I had a dilemma when it came to reviewing this box set . . . should I review each novella in turn or comment on them as a whole? As you'll have now discovered, in the end I decided to do the one review. Each novella in the set is like a jigsaw piece, an intricate piece which slots in seamlessly to add detail and help create the whole picture. This is definitely a set where I believe it is important to read the stories in order. They each tell their own story of a Scottish Werebear and their mate, how they meet, what goes wrong, how things are resolved to put it simply (though they're all much more interesting and dynamic than that bland explanation). Each of these romances reveals further details about the on-going conflict between the isolationists who seek to keep each species 'pure' and those who have a more tolerant attitude towards anyone who finds their mate isn't another werebear. This dilemma is the thread running and developing throughout the novellas, with many characters having key roles in most books.

It is great getting to know the characters over a longer time period than their single novella, making them more developed and adding intrigue to the whole set. Should each species strive for isolation from humans and other weres? Is secrecy really the best option? What might revealing their existence mean to weres and humans? Does love really happen across species? So many questions, so many beliefs and historical anecdotes to influence them. To discover how things work out, you'll just have to read it yourself!

There are an additional three Christmas novellas in the box set as characters mentioned or met in the first three novellas go to theMcMillan farm for the festive season. These are each delightful festive reads and add further to the storyline as the werebears, humans and a lone werewolf celebrate together, bringing further insights into the family dynamics and resolving some of the issues which arose in the first three novellas.

You've just got to love these strong, caring and independent loner alphas who change their attitudes completely when meeting their mates. The whole box set is a pleasure to escape into and I have no hesitation in highly recommending it to anyone who enjoys paranormal romance with political intrigue adding extra spice to the events and characters.

Many thanks to the author and IndieSage PR for gifting me an ARC of this box set in exchange for my honest review.

I have reviewed each story separately. Overall a good entertaining series , nothing too deep or angsty. There were lots of plot holes plus some interactions that were very unbelievable but I enjoyed the audiobook.
Also the audiobook had some technical problems in editing. It seemed that when that narrator had paused and started again, he'd read the last sentence again and in the editing they had forgotten to delete one. So he would repeat the same sentence or word twice. I think this happened at least 10-12 times.
My favorite one was #4 and my least favorite was #5.

Scottish Werebears: An Unexpected Affair
This was a short story that sets up the rest of the series. The author bring a very interesting plot which goes back many years from the day Derek parents were killed could it have been an accident as they believed or could it have been more. The store moves around Derek and Clarice meeting with a strong pull from the start. There is a little misunderstanding or maybe confusion that the two will have to overcome before even thinking about a relationship plus she must find out what he truly is, understand it and expect it. There is danger near which will come to play in the future books in this series. It was an interesting plot that held your attention with a little mystery.

Scottish Werebears: A Dangerous Business
This was a cute read with danger, a little mystery, love story that is a little different but blends very well. The characters were interesting with cross breeding and how they deal with it. We learn more about Aidan and what happened to his parents. Here is where The Sons of Domnall, come into the story they are a secret society of humans sworn to destroy all shapeshifters.

Heidi is a very sweet wonderful character that won’t back down from a fight. When she and Aidan first me sparks fly. The pull is strong but neither is willing to give an inch. Both are very surprised to find they are not the same kind of shifter. This is a nice romance but pretty clean and very sexy. I enjoyed it.

We meet Jamie he is the star in the next book. We learn a little about him with is a great starting to the next book in the series. It is a short sweet read the author does a wonderful job of keeping your attention with a very good story line. The ending was good and leads right into the next book in this series.

Scottish Werebears: A Forbidden Love
This part of the series fills in a few blanks from Jamie past with a lead to his long lost family member. Things come to a head with The Sons of Domnall and Alliance as they go head to head bring back one of their own. Way more is lost then lives leave family torn in to. Alison is about to get some home truths that won’t settle to well with a few and leaves her life up in the air pulled in to different direction she is going to have to make some very tough decisions. In this book you find out what Jamie is hiding from his fellow Alliance’s. He has had some trying times which leave him with many sleepless nights. He Knows Alison is hiding something as well as who she really is but it seem he is hiding something as well.

I enjoyed getting to know past characters better and seeing how things were going for them. Alison and Jamie’s story is very touching and at the same time heartbreaking. I am looking forward to the next book in this series to find out just how Mattie turned out. Even though so much as been gained so much has been lost. So many people pulling on wives tales no one knowing just what the truth is makes you wonder just what The Sons of Domnall is basing their information on.

This was another very fast listen with some great story lines and plot. The characters you can relate to with a believable story line. There is a little mystery and a little action as the two groups go head to head more than once making you hold your breath wondering who will end up on top if any of them will. The ending is very touching but at the same time very heartbreaking.

