This is Robert F. Spencer's famous monograph on the north Alaskan Eskimos. This was actually published, at least my copy, in 1959.
I had previously linked to a review of this book, but it's been brought to my attention that it is located behind a paywall and accessible only to academic institutions that have a subscription. If you email me, I will send you a PDf of said review.
Review: by John J. Honigmann American Anthropologist, New Series, Vol. 62, No. 2 (Apr., 1960), pp. 340-341 Published by: Blackwell Publishing on behalf of the American Anthropological Association
The book contains figures, maps, and plates. It's a very nice addition to any collection of Alaskan ethnologic literature. I can hardly argue with the reviewer of the above cited when he states "It may be the best Eskimo ethnography ever published." Though there are several since that certainly rival its impact on the field.
