Bestselling author Lea Hart writes sexy, feel-good romances. She loves a sharp quip, an icy gin and tonic, and a long walk when the muse disappears. When she’s not writing, she spends time with her family and friends and attempts to stay on top of her TBR pile.
When Ivy Bellows meets Ryan Cordell in a fancy hotel they both had opinions that was wrong about each other, so walking way is the best thing so when Ryan turns up at SAI to meet his old team member for a job interview he never thought it would be the place he would see Ivy. Trying to convince her to go on a date with him is hard but when she agrees it´s cut short when Ivy gets bad news and has to fly home.
Ivy was enjoying her date with Ryan after she agreed to go out with him it´s cut short when her mum phones with bad news flying home to sort out family affairs until someone shoots at her then while recovering in her room Ryan turns up. Will these two let there true feelings out cause Ryan is an alpha male who takes charge and Ivy doesn´t like to give up control so Ryan is in for a rough time getting Ivy to reveal how she feels but until the danger that she faces is taking care of Ryan isn´t leaving her side and hopes to never be a part after it´s sorted. Can Ivy let go of her control to give Ryan the chance he needs to get Ivy to fall in love with him. With her family of strong women and her work place full of alpha men there is many intresting times ahead. This is the third book in SAI series and written brilliantly loved this story so much would recommend this book to everyone.
I love the characters from this world. This author does such a great job and weaving in characters we've met before and loved and introducing us to the next couple to fall in love. This time Ryan and Ivy take the plunge. Ryan and Ivy have a brief meeting at a bar where she decides he is a jerk and he decides she is too much effort. When they meet again at the office, Ryan knows that Ivy is it for him. When Ivy's dad dies and she goes back home to trouble, Ryan will stop at nothing to protect her.
This is another story of our alpha man getting his girl. Ryan isn't quite as over the top as some of our heroes have been, but he still will stop at nothing to keep Ivy safe and make her his. Ivy is a fun whirlwind of excitement. She is a strong personality and will need a strong man to compliment her. These two make a great team. I loved seeing some of the other characters again and seeing where they are in their lives. The only thing that I would say as a negative, would be that I didn't feel much of a climax to this story. I loved Ryan and Ivy though and I look forward to seeing them again.
I enjoyed reading this book, it has likeable characters, a strong hero who pursues the heroine full on, and a strong, sassy heroine. I do have a couple of issues with the story, though. The situation with t h the Reardons is left unresolved, as is the mystery of the sabotage of the oil wells. The implication is that the Reardons are responsible, but the details are never resolved. Beyond those specific issues, I'm starting to tire of the way that all of the books by this author feel like the same book. Different names and settings, but the hero is a big strong handsome guy who relentlessly pursues the heroine, and decides that the best way to tie her to himself for life is to "put a baby in there". The heroine is ostensibly a strong, independent career woman who is talkative and sassy, but many of the women tend to be eccentric almost to the place of silliness at times, and always seem to resist the hero on one level while completely surrendering on another. The books aren't bad, just repetitive. Like having a wardrobe of the same dress every day, just in different fabrics.
Very good story of the newest SAI recruit, retired SEAL Ryan Cordell. He meets a besutiful, challenging woman in a bar. Of course, next thing he knows, she walks into SAI Miami while Ryan is there for an interview. As it happens, Ivy is the new COO while Rory is preparing to go on maternity leave. They begin a dance of friendship and love, though they would both deny it.
Ivy receives sad news, and leaves for Texas and her small home town. Unfortunately, bad things begin to happen as a result of this news. Ivy is in danger and Ryan will be the one to help her. As it turns out, Ivy's family is as funny as, if not funnier than, the DuMonds.
Small quibble: it seemed that there were a few loose ends that left some unanswered questions. Is there more to come (she says hopefully)? Good one, though.
Such a fun read! Ivy is sassy, smart and takes no guff and Ryan is the Lea Hart alpha male we have come to love and expect. Tough, uncompromising and who would do anything for his girl!also, I Love all of Lea Hart's books but especially the spinoffs when you get to meet again couples from other books!
I loved this book. I loved the alpha male and the sassy female. I loved this part when he thought:
Drop the mic. The show was over and Ivy Bellows officially owned his fucking heart. The grin that was plastered across his face was probably permanent.
She's a brainy Texas beauty and he's a newly retired Seal but they have meet there match. Another fun and hot book from this author full of strong women and alpha men in love.
Lea Hart does an awesome job tying other characters from series. Thank you for giving us Ryan's full background story. I love how these men protect and serve! Each book gets better and better!
I really liked this one. I loved Ivy and her relationship with her Mom, Grandma and especially her brother! I loved their southern crazy! They could give the DuMond clan a run for their money. Ryan was a great hero who grew throughout the book. Here's hoping for an SAI Texas!
I love the way the characters fall for each other totally and completely once they realize this is the one. There is none of the falling out over some misunderstanding or other nonsense. It is for keeps. Very refreshing.
I absolutely loved this book. The characters are great. The women characters are strong and loyal and smart, as are the men. The alpha men are delicious. The quirky characters are fun. The story flows so nicely. Total enjoyment.
3.5 stars Their initial meeting was interesting. I was so happy she did not stick around. A few slow spots. I ended up liking the H and that he did what he could for the h.
Good author, slow moving book. Enjoyed sections but overall, the book was a disappointment. Plot was intriguing but did not hold up. Quit at about 60 percent.
