DEBUNKING HOLOCAUST DENIAL THEORIES: Two Non-Jews Affirm the Historicity of the Nazi Genocide, by independent researchers and filmmakers James Morcan & Lance Morcan with a foreword by Holocaust survivor Hetty E. Verolme (author of The Children's House of Belsen), aims to end the denial once and for all by tackling the bizarre phenomenon head-on.
Written in close consultation with Holocaust survivors and World War Two historians, no stone is left unturned in meticulously verifying the historical facts of the genocide. The Morcans present a wide array of sources including Nazi documentation, eyewitness accounts, scientific reports and shocking photographic evidence to shut down the debate deniers wish to create.
One by one, the various arguments Holocaust deniers use to try to discredit wartime records are carefully scrutinized and then systematically disproven. Theories debunked include: the six million death toll figure being an exaggeration; gas chamber exterminations being fictitious; Adolf Hitler and the Third Reich being wrongly vilified; the analysis of Holocaust records being a taboo due to specific laws in Europe criminalizing deniers; “Evil Zionists” and Israel being so powerful that they can censor history.
The Holocaust is shown in this book’s pages to be one of the most well-documented and most historically and forensically-proven crimes of the 20th Century. In the process, many of the world’s most infamous deniers, including disgraced British historian David Irving and the former President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, are revealed to be nothing but anti-Semites seeking to further denigrate, undermine and demoralize the world’s Jewish population.
In this enlightening read that covers more than two millennia of global history, anti-Semitism is shown not only to be the root cause of every form of Holocaust denial, but also the reason for the relentless persecution of the Jews since Biblical times. The authors quote verbatim the often sickening and always baseless comments of kings, emperors, politicians, popes, bishops and muftis about the Jews and why they chose to commit numerous genocides against them over the centuries. These historical quotes prove eerily similar to the vicious anti-Semitic statements made by Holocaust deniers of this era…
If you wish to learn more about WW2 and the Nazi extermination camps, if you are confused by all the convoluted conspiracy theories circulating on the Internet about the Holocaust, or if you are currently a denier yourself, then DEBUNKING HOLOCAUST DENIAL THEORIES is a must read.

This preliminary review was written on July 27, 2016:
I started to read this book last June but had to interrupt because I was too busy with with other things and could not properly concentrate on this topic.
This book is too important to read it "on the side". I'll pick it up again as soon as I'll be able to give it the attention it deserves.
The preliminary review was supplemented as follows on February 5, 2017:
I picked up this book again in September 2016 and finished reading it. Because of all kinds of calamities that happened to us last year, I was very short of time and found myself unable to write a proper review that this book deserves. However, I must admit that it was not only lack of time that kept me from writing a review. The political developments here in the U.S. had me terribly worried, and on November 8, my worries turned into reality. I am still shell-shocked to see the U.S. captured by fascism. And I now spend much more time watching the news on TV than I used to because I need to see what's next.
All my Jewish GR friends are worried sick. I don't personally think that the Holocaust would repeat itself (yet anti-Semitism is, definitely, on the rise), but anyone who has survived the Holocaust and/or has lost relatives either in gas chambers or otherwise murdered might be haunted by such fears. Holocaust deniers would, certainly, contribute to this anxiety.
I still feel unable to write a proper review on this book, as going into details about Holocaust denying would raise my blood pressure to dangerous levels. (Watching the news, these days, is already more than is good for my health.)
Therefore, I will only say that I thank the authors from all my heart for writing this book and declare it a must-read. The thorough research that went into this book must have taken a lot of time. And I am very glad that the authors took all this trouble to debunk these nasty and malicious Holocaust denial theories, which don't seem to die out while witnesses to the truth will soon all be dead for natural reasons. (I found the book to have some minor flaws, which forced me to read some paragraphs twice, but I consider these flaws bagatelles; they should not keep anyone from reading this book.)
Debunking Holocaust Denial Theories by James Morgan is a fact filled book about a horrible time in our history. I don't know how anyone with even 2 brain cells could deny the Holocaust! This book is packed with facts, pictures, and quotes. It really is a tear- jerker of a book. It's sad that genocide is not over even after the Him look at Rowanda, and Camp 22.
