This romance novel contains no explicit scenes and very mild language. Suitable for ages 16+ and Christians.
Carolee is a passionate writer whose life revolves around creating a world she can revert to when life gets in the way.
She always knew she would be a writer. Her teachers and the school librarian noticed her knack for story telling from an early age. With their encouragement, she continued to allow her imagination to come to life.
She spent most of her adult life dreaming of writing her own novels while working a 9 to 5 job. With determination, she quit her job and now concentrates on writing full time.
Writing is her passion and without it she feels incomplete. Carolee writes from her heart, from her soul.
In addition to writing, there are absolutely four things she cannot live without; chocolate, good ice-cream, cheesecake, and coffee.
Maggie is working as a waitress when she catches the attention of billionaire Chase. He sees something intriguing in her and arranges to meet her. Very quickly they fall in love/lust and in bed, but then are separated by circumstances. I've read other books by this author and I really liked the way she wrote Maggie. Maggie is smart and hard-working though I was a bit confused by the instant attraction to Chase. I would have like the relationship to develop a little more before they have sex. It wasn't addressed, but I found it confusing that apparently neither Maggie or Chase felt they needed to use protection though I understand that the results of that led to a plot point, Maggie's pregnancy. I didn't care for Chase much at all. He's kind of a spoiled brat, but is supposed to be running a mega company at the same time. He's CEO, but his father has all the say, even who he's supposed to marry. There were some plot holes too; it's not reasonable to expect that Chase couldn't hire some good PIs who would find Maggie before six months went by. After all, she was working, paying rent, etc so all those records are available online or in other data bases. By waiting so long, it was hard to believe that Chase was so in love with her that he'd defy his father. Even after he found her, he basically blew her off most of the time. Still, it's an interesting interracial romance that made me curious as to Chase's father will do next.
This book was like a warm blanket and glass of wine when you don't feel like going out on a Friday night. The storyline is a familiar one to the romance genre but it has its differences, and those are mostly in the Samuda's ability to make a quiet statement regarding racism while writing a sensitive, loving story. There are deeply racist issues that are handled delicately and with forethought while upholding a woman's ability to do as she wishes with her life regardless of those who would control her. I enjoyed the story; both its subtle stance and its lighter love.
This story starts off in such a wonderful way that you become invested from its beginning. This was a story of two people from different worlds who meet and fall in love. The writer does a really good job of getting you to like these two people, and you want to cheer that they make it.Along the way ,you meet a supporting cast that is as equally as good. This was all around a solid story, that ends as if more needs to be said. There is a next installment and you would want to read it as well because there are characters you know are not done.
I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This was the first time I have read a book from C. D. SAMUDA. I love anything romance and the story of Chase and Maggie delivered over and beyond my expectations. Love truly conquers all. There were a lot of twists and turns, enough to keep me entertained the whole time. A must read!
They meet but they are so different from each other. She goes to college to make a better life for herself. He wants to make as much money as he can and their life is about to get complicated. What will be so when he finds out she is having his baby. How will their lives go? Follow them to see
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Maggie and Chase are about as opposite as any two people can be, but you know what they say about how opposites attract. C.D. Samuda does herself proud with this work. Her characters are well developed over the course of the book, although I do wish Maggie had a bit more spunk. The author addresses the issue of racism head on, but with a gentle and forgiving spirit, and she populated their world with fun, likeable supporting characters..
This book was made available to me for free for review purposes. His Sacrifice for Love is a bittersweet romance that I enjoyed very much, despite the predictability of the storyline and some editing issues. Though it ended in a “to be continued” fashion, it is satisfying as a standalone story. (Thankfully, the author didn’t leave us on a cliffhanger!)
Damn loved this book I just wished Maggie had more of a backbone. Herman I wanted to fucc him up lol, this book had everything that makes a book good in it , Thank you C.D Samuda please DONT make wait a lifetime for the next book
I really enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to reading book 2, Chase father is such a prick...can't stand him. I love Maggie and Chase and their friends, nice read I recommend it.
Like watching paint dry. The storyline and the characters were boring . Hated Maggie, she was weak and illogical . Can't even remember the male characters name. It was just dry I didn't even finished reading.
