Rayanna Jamison, USA TODAY Bestselling author of sexy, sassy, spanky romance, lives in sunny southern Utah in a house she affectionately refers to as "Grand Central Station," with her mom, husband, their 2 teenage kids, 3 lizards, a boisterous kelpie named Cleo, and whatever "adopted" teenagers happen to be staying there at the time.
Rayanna loves her author friends, coffee, sushi, crazy knee socks, and her hot tub where she writes most of her books on her phone.
Sometimes known as "the mermaid author", when she's not writing in the hot tub or reading by the pool, Rayanna can be found bingeing Netflix on her kindle, while crocheting a blanket for someone she loves.
2.5 rounded up to 3. Once again I've come across a book that I feel no connection to or between the characters. Although I didn't feel a connection I did like elements of the story
Wow!! I only made it to 7%. Seriously, it starts by the heroine arriving home and her father forgets to pick her up, so she walks. Then The hero spots her walking on the road home, hitchhiking, and because she refuses to get in his truck, he literally grabs a hold of her and spanks her!! I mean, WTF?? It felt creepy and cringy as hell reading it. And I thought maybe he was a single father when I got this book. But no, it's a Daddy/Dom type of book and I just can't do books where the girl calls him Daddy. I'm sorry but no!! It's just too gross for me.
This book could have been titled The Brat and the Bully. She acts like a brat, and he decides to take it upon himself to set her right, outside of the context of a relationship, and before they've discussed it. He rejects her repeatedly and has no thought for her feelings, only for what his goals are as far as curbing and shaping her behavior. Some of the other characters seem to change personalities on a whim, whatever fits the storyline at the time. Just not done well.
I've been waiting for this book since seeing the previews. And while it wasn't exactly what I was expecting I certainly wasn't disappointed! Ms. Jamison stated in a post that each of her books get hotter, and I have to agree. I loved Collared and I loved this book too. In this book you have an alpha male whose insecurities in the beginning do not stop him from delivering some pretty hot spankings to Franny. What we know from the beginning is that Franny only returns once a year having left this small town behind years ago. She is not close to her parents and she does not have a close connection to the town, and the reason given is a lack of discipline from her parents. Her parents seem nice enough, perhaps a little distant. But Franny is out of control and irresponsible. She does not fully support herself. Finn is the ranch hand that used to live on their land and has worked his way up to mayor. Over the years he has become close with Franny's father. Some things I really liked about this book is that I think it showed their relationship developing in a realistic manner. She calls him "daddy," but she feels uncomfortable the first time. There is a very natural progression with their relationship. While I felt it ended a little too abruptly for me, I still give it 5 stars because the story was so good. Some things to note for some readers: there is much more spanking and discipline than sex in this book and they have a DD/lg dynamic so please take that into account when deciding whether to buy this book. *I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Francesca Upton marched to the beat of her own drum, the child of wealthy parents that financed her life. She’d only visit once a year for four days, dreading the trip and anxious to get back home. She felt neglected by them growing up, raised more by the hired help than her folks. But this trip, her father forgot to pick her up at the airport, and being Francesca, she decided to hitchhike home. Who stops but Finn. She had a crush on him growing up, but had long since changed her mind. So she thought. But refusing to get in his truck, running the opposite way, only earned her a spanking. Things really got heated from there. This was a good story, full of moments that I had to laugh at her language, and felt sorry for her and for Finn in turns. Without giving the plot away, I’ll say it has a HEA ending and is well worth the read. I voluntarily reviewed and advance reader copy of this book.
There were a lot of elements I really liked about this story. The characters themselves were very interesting. Both Francesca and Finley came across as very "real." They both had insecurities about what they wanted and how to go about it. I liked that once they decided on the direction that they wanted their relationship to take they jumped into it with both feet. The spanking scenes were good and descriptive without being cheesy.
There were a few things I didn't like as much about the story too. With as cold and distant as her relationship with her parents were not seeing the transition into the loving ones was a bit jarring. Also when Finn freaked out of her after that one spanking was horrible and there is no real acknowledgment from him. Then undeservedly spanking her harder and longer just so she gives in first in very irresponsible. I think these things bother me so much because it just doesn't seem like something his character would do.
