Julianne MacLean. Each one was well-written and enjoyable. Memory House: Ophelia is a caretaker of memories, but she needs to find a successor. Annie finds herself stopping at Memory House, and she finds herself feeling surprisingly at home. Ophelia and Annie sip tea and share stories, and slowly Annie realizes her destiny. It's a magical, heartwarming story. Lady's Man: Annie goes on vacation with her dog, Lady, at the beach to say a final goodbye to her grandmother. She remembers her grandmother's advice to let go, and live a more free, open-hearted life. They meet a stranger, and together learn to embrace the present and let go of the past. This was a sweet, loving story. The Color of Destiny: Becoming pregnant as a teenager changed Kate's life forever. Later her life changes again and she makes a new start. Her life crosses paths with Ryan, who has had his own share of experiences and life lessons. This book shows the importance of understanding that everything happens for a reason and trusting in destiny. It was magical, thought provoking and warm.
According to Webster's Dictionary, destiny is defined as a predetermined course of events often held to be an irresistible power.
MEMORY HOUSE by Bette Lee Crosby is the first story in this anthology. This story takes place in Burnsville, Richmond, Virginia and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Annie Cross has lived with Michael Stavros for 7 years and then he leaves her a note saying he will not be back. Annie misses him, but survives. Some five months later, she meets 89-year -old Ophelia Browne while on vacation and they connect. Was it destiny for Annie to meet Ophelia?
By now Michael realizes that he misses Anna and tells her that he is a changed man. He takes her on dinner dates and buys her yellow roses. Metropolitan Underwriting Insurance Company, where Annie works actuarial for, is being taken over and Kathryn is made boss. Annie decides to leave her job and goes to the Memory House in Burnsville.
Was it destiny for Annie to arrive at Memory House in time to save Ophelia's life? Was it destiny for Annie to find work as an assistant librarian in Langley? What else is destined for Annie?
Bette Lee Crosby weaves a bit of paranormal in this story, and although I normally avoid reading paranormal books, it feels perfect for this one.
LADY'S MAN by Tanya Anne Crosby, is a sweet short story (under 100 pages) that takes place around July 4th. There is confusion about a beach house and whether 34-year-old Annie Franklin and her Chocolate Labrador dog, Lady, get to stay or the fit tanned James Heywood, who claims ownership. Humour, coincidence and destiny add to the enjoyment of Lady's Man.
THE COLOR OF DESTINY by Julianne MacLean, one of my favourite authors, is the third and last story between the covers of this book, IT'S DESTINY. THE COLOR OF DESTINY is also a "stand alone" book and # 2 in Julianne MacLean's THE COLOR OF HEAVEN SERIES. This story covers a span of roughly twenty years and is told from three different points of view - Kate Worthington, Ryan Hamilton and Marissa Smith. Kate tells her story first. Although Kate's story is told from different points in her life, this is not at all confusing. Was it destiny for Kate to live a life with trials and tribulations? Was it destiny for her to become a paramedic? In Part 3 we meet Ryan Hamilton and he relates his story from youth to present day. I wanted to give Kate and Ryan a stern lecture and reality check when they acted recklessly. Was it youth or destiny that caused those behaviours? I liked and admired most of the characters in this novel, especially Kate, Ryan, Grace, Marissa, Abigail and Elizabeth. Their appearances and personalities were unique and realistic. The beautiful descriptive language allows me to smell the ocean air, hear, see and feel the rolling waves and cool breezes while sailing in Chester, Nova Scotia. Did destiny lead Ryan to Nova Scotia to be an emergency doctor? This story is very well written and deserving of all the accolades. Julianne MacLean is an amazing and excellent author and I eagerly look forward to her next book. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romantic novels with a bit of suspense, mystery and some twists, turns and surprises.
Special thanks to Julianne MacLean for gifting me with an advanced digital copy of It's Destiny Three Romantic Women's Fiction Love Stories by Julianne MacLean, Bette Lee Crosby, and Tanya Anne Crosby.

I do not think there is a book Bette has wrote that has not left me emotional. Stories that have me crying my eyes out while at work. So emotional that I can tear up when thinking about them or reading the description. Memory House is no different. A story that will pull readers into a different world. A world that have happiness and heartache. Where the master of fate balances the scale of life.
