For fans of ME ME ME, this is the next chapter in Charlotte Crosby'slife - Celebrity Big Brother winner, MTV presenter, fitness DVD and bookbestseller and one of the UK's best loved and funniest reality stars.
In the two years since ME ME ME, national sweetheart Charlotte Crosby could not have been busier. Her jam-packed TV schedule has included appearances on some of the nation's favourite shows such as Celebrity Juice and This Morning, she is the presenter of MTV's new hit show Just Tattoo of Us and is now the face of her very own make-up range, Flique.
Here in BRAND NEW ME Charlotte talks us through an incredibly busy year, making us laugh as ever with her funny moments (like when her mum woke up on Christmas morning to find her passed out naked by her new swimming pool) but also opening up about the difficult months surrounding her shock departure from Geordie Shore, betrayal and her heartbreaking ectopic pregnancy. After working through her loss by bravely speaking out, she is now an ambassador of the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust, helping raise awareness of the symptoms so other women can get early treatment and help if they find themselves going through a similar experience.
So welcome to BRAND NEW ME, the next chapter in Charlotte's life: businesswoman, TV presenter, charity spokesperson, stronger than ever, inspiring us with her work ethic, smashing it with her style and still making us wet our pants laughing.
I really enjoyed this book! It's different to her first book and I love how we see a new (the word is even in the title) and mature Charlotte! I love seeing how she used her traumatic experience with her ectopic pregnancy and turned it into something positive by spreading awareness and being a voice for the charity! Overall this book just made me respect and lover Charlotte more!
Living in Belgium, I know Charlotte from the MTV show Just Tattoo of Us. I think she's a quirky gall. Reading Charlotte's book has helped me cope with my own problems. It is so relatable. And as a woman, I feel sorry for her. For the fact that she has been played with so many times. All the heartache over one guy who just follows his penis around. I can see common themes in her diary entries. My own diary entries were also filled with drama, going from one guy to the next. Hoping that the next guy would be "the one".
Guys can be pretty shitty with girls. Girls can also be pretty shitty with guys. And in the end we can only control our own behaviour, our own character and the way we respond. We need that self-love and self-respect, to say 'hey, this is not okay. And you hurt me'. But that isn't easy. I think we all have had those feedback loops that make it easy to spiral down into insanity. Where you don't see reason.
Look, it isn't because you love somebody, that they are necessarily good for you. We all have to learn that lesson. Charlotte does it with wit and sass. But she should dial back on the drama. Heaven knows I have had my fair share of drama. But I could never speak to my mom like that.
I really loved her dedication 'for drying a thousand tears' . We are all so grateful for those girlfriends who listen to our drama about shitty men and boyfriends. Love you girls.
And kuddos for coming out with the story of her ectopic pregnancy. Wow, that seems like such a difficult ordeal, and to not being able to share it with the person you want to talk to. :(
"I woke up really panicking that these last two weeks have been a joke on his behalf."
"But I am so, so scared of being hurt. I always have that nagging feeling in the back of my head"
"Out of all the bad that's happened, we can still find the fun."
"Is there ever going to be a text?" => too relatable. We keep staring at our phones, hoping for a message. We sure can drive ourselves crazy
"I had really needed him and he hadn't been there for me" :(
PS: didn't know some people wee so much in bed - that's probably the weirdest thing for me in the whole book
I have a real soft spot for Charlotte Crosby, being that Geordie Shore is my guilty pleasure! Charlotte has done so well for herself, and having read and enjoyed her first book, I was keen to read this one. It is written in exactly the way you can imagine Charlotte conversing with you, which is quite endearing, but at times the simple language and friendly dialogue is quite jarring. I've given four stars simply because I have such a soft spot for Charlotte and really enjoyed reading about what she's been up to since her Geordie Shore days, and she really has done well! Don't read this expecting a literary masterpiece, but if you can get over the technical side of the writing, you'll love this.
Charlotte never fails to make you laugh. There were ups and there were some really really tough downs but she came through on the other side better for it and I'm so proud of her for being an ambassador and bringing awareness to ectopic pregnancies (saving loads of lives in the process) and EVERYTHING that she's accomplished!
At first I didn't enjoy the book, because I thought it were only Twitter message like texts combined inti a book. Random, crazy thoughts stringed together.
However with every page the reader gets to know more about Charlotte and what's really going on in her life. Reading about her ectopic pregnancy and how she is now trying to bring awareness to this topic was quite emotional.
I also enjoyed the stories about her family and it does remind me so much of my own family. Except that no one in my family pees their pants 😂.