A New Beginning
This story shoots pains right through the heart starting off with the child that came up missing so long ago how it happened and his feelings on that day. The fear along with his broken heart of how he was taken and what he was told really brings home what each child must go through when kidnapped. I can’t even imagine what it would be like to know you turn into something and not know why. Matt’s story is one of the saddest I have ever heard there is a bright side such as it is which still doesn’t take away from what and how it happen. It might start out on a sad note but does get brighter as Matt’s brother brings him home which still leaves Matt feeling lost and alone. This is the story of Matt learning what he is, how to deal with it and the women he loves. Not everything is as it seems there is much danger as one man fights for control taking over many lives for the good of the cause or so he said. We learn those we trust can’t be trusted and those we don’t trust me might want to.

A Painful Dilemma
In this addition to the series Henry follows his heart in one area but not another. He believes with his body and soul that Alliance is the best thing that has happened in his world. He became an agent to help his fellow sifters only to find they are now turning on themselves all because one man wants control. He starts looking into issues when he is asked to spy on his fellow bears only to find things he doesn’t like. He finds a kindling spirit in Gail along with wants and needs he doesn’t understand. He has a mate but what he feels for Gail is stronger. Leaving him wondering what in the world is going on in his head.

Gail takes one look at Henry and said MATE but Henry is taken. They agree to work together for the cause and keep their feeling in check. Gail has troubles of her own with her job and disrespectful agents. She fights her own battles, is a strong women but very caring.

As these two put the feeling on the back burner they find the leader might not be all that he said he is. He wants to do things that in the long run will hurt those under him and might bring the whole shifter race to death. This is short, sweet filled with a little action and lots of emotion. You wonder what will happen to all the shifters as well as Henry’s mate as she turns the tables against him making a few demands that will rip his heart out. It was interesting to see how this plays out with all the twists and turns the author gives you a very interesting read.

A Second Chance
This one holds the end of this series with old school friends seeing each other for the first time in years. Things didn’t end very good for them after one kiss James leave with no good bye leaving Charlie feeling lost and alone not knowing why he left the way he did. It is time for the shifters to make a stand getting control of their lives back. Coming forward isn’t easy and leave so much open from their old boss to the The Sons of Domnall it seems everyone is out to get them. It was very interesting watching how humans took the news of shifters being around them. The question is can they live together in peace or will they be leaving on group of controlling to another one who wants to the same.

Charlie and James story is touching they have many issues they will have to overcome both seems to be hiding a secret from the other. They need time which they do not have a lot of with humans, The sons of Domnall and the old Alliance trying to get control. This was a very enjoyable read.

A Scottish Werebear Xmas Anthology
This part gives you an update on a few of the past characters which left me smiling. One couple has a big surprise they never saw coming. It is a very short and sweet story that really brings closure to this series. That is about all I can say without giving the 3 stories away.

Mr. Blackthorne’s narration was very good with interesting character voices that blends well with the story. His male voices are just as good as his female’s one. You always know who is talking and what their emotions are. There was one place in book 1, 3 and 5 where I could tell the volume changed just enough that you could tell if you were listening. I am guessing this is when a break was taken. Book 2, 4, 6 and in the bonus story there is one place where he repeated a few words which most likely is another place he took a break. Other than that the volume was very even throughout the audio. There are no background noises this is a very clear and clean audio. Mr. Blackthorne has a very nice voice his normal voice is just as great as his characters ones. I have to say for a man he does a very lovely female voice. His voice did pull me in making me feel comfortable and right at home. I had no trouble picturing when Clarice first sees the bear and feeling her emotions. The narrator does an outstanding job with the passionate scenes really giving the first night of love for each character true emotions. I haven’t had the pleasure of listening to his work before this box set but to look forward to listening to more of it.

For a short story the author put a lot in a little. There are not many fillers with each word having a place in the story giving it a very believable plot with wonderful characters. I love the mystery and how she deliverers the back ground and the history of the werebears. There were some very intense passionate scenes that could give you hot flashes. However I did think a few sexual words did take away from the story in book one which put it a little on the erotica side the other books are not like that but very enjoyable with passionate and lots of chemistry. The author does a wonderful job of keeping your attention with a very good story line. The ending was good and leads right into the next book in this series.

You all know how much I love my shifter romances! Add in that these have a Scottish twist added in and I was in heaven. There are six stories with an added bonus in this collection and I must tell you they are awesome! I am new to this series and I enjoyed it so much that I have read the collection twice already. You know how it is! You have a dozen books ready to be read and more than that on your to be read list so what do you do? You read an old favorite! This quickly became an old favorite for me!

