This book is one of my favorites books from my childhood. I lost my original copy, but a few years ago I found it on eBay! It is full of REAL, gripping stories from great writers. The illustrations are plentiful and colorful, and each story has its own, unique illustrations. Some of the stories are scary, some are laugh-out-loud funny, and some are sad. It's a great collection to introduce young readers to the art (and enjoyment) of the short story.

This is a book my parents purchased when I was young. I don't know if my siblings ever read it, but I totally latched onto it and have the copy from my youth. It's the mac-n-cheese of books - pure comfort. With stories by O Henry and Rudyard Kipling, there are some clear classics in here.
