Pushing Her Limits

Rate this book
The author of Fueling His Hunger, Sparrow Beckett revs up the Masters of Adrenaline series to maximum velocity...

When it comes to boosting cars, Atlas Larson is the best of the best. Being the king of car thieves doesn’t leave much time for loving—in the fast lane or otherwise—until he finds himself most wanted by a woman as driven as he is.

As the only female detective in an all boys club, Mila Palmer has a lot to prove. Busting a car theft ring will put her career on the map, and the tall, blond, and wicked leader of this crew hasn’t been too cautious about covering his tracks.

When Atlas’s and Mila’s signals cross, the spark between them threatens to set the city on fire. Getting their kicks playing cop and robber with bondage cuffs is one thing, but if they actually fall in love, either Mila will have to turn in her badge or Atlas will have to turn himself in...

Leigh's review:

For me, this was my favorite out of the Masters of Adrenaline series. I loved the story, I loved the sex and I enjoyed seeing how it meshed in to the other books in this series.

Focusing on the last and youngest of the three original members of the auto theft ring, we get to know Atlas Larson. And I really liked finding that there was much more to him than he was portrayed in the earlier stories. He was not your average computer geek. A huge and imposing guy, Atlas worked as a white-hat hacker and computer repair man by day, car thief by night.

But as his passion for the thrill that stealing cars gave him waned, he searched for a way to get out of that life and go straight. Meeting Mila gives Atlas the push he needs.

From the start, Atlas knows that Mila is a cop. Assigned to discover who is behind a string of auto thefts, Mila zeros in on Atlas as her target and finds a way to get close to him. But when the line between what she is doing to get to know a suspect and what she is doing to get close to Atlas as a man blurs, Mila needs to search deep to determine what she wants. What is more important: the passion she has found with being submissive to Atlas? or her career? And since they are both playing a role, how much of their relationship is real?

Watching these two get together and play was sexy and the tension was palpable. Mila and Atlas simply combusted when they were with one another. Yet, for all the steam that their sex scenes generated, I never felt the romance or affection between them. I certainly felt the attraction! I just wish I felt more tender emotions. It may have been a bit hard to spot the romance with all of the anal sex going on as a weird form of punishment. There was a lot. But nevertheless, I enjoyed the story, the soul searching these two had to do, and the realization of what was important to them.

My only true regret in the story was Fox and Addison. When I first met them in “Stealing His Thunder” I liked Fox but found Addison to be overly brash. That didn’t change in this story, but I feel as if the other characters matured around her and made her seem more juvenile and crass by comparison. Her and Fox were the same flirty couple that they had always been, but after seeing other couples grow into more mature relationships, I felt as if they devolved into caricatures of themselves and I could have done without their over-the-top sexual banter.

Regardless, Pushing Her Limits was a great addition to the Masters of Adrenaline series.

I had some mixed emotions reading this one. I'm a huge Sparrow Beckett fan. I will seriously read anything they write. I didn't totally buy the cop vs criminal angle of the story, because it all just happened so fast and easy. Everything else was a win though.
If I could build my perfect sadist boyfriend, he would be very much like Atlas. Yum 😉
And Mila and Atlas together were just awesome. So any complaints I had got pushed to the side.
This series was a spin-off from the Masters Unleashed Series (which I totally love and am anxiously waiting for the next book) and the trio of Loke, Geir, and Rune have appeared in both of these series... So... I'm crossing my fingers that we get a series full of their Scandinavian awesomeness in the near future.

Holy smokes what a book!! I'm still reeling, panting, among other things!! This whole series has been amazing and I found that once I started each book, I didn't want to stop reading until I was done!

Mila is a detective in a man's world. She's always having to prove her self to her male counterparts. Her latest mission is to bust up a car theft ring. She takes her laptop to a computer shop that is owned by Atlas Larson, the king of stealing cars. What she finds when she drops her laptop off is totally unexpected. He's absolutely gorgeous and has her girly parts wanting more. Will she give in to her desire or stay on course?