I bet a lot of people who look at the title of this book - ‘Debunking Holocaust Denial Theories’ – will wonder what the point of reading it is, when it’s so obvious that Holocaust denial theories are complete bunk that don’t need to be debunked in the first place.
Unfortunately, plenty of people do buy into such dangerous nonsense as Holocaust revisionism (mostly due to propaganda put about by anti-Semites), and as the authors point out, Holocaust denial beliefs are often entwined with the far right, and also with conspiracy theorists. Seeing as I’ve always had an interest in conspiracy theories myself, I can tell you I’ve seen first-hand how propaganda is mixed into facts. In fact, I used to get a conspiracy magazine that I thought was very reputable, only to one day find it arrive through my letterbox with a copy of a magazine called ‘Holocaust Theory News’ or something. So it’s easy to see how people can be targeted and swayed.
My point is, there are plenty of people out there who do believe in ‘historical revisionism’ of the Holocaust, and that’s why there’s a real need for this book. If you want to know the absolute facts about each issue Holocaust deniers repeatedly bring up, because you’re unsure yourself, or so that you can set someone straight, then this is the book to read.
This is by far the best non-fiction book these authors have written. There’s a real passion and anger behind the simply written and informative chapters – and rightly so. The subject has been meticulously investigated and it’s presented in clear and concise terms.
Of course, like any book covering the subject of the Holocaust, this book isn’t easy to digest, but I became absorbed in it nevertheless; and it stopped me in my tracks many times as I paused to contemplate the true life horrors described. It has certainly put my mind straight about a lot of odd theories I’ve heard of but have never read much into.
Let this book be the definitive one on Holocaust denial theories, because as the authors show: such theories are bunkum.
I was hoping for a professional account of the Holocaust and a straight forward debunking of Holocaust denial theories.
Instead, I got a book littered with personal attacks against Holocaust deniers, such as "if you want to debate history with the big boys then perhaps you should spend a little less time preaching and go back to school", and "If anti-Semitism hadn't been responsible for so much murder, destruction and suffering over the centuries, this loony conspiracy theory of Jewish global domination (in all its variations) would be hilarious due to its stupidity". Why can't they allow the facts to speak for themselves?? This immaturity completely undermines the cause they are presumably working towards, and frankly makes the book unreadable.
There were also *no citations* in the version I read. It seems that this book is rated so highly based on it's ideology, and not it's actual content. Is a book that cannot even back up it's own assertions truly an authority on truth, logic, and reason?
I would definitely recommend you try a more established and professional history book if you want to know more about what happened during the Holocaust.
Denying an historical fact I must admit I have never understood the Holocaust denial industry and find it unbearably sad that the talented team of father and son, Lance and James Morcan have deemed it necessary to take issue with these racial bigots, but nevertheless am pleased they have. As an avid lover of history I have puzzled over the persistent and consistent anti semitism that runs unabated through its annals of time. Why an intelligent race of consistent high achievers who generally went about their lives in a peaceful manner attracted such hatred is a mystery. Maybe the root cause is simply jealousy of a small race of people who diligently applied higher learning in their daily lives which enabled them to be at the forefront of mankind's advancement throughout the centuries. The Tall Poppy Syndrome. With their usual thorough in depth research and journalistic integrity the Morcans outline the case for The Holocaust against people who deny the existence of an historical documented fact, which beggars belief. Where do these people live? In a remote cave far from civilization? Or are they illiterate?
The sincere effort here makes a healthy contribution to an undestanding of Holocaust denial and delivers one more eulogy to the pseudo-historical rhetoric and pseudo-research buttressing the deniers’ faux arguments.
Though the book would have benefitted by editing and revision for brevity, with the organization of the information, the author deposes the reigning ignorance shaping the predicated constructs of the entire genre of Holocaust denial and revisionism.
I found this to be a very clear and well presented argument against the main points raised by deniers. Having read through a number of denier sites, it is clear that a very deliberate deception is carried out by those actively willing to spread lies. Books like this are essential tools in fighting for truth especially given the declining numbers of living witnesses to the Holocaust. If I was to make a minor grumble it would be that, for my tastes, too many of the references are to secondary sources (newspapers, other books, etc) rather than the primary/documentary evidence. That said, the arguments they make are strong and it would be hard to come away from this book unconvinced.
