"What an Exciting Wolf shifter Romance"
Sarah Makela always writes such Stunning & Exciting shifter Romance's!. Her shifter men are just yummy!.
Charlotte is a human who is in love with a werewolf. Joe had been attacked and bitten but he loves Charlotte. They have not told her father yet that they are betrothed. Joe had sneaked into Charlotte's room one evening. When her maid almost catches them he sneaks back out. Only to be captured by some rough men and kidnapped!. Charlotte goes to the sheriff but sense Joe is a werewolf the sheriff won't help!.
Charlotte takes it on her own to find Joe!. Joe was taken to a mining camp to be forced to work the mine there with other captured werewolves!. Can Charlotte find him, and if so how will she rescue him?.

Charlotte watches as her betrothed is knocked unconscious and then thrown into a prison wagon. When the local law, and her father refuse to help her find out why Joe was taken, she decides that she will investigate herself. After months of detective work she finally finds out where Joe is being held. She is taken captive by guards of the compound. The man in charge is determined to keep his activities a secret, and he throws Charlotte to the wolves. One of the wolves is Joe, even though he manages to keep Charlotte alive, she will be changes in another way. Fascinating characters determined to have a life together and will do anything to have their happily ever after. A sexy and suspenseful read, I loved it!

A great short read set in the wild west. This time though it isn't a female that needs rescuing, it is her promised one, a wearwolf. Charlotte is not one woman to be stuck siting at home relying on others to save her man, she is going out to do it herself regardless the cost. This was a great read with very real characters written into a setting that was very lifelike. I was glad for once to see a woman take charge of the situation. This was a well written story and I have enjoyed most of what this author writes.

This was an engaging 'historical' paranormal romance where people can be bitten and infected with the werewolf change. Joe is someone that experienced this but Charlotte doesn't care - she loves him no matter what. When she sees him getting kidnapped, she's quick to ask for help. Sadly, no one is willing to help a werewolf so she sets off to find him herself.... This was really fun seeing a guy needing the rescue and our gal willing to do whatever it takes to free her man. With hot chemistry, action and danger, this was a wild journey to a wonderful HEA. Good fun!

Charlotte is brave and fearless in the face of her betrothed being taken from her. Joe is the love of her life and she will not stop until she gets him back. Joe longs to be with Charlotte again, but when he is, it is not what he had imagined. Will either of them survive?
I really enjoyed reading this story. Charlotte is such a strong female character. I received an A ARC of this book and am leaving my honest opinion.

Charlotte loves Joe but when she sees him get kidnapped and no-one helps to find him she tracks him to a silver mining camp using enslaved werewolves for labour. This is a short read that definitely kept my attention over a cuppa, loved the characters.