This is a lovely story, Francesca did most of the running initially. She lived a somewhat aimless life supported by her parents but that appears to be the extent of the spoilt little rich girl persona. Her parents are somewhat distant towards her but care about her and each other. Although they were portrayed to be rich snobs, it turns out that her father started from nothing and eventually came to own the largest ranch in Texas(!) and also trusted Finn, their employee's nephew, enough to let him deal with their accounts and later supported his bid for mayor. So the parents are not as snobbish as first thought and Francesca is not as spoilt and brattish as first thought. Francesca quickly realised that she needs what Finn can give out and has her work cut out persuading him. Quite entertaining. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
I have to admit that I have mixed feelings about this book. There are aspects of this book that I absolutely adored reading and visualizing and was thoroughly entertained. But there were also a few times when reading that book that I found myself bored and almost didn’t continue reading it. I am really glad that I didn’t stop reading during these parts because for the majority of it, I did enjoy the book. Finn and Francesca, once they hit their stride, is a couple that have an age-play relationship that is based on love and discipline and it works for them. It isn’t a relationship that I would want to find myself a part of – but the author provides one that fulfills what they both need to be happy and complete – that’s really all anyone can ask. I enjoyed reading this story both of the characters were very entertaining. Right from the beginning we are thrown into the relationship between Finn and Franny and I was rooting for them. I didn't like how they both thought they weren't good enough for each other which leads to running away and fighting feelings, it just wasn't necessary. Once their relationship bloomed, I did like how Finn handled it by making her do research and not spanking her for every little thing, he was very understanding. As far as the age play I'm not sure if I really believed it, sometimes it seemed awkward and just thrown in. She called him daddy but I don't think the dynamic was fleshed out as well as it could have been, though I would love to read more about this couple. Not having doting, loving parents while growing up had a huge adverse affect on Francesca Upton. She couldn't seem to find her way in life as an adult and in her mid twenties, still relied on her parent's support to survive in the life she made for herself five states away from them. Coming home for the holidays, her annual four day visit at which time she is given her "allowance" changed her life this time-or I should say, Mayor Finley Silas Tucker changed her life. Francesca is in dire need of discipline and a full time daddy, never having received any attention from her father while growing up, and Finn is the man for the job. This is a delightful and often funny story that is guaranteed to entertain.
I've never read anything by this author before but I actually really liked this story. Fran is a girl who comes from a privileged upbringing but in fact prefers the more basic way of life. Finley grew up working at her family's ranch and when the two meet back up as adults he knows just what the sassy girl needs.
This is a love story with strong characters and a sweet and well written age play element to it. I will definitely be reading more books by this author.

I loved this book. The characters are deep and real with plenty of inner conflict. I was rooting for Franny and Finn from the beginning. The plot is interesting with unexpected twists. In spite of the title, the age play element is minimal; domestic discipline fans will like this book. In a scene that I loved, at Finn's request Franny researched the different power exchange dynamics so she could decide which would work best for her. The story was compelling from start to finish. I highly recommend this well-written book.
Francesa Upton is making her annual Thanksgiving trip home to Texas, but her father forgets to pick her up at the airport. She decides to hitchhike the 45 miles home. Mayor Finley Tucker sees her and stops to pick her up. But they have baggage -- she was rejected by him during her teenage crush. She refuses the ride and takes off running. He catches her, spanks her, then takes her to her family ranch.
A relationship develops as their roles become Daddy and Little Girl. Both have to fight through personal doubts, but love wins.
While the writing itself was good and the storyline had promise I could not get past the feeling it have me in the very beginning. The relationship started off with abuse and there is no way around it. Abuse of power and boys by Finley, the sheriff and her father. Not once was a password mentioned and while Fran was given an opportunity to call it off I found it hard to believe he would have let her. The whole DD\lg got a lot right the parts it got wrong left me feeling worried. All in all it was a fun read it just needs a disclaimer
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book. Finley and Francesca were raised by the same woman a few years apart. She the rich girl and he the poor farm boy. Now he's the mayor and she's there for her yearly visit to her parents. While there, Finley offers to help her with her discipline problems - and there are many. She only agrees, because she wants Finn so badly. This is a dd/lg story and the ageplay comes on quickly. I really enjoyed it and read it straight through.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. Wow, this was a delightful book with a sassy spoiled young lady and a hard working young man who is the mayor of the small town. Her parents never set limits or discipline so she did whatever she wanted. Things change when her crush of many years steps in as her daddy. Lots of spanking, growing up, romance and a good storyline. I enjoyed this book very much. Some mild elements of Age Play.
A fantastic story! The main characters are Francesca and Finley. The start of the book you see Francesca getting in trouble. Finley always seem to be around when Francesca starts acting out. The daddy/little girl exchange is precious. There is plenty of humorous as well as tragic issues. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
I love this author, and this book is an excellent example of her awesome work and brilliant imagination. Her characters breathe life into the story, and she never misses an opportunity to incorporate lots of OTK action.
It well written and very good book. Rayanna Jamison grabs a hold of your attention from the start and keeps your attention all the way through the book. I had trouble putting this book down. I recommended to anyone who loves to read to get this one.
Let the punishment fit the crime in this age play book
Francesca comes home to find her childhood crush as the new mayor. Fran has a run away moth that keeps getting her into trouble. Finley is more than happens to correct her through corporal punishment.
This was such a hot spicy book i really enjoyed the main characters and the connection they share great storyline i couldnt put the book down. Great book
I love daddy Dom/ Little girl romance. This was heading in the right direction but it took too long to get there. There were a few spankings between Finn and Franny but the story didn't get hot until the end. I found it to be a little boring
Francesca comes home for 4 days every year to see her parents and get more money to help her thru. This year dad fails to pick her up and she decides to walk home. Finley, now mayor, sees her and picks her up....and the adventure starts. Nice ending, but wish it had gone a little farther.
Once again Rayanna Jamison presents a red hot Daddy who is highly capable of creating a red hot bottom when his Little girl doesn't take care of herself. Very arousing!
I really enjoyed this story. A spoiled rich girl meets her match when she butts heads with the man she has been attracted to forever. The characters were lively and very appealing. Definitely a book you should read. It will leave you smiling.
I loved how open both characters are despite their social circle and expectations. Plus the female lead character is so real with relatable fears, insecurities and mistrust. Despite everyone and everything they manage to find their way to each other.