An Unexpected Affair

Clarice Adler  is off to find some peace and finish her novel. Enter Derek McMillan who is the caretaker/owner of where she is staying and whom Clarice thinks is married yet feels pulled towards. Derek for his part has not only never mated but doesn't want to. That is until Clarice comes into his life but he has enough on his plate with his brother being back in town with information on their parents deaths.  This was the perfect way to start this series. The romance is a bit of a slow build up but once it does..look out! I enjoyed both characters and it was very well written.
werebear-an-unexpected-affair-teaser

A Dangerous Business

Aidan McMillan works for the Alliance which is a group of different species that work together to keep all species safe. They are currently working on a mission to stop humans who are attempting to destroy all shifters. Heidi Blackwood is an alpha's daughter who has been sent to work with the Alliance on their mission. Heidi knows who Aidan is the moment she meets him but is confused because he not the same as her. While Aidan may need the advice of his brother to land this mate. I wanted to know more about Aidan from the first book so I loved that he was next in the series. These two really needed one another. The story was the perfect "you can't control who you love" themed. Both characters were once again well written as were the secondary characters.

A Forbidden Love

Jamie Abbott is the leader of the Alliance and met a girl when he was just 13 years old that he has never forgotten. He lost his younger brother that same day and has no idea what happened to him.  Alison Campbell is human and about to be interrogated by Jamie and boy are they about to get a surprise. This book did leave us with a cliffhanger that will lead into the next which honeslty I think was really important. I enjoyed this book and could easily see Jamie's guilt at having lost his brother while paying attention to a girl.

Sugar & Spice: A Scottish Werebear Xmas Anthology

This is a short read that has us catching up with the first three couples. It is a simple holiday celebration where we get three small short stories of each couple. I really enjoyed it and if I didn't have the entire collection this would have been a great tide me over until the next one read.

A New Beginning

Matthew Argyle was kidnapped when he was only 7 years old and his brother has been looking for him since. Matt knows that he turns into a bear but has no idea why and since the woman who kidnapped him died and left him her house he has become a recluse. He likes to keep to himself but all that changes when Leah Hudson moves in next door. Here we find out what happens to Jamie's brother and I will tell you that if I thought Jamie was awesome Matt was even better for me. Him and Leah could not have been more perfect for one another.
Also I really liked that Matt didn't get treated horribly by his kidnappers. After all he shifts into a bear and things could have been really awful!
A Painful Dilemma

Henry Weston works for the Alliance and has certain way of thinking. He has a live in love, Maggie, and while things haven't been perfect they have been alright. Now when his mission changes he knows things have to change and he meets Gail McPherson  who is the perfect partner for him. Gail is Henry's true mate but like I said he already has a mate and well doesn't that cause a problem. All in all this book was a good read but I have to ask
What happened to Maggie?
werebear-a-painful-dilemma-teaser

A Second Chance

James Finch encounters Charlie McAllister, a woman from his past, and realizes that he wants more than ever. Charlie doesn't understand why after being the best of friends James just moved away. She was hurt and now has to decide if she wants to let him back into her life. This one had a great story line but for some reason was my least favorite of the series. I can't pin point any one thing I just wasn't as crazy about it.

REVIEW

This is the complete six books in this collection. I have read them all as singles and I am applying those reviews to this box set.
I enjoyed every single story.

An Unexpected Affair

Clarice is off to find some solace and finish writing her novel. She has rented a cottage for 2 weeks. What Clarice is not prepared for is the caretaker / owner of the property. From day one, she thought he was married but she still felt a pull towards him. Derek has never mated nor had he wanted to until Clarice entered his life. After a horrible storm, all bets are off as to Derek keeping his distance. Also, his brother is back and has news concerning their parents death.

This is a new to me author. I can honestly say I enjoyed this book. It is well written and nothing is rushed. The romance is slow to grow but when it hits well all bets are off and everything is super hot. I would recommend this book if you like shifter romances.

A Dangerous Business

We met Aidan briefly in book one in this series. Aidan works for the Alliance, which is a group of various species working together to keep all safe. Well they have come across of humans who are working together to destroy all shape shifters and Aidan knows they have to stop them. But a little pretty thing might stand in his way. Heidi is the daughter to an Alpha and she has been sent to join in with the Alliance on this mission. When Heidi meets Aidan, she immediately knows who he is but she is not sure she understands. He isn't one of her kind and she has no idea what to do about it? Can Aidan show Heidi that they are to be one regardless? The fates choose whom they want.

But can Aidan keep Heidi safe while they figure each other out?
His brother Derek may be able to give him some advice since he just took a human as a mate.

I enjoyed this book and love this authors writing style also.

A Forbidden Love

Jamie at 12 yrs old was ready to shift to his bear but it would not happen until he turned 13. While at the beach one day with his younger brother, he goes off and meets a young girl and for the life of him, he has not forgotten her. However, Jamie also has no idea what happened to his younger brother.

Jamie is the leader with the Alliance the same one Aidan works for and the ones who are trying to protect other shifters from those god-forsaken humans who keep capturing and killing shifters.
Jamie has a good life and all the finer things in life but he is missing something nothing feels like home to him. What has him so riled up? Could it be his past of losing his brother? Or the girl who had his attention when his brother was taken?