My favorite character from all of Bette's books is Ophelia. Someone that reminds me of an older aunt. An aunt that is full of love, hope, and happiness with a heart fully of sorry. A person who has experienced more heartache than any one person should ever know. I have traveled with Ophelia in all the stories. To know she has stayed strong throughout all the troubling times.
Annie such a sweet, young, caring, navie person. Someone who believes that she was the person who did the wrong in a relationship when she was giving lies. A person who tried to forge a life out of lies and wondered why paper walls melted with rain. A person who found strenght even when all she had hoped was lost with the wind.
A story that shows how the heart can heal. A story that gives hope to those of use who wonder if we will ever learn to trust again. A full 5 star story.
Lady's Man by Tanya Anne Crosby
I have read several stories by Tanya. I admit to preferring her medieval's over anything. She writes very compelling stories and have entertained me on several cold winter nights.
This story can be read in about an hour. A story that seems to be totally different than the description but then so accurate. I have read this story more than once. I did not forget I read it but it was such a lovely story and it has been several years since my first reading I read it again.
Annie is a person who thought everything was better with a plan. Or several plans in place instead of living life by the seat of her pants. When things go wrong after booking a summer house she learns that life is about taking chances. That it is better to take a chance than to have a life full of regets for not taking that one chance.
Jamie is a loving care-free guy. Someone who grabs life by the horns and enjoys the cresting wave riding in on his surf board. Someone who leaves the impression of a beach bum only interested in where the next great wave will be. Readers will never know this characters full potiential until a few pages from the end of this great story.
This was a story about taking a chance, letting go and knowing that regrets should never come to play in life. A full 5 star story.
The Color of Destiny by Julianne MacLean
I honestly think this is the first story I have read by Julianne. I can honestly state this will not be my last. I can also state the reason why I have not read any book by her. I honestly thought they were contemporary, sexual romances. I was so wrong about this great series. I will change this and go back to reading the first book tonight.
This story has me really questioning things. No I am not questioning the book, just things in my past. It is alright to question the past as long as I do not have regrets, right? A story about lies, heartbreak and coming back to getting everything you thought you had lost.
For several years I have looked for an author that writes close/similar to Bette Lee Crosby. Up until now I have not found that author. I can state with all honesty that Julianne's The Color of Heaven series is what I have been searching for.
Kate and I are very similar in our experiences with men. A man who is not strong enough to accept the past and keep moving forward. A man who cannot let go of his addiction. A man that had rather spend the last 20 dollars on getting drunk or high than putting food on the table or gas in the tank. I really connected with Kate.
Now I am going to finish this review using the Discussion questions in the back of The Color of Destiny.
1. In the Prologue, Kate says ‘I’ve often wondered if a person’s life follows a path that is laid out long before he or she ever takes a first step. Or are we in control of what happens to us?’ What do you believe is the answer to this question, and how much control did Kate have over her fate in the end?
I think a little of both. We follow a path that we are either pushed towards or what we think is right. But we are able to control lots of stuff that can happen in our lives. Kate had full control over her life at the end of the book.
2. In Chapter Seven, Kate’s mother says, ‘You’re only fifteen, Kate. There will be plenty of other boys.’ Do you believe it’s possible for a fifteen-year-old girl to know that she’s found her mate for life? Do you think Kate was foolish to believe this? Why or why not?
Yes I believe it is possible for someone so young to know they have found there life's mate. My great-grandmother married by the time she was 15 and had a baby by the time she was 16. She was married almost 50 years before great-granddad passed. Some people just know. It is no different than saying a person has an 'old soul'.
3. If there had been no ambulance accident, and Kate had her baby according to plan, do you think her father would have kept his promise and allowed her to marry Glenn? Would the marriage have been a success?
No Kate's father would never have kept his promise. He would have lied about making that promise or found a different way to weasel out of keeping it. Kate's father is one of those men or parents who believes that a child should only do what they tell them. A parent who believes they know the best and to hell with what the child wants. A parent who would lie to God just to get his own way. Been there, experienced that and still have the heartache. The pain and knowledge nevers leaves a person.
Honestly no I do not think the marriage would have been successful. Glenn like most addicts start out with a few beers, it then turns in to a case and moves on to whiskey. After the beer and/or whiskey does not provide the numbing or a way to forget life an addict turns to something more. Maybe it is marijuana to start with but then quickly moves on to something else. No matter what I will always believe an addict is not always someone who just started drinking and could not stop. I believe there are some people who are born addicts.
