
This is Scandinavian mystery at its best, the characters are highly likeable, the crimes dark and twisted and the endings very satisfactory. Now I feel a bit lost, I want to know how life continues for the main characters! I also know that they're are others out there who feel the same; the Scandinavian fan site I belong to has many fans bemoaning the lack of more Carin Gerhardsen books. This is a hint to the publisher!