Alison is a human and she is about to be interrogated by Jamie.
Alison is withholding but why? Can she tell Jamie her father has been taken?
Will Jamie figure out why Alison is really there? Will Alison give up their headquarters?
When Jamie meets Alison and they shake well lets just say surprise is in store for these two.
We get a small cliffhanger, which makes us want to read the next book even more

Loved this next book in this really good were bear series!! Grab your copy and get reading

A New Beginning

I find I really enjoy these bear shifter books and this author always gives a well-written story.
This is book four in this series.

Matt was kidnapped when he was 7 years old and his brother Jamie has been looking for him for many years. Matt has no idea about things that would have started happening to him when he turned a certain age all he knows is he becomes a bear and he is not sure why.

The woman who kidnapped Matt has now passed away and left him the home he has grownup in. He tends to stay to himself but all that changes once a beautiful woman moves in next door to him. Her name is Leah and she is starting an online business but becomes obsessed with her sexy, gorgeous neighbor.

One night something happens at Leah's home and Matt who is a recluse must make a decision, which will change things between him and Leah.

This is a short and sexy read. I would recommend starting with book one in this series.

A Painful Dilemma

We met Henry in the previous book. He works for the Alliance, which is run by Adrian Blacke. Henry is having some issues however doing things that he has been handed. He does not want to bring Matt in just because he is in love with a human. What is so wrong with inter-species being mated?
After a talk with his mother, he changes the entire path he once set out for himself.

Maggie is his live in love and things although not perfect they have managed. But something just is not right. Maggie is not on his side in his mission to change things. Why?

Henry meets Gail and all things he thought were right no longer feel that way.
However, Henry is a loyal man so where does this new finding leave him?
What path will Henry choose?

Well grab your copy and get reading. I highly suggest you begin with the first book in this series.
There were some grammar issues in this book but none that took away from the story.

A Second Chance

This book picks up where we were left in book 5. The shifters have come out and they are battling now yet again against The Alliance who Blacke runs. And The New Alliance is fighting back. It's all hands on deck for this one.
James has a surprise encounter with someone from his past and he wants her more than ever. Will she have him? Can she be the help they all need? Charlie could never understand why James just up and moved one day after they had spent so much time together and were best friends.
Can she forgive him?

I enjoyed this one as I have the previous books in this series. I would suggest you start with book one.

Sugar & Spice: A Scottish Werebear Xmas Anthology (Scottish Werebear, #3.5)

This is a short but sweetly hot holiday celebration bringing members of the Alliance together. Derek is determined to allow his mate Clarice to have a holiday she is wanting although he is uneasy with so many on the farm. Kyle has decided to tag along instead of spending his holidays at the Alliances headquarters doing computer work and he will see that it was a great decision. The Alliance men are Bears but each have found a mate outside their own creature. Aiden has a wolf shifter mate Heidi, Derek has a human Clarice and now we get Kyle who will finally find his mate? If Lily is his mate she is human also.

We get three small stories regarding each of these couples. I found it to be sweet and well written. I enjoyed all of them.

I've read these individually and each one got better then the previous. I cant guarantee that their ain't any spoilers in my review since these were written previously.

An Unexpected Affair
Could a human woman become a mate with a werebear to form a connection?
Clarice was cheated on by her boyfriend so she left for a vacation from that and they write her novel, so a trip to Isle of Skye on Scotland. The cottage she'll be in in on the MacMillan farm and a very ruggledly handsome man named Derek runs the place.
Derek sees Clarice the first time and felt lightening. He kept his distance but she still got under his skin and after a week with no touching and a few words, that lightening became a connection. When she gets out trouble, a sharp pain in his chest tells him of his mate's fate.

Cliffhanger, Derek leaves his mate to help his brother on a special day, and just ends, be sure to have the next one to find out what his happening to take a bear away from his mate.

A Dangerous Business
August 16, 2016 – Currently Reading
Review Heidi, wolf, New rookie for the Alliance trying to solve a way to bring down the Sons. Aiden, bear- brother to Derek, never wanted a partner let alone a rookie to help him with his cases to find members of the shifter killer group. This story takes place before, during and after his brother Derek's book. We met him briefly when Clarice was coming to from her car accident. He when back to the farm for more then a family emergency.

A Forbidden Love
Leader of the local team for the Alliance, Jamie Abbot, has been dreaming of only one girl for 20 years. One minute conversation marked this girl by is inner bear as his mate, but she also is the reason his has been searching for the one person he loved and lost that same day, his baby brother, Matty. He has been searching for the redhead that invades his dreams, aging as he does, until his meeting with the informant. He never would have expected 20 years of looking will be meeting face to face in the redhead Alison. She has secrets as the member of the Sons and also the daughter of a leader she will have to decide which side she is one her father and brother's or the man she connected to for decades and fell in love with...
Ends in a cliffhanger, Jamie leaves to find and bring home his brother Matty.

