3.5 'Pushing Limits' Stars!
After finishing Prime Minister, I have to say I was pretty curious about Max a.k.a Doctor Bad Boy. Well.. I enjoyed this story, it was extremely hot for sure, but not as much as I enjoyed the first one in the series.
Max is definitely more kinky than Gavin. He is hot, and he is even sweet but.. he likes harder stuff and some of that did not work for me. I mean, I always love a good dirty talker and Max is no exception on that department! But, for instance, I hate man who call their women 'slut' while having sex. I haaaaaaaate it. And, I don't know, I did not connect as much with Max and Violet as I connected with the MCs in Prime Minister.
I want this. And I want it with Max. He’s the only man who’s ever unlocked this submission for me.
She’s the one person on the planet who has the potential to make me lose control, and that both fascinates and terrifies me.
The story as a whole was pretty good, I really enjoyed getting to know more about Max's past, his job and how he finally falls in love. I loved the surprise fact that we got towards the ending, it gave us some pretty adorable moments between Max and Violet! And the ending was beautiful!
"I'm going to show you," he whispers. "I’m going to figure out how to be the guy you need."
I am not sure I will read the next book though. I was pretty excited about Lachlan and Beth, we even got a teaser at the end of the book of what is coming and that precisely is what is going to stop me from reading it. We discover there will be another man in the mix. I know, I know, I am crazy. But I don't like threesome love stories. They are just not made for me. Still, I am sure Full Mountie will be extremely hot so if you are into that, definitely put it on your TBR!

So, coming back to Doctor Bad Boy, I am rating it with 3.5 STARS because I enjoyed the story, the characters and how they fall in love. It's just that there were some aspects in it that are not of my liking and I could not get past them. But if you are into harder kinky stuff, check this one out, it's definitely sexy AF!

Oh my gosh... MAX!! Our kinky doctor became my wet dream since his appearance in Prime Minister as Gavin's best friend. IMO, Max is way better than Gavin because he's quite a sadist and heavy player. But nothing's too hardcore. Still safe, sane and consensual. And finally, Max met his match.
Violet Roberts just need refreshing. After her divorcee, she has a mind blowing sex with a Dominant. But he turns out an asshole and she must forget him. However, fate has another plan. For months, Max Donovan couldn't function properly until he met her again, as his lawyer. Proposing temporary BDSM relationship to someone was never across his mind. Violet is different and Max deserved second chance.
Both Violet and Max are easily likable. They're hard working person but more fun than Gavin and Elle. Violet wants Max so badly but didn't want to mix with their business. Secretive is the only way and Max approved. They're such a great couple. Complementing each other. I liked it.
BDSM already in Max's life since college. It is an escape from his demanding job. Violet isn't a newbie, but Max brings out another level. Their BDSM relationship was quite tame, though. Of course, Max always push Violet into more. Their great scenes ended up with multiple orgasms. My favorite scene is when they're role-playing as teacher-student. Freaking HOT! I would love to have Max as my Dominant. *Teehee*
My only problem, whether the book is taking too long almost bored me in the middle or there isn't enough emotion. Yes, they're in love but how? The story was told from 2 POV's, Violet and Max. I'm swooned with how Max treat Violet like he's afraid to lose her. At the same time, Max couldn't love Violet because his past. He's in denial and it made me frustrated but pity at the same time. Poor Violet is extremely patient with Max because she love him. Finally, Max improve his relationship with Violet and they ended up happily ever after. Overall, it is a solid read for BDSM story. Good mixture of romance and sex with minimal conflict.

