Prison is no one's idea of a good time, and it's even worse for Dell. Confinement has her inner wolf snarling as she paces their cell, and there's no end in sight. Just as she reaches her breaking point, the pack liaison shows up with an offer she can’t refuse. Dell’s freedom in exchange for going to Faerie and recapturing the fae prince responsible for her current digs.
But this fool's errand won't be a solo mission. Isaac Cahill has lost Dell twice, and he’ll be damned if she slips through his fingers again. This time, he’s not letting her out of his sight. Even if it means earning more than a few love bites from his pissed off she-wolf.
What they discover on their perilous quest is that war is closer than anyone imagined. As trusted allies fall and dangerous new threats emerge, Dell discovers one defining truth. Isaac is hers, and she'll fight to the death for him. And, at the rate this war is coming, she might not have long to wait.
Hailey Edwards writes about questionable applications of otherwise perfectly good magic, the transformative power of love, the family you choose for yourself, and blowing stuff up. Not necessarily all at once. That could get messy.
Wolf at the Door was the continuation of Dell’s story from Promise the Moon. It’s a suspenseful and fast-paced urban fantasy adventure.
The Lorimar Pack is a spin-off from the Black Dog series and a continuation from the Gemini series. I would recommend reading the Gemini series, before picking up the Lorimar Pack or even better starting from the begging with the Black Dog.
Dell is in a little bit of a pickle. She did a no no and now she’s in jail. Thierry pops up and offers deal a chance to get out and fix the situation. The only way to do that is to take a trip to Faerie where hazards luck at every corner.
Faerie was full of adventure, twisted politics, powerful fan, and side games. Theirs danger around every corner and things are looking turbulent. The Faerie world is intense and we learn that war is not far off and might be closer then everyone expected.
The romance between Isaac and Dell is changing. I understand Dell’s heartache, but we finally learn the reason as to why Issac left in the first place and it made sense. They both needed to grow and now they are at a point where a relationship can start to bloom.
Wolf at the Door was another terrific addition. If you like Urban Fantasy I highly recommend picking up the Black Dog, Gemini, and Lorimar Pack series.

Oh, Dell. You're really in a pickle this time, aren't you? The maneuverings to get her into Faerie were wicked cool, though. So many strings to pull and Thierry is in the middle of it, doing her thing.
I'm going to pause here and let out a big, fluttery sigh for the romance between Isaac and Dell. I completely understood Dell's heartache, but Isaac's reason for leaving her in the first place also made sense. They both had some growing up to do and now they've reached a point where their heads are on a little straighter. The downside of this is that, while Dell did grow into herself, her deep-seated fears she'll fall apart like her mother make her very wary about trusting her heart to anyone. Isaac especially.
But Wargs are good at loyalty, so I have every confidence things will stick.
Okay. Faerie. Twisty politics. Powerful fae. Oh, and an army of bloodthirsty half-breeds with some long-standing hatred for full fae. There's danger on the horizon and things are looking rough. AWESOME.
When Dell gets a chance to get out of jail, she takes it, even if it means a trip to Faerie where danger lurks everywhere. Isaac comes along for the ride, and together they´ll try to save our world from the threat of fae. PNR action, suspense and fluff in a great combo, fast paced and I can´t wait for the final part!
I’m a fan of Hailey Edwards. And I really do like the world of the Gemini. But I’m just gonna say it. Isaac gets off way too easy here.
At the heart of me, the romance is always going to be my central focus and it’s really hard for me to forgive a hero who absolutely decimated the heart of his heroine. And from the first page of those first book, I was not feeling the love for Isaac. Maybe it’s just me. There are plenty of other reviewers out there who are super stoked for this couple, but I’m not in that headspace. Honestly, I was rooting for Enzo. Not because I thought there was some grand love connection there, but I really wanted Dell to have someone who loved her deeply and unreservedly. And yeah, Isaac claims that now, but it’s too little too late. And all this talk about how they both feel like they needed that time apart now? I call bullshit.
