He must kill her. She knows too much...
Grace Caldwell has had an unimaginably tragic life. Molested by her stepfather, shunned by her family, trying to make peace with her drug-addicted brother, Grace still strives for a better life. But the worst is yet to come, as Grace ends up kidnapped and held as a sex slave of the sleazy mobster Piero Ferraro.
New mob boss Gianni Azzara is Piero's mortal enemy and the deliverer of his fate. Piero killed Gianni's father, so Gianni killed Piero.
Grace knows the truth...
When Gianni goes to Piero's house to clean up the botched crime scene, he finds Grace near death.
He's her savior....
Gianni realizes that Grace has valuable information about Piero. This makes her valuable. Grace knows that Gianni was trying to kill Piero. This makes her dangerous.
He's her captor....
Gianni knows what he needs to do. Yet Grace's vulnerability and quiet beauty call to him as nothing ever has before.
Grace is his captive. He cannot set her free. Ever. She must remain his prisoner indefinitely, or die.
Which will be the greatest tragedy of his life.

Interesting

Interesting take on the mafia. Lots of triggers in this book. I liked the story but some of the parts just seemed so out there.

Grace had so much happen to her, but seemed to put all that aside in like five days and fall madly in love with Gianni and have drag out dirty sex with him. Gianni's I don't know what to do dilemma was like really, we all know what you could do, but he never thinks of it. Gianni's mysterious family was a plot twist from no where too.

I liked how Grace over came and put her life back together, but Gianni was with her every step of the way, even though he let her go. Anyway....

Good read if you can live with all the "really" moments.

Edge of your seat book by Kiara Woodson! I was
Given an ARC for an honest review! I was not disappointed! Don't miss the Mafia story of The Boss Gianni who is trying to find out who killed his father. Gianni Goes to Piero's house to knock him off and sees a women who is barely alive and is chained to a bed in the
Basement. He takes her home to help nurse her back to health... Grace awakens and can't figure out where she is. Soon meets Gianni, who gives her a false name, so he can get information from her on Piero and who his associates are... they have a very strong connection! But how can she be attracted to her captor? Gianni is trying to figure out what she knows. Grace finally figures out who Gianni really is and is scared...he assures her he will not hurt her. He starts falling for her but knows he is going to have to take care of her as she knows too much. Follow this story full of twists and turns to find out if anyone can find happiness! You will not be able to put it down!

Don't waste your time

Unless your looking for a middle school read. This book was so pathetic with the plot I got mad and continued reading to leave this review. Who are these mobsters REALLY they played out like high school kids. This was the dumbest organization ever. Your a sex slave for a year raped multiple times, yet you give it up freely! The plot was weak the characters were weak. I hope the next book is better I however will not be reading it. I'm glad this was free for me or I would have wanted a REFUND!!!! Sorry

Not the mafia story that I expected

When I think of the mafia I think of hardcore men. The main character, Gianni, wasn't presented this way. The story started off really well but didn't end strong. There were some grammatical errors that made it difficult to keep track of who was talking or whose thoughts were being expressed. This really bugged me! One more point on this subject...this author would give a tidbit of information, like the masquerade ball, but then changed the information. The discrepancies in this story almost caused me to put the story aside and move on to another book. It's sad really, because this story had such great potential.
HAPPY READING EVERYONE!!

This is book 1 of the Azzarra crime family and I have to say it is really good. I was a bit hesitant at first with where the story was going but I have to admit that it kept me wanting more and more. The storyline is one of heartache, disappointment, betrayal, family, respect and best of all true love. There are a few grammar errors but that honestly doesn't take anything away from the story whatsoever. This book will keep you wanting to read and not put it down and then you still want more. It truly is a good book and worth reading.

I gave this book 3 stars because I liked most of the tale. There are many errors in the telling though. For example; " When the door was shut; the basement was apparently sound proof. Even though I heard the men and women above". etc. etc. It needs some experienced editing then it would be a much better product. The meat and potatoes of the tale is there and I liked the key characters. Such a shame......