A New Beginning
If you read Jamie's book then you know about the Brown abduction. Now 15 years later Matt is living alone in his 'kidnapper mom's' place in the middle of a quiet neighborhood. Now he is a recluse and lives his life through a laptop, he is a writer for articles, he even buys groceries online so he never steps a foot outside, other then his back yard.

Leah moves in next door to Matt and has her own business, bathroom products. When she gets curious about the mysterious Matt she has to try and meet him, but doesn't get a easy time of meeting him.

Good news Jamie will get his brother back but Matt has to be tested for his ability to keep his bear in when the surge of adrenaline kicks up. How much can big brother punch his baby bro before his bear can be held off, for me this was a a touching moment, they got to get their rough housing in as his test and some quality time for Jamie to be with Matt and helping him guide through this. Something Matt should have had when he was 17.

A Painful Dilemma
It was interesting but I couldn't have a feel for it. Henry finds is mate but knowing he has a girlfriend type mate sharing the same place of work and home. He become more mean in a way towards Gail and separated from Maggie when he convinces himself that he Maggie more because they been together for two years. He don't know everything about his gf because she has a whole different view point then he has and he was hoping for her to side with him. James Finch is doing this for someone he had to leave behind when he was 18, Charlotte aka Charlie. Since the old rules about bears mating with humans was a big no-no he left his mate behind. The reveal happens 10 years after he disappeared but when Charlie watches the only man she let into her heart change on national tv she knew that that was his reason to leave. Charlie will track James down to ask on question 'why' but will her reporting juices be flowing for more of the group of shifters then getting the whole truth from the man she'd loved...

I don't really know how to start this review. I really like shifter romance and normally I am all over new shifter authors, but this one just couldn't click. The author has a great writing style, but since all of the stories are "only" novellas I had a hard time connecting with the characters. Most of the stories were too short to really build up suspense.
Don't get me wrong. All of the stories had good bones, but the body was a little lacking. Some more descriptions, feelings or just plain information would have been great to connect more with the story and the characters.
Also I found the setting was exchangeable. Only a few slang words hinted for the Scotland setting, but the rest was more like it could have been set any place in the world. I wished for more Scotland insights during the story.
All in all I enjoyed the book, but I wouldn't read other novellas from this author again.
I'm now adding my thoughts to every story specifically, so there may be tiny spoilers inside, even though I try to leave them out.

Book 1 - Clarice & Derek (2 stars)
I really wanted to connect with these two, but I couldn't since everything through the story seemed rushed. Aside from Derek and Clarice meeting and finding each other there was no real plot, no story around all this. There were a few things mentioned (bad breakup; dead parents; absent brother) but nothing of this was really explained and the final conclusion for her to fall in love with him and mate him (because you just do this with someone you have just recently met, right?) came just too fast. You could have made more from this one.

Book 2 - Aiden & Heidi (2 stars)
This plot was a little better but still rushed. Maybe it wasn't so bad, because both main characters are shifters and already know all about mating and such, but still. You could have made more from the bones. And there were a few things that really made me want to put down the book. At first the fact that obviously none of the shifters could smell that the other is from another race? That was just not really belivable. Also the enemies were just a little bit too dumb for my taste. They were too easily caught. In the end after the mating I was hoping for a heart to heart with the parents of Heidi, but none came. They were never mentioned again. I didn't like that, because in the beginning Heidi's relationship with them seemed a little strained, but as good as it can be with parents that are a little overbearing.

Book 3 - Jamie & Alison (2 stars)
Okay, this one was the one I liked the least of all the stories, because for this one I wished a longer story. There was so much just explained in one sentence and then accepted by the other person, it was just unbelievable. I mean, I understand where the author is coming from. She wanted to show how strong the mating bond is. So strong that it can overcome anything, but this was just a little bit too fast. Again. I'm so sorry, to have to write it like this, but these were really my thoughts while reading the book.

Book 4 - Matt & Leah (4 stars)
This one was my favorite from all the stories. I could really connect with the characters. Maybe because of the character of the story. Since both of the main characters were/are hermits and got to know each other before everything went south. (SPOILER!)I really liked that Matt was treated right by the people who kidnapped him (/SPOILER). This was a really good story and I love the name of the heroine. But even in this one the end came too fast.

Book 5 - Henry & Gail (3,5 stars)
I can sum up my thoughts to this one in one question. (SPOILER!) What happened with Maggie in the end? Really, I keep on wondering. They packed her in and went on mating, but she is never mentioned again? Nope. Just nope. Other than that the story was good, mostly because it wasn't the insta-mating again, but a bit more of a fight till the main characters came together.

