I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Having this book either read aloud to children, or reading it together both followed by a discussion would benefit children greatly. He demonstrated with his life not only that black persons were very intelligent, but he also showed that one in never to old to stop learning and discovering things.

I really enjoyed this! It's written on the kids' level (I read it aloud to the Podlings), but I still learned a lot. Honestly, I knew nothing about Banneker prior to reading this book. Now I want to track down full biographies and learn everything I can.

This book tells you a lot of how Benjamin Banneker grew up and how he lived a sucessful life. A great book to read

An easy but informative YA book that describes an important man in American history. Under 100 pages, it highlights his contribution to the United States both from his farm and in the land we now know as Washington D.C.
