Read this book right before I was about to start a technical recruiting position and I felt more confidant and ready to begin this career. The whole recruiting process was covered while giving great actionable tips. I would recommend to any recruiter, especially people interested or about to start this career.
I've read multiple books for new recruiters. This is the best one I've read. It isn't just generic--it's offers insights and specific links and strategies for applying the foundational info.
Great book, but I think that it’s mostly a good read for Client Managers rather than members of the sourcing team. However, it’s an excellent resource to learn tips and tricks, understand the industry, trends and how the business works. It has many excellent insights and I would say it’s a must read for every recruiter. Also, as the author mentions, it’s very important to stay in the game by being constantly informed and educated, following and embracing the changes and keeping up with the ever evolving market.
Great book for beginner or intermediate recruiters looking for tips and tricks of the trade. It also provides insights into a back to basics approach for any recruiting team that feels they are underperforming. I rated it 3 stars because there was a lot of redundancy and it seemed as though the author was trying fill a word count limit. I also found a few spelling errors, but overall I would recommend this book to any recruiter looking to further their development.
I am a nurse that is looking to step away from bedside and to apply my MBA. This book allowed insight on new vernacular within the recruiting world. There are a lot of very insightful tips and explanations specifically geared towards healthcare recruiting. I 100% recommend this book for anyone that is new to recruiting!
As a newbie to recruiting learning what and how recruiting was and how to be successful at it. Throughout the chapters there was repetitive mentions of certainty methodology used that makes it easy for the reader to intake, understand, and retain the information.
Good introductory overview for newbies. Spotted some typos here and there and inconsistencies such as "don't be formal with your candidates. They need to perceive that you are part of a professional organization".
Covers the foundations of candidate-side recruitment, some of which were quite eye-opening for me. Would have been nice if the author wrote more on the client side. That's for another book, I suppose.
Good overview, gave me several good ideas to implement. A little too heavy on the transactional side. Need to modify some of its for a more candidate centric journey design.
Just got into this field. Even with the fast paced changes within recruiting, the resources you provided are alive and a great place for more info. Thank you.
As a recruiter that had to learn the basics the "hard" way without much mentorship or guidance under my first few managers, Recruiting 101 boosted my confidence all around. The book covers creative sourcing methods, the value of "ROT (Return on Time)" and personal branding. Overall, this book is a good read for individuals starting off in the recruiting space and want a good foundation to learn from, and one day master.
