˃˃˃ WHAT HURTS THE MOST, BOOK 1:

You will never guess the ending!

Am I pretty?

Imagine being asked that question standing face to face with a killer. What would you answer?

While her life is going from bad to worse, journalist Mary Mills receives a phone call from her father telling her that her brother has been arrested for murder. Mary decides to go back to her hometown of Cocoa Beach, Florida, which she left twenty years back and has never visited since.

Working with her old friends from the 7th Street Crew, she tracks down the most disturbing and surprising killer this town has ever faced before a shocking conclusion turns everything upside down for them.

Determined to solve the murder and to have her brother acquitted, Mary is forced to face demons from her past she never thought she would have to again.

˃˃˃ YOU CAN RUN, BOOK 2:

It’s not the kind of thing you’d expect to happen on an ordinary Saturday morning.

Her kids are arguing, and her husband is still sleeping. Lisa is tired and wonders why her husband keeps working late. Is he having an affair? Is it the same girl as last time?

Lisa’s teenage daughter is acting up, and just as Lisa is about to walk up to her room and tell her who’s the boss around here, she feels the cold steel of a gun pressed against her cheek, while a hand covers her mouth.

Years later, it remains a mystery. Who killed Lisa’s family after holding them captive for twenty-four terrifying hours in their house?

Mary Mills is enjoying her new life in Cocoa Beach. She is back with her husband Joey and the rest of the 7th Street Crew that she grew up with. She is writing a blog and doing pretty well for herself when she realizes one of her best friends; Marcia is in serious trouble.

It is well known within the crew that Marcia likes to drink a lot, but things are getting worse. Marcia is deep in over her head, and she risks losing her children. Soon Mary realizes that maybe she doesn’t know her old friend as well as she thought.

It is said that a friend will help you if you’re knocked down, while a real friend says, “Stay down; I’ve got this.”

Will Mary be able to live up to this? Will she be able to help Marcia, to save her before it is too late? Does she want to after she digs deeper into Marcia’s story and finds out who she really is?

˃˃˃ YOU CAN'T HIDE, BOOK 3:

Young girls are being kidnapped, and so are their mothers. They are being bought and sold as slaves. Behind these kidnappings stands a ghostly person who calls himself the Boxer. He finds the girls and their mothers online, where he stalks and chats with the girls until he decides who to pick up and sell.

A new reign of terror has fallen on the unsuspecting residents of Cocoa Beach. They think their worst nightmare is the environmental catastrophe causing the thousands of dead fish in the river until the first body turns up among the dead fish.

Mary Mills’ personal life is in chaos. She is trying to balance being a divorced mother and dealing with the presence of her ex-husband’s new girlfriend in her, and especially her son’s, life.

7th street crew series: Book 1-3
By: Willow Rose
5 out of 5 stars

The book set 7th street crew series: Book 1-3 by Willow Rose was awesome to read. These stories are the first three that I have read by the author and they did not disappoint. They kept my interest from the very beginning of each story and I found myself not wanting to put them down until I had finished. There are plenty of twists and turns that I didn’t see coming and had me saying “Did that just happen?” I was on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next. I loved the characters as they are well-developed and I loved Mary Mills and the 7th street crew. There are continuing storylines that continue in the next book. These are also books that are about family and characters that stand up for each other even when things look bad for one of them. Some of the characters will give you chills and you know that they need to be stopped from carrying out the evil that they plan. I highly recommend this book set and I see that there is a fourth book in the series that I look forward to reading. This is an amazing author who knows how to weave a story that will keep you guessing and does a wonderful job creating unforgettable characters. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book. I was provided a copy of this book through Reading Deals and I voluntarily provided an honest review.

Willow Rose is a master at psychological suspense.
What Hurts The Most was an exceptional book with an explosive plot.
The revealing conclusion was such a shocker, not once, twice, but three times. Just when I thought the murders were solved, in came another stunning twist.
Fantastic book.

You Can Run, another great book in this series by Willow Rose. I am loving this series. What a nail-biter. I thought I had this one figured out, OH NO!!!! The twist just kept coming and as usual, she leaves us hanging & grabbing for the next book.

Young girls and women are being auctioned off to the highest bidder.
They come from other countries with the impression they will be models or somewhere in this kind of work. But this is not their destiny. Even young mothers and their daughters here in America’s streets are approached and taken.
Sex trafficking is the name of the game and it just keeps growing.
You Can’t Hide was a gripping book, one that had me cringing the entire time.
Willow Rose can certainly write horror suspense, like no other author I’ve read.

