Adam Hargreaves is an English author and illustrator. The son of Roger Hargreaves, he continues his father's popular Mr. Men series of children's books. Hargreaves also served as inspiration for the series. When at the age of six he asked his father "What does a tickle look like?", Roger used that question to create the first book, Mr. Tickle.

This was the best out of the three Doctor Who books I’ve read in this series. This story captures the essence of Missy and the twelfth doctor’s personalities on a really deep level. It was really cool to see such a lighthearted story with these two characters that I adore.

This series of Mr Men derived Doctor Who books (one for each Doctor) is great fun - aimed particularly at fans of Doctor Who and the Mr Men alike.

From the pen of Adam Hargreaves (author, illustrator) who is the son of original Mr Men creator Roger Hargreaves.

Light-hearted and fun stories with lovely Mr Men style illustrations - the whole series (12 Doctors) is now available.

"Missy loved to cause trouble."

I think it would have been nice to have a companion for twelfth- I would have had Bill and Nardole, rather than Clara as they spent less time with him. Instead the Doctor chases Missy through time and and space to stop her from stealing objects, to help find out what her plans were. This included a sceptre in Egypt to the Crown Jewels in London. Missy was planting Cybermats in each locations. You never find out the purpose, unless it was to do with her plans to convert the dead into cybermen. By going by how the books have gone they don't really follow any storyline with the continued of the show.

3,5/5. Certainly not the best one of the series, but like always funny and entertaining. I will probably be the last one I read in this collection. I've seen what I wanted to about it.

No one has ever been better suited to be a Mr Men than Peter Capaldi. Just check out that hooter.

Well, this is a book for children but I enjoyed it. It's very short like all Hargreaves books (Mr. Men and Little Misses) but it doesn't disappoint. Of course I'm a Doctor Who fan and I particularly like the 12th Doctor, so it was extra fun for me. Only thing is that it's only The Doctor and Missy, no companions, I guess they didn't know which one to choose? Hopefully they'll make more stories, I'd like to see Clara Oswald and Bill Potts in Mr. Men/Little Miss form.

Out of the modern Doctor's this one has been my favorite. Capaldi looks weirdly perfect as this character.

The story zips along at a fun fast pace, and with Missy being the protagonist there's some great lines between the pair.

Thought this fit the 12th Doctor well and made me giggle. Definitely helping my Goodreads challenge out.

Okay, so I was at the bookstore in the science fiction section eavesdropping on a young teen boy mansplaining science fiction to a young teen girl (note: The young teen girl had just picked up a copy of Leviathan Wakes and had already decided to buy it and he was all "Are you sure? That's pretty hard-core sci fi" and I was standing by in case she needed to be rescued but, after that, he more went into why he liked the book so I left it alone) and, in order to look as if I were doing Important Literature Things and not eavesdropping, I picked this up. But it's a book! And I read it!

Honestly I was disappointed that the bookstore didn't have this for the 10th Doctor. The 10th is my favorite. The 12th is not, so I'm not sure if I wasn't that amused because the book wasn't that amusing or because the 12th is more meh for me in general. It was cute though.

This is mixed bag. Although the Doctor looks great on the cover - perhaps the best cartoon of all the Doctors in this series - he doesn't quite look right in the illustrations within the book. The difference is the sun glasses: the character should have retained them throughout. Missy is not really recognisable from her cartoon, but the character has a great last scene.

One of Hargreaves’ better efforts. The Doctor succeeds in foiling Missy’s convoluted and nefarious plan—without understanding it or allowing her to explicate! His insouciance is a nice touch but, even so, the story fails to live up to the cover’s allure.

This is the fourth of these books that I have read now. I really like this mashup of Dr Who and Mr Men/Little Miss. This is about the Twelfth Doctor and features Missy. It is a fun story but I wish Clara or Bill featured in this story.
I look forward to the next four books being released in August.

A fluffy bit of nonsense – perhaps just that little bit too fluffy – but hard to knock what is presumably meant as a silly gift to the Doctor Who fan in your life.

I can't imagine going out and buying the rest of the set, but I can imagine chuckling as I unwrap them under the tree.

Dr. Twelfth is a children's picture book written and illustrated by Adam Hargreaves and is a part of the Doctor Who Meets Mr Men and Little Miss series, which tells a story about the Twelfth Doctor chasing Missy throughout time to stop her from stealing various priceless objects and ponder what her nefarious plan. Today is National Dr Who/T.A.R.D.I.S. Day (23 November) and I thought it would be apropos to read this today.

The text is rather simple and straightforward. Hargreaves aptly captured the essence of the Twelfth Doctor's demeanor fairly well. The illustrations are a perfect combination between the Doctor Who and the Mr Men and Little Miss universes. The Twelfth Doctor depicted really looks like Peter Capaldi from the Mr Men and Little Miss universe.

The premise of the book is rather straightforward. The Twelfth Doctor is chasing Missy trying to stop her from stealing various priceless objects throughout time and trying to figure out what her nefarious plans are with them. Missy steals a scepter from Ancient Egypt, then the crown jewels from the Tower of London, a golden statute from Japan, a Fabergé egg from Russia, a bag of gold dust from Wild West, and a diamond ring from Paris. Finally the Doctor caught up with Missy during the Stone Age and deduced that she was placing Cybermats and the stolen jewelry was a ruse to distract The Doctor.

All in all, Dr. Twelfth is a wonderful children's book about the Twelfth Doctor and the perfect amalgamation of Dr. Who and the Mr Men and Little Miss universes.

Doctor Who/Mr. Men collaboration originated by Roger Hargreaves.

I love this comical little series of books. We’ve been collecting them over the years. I’ve been catching up on the ones I bought for my son at Christmas.

Dr. Twelfth chases Missy, causing havoc through the ages. Will he figure out what her devious plan is or stop to get lunch?

It's not a long book, but it gets the characterization of the 12th Doctor spot on, and Missy is a welcome addition too, she's up to all sorts of no good. I know I'm not the target audience but I think it would be a great book for young readers to enjoy.

The older girl read this one to us. We didn't care much for the story, though the pictures are always delightful. The Doctor is chasing someone through time, and all the girls could say was they thought the poor guy should stop for lunch.

What a hoot! The hubs and I are finally reading this series I bought for him at Xmas. Both of us being Whovians, and me being a librarian and fond of the quirky “Little Mr./Miss/Ms.” series, we are amused.

Better than the Eleventh or First ones. I guess Peter Capaldi just translates really well into a blocky cartoon character?

This one ends on a bit of a cliffhanger. We never did learn what Missy was up to. Not sure if this is a meta-commentary on Steven Moffat’s plotting?
