Tie Me, Unravel Me, Kiss Me

O.M.G. This was lovely, with gorgeous art, and such a satisfying plot!
This is my first story by this author, but it won't be the last. I can't wait to read more of their work. From the characters to the plot development, the surprises and the flashbacks, I was quickly obsessed. It's such a cute, lovely story with a whole lot of heart, and some yakuza thrown in. I really hope it's available in paperback, because I want it!

To begin with, I found the cover a bit ambiguous about which of the two old friends Itabashi would end up with. Adaci is more clean-cut and well put together, taller too, while Shinigawa is shorter, with more messy hair in the illustrations. But the cover is sneaky, in that the MC is sitting down, and has slightly messy hair, so it's hard to tell which one he'll end up with. I loved that, because it meant I got to be surprised later.
When Shinigawa first walked in, I thought – Oh, he's cute! That first panel introducing him has that prep-boy cutie air to it, but the more the story went along, the more I didn't really like him as the love interest and I was worried I'd end up not liking how the book ended.
Then the Yakuza enter the story, and there's this mysterious character we never get to see for about 4 pages. The suspense was killing me, then Adachi appeared and – I'll admit, his character was so angry in those first 3 pages that I didn't see the hotness that came later. I'm pretty sure that was on purpose, because Adachi was supposed to be the enemy. Then we get to Chapter 2 and – Hello! – Adachi is a smooth sweet-talker and then we get that adorable flashback to school, when Itabashi made pyjamas for him and...my heart melted.

I'm not going to go into the full story – or admit who Itabashi ends up with – only that, once the political intrigue began to unfold, I was hooked, and the romance was just...so utterly lovely. The pyjama's were an important and beautiful part of the story, Adachi's growth throughout was so wonderful, Itabashi's strength was admirable and endearing, and Shinigawa learned to stand up for himself, to be a better man. I'm so happy about how it ended.

Oh, and big thanks to the author for those extra panels at the end. The ending broke my heart and mended it with a 4-page relief in the epilogue. Then I got the stunningly adorable pyjama extra scene, and 2 After Story pages!

I really needed something uplifting and refreshing, this week, and this story was it!

I really liked this manga. The relationship was a little rushed, but I didn't even care because I liked it so much. It was just a cute short read.

I'm not a fans of a love triangle stories, but this one did it in such proper lovely way, and I LOVEEEEE THE ENDING!

The story revolves around an old shopping district that going to developed to be a mall. Three childhood friends got involved in here, a tailor that inherited the bussiness for 3 generations, the son of construction company's ceo that responsible for the project, and a yakuza right hand man. They were best friends once, seperated by fate, then reunited in worst possible condition, even when promises and loves got involved.

Should make a movie out of this story, with a lot of action scene, embezzlement and corruption, yakuzas fighting with knives, a lot of twists and one outwits another. 😎

I was surprised of how good this manga is!

This is not the usual yaoi romance! This one has a story/plot that is beyond the typical uke/seme interaction. There is a plan for a neighborhood's shopping district to be demolished and a new shopping center to be build in its place. That would require the present stores to be closed and the tenants to be evicted. Of course, the shopkeepers/merchants unite to fight the construction company. Here is when three childhood friends get reunited - each on a different side of the equation: shopkeeper, worker for the construction company and yakusa. There is a question in each of their minds on who they can trust, how to solve their fight and how to reconnect to their friends. Oh, and also romance!
It says it is volume 1, but the story finished at the end of the volume. I'm not sure how they would continue the story.
So to recap: Drawing is very good and characters are individualized (meaning it's not just the hair color that differentiate them). Story is very good, as I mentioned before. The only thing not 100% is the translation. There are some preposition and articles omission, and some funny/weird phrases but overall ok English.

This was overall a cute story that gave me some inspo, but had some problems. One was the translation was bad, which made the story difficult to follow/understand at times… like I didn’t realize until late into the story that Shinibashi’s father wasn’t the one who’d brought the Yakuza in, so it felt kinda weird to have even had him be the son of the company owner in a lot of ways?

The whole Yakuza storyline felt a bit…. Like this guy who was basically going to have his underling killed for “betrayal” is gonna just let it all go, let him run away and leave the mob and all, just bc he saved his life? Idk it felt a bit…. Hard for me to swallow… but idk the whole story was a bit muddled, and it was confusing as to what Adachi did to get freed. I guess he convinced the guy they’d picked as the scapegoat to take the fall after all? It felt like maybe they should have had another scene or two clarifying all that.

I honestly don’t think I could recommend this as a whole because of a lot of these problems… I also felt like the whole tailor thing could have been exploited better.

I remember reading a manga by this mangaka in the past and liking it. However, this was not my favorite. There was just a little too much going on, and it all happened so quick. I could've used more romance.

Short and sweet

It's a cute story, though no one was tied up or unraveled. There was plenty of kissing, however. I wish there had been a few more visits between the main characters, but it's fine as it is.