I’m trying not to let this color my entire review. There are good parts of the story. I enjoyed their trip to ferry and seeing rook again. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed him in the black dog series. Come to think of it, I had hoped he was going to be the love interest rather than Shawn. There is some fast paced action and, as always with this author, great world building.
I’m just not down with Isaac.
I will read the last book to finish the series, but I can only remind myself how much Hailey Edwards hit all my happy buttons with Linus in the Necromancer books. No one can hit it out of the park every time.
I don't think I liked this entry in the series quite as much as others. I get quite tired of a story written around characters making silly error after silly error. I know some things are necessary to drive a story forward, but come on .... we expect a certain level of intelligence from our heroines.
I couldn't wait for this book to end. It got way too Alice in Wonderlandish for me. There was also a lot of unnecessary drama that I think was used just to fill pages. It was annoying as heck. I skipped paragraphs to get through the nonsense.
I like the overall plot but there were just too many adventures and gobbledygook to wade through.
I'm done with this series. I will read her next book in the Potentate of Atlanta series but I've wasted too much time on this series.
This was the first book in the Gemini series that I listened to on audio and it's so funny to hear characters voices that don't sound anything like you imagined in your head. I was really happy for Dell with this book though.
(3.5 Stars) I’m am really enjoying the Gemini/Lorimar Pack and “Wolf at the Door “ is no exception. This review is difficult to write because on one hand I was enthralled by the adventures and myriad on interesting new characters but on the other I had a major problem with the excessive amount of declarations of love between Dell and Isaac (roughly 20% of the book). This definitely felt like filler and I resented it!!!!!!
So, our story begins with Dell in prison and attempting to assert her dominance at every turn. When her Memaw comes to visit it quickly becomes clear that an elaborate escape plan has been hatched in order to get her to correct the very thing that got her imprisoned in the first place, losing Prince Tiberius into the hands of his evil Aunt. The only catch is Dell, Isaac and Enzo will have to go to Faerie in order to get him back. Can anyone spell ‘panic?’
As the trio maneuver the Faerie realm they meet a bevy of interesting characters but they also fall right into the hands of the very enemies they need to avoid. In order to escape and get back to Butler Dell almost loses her life.
Once the trio return Dell undertakes the long road to healing. Isaac attempt to prove to her his undying devotion and love (Too much so). No sooner than she is on the brink of a healthy rebound she is sent out again to locate the Faerie King’s sister to enlist her help in fighting along side the pack in the upcoming war.
There is plenty of action, complicated situations and healthy doses of mistrust. Just when you think you know what is going on and who to trust, the rug is ripped right from under you. Of course this installment leads with a cliffhanger ending leading right to the brink of war. The battle will be epic and I for one cannot wait to read it!
I am still struggling with Isaac, but LOVE Dell in this series. They gave her so much more depth of character. This is the “roadtrip” book, where they pick up a few characters, throw them outside the supporting cast and have us learn all about a new place at the same time.
When last we left Dell, she was in trouble. They ended up throwing her in supernatural prison which, obviously, is not great for a pack animal. This happen quickly at the start, somehow everyone is convinced breaking her out of jail is a good thing, and that they should trust a fae king, and that we’re all good with Isaac being able to shift to cover for Dell, and … a million other probably bad decisions, but made sense at the time. This puts Dell and her love triangle/ex-love triangle together in faerie, trying to… gosh I kind of forget. Oh! It has something to do with them needing their teenage winged friend back to be the person they are rooting to become king? It gets really complicated in the machinations and motivations in this book.
The love story, if we can call it that, does make a lot of progress. By progress I mean that they say I love you which… do they even know each other well? Sure they’ve been in life threatening situations but it feels like a fated mates quick type of love. I guess I’m on board, but can we please stop hurting Dell? She cares so much about so many people and I think she gets the short end of the stick most times. I can see the character growth from her, and it was definitely a wild ride in this book, but book 3 can’t come quick enough.
