I don't own single Lego, but it has Brutalism, I was sold.

A have a dream of this content, being mashed up with Jonathan Meades Dan Cruickshank voice overs as the models are assembled and displayed.

Back to the book, it's outstanding detail and depth. Some of the models are just enough to explain the concepts and the example, but nothing more.

This isn't a replica book.

Wow! Incredible what has been built with LEGO! It's been fun to look through the advanced copy we received of this book with my son and be wowed by the creations pictured. He especially loves the clear how-tos for building his own models after the pictures. Easy to follow and fun!

Nice review of architectural styles

Interesting book to learn about different architecture styles and to make more realistic Lego models. The instructions are high level, so not great as a reference for specific elements (I.e other books are more comprehensive). However, it was a worthwhile reading anyway

This is a great book. A brief introduction to each architecture style is complemented with examples (both of real buildings and those from lego), instructions for at least one small model, and suggestions regarding common brick colours and types useful for recreating the style.

Picked this up for "research" but was honestly impressed with how brief, but also informative it is. Loved the homages to various architects with the mock-ups from other professional LEGO builders. My son had a blast looking at this with me too!

The LEGO books put out by No Starch Press, including The Neighborhood LEGO Book, LEGO Adventure, and Beautiful LEGO, among others, are great books to buy, not borrow. They are better-constructed than the DK LEGO books (i.e. the page block won't break off the binding the first time the book falls off a table), and include beautiful builds, photographs of real objects and buildings, great - if complicated - instructions, and just... you can tell that the people involved in the making of these books are passionate and knowledgeable. Each one is a treat that respects the LEGO child.

Aika keskinkertainen Lego-kirja, jossa käydään läpi keskeisiä arkkitehtuurisuuntauksia ja niiden versiointia Legoilla. Kirja on länsikeskeinen, eikä muita arkkitehtuuriperinteitä edes mainita.

A great book with synopses on various architectural movements and tips on how to construct models using legos. They give you a few examples to build with instructions. Includes a glossary with terms and references. There are also pictures of various Lego models and photos of actual architectural buildings as examples. A quick read and a great reference. I recommend it if you or your kids like legos, architecture or both.

It's more of a "how to build" with certain models of styles taking up more time/space than explaining the styles. Still, it's interesting to see the various styles being done in Lego and the last section of the book explains the Lego "artists" that were featured in the book.

Also interesting that Habitat 67 was done in Lego Bricks at the time. Didn't know that.

Wonderful look at modern architecture starting with neo-classicalism and ending with the high tech sessions of today's buildings. The author sprinkles in some quick wit with context based lines throughout the book.

Pretty simple concept, take a book which summarizes architectural styles and then show step by step Lego instructions to build an example building of that style. In true Lego form, the designs and steps build on each other and get more complicated. Very cool book.

Why not use lego to reproduce known buildings? Browsing through this book you are sure to get one or two lego building tricks too.
