Emily, an award-winning wildlife photographer, is recruited by her cousin to help introduce the battle born to the people of Earth. Emily is awed by all the alien technology and intrigued by the gorgeous warriors who operate Lunar Nine. But one man stands out, more mysterious and attractive than all the others, a Bilarrian Mage named Vox. From the moment Vox meets Emily, he burns to claim her as his mate. He is running from obligations back home, and choosing a human mate will greatly complicate the situation. But Vox doesn’t care. He’s found the one woman who can complete him, and he’s just as determined to win her devotion. All that stands in his way is Emily’s absolute insistence that she has no interest in romance of any kind. Vox welcomes the challenge and uses every sensual technique he knows to wear down Emily’s defenses. Their future will be long and happy, if she can just learn to trust him. Note to This book contains detailed descriptions of sizzling passion only suitable for mature readers. From Battle Born is a fully integrated sci-fi series. Each romance is resolved within the given book, but many plot elements continue on from story to story. For this reason, it’s best to read the books in order. Enjoy!
Passionate Sci-Fi with a touch of danger and a whole lot of sass.
Cyndi has written about rock stars, vampires, and cat shifters, but she's currently focused on outer space. Her stories are fun, fast-paced, and seriously hot. She has made the USA Today Top 100, and every book in the Outcasts series landed on Amazon's Top 100. She is currently working on Shadowborn Rebellion, a spin-off series set in the Outcasts universe.
Enjoyed this book because he heroine did not resist for the entire book. Hard to continue to vary the story when the premise remains the same. Would be interesting to read a story about a human male and a non-human female for variety. Editing improved but still some errors. Appreciate the overlying story arc that continues throughout all the books.
Seriously I love it. Vox is Bilarrian. He is a friend of the Battle one and a king on Bilarri. Emily is a wildlife photographer. Lexi's cousin as well. She has suffered tragedy but Vox helps. Their journey is sweet. I loved this book. Sedrik needs a mate
Love all the battle born books I thought enjoy the knitting of earth and outer space into the books the personalities are well rounded every one is not always happy, sad or evil! Please continue the series as long as possible Thank you Barbara
Good Series. Has a futuristic/interplanetary feel for science fiction. Good plot with likeable/relatable protagonist and antagonist. Always enjoy some action with my happily ever after.
Vox’s story was a much gentler story, his passion and the pull were as strong as the Battle Born, but his reaction to it was a lot more patient. And thank goodness for that because as damaged as Emily is, she needed his gentle courting.
This series has enthralled me from the very beginning. I wait impatiently for each new instalment, so I can feed my addiction. Vox's story held my heart from the very start, there was heartbreak, heartache, sorrow and pain but each was perfectly counter balanced with passion, heart, strength and love. Emily is his mate in every way, but it was Vox's determination and strength that grabbed my attention as he fought to break down the walls that were built, like a fortress, around her heart. You have a way with words Cyndi that draws the reader in, I for one hate it when I reach the end because I'm never ready to let go. I can't wait for the next in the series.
I have always enjoyed this series from the very first book, but this one seemed extra special to me. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because I didn't think Vox's illness was explained well enough. Great series and I highly recommend the series and this book.
I debated 4 stars or 5 stars. 5 stars would mean the story is concluded and all the story lines are wrapped up. I've read all 10 books in order this past week. I've enjoyed all of them; however, new story lines possibilities been hinted at! So only 4 stars because I have to WAIT for the next book.
The series is shaping up nicely and book ten adds a nice twist to the mix. Vox and Emily make a nice pair, and their meeting and get together the backdrop to the developing battle born story. Can't wait to see where this is going.
I am so into this series and can't wait for the next one. I almost though it would be Dakar and Alanza, war or not? But maybe it'll be Alanza and Marsden? Wouldn't that be a kick. OMG ! Hurry up September. Cyndi you are truly gifted, thanks for sharing.
Wonderful story. I really enjoyed reading this one and I can't wait to read the next one in this series. If you enjoy reading sci-fi romantic fiction then you will love this one.
This particular book for the Battle Born series is absolutely phenomenal!!!