DEBUNKING HOLOCAUST DENIAL THEORIES: Two Non-Jews Affirm the Historicity of the Nazi Genocide By James & Lance Morcan
A fantastic book about the people who do not believe the Holocaust happened, or happened the way it was reported in History. The Authors did a fantastic job with research and plenty of reliable sources. They had stories from Nazi documents, eyewitnesses, scientific report, and graphic photographs. In my opinion this is one of the best books about the horrific crimes of the Holocaust. A definite "must read" for young/adult and adult readers of all genres. DEBUNKING HOLOCAUST DENIAL THEORIES: Two Non-Jews Affirm the Historicity of the Nazi Genocide is a true five-star read!
This book compiles information about the Holocaust with the mission of dispelling disbelief of it, arranged by arguments concerning it. For me, the Holocaust is a difficult subject for reading. I am not a denier. But I am not clear on many points about it so when I found that the writing was concise and introduced various sources, I kept reading. I had not known how the Nazi machine could make use of American companies, and I did not know the extent of the Nazi cover-up, how evidence was unearthed by archeology. Because the Nazis could destroy millions of people who sided with the Allies, and because they investigated Germans for Jewish relatives (that wasn’t mentioned but I was sure of that), the numbers of Jews killed were understandably uncertain. While the authors included their response to the deniers and to the subject itself, the book seemed intended for those who are not experts on the subject and who might also have an emotional reaction to it. Which is why I appreciated the direct approach to questions about it. This was a difficult book to digest but easier than a more elaborate history. Sometimes it repeated information but that seemed appropriate for its argumentative mission. I think it is hard for many Americans to understand the thinking of the Nazi machine. It was good to inform with quotes from them and their adherents, showing the lack of factual grounding and the generalizations. The authors responding with concrete fact and detail and in a direct response gave, I think, the correct contrast.
Debunking Holocaust Denial Theories: Two non-Jews Affirm the Historicity of the Nazi Genocide is an excellent book by James and Lance Morcan. It is well researched and well thought out. They have spoken to Holocaust survivors as well World War II historians. In this well documented book, they attack five areas deniers talk about and prove the deniers wrong. They discuss the 6 million number figure that deniers claim is wrong; the gas chamber exterminations that are claimed to be false; Hitler and the Third Reich being vilified over this issue; that access to many records are denied to deniers because of discriminate European laws; and the power that is assumes Israel has over every phase of our lives. They use Nazi documents, survivor accounts, eyewitness accounts, scientific tests and results, and photographs (almost entirely Nazi photographs) to prove their case. The fact that the Holocaust is probably the most well documented genocide in history and that it has been proven true through scientific and historical documentation was in their favor. However, the amount of documentation to be gone through was monumental. The book is a must read for students of the Holocaust and World War II as well as for deniers or those who are conflicted as to the authenticity of the Holocaust.
It's a good thing to pay attention to the many denial theories about the Holocaust, but I wonder if this book will change any denier's opinion. I liked to read the different myths. Some of them amazed me, probably because I grew up with the knowledge about what happened to the Jewish people during Hitler's Third Reich. I also read several other book about the Holocaust topic. One of them I want to recommend is: Bloodlands: Europe Between Hitler and Stalin
Holocaust denier or not, this book is for you. It covers more of what the Holocaust is truly about than you will find in any one place. Not only does the book cover numerous claims from Holocaust deniers, but the great detail the authors go into explaining why their claims are a hoax, should not leave a doubt in any an intelligent mind... so after reading this book and you still have doubts...
As a reader, I was taken on a traumatic historical journey of the 'Unfortunates'. Included in this journey are powerful and emotive photographs of Holocaust victims and their oppressors. The photographs chosen for this book are haunting and also a great tool in helping to tie the words to images, and together, the Holocaust becomes all too real.
We owe it to the victims and their families to acknowledge the terror they endured and the fight for justice they still struggle with today.