Lorimar Pack, Book 2 Prison is no one's idea of a good time, and it's even worse for Dell. Confinement has her inner wolf snarling as she paces their cell, and there's no end in sight. Heather's Books This was not a bad book. I just find I am not as invested in Dell and Isaac as I was the other couples. So I am not as interested in reading there story. Also I think the ongoing story arc as pretty much been played out. I no longer care if faire invades earth (well maybe a little). However, there is only 1 book left in this series and I have read the other 2 series. So I will probably read the last one to finish it off. I do not know if I will go on to a new spinoff (if there is one) though.
Oh my, Thierry Thackeray arrested Dell Preston, beta of the Lorimar pack, for a mistake she made dealing with the fae, which is easy to do. Now Thierry helps break Dell out of prison to send her on a mission to Faerie to retrieve the prince she mistakenly returned there. She’ll have two partners to assist her, Isaac Cahill, the fae who has decided he’s not losing Dell again, and Enzo Garza, the witch who has been smitten with Dell for some time. Their trip to Faerie is a wild ride with lots of crazy, unpredictable characters, as you would expect from Faerie, and once completed, Dell and Isaac have another mission to complete before they’re done. Of course the fae prince is a pawn that his obsessed relative doesn’t want to give up, and war is coming to Earth through the rift between worlds sooner rather than later. I loved the way that Dell and Isaac have grown closer and are building more trust, and learning to work together as a team. I can’t wait to read the next book to find out what happens between Earth and Faerie and how it all turns out.
I have been reading these books by Hailey Edwards for several days. There are several series-Gemini, Black Dog, Lorimar Pack-and they are quite good. We have earth and Faerie and all type of creatures sprinkled throughout. Wargs, reminiscent of werewolves, and Mermaids, witches, sirens, monoliths and so many obscure species that will tickle your memory cuz you have heard of them at some point in your life.
They are well written and well edited. They move right along and there is always something happening in the story line. I suggest you study the reading order lest you get them wrong and then you would be confused. They are complete stories. You could actually stop reading at the end of each story and not suffer, but I trust that you will be compelled to read to the end...which I am about to do.
They are also available through Kindle Unlimited. They have been an entertaining change of pace and I am so glad I found them.
This book was action packed with so much adventure! Even though it was a continuation, there were basically 2 stories in one. What made it work is that the 1st story was never truly resolved.
I really enjoy how with each book we are peeling away Dell's layers and getting to really know her. She is one of my favorite characters that Hailey Edwards has written. As for Isaac, we are also learning more and more about him and he is slowly endearing himself to.me as well.
One of the best parts of these stories are the secondary characters. They are well developed and very endearing, especially Zed and Abram.
I can't wait to see what the next book has in store.
I really like Dell in this book. She’s less whiny about the stuff that her mate did to her in the previous books. Prison is not a good place for a wolf and then she’s offered a deal to go back to Fairy and find the prints that she sent back there. this time Isaac will be going with her and she also gets to take the witch. Apparently trouble follows them no matter where they go because Dell and her group get into a lot of trouble in fairy as well. Once they got back to earth, they had a pretty good adventure here also. I listen to this book on audible, and I really do like the narrator. She did a really good job. I will definitely read the next book in the series.
I've never read a series with more gaping plot holes
From the very first one with Thierry to this one. I like the story so I keep reading lol but the plot holes get me every time. They're not even subtle. And it's SO MANY. I didn't complain reviewing any other books because as I said I do enjoy the story, but this one I finally got annoyed. Plus she got super rambly and repetitive being cheesy like Isaac actually loves me but can I trust him?? Or Omg he really loves me my heart is so full!! I skipped so many pages honestly because she would just GO ON AND ON about that. Like please we heard you love Isaac get to the plot thanks.
This series is just amazing between the characters being flawed in normal everyday ways so they are more likeable and realistic so when they rise to the challenges and have to do so as a group and have realistic injuries as well (always bugs me when nobody gets hurt regardless of situation and it being fantasy) also the much better understanding of different types of fey and storyline that holds you the entire time from the beginning and begs for more everytime a story ends is why this is a series I have reread 4 times now. I can't wait for more!!
