"DON'T STOP ME-OW" STARTS NOW! Who's ready for a knock-down, drag-out, no-holds-barred CAT-FIGHT? Literally! Okay, it's kind of figurative because they're not *actually* cats, but it's pretty close. Felicia Hardy is on a collision course with Patsy Walker. You know what that means? It's Hellcat vs. Black Cat y'all! Featuring everyone's favorite teenage vampire Jubilee! But who's side is she on? Sharpen your claws because it's going to be a feline fiasco for the ages!
Kate Leth is a Canadian author and illustrator working in comics, animation, design, and feelings. A grown-up goth and pop culture devotee, Kate specializes in work for kids and teens. Their comics work includes Patsy Walker, A.K.A. Hellcat!; Girl Over Paris; Spell on Wheels; and Adventure Time, among others.
They live in Halifax, Nova Scotia with an absolutely ridiculous cat and several regrets. They are queer and genderfluid/non-binary, a fact that greatly influences their work. Kate uses they/them pronouns, but probably won’t correct you.
On the plus side, I love that when Ian said he was bi, he's actually down as being bi. On the "this feels weird" side, I'm not sure how I feel about his abusive ex being a Black woman? It feels kind of icky given how few there are in comics, and in THIS comic run? And how Ian's new happy relationship is with a white guy? Idk. It just kind of made me go "urk, this feels weird." (But also, props for showing than a man can be a victim of abuse by a woman? SO MANY LAYERS OF COMPLICATION.)
I can't wait for the next issue.love the whole flow of the story. It's what keeps me wanting more each time . I also love the way the art in the series .
