Lauren refuses to believe that her sisters traveled back in time to tenth-century Scandinavia. Cybil must be off doing one thing or another. And what of Samantha? She returned then vanished again with a bunch of uncivilized ruffians who called themselves Vikings. While thankful the crude men finally left, she’s now caught in an unusual situation. No matter how hard she tries, she cannot step foot outside her Winter Harbor chalet.

Desperate to return to the twenty-first century and figure out why he and Lauren were cursed by a Nidstang, Tait Sigdir struggles with what feels like half a soul. But that’s not all. When he finally returns to the future, he realizes how troubling things really are. Though drawn to Shannon, he can’t seem to stay away from her sister, Lauren. Hard to believe considering how difficult she is to be around. Even for a flirt like him. Yet if he’s not near her, he becomes uncharacteristically sullen.

Caught in an unraveling hex that steers them closer to the enemy, Tait and Lauren are forced on an adventure that tests them in more ways than one. Friendship emerges. Passion ignites. Even so, love does not come so easily to those who are cursed. As it turns out, they must get through a whirlwind of unfortunate events that will either bring them together or drive them further apart.

Thankfully this instalment in the series was a VAST improvement from the last and the spark I saw in the first book is making a comeback. The different elements of the story were much better balanced and complement each other perfectly as in the first book. My minor complaint with this one is that I’m not a huge fan of Lauren. I’m glad we got to see her grow and come out of her shell but it took awhile for that to come around and leading up to it I found her insufferable. But the story itself is great and I can’t wait to continue with the series!

This is the, story of Lauren and Tait, the fierce.. He comes from the past to meet her, but they both see a symbol of a curse. He cannot get Into the house after the sight , and she cannot leave. This book dealt a lot, with things that held her back. Memories, or painful things, that she had hidden In doors of her mind. Tait is her fated mate, but she refuses to believe any of this is real. She feels more comfortable hiding in her head, than facing reality. I gave this a four because, I grew weary with the back and forth. She would make huge progress only to 'with draw back, and shy away. The book does fill in some missing puzzle pieces, for the series, and that
was a plus. The last part of the book, answers a lot of the questions, which was needed and then it is a nice ending. I would have preferred a little, less psychology, and therapy for the couple, and more action. I am anxious to get on to another book, in this series since a child is in danger.....some action ......all in all ,it did answer some questions, and at the end I was happy for them both. . She had a really fierce Dragon, yet besides a temper, it took her nearly three fourths of the book, to become who she is meant to be. .worth the read though. Tait was a saint, I wanted to smack her into reality several times as did her sisters, but all were mostly patient with her. Tait also needed to mature, and not hope to chase others if mated for life, or not become mated, and just be friends, but no one could so much as look at her, without his Dragon going crazy...perhaps the seer interventions were needed, but cut some of the indecision out ,or make the, seer appear earlier, so trust could be built much sooner. It also isn't always a plus they can read each other's minds, and feelings, when trying to build a relationship.3.5 stars rounded to 4 stars because I do love this author.

Somebody, anybody, please! Slap me hard with a very heavy object. Do it quickly. I need to know that the reality of things are there is truly no time travel, no delicious fantasy of sexy hot devilish men, no burning romance that will singe off my pants along with setting my soul afire. Someone. Anyone. Please!

Okay, enough of my dramatic reverie. I finally got it. I got me a top star rating read from this series. It took me a few reads to fully understand what I had stepped into. I just liked Viking. After this read and I am sure more to come, I have come to love me some sexy, caveman type, god looking Viking alpha males. Even those that feel they are drawn to my sister and not me. Lauren had some issues of her own. Trust and belief were just a few of them. She was stubborn, hardhead, and too damn curious. Sigdir had a different set of issue and some centered around the one woman that he should stay away from .

This book will draw you into a world that will captive, intrigue, and titillate you senses. The depth of characters, plot, and concepts will get you to pick up each new copy. Why not start with Soul of a Viking? You will be hooked and need your next fix for some Viking, time-traveling, romance adventure.

Wow, just wow!!! I have been a fan of Sky Purington for several years. She is one of maybe 5 authors that I will buy her new books without ever reading the blurb. I just know that it will be amazing. I truly love the McLomain series no matter which century they are in. Sky makes the characters come alive and they seep into your heart and soul. Their passions become yours and their trials become real. My heart broke for Tait and Lauren as they worked through the issues they faced. As usual with Sky’s books, the story is both exciting and complex. The whole time travel thing is in a word, confusing sometimes. Sky makes it seem normal. And when she says these alpha men turn into dragons, well, I can see it!!! So do yourself a favor and start reading Sky’s books. If you love alpha men, strong women, love, soulmates and magic then these books will make you sigh!! If I could give it 10 stars, I would. I am never happy to finish any of these books because I love them so much. But I read voraciously to get to the conclusion because they are just that good!! VERY VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Love Skye's MacLomain Worlds

Another fantastic story about the MacLomains and their family lines. The interactions between the family generations and "others" in all time periods. The puzzle pieces given with each couples' story makes it hard to wait for the next story and when it all comes together - awesome is the only word!

I reviewed this book after reading it as part of the "MacLomain Series Viking Ancestors".
Two people tied to each other in the oddest of ways, learn that the curse that appears to be on them, has been placed in a former lifetime, and they need to go through so much, to find each other again.
An enthralling tale, keeps a reader apprehensive of what happens next, as all good stories do.

I am really enjoying this entire series. Loved the hero Tait but needed more time with Lauren once all her issues were resolved to really get to like her. The series' overarching story is compelling although there were elements in this book that I found a bit confusing. Certainly no complaints though. As with the other books, it was captivating and fun.

Ok. Getting a bit repeated. Have to know who is next and what’s gonna happen. The suspense is done. It’s starting to get yada yada. But an easy read so I will continue.

I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review and purchased the published edition.

We first met Tait as “Tait the Fierce” in Honor of A Scottish Warrior. Then again when he looked out for Erin in Oath of a Scottish Warrior, but by then he had come into his lusty ways, inherited from his father Kol. Will he finally get a woman for himself?

Lauren is the last woman Tait should be interested in. If this woman was anymore stiff and uptight she’d fall over in a stiff wind. I want to strangle her everytime she opens her mouth she’s so prissy. So of course you know Fate and Sky are going to throw them together.

In the continuation of Viking Ancestors Kin we take a journey of discovery, many questions are answered and we learn more about the history of the Dragon clans and the evil that is haunting them now. Tait and Lauren must work together to survive. Will his heat be able to melt her ice and give them their HEA?