There’s something about those Frisky Beavers…
I’m going to put my Sassy – Queen of Generalisations hat on for this review. Starting an erotic read is a little like going into a “scene”, for me. Obviously, this is not experience talking, I've never "scened", this is just my interpretation based on what I’ve read. See, I start off a little nervous. I’m concerned that everyone’s watching. I (try to) hold my head up high. Then, I’m completely distracted by what’s going on in front of me, to me and around me. Visiting the Frisky Beavers guarantees me a level of (reader) sub-space. I’m in the zone, overwhelmed with intense feelings and I’m struggling to be aware of what’s going on around me.
I don’t read a lot of erotica because I find that if done well, it can be a little overwhelming. I struggle with the need to understand why people go looking for pain, humiliation and loss of control. On the flipside, I then struggle knowing there are people who get off administering the pain, humiliation and loss of control. A good erotica will make you believe and understand their need. It’s not always dark and disturbing or makes you feel queasy being the observer. Sometimes, it’s just observing people finding their happy place being trussed up, gagged, wearing a collar or spanked (you get the picture).
Doctor Bad Boy was pretty good. It didn’t answer all my questions, but it did give me a good understanding of why this couple were perfect for each other. It was EXTREMELY HOT!! Both Violet and Max know how to push each other’s buttons to gain mutual satisfaction. While some scenes were a little uncomfortable to me, it was obvious that it was perfect for them. The Frisky Beavers definitely takes me to a level where I’m alert but never pushed to where I think the authorities should be called for (extreme) abuse.
I enjoyed Doctor Bad Boy, and was left completely satisfied. I have to say that I’m gobsmacked where we’re left in regards to Lachlan and Beth…I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING!!!

Doctor Bad Boy does as it says on the tin: contains a doctor, who is indeed a bit of a bad boy, in the dirty sense.
"Arrogant bad boy for the win."
Paediatric doctor Max Donovan gave us a taste of his kinky preferences in Prime Minister; to be honest I expected him to be much dirtier than he actually was and the BDSM is in turn what I'd class as tamer but nevertheless, dirty he is and he does it with a dominant streak.
In Violet, we have a professional women who owns her sexuality, her submissiveness, knows what she wants and is vocal about it. I loved her for this. And when she discovers the dominant man she had a one-night-stand with is her newest client, she takes a firm stance that there's a professional line and it won't be crossed. Something Max isn't exactly on board with.
These two have an off-the-charts chemistry and bring everything from flirty banter to page-burning passion with a good sprinkling of humour and sweetness throughout. And I have to give credit to Booth and Haller for the way they portrayed these characters, particularly Max's considerate nature as a Dom and for the educational aspect, because who knew how versatile ginger is.
"...lovingly peeled and carved this afternoon just for you."
In a nutshell, if you're partial to a doctor with an impeccably filthy bedside manner, but with the right balance of arrogance and sweetheart, and a smart woman who keeps him on his toes, then this is one to grab. Meanwhile I'll just be sat over here, patiently waiting for Lachlan's time to come.

It doesn’t happen as often as you would think, because most of the time it’s the story itself that captures my heart and not the characters.
Violet & Max are #mypeople … I knew it three paragraphs into this book. I also knew that I would fictionally marry Violet one day ;) Now THAT has actually only happened one other time and that was Akira from A Gentleman in the Street by Alisha Rai (if you haven’t experienced that book, you are missing out on some seriously good fictional literature #TRUST). Okay, but I digress … back to Violet.
Violet Roberts owns who she is. She is a powerhouse of a female. Her sexuality is very kink curious … cue or very handsome Doctor Bad Boy himself, Max Donovan. Max is not curious, he IS kinky. He very much enjoys the power exchange aspect of BDSM, among other aspects. And he is more than willing to satisfy Violet’s curiosity :)
Max and Violet met by chance. One fated, moment in time, that would change their lives forever. A one-night stand that was common practice for Max but not so much for Violet. Max and Violet both are very sexual people. They express themselves to each other via sex. They use role playing and kink as a medium but woven into all that kinky madness, there was love and romance … every single time. Their relationship grew via sex. It’s what they did. It’s who they were. So you will read a lot of kinky sexy hotness. And you will see their love blossom and their friendship bond tighten throughout all of their scenes.
I read this story first in beta form and then as an ARC and I could read it over and over again. Their journey gave me a place of happiness to go to in my mind and put a smile on my face. I’m not always so wordy with my reviews, even when the story has a lot of feels , but #mypeople deserve the best words possible. For future readers I say this, this is more than just a kinky sexual story. This is a story of growth and friendship and trust and love. It’s about two people destined to walk into the light together to a HEA :)

Just letting you know that I'm moving to Canada, no big deal.
Max is *sigh* perfect.
- total asshole (honestly, why is this catnip to me?) but in a sexy way 😂
- filthy talker
- slight sadist, more on the rough side
- bossy in all things, he's a dominant through and through
- hockey player
I pull her hair a little harder. "I promise my brand of romance is mostly ironic. Seventy-thirty split between torture and sweet nothings."
This book if it was possible was even 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 than the last one and that is saying something.
I love this series so far. It's minimal angst but loads of spicy tension so if you're in the mood to have your Kindle melt then this series will do that and then some.
I also love that the h's while submissive have backbones and kick ass jobs that you get details about and not some "generic office job" type deal that is often thrown in.
Can't wait to read the rest of the books and get glimpses of previous couples.