Book 6 - James & Charly (3,5 stars)
Final conclusion if you want to call it like this. I love a second chances story as much as the next girl combined with the shifters background - great. But again, there was not enough time for the story to develop. And the Epilogue confused me even more. I mean, why would A.B. do something like this? It didn't make sense to me.

Conclusion: I hope you can see, that I really liked the bones of the story, even though I didn't really like the turn to the hate/racist theme. That's just not my style. My recommendation for the author is: Go over your stories again. Make the characters get to know each other before the mating. Let your readers get to know them and don't throw the insta-mating in their faces. You have a fantastic imagination, but there are still possibilities to improve the stories.
Average rating from all stories together: 3 stars

I think I won this book in a contest, but anyway, I was pretty skeptical that I'd like it when it came in the mail. So I was surprised when I found myself quickly reading all of the stories. They're not perfect, the time lines don't line up (especially between the first two), they ***spoiler alert*** don't answer all of the questions brought up about the world they're fighting *** end spoiler alert*** and the premises are ridiculous, but these stories were just fun to read. They didn't pretend to be anything more than what they are: unusual romances building in a world of espionage and and shifters.

It's definitely a fun series of stories so long as you don't over think it.

This is about shifters the first 3 books were more romance than the second 3 but all had the same that what you think are humans but they can change in to bears or other animals
You have along with the romance side you have two groups one are humans who will go to any lenths to rid the world of the shifters the second group are the shifters trying to stop the group they have formed in to a group as they realise that as individuals they never win
This was a good complete box set

I love reading about shifters and this collection of Scotish Wearbears is great. The shifters have formed a group called the Alliance . This group protects shifters and is looking for the group called the Sons of Domnall. This Sons of Domnall are a group of radical humans out to destroy all shifters. I love the fact that this is a collection so I don't have to wait for the next book to come out. It takes you from one story to the next effortlessly.

I haven't read Lorelei Moone before but I'm really glad I was able to read this group of stories.

"Scottish Werebear: An Unexpected Affair"

This was a wonderful love story. That love at first sight.
Except neither of them understand what is happening. Derek
knows the feeling as a true mate, but Clarice is human. And
that should not happen, but he wonders if she feels it too. Oh
how i love Clarice, she thinks Derek is a hunk. And with him
as her muse, she has totally rewritten her book with thoughts
of him. I love their dynamic, how they keep trying to get
close without the other noticing. man what a sweet and sexy
book. I can not wait till book two comes out.

"Scottish Werebear: A Dangerous Business"

Wow this one was really interesting. if you have not read
book one. I would there is a back sorry running through the
series of books. And how all the shifters are worried about
a group of killers after their race. The Sons of Rommel. They
are responsible for Derek and Adian’s parents death and
Adian may have caught a lucky break. but during this the
rookie he has to partner with is his true mate while off to see
his brother something happens to her and the bear has to go
save his wolf. As we knew from book one. I cannot wait
to finish book

"Scottish Werebear: A Forbidden Love"

Well this one was more interesting as you go. This is the third
story in the set of books. they are truly something else each
one of these mating as the shifter species are not meant to
be. so they have to hide from the other sisters hand from the
Sons of Domnall here and there and kill all shifters. This
book is Jamie and Alison Story. Alison is human and Jamie
is there and they're not meant to be in normal circumstance
but she also works for the enemy. But as those she's learned
that not all she was told as a child was true. And she has
a deeper secret that they just hurting me more than anything
else. Jamie is trying to find his brother as well during this
story which we hopefully will find the next book.

"Scottish Werebear: A New Beginning"

Oh man what this one tugs at your heart. If you read book
three you know how when Jamie was younger his little
brother was kidnapped. Well this is Matty’s story or Mathew
as he is now. The poor gut doses not even know he is a
shifter. And he has become a recluse that never leaves his
cabin or property unless it is dark outside. That is until his
new neighbor Leah moves in. there is just something about
her. He just does not know what. But now it is up to Jamie to
be there to help his brother realize what he truly is. And how
to control his inner bear. Which he could have done years
ago if they had not kidnapped and taken him away from
them. On to the next book cannot wait to see what happens

"Scottish Werebear: A Painful Dilemma"

I really had a hard time with this one. Henry has been
working for the alliance against the sons of Domnall. But
as things are progressing it hard to figure out which is worse.
The Sons or the alliance. The leader of the alliance is doing
some really shady things like he wants all young shifters
tagged. WTF is he thinking. Even his one secretary cannot
condone some of the things he is doing. But then there is the
issue of Gail she knows immediately Henry is her mate. But
he will not acknowledge it to her. You see he already has a
mate and well shifters mate for life. And he is so confused
as what to do. Heck I was to and when he did figure it out
it moved way to fast. And then they had to figure out how
to stop Blacke. But these books are short fun reads.

