Everywhere we go we encounter people with too much to do and not enough time. We live in a world where we all have far more ideas than capacity to implement them. We think this is a good problem to have, it can be frustrating and depressing if you feel like you are always context switching and can never get anything done.
This is why we love Kanban. It's a simple framework with just a few principles which can radically change the way you work, both as an individual and as a team.
After coming into an agile workplace (disclaimer - actually working with Karen), I have been blown away by the effectiveness of these techniques and the pace at which we seem to move. Also coming from a people management background, I am doubly impressed by the visibility over workload and capacity that these principles allow. This book is a great and simple read for anyone currently using or who wants to use kanban to change the way they work.
