Just your average book about toys on an adventure, 2 stars because I know mum would be disappointed if I brought this out for her to read to me one day
There are 10 animals that want to get in their cardboard rocket and take off. But not all of them fit, or are fit to be an astronaut. After trying different animals they eliminate the ones that aren't fit for the job. The text says things like "Now theres only 6 left." At the end the little bunny is chosen as the astronaut. The group counts down from 10 to 1. This is a great book to use for teaching subtracting and counting down for numbers 1-10.
The toys have found a spaceship and they are trying to decide who should go to space in it. As they explore the skills required to be a good space traveller each toy is eliminated until Rocco the Bunny is the lucky last candidate. A great story for learning about decision making and also counting.