4. When ‘Elizabeth’ makes her first appearance at Ryan’s house, had you forgotten about Kate’s story? At what point in the novel did you begin to suspect that Elizabeth and Kate might be the same woman?
I had not forgotten Kate's story but I was wondering how Elizabeth fit into the story. I honestly thought the temporary tattoo was a way to hide scars on her wrist. I never dreamed Elizabeth was Kate until 'The Talk'. But it I have been up late all weekend reading so my brain power is on the low side.
5. Do you think Gladys met Becky years earlier? What might have happened? How, or why, did Bubba end up with Marissa?
I do not think Gladys met Becky years earlier. I honestly think she just found the bear and put it away hoping that the original owner might look for it. Bubba ended up with Marissa because his original owner lost him.
6. Kate chooses to remember her father’s kind act of making sure that her teddy bear went with Becky to the adoption clinic. Is this a form of forgiveness on her part, and do you believe he deserves it? How did you feel about what happened with her father in the end? Would you have preferred to see things end differently between them? How? And why?
Not a form of forgiveness but a form of letting go of the past. A way to just forget and move on.
7. Do you believe in miracles or real life magic? Or is it all luck and coincidence?
Oh I believe in miracles. Not 100% sure about magic or luck but miracles happen every day. Nothing is left to chance and coincidence is just another name for fate.
This was a wonderful story. I truly enjoyed reading this and finding a new author/series to get lost in. A full 5 star story.
I received an ARC of this book because I have nothing to read.
I could not put this book down! There are 3 stories in this book! All three are wonderful, magical, and powerful. Stories about women who are strong, women who overcome when the odds are stacked against them, women who understand that your destiny is God’s will. These books are sweet, loving, heartwarming, and make you understand that everything happens for a reason. These books will remind you that we should all trust in God’s will for our lives. There are no accidental meetings, God puts the people we need in our paths at the right time for the right reasons. All three books in this collection are beautifully written. All three books will tug at your heartstrings. Julianne MacLean is always a favorite author of mine. Bette Lee Crosby and Tanya Anne Crosby are new authors for me, but I very much enjoyed their writing style. These stories will stay with you long after you have finished them. I highly recommend reading this collection. It will make you ponder why we don’t live a more open hearted life!
I only read "The Color of Destiny" in this anthology, but it was quite lovely. Sometimes we have to suffer the worst to realize the best. This is definitely a story of people being put through the absolute ringer to FINALLY find happiness. (I would have gone 5 Stars, but there was a bit too much foreshadowing in the first half.)
I got this as an ARC. Of the three stories in this novel, I have only read Julianne MacLean's offering, "The Color of Destiny." It has an appealing story and the characters are engaging.
There are actually two separate stories that are tied together, but it's not until the end that we find out what is the connection between them. At times the tales drag on with a little too much detail. Unfortunately, I surmised the ending as I got deeper into the second story and found the connections a little too facile. Finally, I felt that the epilogue got a little too "preachy" at the end.
A beautifully compiled collection of three short stories written by talented and heart warming authors. Each title stands alone and yet together, they are a perfect trio for the most magical time of the year. Thought provoking, touching, warm and most delightful --- you will not be disappointed in adding this to your reading "musts."
These three stories that are different but will make you laugh and cry and tug on your heartstrings
Memory House - I had read this book awhile back as it starts off this series. This is what I wrote as a review on that book: I have always loved Bette's books and this one is no exception. Bette knows how to weave a tale and if you start reading her books, many of the characters are interwoven into various books. I like reading about familiar characters and learning a bit more than I have from the other books.
Annie's character has a lot to deal with in her life including a jerk of a boyfriend. She decides to take a weekend away and ends up at a B&B with Ophelia who can "read" items...she can tell things about what happened to people from items she holds. Annie learns a lot about herself and what she wants with her life while staying with Ophelia. There are some interesting twists at the end with some of the characters, all good though!
Lady's Man - This was a quick read but it was a lot of fun and while somewhat predictable (at least when you have read as many books as I have read it seems that way), it was definitely enjoyable. And don't let the title fool you....Lady is a Lab! I had read another book with a similar start - a rental property gets double booked and when Annie arrives she gets a bit of a shock, the other resident in the buff! It of course gets all worked out in that regard. Annie's character likes to play it safe and she has to remember what her grandmother has told her about taking some chances and living life. She does broaden her experiences with the help of James, the other resident and owner of the home. The story is funny, sweet and romantic all rolled into one.