All I can say is OMG!! Another good book to this series... even if I don't like them ending with a cliffhanger lol. I am super excited to see Isaac coming into his own and showing Dell that he does love her and is her mate. It was good to see the prince being slightly helpful, and that Beä is starting to work with Dell and not trying to completely kill her now. I can't wait to start the next book and find out how it all comes together!!!
I read the whole series (Black Dog, Gemini, then Lorimar Pack, in that order) back-to-back. They are all very good, and free on Kindle Unlimited. Each of the trilogies is a separate paranormal romance, all set in the same universe with relationships among the characters tying them all together in various ways. Towards the end of Lorimar (this book), the story took a few shortcuts to get to the end, but I don't mind. I still enjoyed the world building and characters. Lorimar Pack is Dell's and Issac's story.
I have enjoyed everything by Hailey Edwards that i have read so far. The Lorimar pack series in no different. I am enjoying the growth and development of Dell and Isaac's relationship. The intricacies of the story plot are satisfyingly intense. I am so curious to learn more about Room. He is such an interestingly flawed character. I'm looking forward to diving into the next book in this series.
I have been consuming this series like a little kid unwrapping presents. Dell is faced with the consequences of her actions while trying to hold the fort down for her alphas [Cord and Cammie] of the Lorimar pack. She gets presented with an escape plan with strings attached. Dell has two people for backup Enzo, the witch and Isaac, the Gemini fae, favorite cousin to Cammie. The action and story just sucked me right into it, before I knew it I had finished the book and was hungrily reading the next book in the series.
There is something about this series that isn't doing it for me like Edwards' other ones. I like Dell but she really doesn't seem like a standout like Cam or Thierry. Again, this isn't having anything to do with Edwards' writing (I have 27 highlights), I think it's just a "me" as a reader thing.
My only real complaint about this book was this it seemed like two books that were smooshed into one.
Another great Black Dog Universe book. Dell has a heck of an adventure in this one trying to make up for her mistakes in the last book. And though the journey wasn't easy and war seems to be inevitable with Isaac by her side life seems to be falling into place and anything seems possible. I can't wait to see how things end and I definitely recommend Wolf at the Door.
This book was amazing and I really enjoyed listening to it on Audible. The characters were entertaining with humour and I loved the speed of their development throughout the story! I especially related to Del more than I thought I would! It’s very rare to read a story where the female is dependent and can take care of herself! And the men are there to protect her, not because she needed protection but because it was better to go as a group on a mission than to go alone! I really enjoyed that!
The story hits the ground running and keeps a steady, ground eating pace until the end. I read the entire book in one sitting and didn't even realize I was hungry because I was so engrossed in the tale. Glad to see some healing for Isaac and Dell. Can't wait for the next book!!!! Great author and great world!
I love how the challenges were exciting. And didn’t have happy endings. It was challenging and had me at the edge of my seat. There are so many moves that we haven’t seen played yet that it makes it exciting to know what is going to happen. Rook is sneaky, and Thierry has a plot of her own! Love it
Dell is on way over her head but working on fixing her mistakes while learning more about the fae world and the politics therein. The ending felt off because it seemed too soon to end where it did but overall a good book and I look forward to reading the next one!
This was awesome! Isaac and Dell get together. A warg, a Gemini and a witch go to Faerie. Rook is causing trouble again. There is a lying puca and a gossiping rock and a jealous tree. Some teen love, a crazy Thunderbird and am insulted snow flurry. I adore these books! So many little details that are just cool!!
Another great adventure with the wolves, witches and dryads. With nothing at home but improvement imprisonment Dell and Isaac (and Enzo too) set off to find the prince. Will it make a difference or is war on the horizon still?
Excellently written with characters you grow to call your own pack. Book two of this series does not disappoint in any way.