Life will never be the same after reading Max, Violet and the ottoman's story.
This book is edgy, kink, sexy but also so sweet. Max and Violet were meant to each other in so many levels and their story is so personal in a kinky kind of way.
He is demanding, bossy and she is his ultimate match.
This series is taking things to other level of romance novels and so far it is keeping a lovely pace, because this is a great and sweet love story (kinky and all!).
Make sure you read the special epilogue, which make me laugh and cry at the same time.
Looking forward to Lachlan's book!

I legit just love this series. It's fun, sexy and yes over the top, but I don't care, even a little. It's so easy to fall into each story and just get sucked in.
Doctor Bad Boy is about Gavin's best friend Max. He is a former childstar and now is a a doctor into the kink scene. He meets Violet one night at a hotel and assumes she is an escort. Violet, not being an escort is immediately offended when she realizes his mistake. Violet is actually becomes his attorney three months later, when assigned to his case. The story takes off from there weaving a tale of forbidden love, sexy encounters and an addictive love story.
I definitely recommend the Frisky Beavers series, so much freaking fun!!

I LOVED this read. Loved it! Fun, flirty, and feisty is how I describe these two. Meeting and spending the night together has become a life changing event for both Max and Violet. You MUST (not really, but really) read book one in the Frisky Beaver series to truly get the full impact of Max and his Violet obsession.
Honestly, I’m having a hard time even writing this review. I don’t want to inadvertently give anything away. I highlighted throughout this book, but find myself not wanting to spoil the funny little quips and adorable moments that are peppered throughout it. With the abundance of bed play and scenes that take place, the moments of levity really are spot on, making this one of my favorite reads in this genre for the year.
So, do yourself a favor. Grab book one, if you haven’t already. Enjoy the story of Gavin and Ellie while also getting to know the good doctor known as Max Donovan. Then have a defibrillator on standby when you begin Doctor Bad Boy. BDSM PERFECTION!

I highlighted throughout this book, but find myself not wanting to spoil the funny little quips and adorable moments that are peppered throughout it. With the abundance of bed play and scenes that take place, the moments of levity really are spot on, making this one of my favorite reads in this genre for the year.
So, do yourself a favor. Grab book one, if you haven’t already. Enjoy the story of Gavin and Ellie while also getting to know the good doctor known as Max Donovan. Then have a defibrillator on standby when you begin Doctor Bad Boy. BDSM PERFECTION!

Obliterated--in the best of ways! That was how this book left me once I finished reading it. I just sat there with a goofy grin on my face. Damn, Max Donovan! You, sexy beast, you!
I can't remember reading a BDSM book that was actually more about romance than this book. I almost couldn't handle the feels the chemistry between Max and Violet made me feel. They are just so silly good together. I can now say that the Booth-Haller collab works are officially wrecking havoc on my senses. These two is a force--I must get their other books, stat.
See? Max was an effingly sweet alpha. I wanted to climb him. Hahaha. Ohmygod, I'm a mess! I can't, I can't, I can't. Nom nom nom!
Okay, back to the book. Because I already loved Max in the first book of the series, it wasn't hard for me to fall in love with this book. But it only became better because I got to meet more interesting secondary characters and the possibility of more books for this series is humping, I mean, hopping in my head like little bunnies.

I adored Prime Minister but this had too much bdsm for me. I get bored when the smut goes on for page after page while each body part is tied to some complicated bit of apparatus and fiddled with. Shame as the vanilla scenes were hotter to me as this writer can write excellent smut. Ah well.