"Scottish Werebear: A Second Chance"

What a great end to a great set of books. What a way to
start it off the book, but with the New Alliance. Now that all
the dust has somewhat settled. The new leader James has
taken over and they have decided to reveal themselves to
the entire world. But there is one thing that he did not count
on. That was Charlie seeing the whole thing. But now it all
make since to her why he left the big secret he was keeping
from her. Now she not only has a way to get in touch with
him but may be able to get a scoop for her paper. What she
did not plan on was his touch setting her of fire, and how she
never truly got over him. But when you show a world full of
people that what they thought was stories is real you never
know what wakos will come out of the woodwork. And put
a bull’s-eye not only James but those he loves.

Now before I ruin this for you I will leave off here. I hope you
enjoy this book as much as I did. If you do like this book,
please consider leaving a review. The Authors really like it
when you do; they value your opinions too.

I was given this collection of books for an honest review.
The Scottish Werebear Collection is an enjoyable collection of stories following 7 different Werebears as they find there “forever” mates. Some of their mates are a fellow Werebear, as in “Painful Dilemma” or other species, such as wolves or foxes or even humans. The governing body for the shifters, The Alliance frowns upon interspecies relationships and outlaws exposing ones shifting abilities to humans. Some of the Werebears begin to realize that the Alliance may not have their best interest at hand and form an uprising called the “New Alliance”. In Book 4 “A New Beginning” and Book 5 “A Painful Delimma”, the Werebear and other shifters begin implementing their New Alliance plan in the midst of werebears finding their mates. All is successful and with happy endings for the werebears and their new mates. This collection did include a bonus story and 2 additional short stories which were pleasant added bonuses.

I love these bears. You will too as you follow these bears (two brothers and their extended family of friends), trying to exist in peace, and fighting a group intent on killing all shifters. And then finding out the leader of their alliance is power hungry, and wants to dictate over, and rule, all shifters. Each book can be read alone, but once you read one, you'll want to know what happens to the rest of the group. This anthology brings all the stories together, and many of the characters appear in all or most of them. I fell in love with these bears and their mates, and empathize with the hardships they have endured in order the right to live their lives in peace and safety.

Fated mates forever! Seriously, who doesn’t love some fated mates in shifter romances? The idea that there is one person (or shifter) out there for everyone just really does it for me. In contemporary romance? Not so much, but in paranormals, I am all about the instalove.

This collection is full of surprises. It’s danger-packed and scary at times and funny and light-hearted in others. The collection begins with a story of a human/werebear mating and Moone did a great job of using the heroine’s humanity as a vehicle to explain the werebear world in detail. I was able to acclimate to the Scottish Werebear rules and eccentricities fairly quickly and easily got hooked on the series.

I listened to this collection on audiobook and the format totally suited Moone’s prose and writing style. Due to detailed setting descriptions and redundant exploration of a hero/heroine’s feelings, I think that in an ebook format I may have skipped quite a few pages or even chapters. Not only was the narrator (Patrick Blackthorne) of this collection fabulous, but the gentle cadence of his voice forced me to slow down and take this series for all it’s worth.

Unfortunately, this series had some shifter inconsistencies throughout along with lots of loose ends. At the end of each novella, I seemed to have questions about the Werebear world, an individual couple’s matings or the secrets left still hanging between the specific hero/heroine. As well, the plots of the books felt a lot like sequel-bait. New characters seemed to be introduced willy nilly and some seemed to get their own novella deeper in the collection and quite a few fell by the wayside.

Of course, I liked some of the six novellas better than others. The first novella, Scottish Werebears: An Unexpected Affair, is particularly charming. It’s the least romantic suspensey of the bunch with a lot less action, but the Isle of Skye setting was beautifully described and I found Clarice and Derek’s story to be the most unencumbered by inconsistencies. The fourth novella, A New Beginning, was also lovely. In it, we got to meet Matt, a shifter who discovers his true nature for the first time while protecting his irresistible neighbor.

3 stars for Scottish Werebear: The Complete Collection!

Scottish Werebears the complete collection by Lorelei Moone was in one word awesomeness! So I'm a big shifter fan and I have to say this was one of my favorite series so far. I had never read anything by this author but she blew me away. This collection has 6 fast paced novellas. They have action, suspense, romance and of course steamy scenes. What more can you ask for? I enjoyed each novella but I have to say the first one an unexpected affair was my favorite. This is Derek and Clarice's story. They both are attempting to fight their attraction but fate has other plans. He is a bear shifter and she is human can they be together ?Book two is Aidan and Heidi's story . Heidi is helping Aidan find his parents murderers but can't seem to want something else. They're different types of shifters and don't think they can be together. He is a bear and she is a wolf, can they possibly make it work? Book 3 is a Romeo/ Juliet type of love. Alison's job is to protect humans from shifters and Jamie is the son of the leaders of the shifter alliance . After meeting Jamie ,Alison isn't so sure who's side she's on anymore. Book 4 is Leah and Matt's story. Matt grew up alone and when he was 17 his bear emerged for the first time. He was afraid and became a recluse until he meets Leah and can't stop himself from falling for her. Can he control his bear long enough to make her love and understand him? Book 5 is henry and Gail's story . This was a good story but my least favorite of the six. Henry is mated to someone else when he meets Gail and realizes she is his true mate. Book 6 is James and Charlie's story . This was a second chance at love story. Charlie is a reporter and sees her ex love on tv turning into a bear and realized why so many years before he broke up with her. However, things are not so simple as she becomes a target for those who are anti shifter. So if you love hot alpha male shifters this collection is for you.