It was absolutely captivating. Makela totally rocked my world with Captive Moonlight! Leave it to Sarah Makela to always give her readers something new and different but still exciting and sexy. I think that's one of the things I love most about Makela's work...the incredibly imaginative worlds and unique, fascinating characters. And Captive Moonlight is no exception! I found the story to be exciting, intriguing, unusual, inventive and creative. Captive Moonlight is a fast-paced, well-crafted, well-edited standalone paranormal western with a beautifully written third person his and her perspective and filled to the brim with heart-pounding danger, delicious drama, exhilarating action, edge-of-your-seat suspense, agonizing angst, sweet romance, fiery passion, and steamy, dreamy sex. The dialogue is smart, well executed and flows effortlessly. But, hands down, my favorite element of all Makela's stories is her captivating and engaging cast of characters. I was quickly drawn into this story by our two protagonists, Charlotte, a beautiful human gentlewoman of the western frontier, and Joe, a handsome human turned werewolf cowboy. I fell in love with Charlotte's bravery, loyalty, fiery indomitable spirit, and complete dedication to her fiance Joe. And I was instantly smitten with Joe, who despite his circumstances, refused to be broken and never gave up hope of being reunited with his true love, Charlotte. These two characters embody all the characteristics that make a truly unforgettable love as well as an unbreakable bond. Their attraction was electric, their interaction was mesmerizing, their love undeniable, their loyalty to each other unquestionable, and their passion was smokin' hot! These two characters were completely unforgettable and completely stole my heart. Just so dreamy! Did I like this book? No, I LOVED it! Would I recommend it? You bet and I am but only for adult readers since it does contain some steamy sex scenes. WOW! this book was good!!! Loved the characters! Especially Charlotte is fearless, talk about awesome. I loved Joe's character he is perfect for Charlotte, they fit together really well and just made the story that much more enjoyable. Loved the action and the romance, well done. 5 stars! I like old-fashioned westerns and I really enjoy reading paranormal romance especially those by Sarah Makela. She is a particularly great, very talented writer, and this is a rip-roarin' westerns that is fantastic. But be aware this is a quick fascinating read. I have read a number of her books and I have never been more happy or enjoyed a "paranormal romance" captivating series, and but I must say in this there's often more sexy scene and than romance. Many of Sarah Makela books are not set in the "old west" of the past but in "modern" times, when she writes them they are often depict a rugged male abiding by a highly developed sense of fair-play and moral integrity (in contrast to the sneaky "villain" who did not), a curvy female heroine, misunderstanding, romance, and overall sexyness leading to a happy ending. This storyline in this book though it may be set as a western, but it's not what we would normally call "westerns," but I guess it's a paranormal romance thats set in a western storyline. I enjoyed reading Sarah first foray into paranormal romance westerns. No matter what she writes paranormal, romance about wolves, vampires, western stories, Sarah knows how to tell a good story, and her vivid descriptions are second to none.
INCREDIBLE-fantastic start to a I hope a new series. Exhilarating and action packed. The cast of characters is animated and certainly praise-worthy. Joe is a most valiant hero and adapts well to his new life as his devotion for Charlotte grows. Charlotte is fearless and a force to reckoned with. I relished this story from start to finish a most gratifying read. I also eagerly await the next book in if there will be one in the future. If you dote on shifter romance this is an excellent choice for your library. I am voluntarily reviewing a book gifted to me by the author with no obligation. Without reservations I highly recommend this book.

OMG I don't think i could adore this book any more, it was an amazing read!!! This is a novella that is a stand alone story. Although this is a novella it doesn't feel that way, it feels a lot longer than it actually is. The attention to detail and the descriptions of the world this book is set in, the plot line and the characters is brilliant and so detailed making this book feel extremely realistic to the reader.
The thing i loved most about this tale is Charlotte! Right from the beginning you can see how much of a strong and capable woman she is, she doesn't need a man riding in to save her, she can do it herself and i loved that! She is confident in herself and what she can do and she seems to have no fear when it comes to the people she loves and people being mistreated. Joe always seems like the perfect gentleman, or should i say he always tries to, his love for Charlotte is all consuming, she is his world. He just comes across as very easy going that is until you hurt someone he then then he will fight for them, even at hos own life.
The storyline to this book is written so so well with much love and this comes through in the writing. It is definitely written in a way that pulls the writer in, makes you want to read more abd more of this , i couldnt stop turning the pages to find out what was going to happen in this exciting story of true love in the supernatural world, i am so glad that i voluntarily read thid book, it is truly amazing!!!

He just comes across as very easy going that is until you hurt someone he then then he will fight for them, even at hos own life.
The storyline to this book is written so so well with much love and this comes through in the writing. It is definitely written in a way that pulls the writer in, makes you want to read more abd more of this , i couldnt stop turning the pages to find out what was going to happen in this exciting story of true love in the supernatural world, i am so glad that i voluntarily read thid book, it is truly amazing!!!

I loved this new Old West style shifter series.
Charlotte is in love and betrothed to Joe a human turned werewolf after an attack by wolves. Although there are predjudices all over town against werewolves, Charlotte doesn't care. When Joe is abducted by unknown men, Charlotte will go to any lengths to find her love, even go against her father and go out on her own to find him.
Joe is abducted and put to work in the mine fields with others like him. He knew there was predjudice against shifters and even wolves that weren't stable, but he never imagined the lengths one man would go to in order to make money. All he can think of is his sweet Charlotte and the suffering she must be going through thinking that he just up and left her.
Who is this Carver that abducts werewolves to work the mines, what is his end game and why does he hate them so? Could it be that his hatred stems from hidden secrets?
There is suspense and a bit of mystery surrounding this story.

