Take one smoking-hot top chef who thinks food should be a sensual adventure, add a venture capitalist who has struggled with her weight since she was a teenager, and mix well. Is this a recipe that sizzles, or is he just another craving she must resist?

* * *

Deanna Sloan has worked too hard, dieting herself from a chubby teenager to a sleek businesswoman, to give in to her hunger now. Enduring four years as the target of her high school classmates’ cruelty taught her that only three things matter—power, money, and looks.

Leaving her small town behind, shedding the excess pounds, and obtaining a job with a six-figure salary are all steps in the right direction. However, in order to keep on target, she needs to outshine the other twenty venture capitalist associates at her new firm, maintain her weight loss, and be prepared to double-cross anyone who gets in her way. Walk in the park, right?

Wrong! Her first assignment is an investment appraisal of one of Chicago’s top chefs. Nico Thorne has come to her firm for the seed money to open his own restaurant. He is smoking hot and just a glimpse of his navy blue eyes in a photo clouds Deanna’s brain and dampens her panties. Will the flesh-and-blood man make her dissolve into a puddle of mindless lust that will derail her fast track to success?

Like Deanna, Nico’s past drives his present choices. He hates his father for using his mother’s social status to further his career, then abandoning her. As a teenager, Nico’s anger at his father resulted in a hair-trigger temper and a vow never to fall in love. Although Nico may have learned to control his demons, he still avoids women who even hint at wanting anything deeper than a few nights of uncommitted fun.

That is until he sees Deanna. Her cinnamon curls and soft green eyes totally captivate him. As they spend more and more time together, Nico’s determination to keep their relationship casual dissolves and he realizes that she might be his amore mio. But will he be able to convince Deanna that he’s the one for her?

Deanna fights her attraction to Nico, fearful that giving in will mean the loss of both her figure and her job. Can Nico overcome a lifetime of distrust? Can Deanna embrace life—imperfections and all?

Publisher’s warning: This book contains sensual consummated love scenes.

Sinfully Delicious is the first book I read by Denise Swanson and I loved it. It is the story of of Deanna Sloan, venture capitalist and Nico Thorne, chef. Nico has approached Randolph's Ventures to invest in his new restaurant. Randolph assigns, Deanna with the task of determining if Nico Thorne and his restaurant are a wise investment. Deanna dines at the restaurant where Nico currently works, and sparks fly. Nico knows that Deanna works for Randolph's Ventures, but does not let on. He plans to wine and dine her to get his money, not counting on the chance of falling in love. After all he did not get the nickname Kitchen Casanova for nothing. Randolph tells Deanna to get as much information from Nico for his new restaurant, under the guise of helping him to decide whether or not to invest. Sparks and chemistry continue to ignite between the two of them. Each have ghosts from their past that have caused them to build up walls, can either one of them break down the walls. I loved the chemistry between them and the supporting characters. A brilliant surprise plot twist, changes everything. Loved the bittersweet moments in the book. Love how the story was resolved. Great book! Cannot wait to read Dangerously Delicious!

This is a great storyline. The characters were well developed and very realistic. I liked the flow of the writing and enjoyed reading about characters involved with cooking and venture capitalism. Keep them coming!

An enjoyable story from the perspective of the two characters. Filled with good food and a HEA, what's not to like.

This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

My biggest issue was that basically the entire plot is she hates her body- kind of frustratingly repetitive.

This book is about Deanna (loved that name!) and Nico. They meet because of the job of her (Venture Capitalist) because Nico needs the money for his own restaurant, and Deanna was sent to see if was a really good inversion by her boss (which I hate a lot). So she go to the restaurant he works and watch him and their usual costumers, but the thing is how Deanna wasnt eating much of his food, he was curious of why and he gets out of the kitchen and introduce himself. Then, passed some situations between them that gets them going out for there own thoughs and reasons.

This book is incredible romantic and in the same time, sexy and also learns us that sometimes is good have a good meal without count every single calory eaten and that the low calories food is not bad, but that can be orgasmic.

ABout Deanna, I can say that she have a very good control... I almost admire her, because I do the same (for my own reasons) and I know how hard can be sometimes when you have you favorite dessert.

About Nico, I need to say it, its persistent and persuasive and well, I will loved marry him

About her boss, I hated him like the rays of billions suns.

About his brother, that I like his attitude. :3

Deanna works for a Venture Capitalist. She grew up the chubby kid, bullied by her peers. When she got to college, she dieted herself down 70 pounds to fit the mold she thought she should be.

Nico is a very talented, very hot chef, looking for additional money to get his own restaurant up and running. He also has baggage. He doesn’t trust people, doesn’t let them get close.

Deanna is given the job of going to the restaurant Nico currently works at to taste his food, get a sense of his management abilities, and gather any info she can on him. When she only takes a couple of bites of the multi-course meal sent to her, he goes out to see what the problem is. He is intrigued by her, but manages to offend her and walk away. Once she leaves, he can’t get her out of his mind.

This is a sweet romance of two people learning to trust each other. Both are harboring secrets. They slowly begin to heal each other. Some steamy sex scenes, a little angst. Overall a sweet, fun, quick, easy read. This is my first book by this author. I would definitely read more of her books and look forward to the next in this series.

I received and voluntarily reviewed a copy given to me by NetGalley and the publisher.

I did like this book. My favorite books are those that explore the minds of both characters. I always feel a deeper connection when I know the other person is feeling the same. That being the said, I felt no connection to the relationship. It took me back to reading Fifty Shades of Grey. It was all about passion. I felt the story to be very predictable. I wish the story had more dimension. It may be that I just read a book very similar to this. I also didn't enjoy the way the author made everything sexual. The word moan was used often. I gave the book 3/5 stars. The author won me over by giving readers a glance into what the couple would be like after the story. Those are the best moments in a book. I always have a soft spot for happily ever afters. -Meri

I am familiar with some of the author's other books that have a mystery to them. This is more about romance and, yes sex which is quite different from the works I am familiar with! Still a good fun read by a good author.