The Color of Destiny - This story really threw me for a loop with the format and how it was written. But once I figured out the story line(s) and how they mingled, it really intrigued me and I really enjoyed the progression and how all of these story lines intertwined. Kate has had a rough life and I really felt for her and the situation she was in including a teenage pregnancy, a horrible accident and a deadbeat husband. But she recognized that she had control of her life and made purposeful changes. I really liked the last part (it is broken up into 8 parts but not all are individual stories, I think there are 3 story lines altogether) where everything was revealed and you understood how each part came to form the end.
It's Destiny is a collection of three love stories by three authors. The stories are filled with romance and magic...a magic that sometimes is missed in the shattering of dreams and even the mundaneness of life. Each story presented strong characters that meet life head on and in doing so find that perhaps those unexpected circumstances were their destiny all along. Memory House by Bette Lee Crosby combines affairs of the heart, mystery, and charm to bring an enchanting story of the aged Ophelia and the young Annie making a connection that can only be magic. Lady's Man by Tanya Anne Crosby, perhaps the most light-hearted of the three stories, brings Annie to a realization that sometimes all the planning and figuring out of life is just not enough. Sometimes listening and paying attention brings all the fireworks one could want and sometimes you just have to take the risks and jump into life feet first. The Color of Destiny by Julianne MacLean is the most complex of the stories as she masterfully weaves together the lives of several main characters, ending with an unexpected interconnectedness that brings a satisfying closure to the book. Touching on real life subjects of unwanted pregnancy, alcoholism and Alzheimer's brings a compelling relevance to the ofttimes tragic happenings in the characters' lives. Even though one might experience abandonment, blame, and betrayal and even though life is cruel and hearts may be fractured, occasionally and surprisingly, these hardships can lead to a new path that might be more than could ever be hoped for. It's Destiny--stories that remind us not to surrender to regret but to know we can believe in magic and hope for a better tomorrow. I was given a complimentary copy of this book and a positive review was not required. The opinions are my own.
This book is full of love and hope and our destiny I love the last statement in the third story of the book “Sometimes life is cruel, and it can seem pointless and tragic. But occasionally – surprisingly – certain hardships can lead you down a new path you never dreamed possible. Maybe that new path was your destiny all along. And when you look back, you do so with acceptance, forgiveness, and peace. I hope you find the path you are meant to be on. If you haven’t yet, it may be just over the next rise. Or if you have found it, I hope it is everything you dreamed it would be.”

Three great authors and one amazing book. I have read all of Bette Lee Crosby's books and love them all, so when she told me about this book, I was intrigued. I had read one of Tanya Anne Crosby's books and am new to Julianne Maclean's books. The three of them together created one truly amazing book. Memory House is a wonderful story of forgotten memories. Ophelia and Annie team up to form a friendship that lasts throughout the years and allows the Memory House to have a successor just as special as Ophelia. It is a truly heartwarming book. Lady's Man is a wonderful novella that brings Annie Franklin to Folly Beach to say goodbye to her grandmother. There she finds a little more than she expects. Annie and Lady quickly learn to let go and live life with the help of a stranger who also finds what he is missing in life. Next, The Color of Destiny is a book about love and listening to your heart. Kate is young unwed and pregnant. She loves her unborn child and even an unexpected accident can't break the bond that she has with her child. As her life unfolds she is led down an emotional path that leads to her amazing destiny.
All three books are wonderfully written. Fate, destiny and love are the keys to 3 amazing stories that tie this book together. It will leave your heart full of awe and wonder. And have you believing that everything happens in life for a reason. Great Job Ladies. Alone you are awesome but, together you are amazing.
I absolutely love all of Bette's stories and Memory House is the beginning of a wonderful, sweet series. Her stories are always full of amazing characters and so much wisdom. I especially love Ophelia and I love the idea of things holding memories that can be passed on. All of Bette's stories have a little bit of magic and mystery which makes them so enchanting. She is one of my must read authors.
LADY'S MAN
What a sweet story. Who would have thought that an accidental meeting could change two people's lives so much? Annie is a planner and this trip to Folly Beach opened her eyes and made her realize that you don't always have to have a plan, sometimes things just work out they way they are supposed to. Tanya is a new-to-me author but I really enjoyed this story and I'm excited to read some more. One thing I got from reading this wonderful story is that we should all 'listen more closely to the universe'.
