You may not be his first wife -- but you want to be his last! More than half of all American women between the ages of 18 and 54 will date or marry a divorced man during their lifetime. Entering a relationship with any man is daunting. But entering one with a divorced man means navigating a host of new and complicated problems. Will remnants of his past -- his guilt, the X, their children, the financial and legal fallout -- wreak havoc on your sanity and finances and sabotage your quest for love? In this reassuring book, Leslie Fram combines fundamental wisdom, guerrilla tactics, and humor to inform and empower the millions of women who are dating divorcés -- and the many more who someday will.
I liked that this book was humorous and practical and quick to read. I’m engaged to my Divorced Man, so I really wanted to read this book for practical advice on finances and such. This book does a pretty good job of addressing these issues, but I didn’t like that she assumes the man is making more money than the woman. She didn’t even address a situation where the woman makes more money, and that’s what I really wanted to read about. It felt SO sexist!! She needs to release a new version without the antiquated notion that the man is always the breadwinner. So for that, she gets three stars.
This is a sexist, outdated, stupid mess of a book, and it's one of the funniest things I've ever read. I found this book in a box near a trashcan outside my apartment, and that's exactly where it belongs. This book is trash, but it's exactly the kind of stupid unintentionally funny trash that I love.