To begin, I just want to say that this book started off with a huge bang. The first scenes where Violet and Max meet were - WOW - so well-done. They were completely believable, hot and dirty, and cleverly written; it doesn't get much better than this, folks.
Like its predecessor, Prime Minister, this one had a very positive feel to it. Not only was the writing pro-female, but it was also pro-male, pro-kink, pro-consenting adults, and pro-figuring-your-shit-out. It made no apologies for what was between its pages, and I really liked that. What I wasn't a big fan of was the way that Max used his and Violet's kink (S&M) to avoid having actual conversations with each other. You might be thinking Ooooh, spankings instead of talk? I'm in. But unfortunately, I felt the authors missed the mark (pun intended) a few times, and scenes were left flat without the words, or even the thoughts, that should have come up to give them more texture and life.
Having said that, this book is head and shoulders above the average romance novel. Don't let my flinching away from Max's palm deter you from reading it! Definitely a solid 4-star read.

Doctor Bad Boy is the second story in the Frisky Beavers series, a hot and steamy tale that features Max, a dedicated pediatrician, former child star, and friend of the current Canadian Prime Minister Gavin. He appears as a secondary character in the first story in the series (Prime Minister) and is in the process of relocating to Ottawa from Vancouver, taking up a position at a local hospital. He's got a dominant personality, and likes his sex kinky and with willing submissives but because of his career (and his famous friend) he has a standing contract with a discreet agency. No sex clubs, no public scandals. When he meets Violet in the hotel bar of the Chateau Laurier, he thinks she's one of the agency's girls. In fact, she's a high powered lawyer who is celebrating her final divorce decree, hoping to shed some of her inhibitions and let loose for one night. She found the right person in Max alright, ending a dry spell and having some of the hottest sex in her life! But when she realizes Max has mistaken her for a call girl, she is quick to exit the scene. He makes Violet feel safe to express her desires, and it's no wonder that after their first time together, neither can get the other out of their heads. When they meet again in a lawyer, client capacity, Violet worries about the ethics of being involved with him while working together (though there are no strict rules prohibiting such at her company) and Max must win her over to considering a sexual relationship outside of work hours.
I really liked Violet's character too. She's had a bad go of it in the past year, and now that her divorce is final she can concentrate on work again, and her career aspirations. She's definitely not been thinking of getting into another relationship, but Max is pretty persuasive, especially since they seem to be on the same page of not getting emotionally involved (though that doesn't last long). It's a bit intimidating to meet Max's friends – the PM and his circles, but she fits in nicely with them, and makes some new girlfriends too.
The sex scenes are whew, super hot, as expected. There is a lot of hanky spanky (the authors' turn of phrase, not mine) and impact play is a key part of Max and Violet's relationship – caning, flogging etc. Max is a bit of a sadist, and Violet quite likes it that way. Though it's not always to my personal tastes, the fact that they set clear limits at the outset means everything is done with consent, and Max takes special care with Violet after every scene. There are some nice kinky role play scenes too, which were really fun to read. When they start to realize that they have real feelings for each other things get a little dicey but Max shows himself to be all in, and worthy of Violet's affections. It's a delightfully sexy and entertaining story and I eagerly await the next in the series!

DBB starts out with some kinky sex. It's hella hot and completely captured my attention.
And then.
The characters became more than just sexy, kinky people. Max is so complex, his past, his job, his feelings for Violet. And Violet, she is so strong.
What starts as a one night stand turns into a sex only relationship. She is his lawyer, he is her client. The whole thing is a conflict of interest. But neither one can forget the night they shared before there was a conflict of interest.
Sex only - HAH! You know what happens next.
I loved watching these characters find their HEA.

Ummm, hello Max! Where have you been all my life? And I want Violet and Ellie as BFFs. I devoured this book and savored every word of every character. I took my time and absorbed all of this book's amazing badness. So bad! :)
Everything about this couple was risky. Their first night together, their chance second meeting, their ongoing D/s relationship. The ending. Gah!

Max has some sweet moments but there was way too much story line on his obsession with kink. I wanted more story outside of the ottoman. They are interesting characters with lots of chemistry, but this one lost me on too much BDSM and less on the plot.

