Melanie Morris has freshly filed for divorce, and she can’t bare the thought of spending Christmas surrounded by her nosey family. It might be the last Christmas she can spend in the holiday home she and her estranged husband own in the Sierra Nevada. Melanie’s one wish is never to feel alone as she had during her marriage. The snow is coming down, and it is Christmas Eve. Electrician Hunter Ripley isn’t in the Christmas spirit and wants to clock out and spend the evening with his feet up, and a beer in his hand, forgetting the memories of his late wife. Hunter’s one wish is to find peace in the past as he works to move on. One last call comes in, and Hunter is up to bat when he's called to an elaborate holiday cabin. With the heat out and the snow coming down, Melanie and Hunter have to make due until the snow clears. Will their wishes come true this Christmas?
Born and raised in the California Bay Area, Janae Keyes is an American mom, wife, and hopeless romantic living in Europe. She loves to explore various cultures coming together through the magic of love. Residing in a suburb of Brussels, Belgium, with her husband and daughter, Janae loves to share her passion for romance with others.
I like a good holiday story with romance but this one was very dull. Both lead characters were one dimensional and spent most of the story discussing or thinking about their former loved ones. There was no chemistry between them and the contrived drama between the lead female character and her ex-husband added nothing to the story.
....and your wish will come true. That is what both Melanie and Hunter found out when their fateful meeting and being stranded during a snow storm so they could get to know each other and fall in love. Each one was suffering from broken hearts. In each other, they found the love they so craved. Hunter found in Melanie the love he thought he would never have again after the death of his wife. She was the healing balm to his soul that made him want to move on. With Melanie, Hunter was the man who showed her genuine love, affection and care she never got from her philandering selfish husband. Neither one of them were willing to give up on each other even though they had only known each other for a few days. They knew in their hearts they were each other's soulmates.
The author wrote a sweet easy read romance story about two people trying to heal the emptiness they felt in their lives from personal loss. They recognise each other as who they were and refused to let go.
I simply love the way that Janae presents her characters as real people. They aren't fake, they make me feel and Mel is no different. I love how I can relate with real life situations. I watched my dad suffer like Hunter for years after my mom died in a car crash. My dad was driving the car that we were in. It tore him up. He found love later in his life and they were together till he died. This book was simply amazing and is going on my suggested reading list for the holidays.
This author always knows how to bring a realness to her characters. I was deeply moved by the struggles of Melanie and Hunter. This is a story about two damaged people finding each other and healing each other with their love. It is a story of hope. I would recommend this to anyone who likes heartfelt stories with real, raw, and emotional characters.
I won this copy in a giveaway. It's the first book from this author that I have read and I really enjoyed it. It was a quick and romantic read. Love at first sight, kind of story, with two broken individuals drawn together by their pain. I love sweet romantic stories with a happily ever after and this delivered.
Two people who are lost and then find each other in a miraculously kismet way. Melanie and Hunter were great together. Raymond was an a**. I'm happy they found each other and helped heal each other. Good read😊
This Christmas story touched my heart. Melanie and Hunter are two people who have loved and lost love. Will they ever find it again? Does fate even exist? Love can come at anytime and it does not have a time frame. Read this book to find out what Christmas brings for Melanie and Hunter.
This was a really sweet short story. I love when people get their HEA. If anyone deserved it, it was these two. After going through a hard year the love the found in each other's arms was just the rainbow needed at the end of a storm.
This short book was such a pleasurable read. I truly recommend it to any and all hopeless romantics or there like myself! Very believable, and we'll written with very loveable & real characters.