Romance and intrigue - a great combination. Each book features a different couple while the suspense of what will happen with the alliance continues throughout. It's interesting to watch the women break through the tough exterior of these bears.

Scotland and all the secrets it has to offer the paranormal community with mating inside and outside the werebears. . .

Now I have to say I may be a bit bias. I have the whole collection at my finger tips with even a bonus holiday follow-up on some of the mating that have taking place. It was wonderful being able to read a new one each night of the week and then have a recap and update all in one easy to touch read. With each being a quick read it made for a lovely adventure.

An Unexpected Affair was a simple dance of not wanting but wanting more. Derek McMillan & Clarice Adler
A Dangerous Business was had two shifters with a similar agenda and two different background. Aidan McMillan & Heidi Blackwood
A Forbidden Love had Fate interven and bring two back together again with a different outcome. Jamie Abbott & Alison Campbell
Sugar & Spice: A Scottish Werebear Xmas Anthology has us meeting up again with the couples from the first three Scottish Werebears books.
A New Beginning brings home the lost and opens new doors. Matthew Argyle & Leah Hudson
A Painful Dilemma sometimes a mating is not as strong and another options is necessary. Henry Weston & Gail McPherson
A Second Chance has secrets revealed, choices made with the beginning of a new life. James Finch & Charlie McAllister

Moone has made the steps easy to follow and easy for you to fall for the romance of it all. If you have began the series keep moving along. If you have not and are looking for an engaging story that grows with each new add start at the beginning with book one of the Scottish Werebear series.

~Complete
What a well rounded complete series. Each novella tells a new story and a quick read that had you read it on its own would be fine, no cliffhangers and they're all their own HEA. But when you read the complete series in order, well just WOW! Plus you get bonus stories you wouldn't normally get :) The were-community as a whole just wants to live a quiet successful life along side everyone else, is it that hard to see and just accept? I thoroughly enjoyed this series! I received an ARC copy via IndieSage in exchange for a blog tour review. Due to sexual content this novel is recommended for readers 17 and older!

This boxset contains all six novellas in the steamy Scottish Werebears shifter romance series; each book features a different alpha bear and his fated mate and includes plenty of sizzling action, irresistible attraction and a happy ending for the couple, while the overarching plot of the series continues. Shifter fans love this series! One-click now to find out what all the fuss is about.

Scottish werebear: complete collection is a series containing 6 separate books that all follow on from each other. As one story ends another seamlessly follows on from where that left of but with a different couple from the series.
I love how the author Lorelei Moone has written the book in this style as you get a new story and romance every time with all there troubles and strife's & history to over come but you never loose touch of the other characters you have previously read about.
This is most definitely a romance series that does has sex scenes but not hot and steamy erotic scenes so it depends on what your personal preference is in regards to that.
My personal taste is more hot and steamy but still a very good read.

Gifted in exchange for an honest review.

I received this box set as an ARC for an honest review.

In this box set we meet all the couples in this series. These couples all have their individual hold-ups that they bring to the relationship, but together they make a powerful force. These couples don’t have smooth sailing when they find one another. However the challenges they go through to be together make the relationship that much stronger.

There is so much I want to tell you about these books but I don’t want to ruin any of the surprises including who each of the couples are and how they work to make the group as a whole stronger. I will say this series will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

A whole collection of books that did not leave me hanging. Scottish Wearbear was a wonderful set of stories about a secret society of bear shifters. Each book tells of individual stories that are tied to last book that you just read. This was my first read by Lorelei Moone and it was a great journey that she took me on. I would definitely recommend it. I am already looking for more books by Lorelei to see what other journey she will take me on.

This audiobook was given to me for unbiased review. I love paranormal romances, alpha males funny heroines, the best. This collection gives readers the best shifter romances all in one. The Scottish flair added depth, and culture. This collection has action, suspense, romance and steamy scenes. This is a 5 stars. The only thing i would say is that the novellas were too short, other then that perfection.

I loved this collection and had a difficult time putting it down to go to bed. The individual meetings between mates was well written and intriguing. The are a lot of steamy scenes as well as danger and surprises galore.