Atlas steals cars for a living. It's the family business and all he's ever known except when he and his family decide to open a computer repair business as a cover. He also regularly visits a BDSM club where he enjoys "playing". He's tuff, he's heartless when it comes to women, he works hard and plays just as hard..until one day when a hot woman comes in to have her laptop fixed. She's hot, she's flirty and he wants her. He's great at figuring people out so he knows by instinct that she's a cop. But she continues to lie to him and he's fine with that because she appears to be a submissive and the things she lets him do to her is off the charts! But, what happens when they develop feelings for each other? One of them is going to have to give up their career!

Amazingly hot story!! Very different scenario than I get the opportunity to read! Sparrow Beckett has quickly become one of my "go to" authors when I want a book that's hot, fast paced and leaves me captivated and wanting more!!

3 stars for the story, 5 for the smut

Somehow I missed the first 2 book in this series, but I didn't feel lost.

I enjoy BDSM and I love a sadist, and Altas was a great Sadist.

*Note to self: Don't look for spanking GIF unless alone or "smut"

My review skills have dwindled, I don't know what to say about books anymore, maybe I'm lazy.

Two people on different sides of the law find love and kink.

It was a sexy book. There is knife play, NO blood. :)

The car thief and the cop? Who really has the most to lose if they manage to admit what their hearts desire?

Mila is a from a family of police officers, strong willed and dedicated to prove she belongs in a still mostly male dominated department. Never did she expect her investigation bring her face to face to some of her most hidden fantasies.

Atlas's family has been on stealing cars for decades and although he may be ready to give it up, he can't risk his family.

Fast paced and hotter than the cars, this is a great read! Cops and robbers will never be the same!

I liked this book! The whole problem of the story got very easily resolved, but I’m glad it worked out that they could be together in the end. Did not love how much the characters had anal, but that’s just a preference of mine.

Atlas sometimes has to assure his girl that he'll be feeling affects the day after too, “not true,” he objected. “That tight *** of yours almost snapped my ***k in half.” She smothered a laugh. Served him right, but she wasn’t about to say so in this position. “And later I’ll show you my back. Apparently this kitten has claws.” I liked seeing Atlas be playful, “harsh, but I completely understand.” He patted her back, pretending to comfort her. “You only had two orgasms this morning, so you’re cranky.” I really liked this book, I loved Atlas.

I received a free copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Omg Sparrow Beckett has done it once again. Awesome characters, a great plot, and panty-melting sex scenes. I'm just so sad that the Masters of Adrenaline series is over!

Pushing Her Limits tells the story of geeky car thief Atlas Larson and Mila Palmer, the undercover cop who tries to bust Larson and the rest of the car thieving gang but unstead falls head over hills for Atlas and it's a mutual feeling from Atlas. But can a cop and a car thief who aren't being honest about their professions really have a relationship?

There were so many times I found myself holding my breath because I had no idea what was going to happen and there was never a dull moment. If you have read and enjoyed any other Sparrow Beckett novels, don't skip out on Pushing Her Limits!

Pushing her limits is a sexy twist on Cops and Robbers, where the cop fall in love with the robber after lust-filled trysts. Altas Larson is a highly intelligent computer whiz and a master car thief. He was raised to lie, cheat and steal. He’s also from a family of master thieves who steal from the rich. Their operation is a highly-sophisticated approach to car stealing. Mila Palmer is a female detective with a lot to prove, being the daughter of a disgraced officer and being a woman in an old boy’s club has her working harder than ever. When she meets Altas her perception of right and wrong shifts as she is sucked in his world of BDSM, she uncovers truths about herself while trying to stay on the right side of the law. Altas starts off as an assignment and quickly the clearly drawn lines start to blur.
Pushing her limits is an action-packed erotic romance, it is a great read. The authors successfully craft complex characters that made me the reader question my own sense of morality. It is third book in the Masters of Adrenaline series and it can be read as a standalone. Pushing her limits gave you a sneak peek into the lives of past characters which added value and credibility to the story. The book pushed me into their world and never let me out until the story was over. This is not for the faint of heart, it is an erotic romance pushing the boundaries of what is usually acceptable in regular relationships. The setting is Las Vegas hot sun, desert, luxury cars, mansions and a fast-paced way of life.

This is the third book in Masters if Adrenaline series and I personally think this is the best book in the series so far.