The books is quite a fun and interesting ride and perfect as a little pick me up during hard times or a reading slump. Also if you enjoy gossip and having crazy, funny personal talks with your girls, you should definitely check it out. Should you have a problem with gross things better prepare yourself. Other than that: go and get the book.!
Really enjoyed this book, but I think I preferred Charlotte's first autobiography Me Me Me much more.
This one goes into detail about her heartbreaking ectopic pregnancy and the fact she was dealing with that alone whilst her baby-daddy was sleeping with random girls on a national TV show, Charlotte also speaks about her time on Celebs Go Dating, and about her relationships with Ash Harrison & Stephen Bear.
I did really enjoy this book like I said, but it took me so long to read it in comparison to the day it took me to read Me Me Me. I found this one quite hard to pick up at times, but it's very much authentically Charlotte and love her or hate her, you can't deny she's lived a life worth reading about!
Thus book is a good read. The book is a series of Charlottes diary entries and therefore can sometimes drag on for me. We all wanted the juicy details about "he who shall not be names" and how the Char and Bear saga began, if she has the remedy for Bears weird erratic behaviour. Can she tame this cheating boy after not being able to with Gary? You do get some answers, mostly in the Gary department. Char is very honest about her pregnancy and all the details including health results are revealed. As for Bear, none of us were convinced, and i get the sense Char was trying to convince herself throughout her entries.
this is seriously like reading charlottes diary. it's hard to read as someone who shipped the char & gaz on the show, but this is rly making me confront how that's only a story the producers do, and obviously the chaotic rollercoaster of the show is incredibly shit in real life. idk defo felt like a wake up call for someone like me who watches a lot of reality tv to take a step back sometimes it get a bit long in the 2nd half when she's gushing about ash & bear, when i know from the future they're both going to shit anyway
I love Charlotte Crosby, I said this when reviewing her first book and I am saying it again now.
The first book of Charlottes was more upbeat and happy, hilariously funny and joyful to read, however this second book touches on the more serious issues that Charlotte has had to go through, such as her Ectopic pregnancy and other serious matters, there is a little more heart in this book than there was in the first. I appreciate Charlotte for writing this, it’s a true insight of how she feels and what she’s been through.
It had me giggling and crying, I felt all the emotions! 5/5 stars!
I have a soft spot for charlotte and I don't know why! She is such a beautiful and witty character I feel like she brightens people's days without even realising it. This book was an emotional rollercoaster and I think I would have given it 5 stars if I could get over the diary entry style writing format, but as that's not my fave it lost one. But I still liked the book and on a plus because of this style of writing it was a quick read ☺️
Really enjoyed this, I love Charlotte anyway and I read this one just as fast as her first book. Yes the topics are a little more serious but she still tells it in a charlotte way lol. Liked the fact it was set out by dates like a diary and, i enjoyed reading what i believe is the real story between her and Garry. So sad for her heartbreak throughout the book but, also so pleased for her and Bear. Would def recommend the book, its Charlotte at her best and completely honest in its delivery.
If you love the Geordie shore antics, this book is brilliant. It's funny, as Charlotte always is, but also has some hard hitting chapters that show Charlottes true personality and how far she really has come. This book has kept me entertained and has made me even more of a Charlotte fan then I was. The only criticism I have is that it didn't seem that long. Cannot wait for her next book!
Enjoyable light hearted book for those who are fans of Charlotte and her tv appearances, was a great escape read when I was going through some hard times. I haven't read her other books to compare but this one was really enjoyable and gave me behind the scenes glimpses of Geordie Shore as well as also shining a light on ectopic pregnancies- something I'd never heard about prior to reading this book.
I absolutely adore Charlotte Crosby, she’s a brilliant role model and a fantastic woman. Her first book was hilarious and I loved every minute... this book was more serious as it outlines things such as the Ectopic Pregnancy and Gary situation (made me cry!) but it also shows how she overcame her horrific situation.
This woman continues to have all of my love and support and I can’t wait to get her fitness DVDs and Cookbook.
5 Stars is an understatement, if I could give it more I would!
Much better than her first book. This book opened my eyes to Ectopic Pregnancy that I never NOTHING about. I like how she did this book also. It's a diary entry everyday. That was intriguing.
Enjoyed reading charlottes book didn't enjoy it has much has her first autobiography me me me this book was more like reading her diary but still a good read
Great sequel from her first book, ‘Me Me Me’. It wasn’t as interesting as the first book, seemed maybe a little rushed, but was still a good read! It had me laughing just as much as the first one!
It was interesting reading back on this so long after it was originally written, and knowing all she has done since! Some nice insights into her internal monologue, a good easy read.
A very funny autobiography. It was nice to see her point of view of her final season on Geordie shore, her ectopic pregnancy, etc. I felt all of the emotions throughout this book!
