The year is 2175. Ex-military Agent Cole Seeker works for REWIND, a top secret government agency. Thanks to a rare DNA marker in his genetic make-up, he is the only one capable of jumping back in time (for a maximum of 717 minutes) to prevent terrorist attacks and disasters from taking place.

When New Geneva suffers a nuclear strike, he jumps back in time to rewrite history and a race against time in what was once the heart of Switzerland ensues. Cole hunts down a ruthless but cunning terrorist that has escaped his grasp on many occasions during past missions. Cole is determined to end this man’s life once and for all, even if it means breaking mission protocols.

With the aid of his brain-enhancing AI implant, TAIHNA, Cole struggles to save the city from annihilation but soon discovers that nothing is as it seems. Now, he has to make an impossible choice with unpredictable outcomes...

Another amazing series. Once you get started, there is no way you can stop reading before you find out the end.

An action packed time traveler adventure with unexpected twists throughout
Not to far into the future (2175), Earth and its people are hanging on by a thread. Wars have reduced civilization to only seven domed cities scattered around the world - with humanity barely surviving. Only the one-percenters have easy access to food, water, clean air and comfortable shelter. The rest of humanity are hanging on by a thread just trying to survive.

Terrorists are trying to bring everything down and the government is trying to stop them. Told in the first person style, Cole, a super enhanced soldier time jumps 717 minutes into the past to stop the terrorists. Now, those terrorists have set off a nuclear bomb in the middle of New Geneva. Cole must jump back and stop the bomb before total destruction occurs- 717 minutes from now.

I originally only gave a medium rating as I thought the plot line was a little loose and thin. With this rewrite I'm upping my rating to 4-stars (I prefer more plot).
💣BUT, if you love lots of non-stop action packed with destruction, killing and super cool mechanics, this is a five-star story for you.

Be sure and pay close attention to every word and phrase: you may see our future coming over the horizon

Think what would happen if a dirty bomb goes off and you could stop it by going back in time and diffusing it.
This is the basis of this new set of books from Christian Kallias.
Cole is one of a small group of people who can travel back in time, all be it only 717 minutes back.
We follow him, being him, and find out what happened and what he can do to stop it.

As always expect action and adventure from Christian Kallias.

"Like a relentless cockroach he keeps surviving."
2175 and the Earth can barely sustain life, in fact it has been reduced to surviving within seven domes scattered around the world. But terrorism still exists and a nuclear device is due to explode inside the New Geneva dome, killing hundreds of thousands. The bomb is the 'gift' of arch terrorist, Ahmed Al'Hasi, head of the Allah's Angels Freedom Army. The highly secret Project Rewind doesn't officially exist but was developed to backtrack such incidents by turning back the clock for their special agent, Cole Seeker and his very personalised AI, TAINHA, known as Tanya, by 717 minutes, enough time, it is hoped, for him to prevent the incident before it can be implemented. "Humans are not supposed to rewrite their own history," so time traveller, Cole, has paid a high price to be able to survive it, but the privileges which come with the job are equally high: comfort, good food and available water even for showers, things most are denied. He is proud of what he does, feels that he serves society by his actions.
But this time feels different, wrong, and a dream of his own death has left him uncomfortable and afraid.

Written in the first person present, the reader is right inside the head of Cole, his primal emotions laid out for display. As well as the futuristic adventure of will be be able to stop the explosion in the short time available and thus prevent a nuclear holocaust? is the mysterious question of what is happening to him this time, and his strange feelings of wrongness with his personal situation. Every moment is tense, or questioning or action packed and the whole concept of travelling back to stop something which has already happened is both fascinating and, yes, just a wee bit mind spinning.

Good, engaging writing, clever characterisations of both Cole and Tanya as well as great interaction between them, is all tied up in an exciting story which tempts the imagination and raises interesting questions. Good science fiction and un-put-downable adventure. Wonderful

I found this to be an interesting series. Only a handful of people have the necessary DNA to enable them to be able to go back in time by, after much experimentation, no more that 717 minutes to stop certain events from happening i.e. a bomb going off, a train crash, etc. And you have a being, or conscience, or AI, that is in your head to keep you on track. What a concept here. But when your dead wife starts talking to you and telling you that, in the middle of your 717 minutes, that everything you believe in, and live by, is all a lie. Well, let the fun and games begin. If Christian Kallias write more of this series, I will definitely be reading the story of how this continues.

THIS REVIEW IS BASED ON THE WHOLE SERIES: FREEDOM'S END, PANDEMONION, NIGHTFALL AND OUT OF TIME AS I GOT THE BOOKS ALL IN ONE SET

Cole Seeker

A time traveller, who can go back in time for only 717 minutes.
The story is fast paced, exciting, likable characters, a worthy Nemesis.
Cole must go back in time to prevent a disaster of cataclysmic proportions in Geneva, time and a Nemesis are against him, accompanied by an AI accessed through augments, Cole must fight terrorism and win the day, but are things all they seem?

Cyberpunk is my top taste when it comes to sci-fi. I'm critical about it and was somewhat worried about Christian engaging in it. He is a space opera writer and I worried he would drag too much of his spaceop style into this. How wrong I was. This is the most refreshing cyberpunk story I've read since snowcrash and I can't wait for the next steps in agent Cole's quest for freedom and awakening!

What an intriguing and incredible book. Christian Kallias does it again with Rewind 717 where he brings characters and machines to life. It’s a little scary to think that some of the things Mr. Kallias writes about in Rewind 717 could actually happen to our lives and our world.

I definitely would recommend putting this futuristic, sci-fi thriller on your reading list.

Holy Moley Smokes! This book, Rewind 717, has been compared to 24 and Blade Runner, and they aren't kidding! The action is non-stop and never lets you down. The characters are tough, vulnerable, funny, and seriously dangerous. I was up all last night reading because I couldn't put it down. There are three consecutive stories: read 'em all. You won't regret the missed sleep.

This is a truly interesting idea, using the theory of time travel to actually change errors made in the past instead of going to great ends to avoid making changes. Our hero thinks he knows what he's doing and why, but as the story grows from one book to the next...does he really understand his purpose?

Out of time is a story that is really out of today's movies and can occur either at the beginning or ending of the Rewind 717 series of books. It is just as full of action and surprises that the series consisted off.