A marriage between the wild west and the paranormal, Sarah has hitten this one right out of the ballpark! The proof that a woman will go to any lengths to rescue the man she loves is definitely front and centre when Charlotte witnesses her betrothed being beaten and taken away in the middle of the night. When no-one helps her to try and find Joe and tell her she's better off finding "someone nice and normal", she leaves the comfort of her home and begins her long search for the man she loves. When Joe finds himself with a gang of captive warewolves destined to work in a silver mine, he's sure he will never again see the only woman he will ever love. But, love has a way of winning, or at least he hopes it does.
A wonderful story of love that will warm your heart in no time.

Watching him get attacked, she vows to do whatever it takes to get him back even if she has to do it alone. Although Joe has tried many times to slip away from his capturers, but the collar he wears forces him to stay in his human form, halting any shifting or escape. But can Charlotte stay alive long enough to have their happy ever after.
This was a very enjoyable read, with a interesting and intriguing storyline and fascinating characters. This is a fast paced read but flowed smoothly. A entertaining read!

Charlotte was engaged to Joe who happened to be a werewolf. One night he was captured by a group of men that wanted him as laborer in a mine. He was collared like the other werewolves were and they couldn't shift with those collars on. He tried to escape several times but they always caught him. Charlotte had seen him get attacked and taken away and she vowed to herself that she would get him back. I loved this book! Great characters so easy to connect too. Charlotte was a human in love with Joe a werewolf when one night he is taken. She trys to get him help but NO one will help her. So she will do it herself!
As time goes by she goes from a sweet young woman to a strong willed and amazing women, who will stop at nothing to get him back!
This was a great read the mystery and intrigue added to the twists and turns in this great story. I love how much Charlotte went though to overcome. Shifters and western fans this one is for you

A little twist on the Old West, werewolves are persecuted against but that does not stop wealthy Charlotte from loving Joe. When he is kidnapped and no one cares enough to find him she takes it on herself to rescue him. However, when she tracks him to a mining camp using enslaved werewolves for labor she may be the one needing rescue. Good thing Joe has the teeth and claws to protect his woman! Fun short read, the werewolf angle definitely spiced up the setting, kept it interesting and I loved the character interactions!

Charlotte watched as her Joe was taken in back of a jail wagon. Now she is determined to find him and rescue him from what ever danger he's in. No one seems to care that he's been taken and she is on her own to find out what is happening to all the werewolves. Joe is brought to the Carver's Mining Camp and they put heim in a collar and making him work. He's has no way to escape and worries he will never see Charlotte again. Until one day everything hangers and someone is watching them no sure if their there to help rescue them or help their jailers?

But as Charlotte watches him leaving he’s attacked and captured by some bad guys. No one including the sheriff wants to do anything because he’s a werewolf. So she goes looking herself and gets more than she can handle. Well written and very entertaining to read this self-contained story.

Charolett was a young woman who knew what she wanted even if Joe the man she loved has a secret that could ruin their relationship. When she sees him being kidnapped she does everything to get him back even putting herself in harms way. Short romance suspense, disturbing story line, good string characters. I have to say while I didn't hate this fast paced story I really didn't care for it either. It was just okay!!! I really don't like leaving bad review but this story just didn't do it for me maybe the next book will be better. I voluntarily read and review this ARC I haven't been compensated in any way.

Seemed nobody wanted a were wolf even if it was turned against his will but when Joe Taylor was held captive Charlotte, was to risk her life to get him back. Interesting, entertaining and easy to read story with a decided and strong heroine, suspense, hot sex and a terrific fight that kept me fearing for the worst. Enjoyed the plot development and the HEA.

I enjoyed this story of a woman determined to save her fiance. He is a wolf shifter and taken by others as slave labor. She won't give up even when others won't help her. It is a nice romance with characters that you really like and want to be happy. I am never disappointed by this author and recommend you check out her other books too.

Action packed, hot romance, and a refreshing New story line that I was drawn to in a good way. I would have loved a little more detail, making the climatic moments more enthralling, but the story was amazing as it was. Werewolves being held and enslaved opened up the possibilities. Can't wait for more.

INTERESTING
A twist on the paranormal werewolf genre. This is an unusual story set in the American Wild West during the late 1800's. Joe, a werewolf and Charlotte, his betrothed go through so many trials and tests but they do get their HEA. An excellent short novella.