Loved Gianni and Grace. I love mob, mafia romance.
He didn't think he would love or could love anyone.
Grace went through hell and back.
She fell in love with Gianni, but should she?
See what he has to do.
I loved the characters. This story has violence, rape, strong women, Alpha men, romance, and love.

This is my first book by Ms Woodson and it is noticeable of her talent. Gianni Azzarra was surveying the damage after he ordered a hit on Piero Ferraro, the man behind his father death. During Gianni surveying to be sure there wasn't any residues, he stumbled across Grace Caldwell in Piero's basement chain to a post in deplorable condition. Gianni rescues her because he knew she had too much vital information about his mafia family. That being said, the storyline and characters was well developed but the author became confused as to which character was speaking with wrong name in wrong area. We got unimportant details such as art, decor, apartment appearance and square footage but she eliminated the main plot point. Grace was a sex slave, rescued by Gianna but was ogling him the first time meeting, such as: "He's your captor, you can't be attracted to him. Seriously? The dialogue became repetitive for addition wording to prolong the chapters that it appeared this author was unsure of her next avenue. The storyline was well orchestrated with many exciting moments and secrecy but fell short.

Have seen books with lots of errors but never one with as many as this one.

Gianni: Azzarra Crime Family Book One has a pretty decent story line. Not necessarily a realistic one but still interesting. But it was a sad day when spell check replaced proof reading. The book is almost a comedy because of the crazy mistakes. Over and over such things as " I took my hand and held it tightly". Constantly using my in place of her etc. I could mention more that were really funny but a minor might read this review. Please Liars Woods on, read this book a d highlight the ridiculous errors.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Oh wow, what a story. A very involved, emotional , heartwrenching story of two people drawn into the world of the Azzarros and the Mafia. Gianni and Grace meet under traumatic circumstances . After checking on a "Hit" he finds Grace tied to a bedpost near death. A story of secrets, lies, rape, murder, abductions and so much more. Life changing decisions for both Gianni and Grace, a very moving story that although quite long, well worth the read.

What an interesting twist on the mafia BB genre! Gianni and Grace's story could not have started out in a worse possible way, but they struggled through. The book moved quickly, was well developed, and compelling. The characters were well written, interesting, and powerfully written. The book grabs you from start to finish. Well done Kiara, looking forward to more in the series..... Is Lucca's story next????

I loved this book

A love story both complex and also simple. I loved both Gianni and Grace characters.
Gianni could be ruthless and kind. Grace remained pure in soul and spirit despite the horrors she faced.
I hope Kiara Woodson is able to produce other book of a similar standard.

Where is the Proofreading/ Editor?

While the storyline and characters are somewhat satisfactory portrayed, the fact remains the author was constantly confused as to which characters she was writing about. Made me laugh, especially the sex scenes. I'm skipping any other books in this series.

Loved this book. Grace has to learn to trust Gianni , but Gianni needs Grace to give him information and then he must kill her. Does Gianni have it in him to let Grace live because he is in love or must he do what he needs to do to save his family? Gianni is torn and has to make some serious decisions.

Interesting story, great plot. BUT there needs some more editing. It was simple things like my in stead of me. Her dress for the masquerade ball was gold in the beginning then all of a sudden it t
is black? Will re-read to quote exact errors.

Writing exercize?

This whole story was not only very predictable but somewhat mechanical or maybe juvenile. Just...no! It almost seemed as if it was as an exercise for a writing class, and a not very successful exercise at that.

It's a hit

Grabs you from the beginning. Loads of ins and outs, a smart crime boss with a struggling conscience and a heart full of love for the woman he never believed he would find or could have.

Wow

What an interesting story. I love mafia romance and this one carried everyone of my emotions in a different direction. There are a few grammatical errors but they do not take away from the story in the least.

Very bare bones

Probably would have benefited with some serious editing. The story like the language is very plain and nondescript. Characters are pure stereotypes and unflattering.