It was hard to believe that historical facts can be so upsetting to that they need to diffuse and deny. This book is very are opening about the people who want to blame everyone including the Jews for masterminding such a horrible time in world history. I couldn't put the book form. Each page contained another bizarre theory that it was hard to wrap my mind on where this these thoughts were coming from. I highly recommend reading this if you want to see the insane ideas on how the Holocaust happened and who, in the conspiracy opinion, created it. The number of lives that we destroyed because of the atrocity of the Nazis and the countrymen who stood by and watched.
"Factual information can always withstand intense scrutiny and dissection whereas lies and falsehoods cannot."
I opened this book wanting to take away an understanding of what holocaust deniers believe, and I came away with much more. One thing I found particularly interesting was how far back in history some of the seemingly modern day theories actually stem from, and the blatant antisemitic beliefs that the major proponents of these ideas in modern times actually are!
I have used this book as a springboard to further reading and investigation and I would very much suggest it to anyone interesting in learning more about antisemitism and specifically holocaust denial throughout history.
5 starts for message (unbelievable it has to be even written), but let down by poor production values (that nasty glossy self published feel) and too generic pictures (mostly culled from wikipedia)
However, it needs to be read by a younger generation, to whom WW2 is a black hole of knowledge.
I was curious why anti Semites tried to argue the Holocaust never happened but I refused to give one cent to their neo nazi cause so I picked this up to read the arguments and the obvious debunking of said arguments. I was surprised at how well written the book was. It was almost conversational in tone. I know the idiots who believe this stuff will never read this anyway but if you like I was are curious as to why people think this and their "evidence" then I highly recommend it
Congratulations to the authors for confronting popular denial arguments and showing them for the uninformed Anti Semitic fools they are.Anybody who trawls around youtube, conspiracy forums and even some more respectable outlets will see the same arguments appear against the holocaust, here, in an easy to read style, the authors blow these apart with logic and most of all the evidence, much of it from the Nazis themselves. My only regret is they didn't touch, for the most part, on the backgrounds of people pushing this garbage.Of the people I have looked at you find a nest of National Socialist,Hitler apologists and racist cranks with no legitimacy as historians. I've read that some of the pond life in the denier community have published a response to this book I hope the authors produce an even more in depth debunking of their vile poison.
A good, informative, and synthesized book for anyone who does not have the opportunity to read the abundance of information and publications on the topic. Emotionality is understandable when dealing with distortion and falsity of this magnitude, and it suits the style of the authors.
The historicity and the scale of the Inquisition must also find a competent and objective representation, respectively.
A truly Fantastic book about people who do not believe the Holocaust ever happened or that it happened the way History recorded it. The author's did a great job with plenty of research and reliable sources. There are stories from Nazi documents and graphic photographs. I highly recommend for Y/A to Adult Readers.
I quite enjoyed reading this. I was learn something, I need to be more open-minded about any issues. Because I found many fallacies behind every truth had given from this book.
It's sad that this book had to be written, but Holocaust denial is becoming more prevalent. James Morcan and Lance Morcan succinctly rebuke each point of denial, making this an easy and fast read.
Started reading this after reading that rubbish about Churchill. A book on history where the authors did some ground work before putting pen to paper. Will read more from them sometime in the future. A lot of it I knew and a few things that I did not.
Might only be useful as a starting point if you're completely oblivious to what historians or deniers say, and even then, there are better starting points, like the RationalWiki article on Holocaust denial or the Jewish Virtual Library website. What drags the quality of the book to the ground is its poor writing. Not only does it read like a rant on some blog, but the authors take too much of a personal tone in it, in a manner that debunking attempts should not. Cold hard facts are what's useful against conspiracy theories, not being sassy.
Authors I salute you . I read your book in a day , I have to admit I giggled for hours over some of your quips., I know it is a serious matter but I cannot think of better use for the book "Mein Kampf" than the one you cited ...an excellent idea. Thank you for all the hard work and research you have put into this readable , understandable , and so very well written thorn in the side of the deniers of the Holocaust. It is just a shame that books have to be written to get certain people to face up to facts of history that are justified and proven time and time again . Yours thankfully Katheryn worrall