Decent reads

The author's use of back stories plugged inbetween current events bugged the heck out of me until the conclusion of book one. I knew what to expect in the next books so it was more palatable. Gotta say, glad Mary is no friend of mine. Horrible things happen to them all at some point. Yikes! I do have two questions I hope the author will answer. What happened to Long's four sisters? At the start of her story we find her whole family at her eighth birthday party including "five brothers and four sisters". They are not mentioned again. Then at the dock Long and Danh and her "five other brothers" are trying to get on boats. That would make six brothers. Seriously bad editing.
The series is ok. Quick reads with twists and turns. Some disturbing violence so these books are not for everyone.

Do not be put off when you open your Kindle and it says 27 hours of reading. Believe me, every hour is worth reading Willow Rose tells a story that keeps you hanging on waiting for the next page just to see what will happen. There are many stories within this one story so you don't want to miss even one of them. You will love this book and its characters. I loved it and I know you will also.

I read the first three books in the series. They were very tedious. There were WAY too many characters and too much back and forth from past to present. The lady book finished with the main character 's crazy brother had kidnapped her ten year old son. I am through with this series. Too much goes on in one book not to mention three books.

Not my cup of tea

Only could get to chapter 10 in book1 .very confusing switching too many characters too many time frames. Can't decide where it is going. Should be able to after that many characters. Glad it was a freebie from Amazon

I tried desperately to make it through this book but I only made it through the first two. It doesn’t grip you and definitely NOT a page turner. I have never made a bad review for a book but I simply can’t bring myself to finish it.

Just finished all three books and immediately bought (and within 24 hours finished reading) the fourth in the series. I just love this author. Best to read these books in order and you really need the fourth (Careful Little Eyes) to complete an important story that starts with the first book. In a nutshell, Mary Mills is a reporter who has lost her job and is now a blogger who lives in Cocoa Beach where she has reconnected with her high school crew. Various crimes occur that affect her friends and family and with the help of her crew, her blog, her own instincts and smarts she is able to solve the crimes. What I love, love, love about Willow Rose is she takes real-life situations and brings them to life with great characters, situations and dialogue -- Stalkers. Bullying among children. Kidnapping. Human trafficking. Schizophrenia (a topic I am unfortunately too familiar with from personal experience with a friend). Rocky relationships between spouses. Her books are what I would put in the category of "great beach read" and I grab them from BookBub every time they come up (great prices).

Good series

I knew I liked Willow Rose's Jack Ryder series so I wasn't surprised that the Mary Mills Mystery books 1-3 was very good also. It was a fast paced series that went where you didn't expect frequently. The close group of friends come together to help each other deal with mysteries and murders. I can see more stories coming from this group of friends and look forward to reading them.

Again, great books

I have read other books with other characters from the author...and again she doesn't disappoint. Her storyline reminds me of a funnel...separate parts at the top, then as the book progresses, the parts start mingling together...keeps you guessing. As the story continues and things start blending and coming together...at the end, things really go together quickly and soon it is in the bowl and you get it. Love her style and stories.

The ending has a real twist

I have completed the first book, Any Way It Hurts. It took a while to get going and the three threads were a little confusing at first. They gradually wove together as the story progressed. It became a real page turner. The end was a shock, I hadn't anticipated it at all and now I have to read the next book.

I can never get enough of her writing.....this one left us hanging, so I had to order the next book #4 in the Mary Mills series.
I also just got Book #13 of Emma Frost and her mysteries and will get into that one as soon as I finish "Careful Little Eyes", the fourth book in the Mary Mills series.

Love them both!!!!

Too many characters and too many subplots. The book is all over the place. A new chapter starts in a new time line and new characters. I started to make a spreadsheet to keep track and realized that it was ridiculous. Any book where I have to do that is not worth my time. DNF and will never read another.

An enjoyable reading experience.

I enjoyed this series and will more than likely finish it out. I do have to say that I find it hard to believe one person can count that much trouble.

Intriguing stories

These three serial killer stories are a continuation of one event to the next with the 7th Street crew in Cocos beach. It is thrilling and have you thinking of who done it. Well written work.

I freaking LOVED these books. Reminds me of the days when I first discovered VC Andrews and the "Flowers in the Attic" series. Could not put it down! The 7th street crew/Mary Mills series is so good and easy to read. I just began #4 and hoping there is a #5!