I was hesitant to read this book because of the first frisky Beaver, while it was sexy it also didn't keep my attention.
This one was much better.
Max is a kinky doctor. He has a one-night stand, and he can't get her off his mind.
Violet is dedicated to her job, and she also remembers her explosive night with Max.
3 months later their paths cross again, but Max is forbidden.
Thankfully Max is persistent, which makes for some good back and forth. Max is a sadist Dom, and I love a sadist.
Well, I love reading about them, because Lord knows, I can't even take a paper cut.
I will say this book is a little cheesy, but it was so damn sexy.
So if you're looking for a light sexy read, with some kink, this is the book for you

Oh, Max, you didn't disappoint. Meeting Violet in the hotel should have been like any other night for Max, but for them both it was just the beginning. I loved getting to see them together, but would have loved to,see more of there happy ever after. And Lachlan, oh man, I can't wait to see how that plays out. I didn't see that coming.

I enjoyed this much more than the previous story, partly because I knew what to expect going in and partly because I connected to these characters a lot more. I could totally believe in their story. Despite their connection, the sex was too much. I honestly skipped over 90+% of it - at least, but more like all of it - because again, BDSM - hitting a person, in any fucking way is not okay with me. If they're enjoying it, good for them, but I can't be an audience to it.

Max and Violet’s chemistry is off the charts. I think this book dips further into kink than any other I have read. I don’t understand and see the appeal of it but the authors of this story make sure you fully understand the characters enjoyment of their scenes. For a while I thought the contact (cause there’s always a contract) between M and V were going to fall into the wrong hands and they would be exposed and have to overcome. I’m so glad I was wrong. Like really wrong. I’ll let you find out for yourself the direction of the story but I will say I’m really happy with the outcome.

I am more excited than words can say for book 3. That last chapter! Should I go buy it now?

One night three months ago Max and Violet have an explosive night and a huge misunderstanding. For three months neither of these two have forgotten the sparks that flew but what are the chances that they’ll ever see each other again? I mean they live in different cities after all… or do they?
Violet is career driven. Getting mixed up with her newest client is not something she is willing to risk, even if he was the hottest sexual experience she’s ever had. But exploring the submissive side of her is something that she’s been dying to do. Can she keep her kinky life separate from her professional life, even when things get complicated?

Phew! That's the first thing that comes to mind after reading Frisky Beavers 2. Max and Violet are one of the hottest, sweetest stories I've read in a while. The first chapter already has the heat rising and it only continues on through the book...HOT...HOT...HOT.
Max is a child star turned pediatrician (yeah, le sigh already!) and Violet is an attorney who is looking to get kinkeeeyyyy. After they meet up one night and never expect to see each other again, the sparks fly. Like super hot and super high. Flashforward to three months from that night and who should walk into Violet's law firm but, yup, good old Dr.Bad Boy! LOL. What a scene that was!
Needless to say they go through some, ahem, trials and tribulations but are happy in the end. I was so flipping happy with how their story ended I read the last few chapters twice! AND...let me not start on the Epilogue. Total swoonage!
Awesome book by awesome authors and all I can say is BRING ON LACHLAN!!!

I cant even express how addicted to this series I am becoming. First with Gavin and Ellie and now.. OMG.. Max and Violet. Max is a pediatric doctor. A doctor to kids, yall, how sweet is that - with his Kermit the Frog stethoscope? But ohhh.. hes got a kinky side. So very kinky. And Violet, shes an attorney. She was a super strong female character, of which I am not usually that fond - but I legitimately LOVED her. Booth and Haller once again wrote two characters that were just perfect for each other.
Doctor Bad Boy was funny, smart, sexy and off the charts HOT! It can be read as a stand alone but I would not advise it. First, because you will enjoy Prime Minister so much you wont want to miss out on Gavin and Ellie. Second, Max's story actually starts in PM and you will learn a lot more about him and love him that much more. :)

OMG!!! Max is a VERY BAD BOY!!! Violet is just what the doctor ordered. Max and Violet meet have an incredibly HOT night then due to a wrong assumption on Max's part Violet leaves and he has no way to get in touch with her again. Fast forward a few months when Violet gets handed a new client to review at the last minute at her law firm and guess who's coming to the conference table? You HAVE to read this book to see how Max and Violet deal with their conflicting feelings. Can Dr. Bad Boy actually settle down? Does Violet want to be tied down? We still get to see all the GREAT characters we met in Prime Minister and we learn what made Max the dirty bad boy he is. I am looking forward to Lachlan's story next as I know it's going to sizzle as much if not more than Prime Minister and Doctor Bad Boy. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
