A paranormal phenomenon, a mysterious curse, and an unsolved murder forty years in the making.
Curtis and Mary Malone purchased their dream house in the small town of Redwood, Indiana, prepared for a fresh start. What they found instead was an elaborate conspiracy involving a mass murder that took place in their home forty years ago. Time is running out for the young couple as they discover that there is no escape from the spirits who haunt them, until, that is, the original killers are brought to justice. Will they solve the mystery in time, or will the dark secrets of Redwood stay buried for generations?
This is the last book (so far) in this paranormal thriller series. If you enjoy haunted houses with ghosts and a mysterious twist you will definitely like this mini series. I did enjoy the writing by this author and I hope he will continue to do so. I will most certainly read him again if he comes out with other books.
Although ghost stories are not my favorite genre, this one is an exception. The victims of a deadly massacre ghosts' are lingering in the Bechdel mansion. They are at unrest waiting for Mary Malone to somehow find them justice. Mary has some sort of psychic connection with Julie, one of the victims. Interesting plotline! Some very nefarious characters!! I give it 2 1/2 stars!!!
I expected a "ghost" story, and instead it was a decades old murder that was not even a closely guarded secret. Most knew who and didn't even care. This was a very simple story that was deliberately told in a convoluted manner for the sole purpose of stretching it out without improving the tale in any way.
This series was possibly the best short series I've ever read! My heart is still pounding & adrenaline is rushing through me! If you like ghost stories, you must read this series!
One couple must unearth the secrets of a small-town murder before it's too late.
A young couple from the city move to a small town, looking for a fresh start. They soon find their dream house in an old Victorian mansion and everything seems perfect, that is, until they experience strange supernatural occurrences linked to an unsolved mass murder from forty years ago. Unearthing the secrets buried within the mansion won't be easy. Can they solve the mystery in time, or will they face the same doomed fate as the tenants who came before them?
Take a terrifying journey into the new supernatural mystery thriller by best-selling author Roger Hayden, "The Haunting of Bechdel Mansion," where anything can happen, no one can be trusted, and doom awaits around every corner.
While book 0 was a little painful to get through, it was all worth it in the end. This last installment is a little predictable in the end, I think that's unavoidable for the author. Haunted Houses only have a few good ways to end or bad ways to end. If you've read or scene more than 10, then you've probably seen all the ways there are for a story like this to go. That's ok, as far as I'm concerned. What matters is that the author managed to have it end in a way that satisfies and doesn't feel like you've already seen it all before. It was well done. I had by doubts, but I am very glad I stuck with it in the end.
I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobook of this title within the series set box entitled "The Mansion Hauntings Super BoxSet." (Audible)
A flashback to the ten year anniversary of the massacre in the Bechdale Mansion, and what happens to four paranormal detectives trying to solve the murder mystery, which even after sll this time was still unsolved. Then, back to current day, when the current owners and another psychic is devastated by bad news and feel the spirits are getting restless and could really do some damage if they are not appeased.
The three books in the Haunting of Bechdel Mansion are really three parts of a single story. Each book is very short, and I think it would be better as a single book.
The story line is interesting and appealing. There were parts that were scary and I liked that. However, the writing seemed unpolished, as if it were a draft in progress. With a good editor and some revisions, I think this could be an excellent book.
What a great way to end a great series. I'm so glad Mary fulfilled her promise to Julie and was able to bring the victims of the Bechdel Massacre justice. If you are interested in books that touch on the paranormal and are full of suspense and mystery then this is definitely the series for you. I loved this series from beginning to end and can't wait to read more from this author.
The series is an interesting story of read in the proper order. The first time I read one of the books, I was not aware that it is a 3 book series. I liked the story, overall, and the suspense, but wish that the ending was more informative and allowed some semblance of closure. A couples of loose ends I felt could have been tied up.
On the whole this is an interesting story. Unfortunately there's some editing issues. Reading 30% of a story then having it jump back to the beginning and start over was jarring.
I was so caught up in this series I ended up reading the last part of the first and the other two books until I was finished. I just had to know the ending.
Wow! What an interesting haunted house story that was so much more. This story pulled me in from the beginning and held my attention as I anxiously waited for the final installment. The evilness that was revealed was very well done. I only wish that Theo would have hung around at the end of the story. This is the first series of books that I have read by this author and it leaves me anxious to read the rest of his work.
I received the prequel 1st and 2con book free on freebooksy.com all three books together made for a great read that I couldn't put down. I finished all 3 in just 2days. Spooky, and well rounded caricatures. I would love more of a fallow up ending. I was left feeling like there could be more books to come in this series.
In this final book of this series, we are given almost all of the answers to this paranormal mystery. With great care and detail the author takes us on a rollercoaster ride through the wrongs committed by the residents of Redwood. I wish there were more books in this series, but the author did leave a few things unexplained, so who knows.
If you enjoying haunted houses and a good mystery, you will love this book. Make sure to read the prequel. Its impossible to put this book down. It keeps the reader on their toes from start to finish. I look forward to the next book if there will be one. I want to know about the treasure! Thanks Roger Hayden fro keeping me entertained.
I loved this last book of the Bechdel Mansion series. It was worth the wait and I loved the ending - actually I loved the entire story and what makes it even better - it was free! I have other books by Mr. Hayden and I look forward to reading them.
Great editing, good ending. I would like some answers to why Theo left, as well as the other characters living or dead more depth and detail to there motivations and character. Still a good book.