We meet Detective Mila Palmer who is a male dominated world, Mila is constantly having to prove herself to her male colleagues that she is more than capable of making it this male dominated world and that she is just as good if not better than them. Mila's latest assignment is to bring down a car theft ring.

Mila knows that the family behind the ring are clever and smart. They have also opened up a laptop repair shop in order to cover themselves but what happens next shocks both Mila and the King of the car thieving empire. Mila takes her laptop into the gangs laptop repair shop and gets the shock of her life when she spots Atlas Larson working behind the counter.

Step forward Atlas Lawson. Atlas is a computer whizz and known as the King of stealing cars. Stealing cars is in Atlas's blood as all his family do it and it is the only life he has ever known. Atlas is also good at figuring people out and it doesn't take him long to clock on that the beautiful lady that just brought her laptop in to be repaired is a police officer. Atlas knows that Mila is lying to him but unbeknown to her Atlas is also a top dom in a BDSM club and he has spotted a new potential sub in the shape of Mila. The chemistry between Mila and Atlas is there from the minute that they clocked eyes on one another.

It isn't long before the chemistry between Atlas and Mila reaches tipping point and they give into the temptation of each other and wow Atlas gets Mila submitting before him. But what happens when they start develop feelings for one another will Mila be able to separate her feelings for Atlas and concentrate on the case she has been assigned to do or will she fall under the spell of Atlas?.

Either way one of them will have to give up their career will Atlas turn his back on a life of crime to be with the woman that he has fallen for or will Mila hand in her badge to be with the bad boy that she was assigned to bring down?.

This is a must read for all Sparrow Beckett fans

Adrenaline pushes the heat high…

This series, with sassy, bold characters and unusual situations to find love, has been a favourite of mine. With Atlas and Mila, that trend continued with the sexy notched up even higher…

When they say opposites attract, these lovers could write the book. Their attraction, the desire that burned between them, seemed simple. Oh, no. It was anything but given their career *ahem* choices. Love doesn’t care about the wrong or right side of the law. All it knows is the chemistry and the heat. And neither Atlas or Mila could ignore it…

Was it worth fighting for? Absolutely! And it was a fight. They were both going to dig deep for answers and watching it unfold was feeling like I was right beside them…

A fan-on-high read that had everything I wanted for Atlas’ story. If you haven’t read Sparrow Beckett I highly recommend you start! ~Diane, 4 stars

Good but rushed

I love this author. I love how they balance funny, sexy, and adventurous. But, this story felt rushed at times, especially at the reconciliation. One minute Mila is being selfish and stand-offish then they kiss and the chapter is over. The next xhapter starts at least 6 months later. What? It felt like the author looked at the word count and said "oh, well". It was still a good story with an interesting dynamic but a little disappointing when I've come to expect more from this author. Still worth the read.

This was one of those books where you don’t feel the need to push yourself to finish it, you actually want to finish it and you enjoy every second. I really loved this and I finished it in a little under 3 days. As someone else said in the reviews here, what a book! There’s not too much filler. Everything feels just right. Recommend recommend recommend. You won’t be pushing your limits to finish this book!

Kinky and sweet

I liked the end to this series. It wasn't my favourite of the three books, that honour belongs to the relationship between Luke and Ophelia in the second book. However, that being said, it was kinky and fun and brought the series to a satisfying conclusion with all of the sexy masters finding Miss Right for them. Another good series by Sparrow Beckett!

Fun but the couples in all three books are interchangeable for dialogue and sexual preferences. Only their background stories and hairdos make them different.

It was hot, I'll give you that.

What turned me off was the cop-criminal dynamic. Everytime it got to the forefront it put a damper on the scene for me, I didn't like moral dilemmas in my sex scene

Ok so i loved all the 5 previous books. I was so happy to get Atlas. However a couple of thing made it hard for me to really love this book . Some spoilers may follow. So I get the reason why he does anal but from one scene to the next it felt the same to me . Also Atlas seemed way to much like is brother and cousin in the bdsm way he has . Being younger I would expect him to be different somehow .The plot I could see coming 3 miles away and was missing the real deep down depth of these 2 . Still a good read just to finish the serie
