Despite things known and heard elsewhere, the source of them is always the better choice. For example, I don't get how all the copycats forgot to mention those revolutionary formulas:

Talent x effort = skill
Skill x effort = achievement

It has similarities with Mindset: The New Psychology of Success, the book I have also liked for the important discoveries.

At first though to rate it 4 out pf 5 as many of look-alike books don't mention two important things - 1) initial system inputs are more important than future investments (effort), and, - 2) luck, but then I heard it: "there is worrisome correlation between grit and family's income score.", so the author definitely knows what she's talking about.

Just a few things of many why it's one of the best books I have read.

On the other hand, not exactly this book related, but here we go: Why grit is bad for children and bad for democracy
