Amish Christmas Mystery by Samantha Price. Just loved it. Ettie and her sister, Elsa-May are getting ready for a quiet Christmas when a series of knocks happen at their door. Just about the time all had arrived and they were getting ready to eat, Santa burst through the door and announced that there was a dead man on the sidewalk in front of their house. Santa??? In Amish Country??? A dead man in Ettie and Elsa-May's yard???A party that no one seems to be giving???? What else could happen to Ettie and Elsa-May? Quite a bit thanks to the wonderful imagination of the author, Samantha Price. Again Samantha weaves a tale that can't be beaten. Ettie and her sister find themselves hosting a Christmas party that neither of them knew anything about. People just started showing up, with food, and saying they were invited. One of the guests is Ettie’s estranged daughter. Things get even weirder when a dead man is discovered in the yard. And don’t forget the visit by someone claiming to be Santa Claus. Ettie has to figure out what is going on before her daughter gets arrested for murder. These Amish characters are interesting if a bit unusual. The story is a quick read, perfect for the Christmas season when you need a short break from the usual things like shopping and planning. A little murder definitely is a change of pace!
Etie's daughter Myra comes to visit on Christmas because she got an invitation making her think her mother wants to apologize for raising her amish. Amish Christmas Mystery (Ettie Smith Amish Mystery...
I really enjoyed and loved this particular book, storyline, and characters. It's full of serious moments and funny moments. It is a clean read and I would recommend it to anyone. You won't be disappointed.
Earl had so many enemies that it took a snit to unravel this one. It didn’t help that it was Christmas and Santa Claus found the body. You gotta read this one to get all the twisties out if it.
I'm not sure I understand the appeal of the Amish genre after reading this. But I'm willing to try some others at some point. I'll have a more in depth review posted here after it goes live on my blog.
This was another great book Samantha. I kept going back and forth as to who was the culprit, but I had it wrong every time. This is definitely a page turner.
Ettie gets a visit from her astringed daughter... Guess I can say, glad she isn't in Ettie's life more. She would drive me nuts. Good mystery and the trail to finding the guilty.
I never grow tired of Ettie and Elsa-May. They are Amish super sleuths. Murder always seems to find them. I hope Samantha Price will let these dear ladies live to be two hundred year's old. I've have truly enjoyed reading each one of the ten books. . Each one stands alone . Each one of the series books is about ten different murders. Always fun to read.
I gave this book 5stars. It is a book that I highly recommend. I love the way these older ladies work with the detectives to solve the murders. They are two sassy ladies for sure.