THE COLOR OF DESTINY
The Color of Destiny is a beautiful, heart wrenching, wonderful story of love and loss and the strength of one woman who has lost everyone she has ever loved. Over the years, her destiny put her in the right places at the right times to be able to survive and move on. This story was one that I became so engrossed in that I did not want to put it down and I did not want it to end. This is only one book in Julianne's The Color of Heaven series and I am ready to read more!
SOME THINGS ARE MEANT TO BE. Overall this set receives 4 stars. It's Destiny contains three stories from three amazing authors.
I had already read Memory House by Bette Lee Crosby, which is the first book in her Memory House series. While you can read this story as a standalone, you know the story of Ophelia and Annie continues in future books. It is a good, heart warming tale of memories and making a change.
Tanya Lee Crosby was a new author for me, so I wasn't sure what to expect with Lady's Man. What I found was a sweet romance along with a few twists and turns along with an unexpected find.
The Color of Destiny by Julianne MacLean is the second book in her Color of Heaven series. While it is part of a series, this book is a standalone with no cliffhanger. I have read many of Julianne's books, including other books in the Color of Heaven series, but hadn't read this one yet. It did not disappoint me, even though it was a confusing read at times with the way it went back and forth between the main characters.
I was given this book for an Honest review by Julianne MacLean I have yet to finish Tanya's & betty lees stories I just could not wait to review Color Of Destiny By Julianne MacLean Color of Destiny is the second book in the color series, And part of this collection From start to finish it was one of the most captivating stories I have read in a long time, I could not put it down, I read this over night. Yes it was that kind of book. From the beginning it was like going back in time to my own high school day's to the present day life. It is a must read I loved how Julianne incorporate real life events pregnancy of a teen in the 80 Aging with the horrendous decease of Alzheimer's , even Drug abuse 2 of these event have impacted on my life. There are many twists & turns in this story Plans we make never do turn out the way we think it will when your destiny is written
Individually, Julianne MacLean, Tanya Anne Crosby and Bette Lee Crosby made an impression. Collectively, they created magic. While reading It's Destiny, the same thought kept running through my head "Say what you need to say." From the writers to the characters nothing was held back. With Kate, Ms. MacLean took a scared young woman and made her a force to be reckoned with. With Annie, Tanya Crosby showed how even at the most vulnerable, hope and blessings can happen. Memory House by Betty Lee Crosby gave profound advice in revealing that no matter how old we get or how young we are, there is always more to learn. A collection of powerful stories written about and by strong women. That speaks for itself.
I'm a huge fan of "Memory House." Fans of Bette Lee Crosby's work will love how this novel ties in elements from most of her others. But you don't need to have read Crosby's other novel to enjoy this story of a vulnerable young woman finding her way in the world, aided by the kindness of an older woman who has a unique gift. It's easy to love these two characters. "Lady's Man" seemed more far-fetched (even though it lacked the magical element of "Memory House.") This short piece seemed to be leading in a different direction at the beginning and almost lost me in the first chapter. I liked the story behind "The Color of Destiny" but the story was not as well-told as the other two; there was a lot of repetition and needless foreshadowing. Review based on ARC provided by the authors.
It’s Destiny brought us three wonderful stories, all representing some ways that show that maybe there is such a thing as fate. Memory House, which I give 4 stars on its own, was a wonderfully magical story about friendship and love. Lady’s Man, which I give 3 stars on its own, was a fun story about finding love when it was least expected. But I didn’t feel that it flowed nicely, with everything rushed at the end. But it was still worth the read. The Color of Destiny, which I had previously read, was even better the second time. That is definitely 5 stars. There are so many great plots in this story, so many great characters, it’s your destiny to read it!
collection of stories from various authors can be pretty tricky and not always successful. I am glad to say that this collection is from the successful kind. I am a fan of Julianne McLean books and read several books of Tanya Ann Crosby but it was my first time reading a book of Bette Lee Crosby. I enjoyed all three stories and couldn't put the book down. they each were written in a fluent way that made me grow attached to each of the main characters. I highly recommend the book to every romance reader.
1-The Memory House- a story that is one of my very favorite books. A magical love story in a an enchanted cottage. 2-Lady's Man- a love story that has come to be by coincidence, or was it always meant to be? 3- The color of Destiny- A family will finally live happily ever after. They have all dealt with so many life changing events throughout their lives.
The French proverb states: "one meets his destiny often in the road he takes to avoid it."
This book is a dose of happiness straight to the heart. A collection of three women and their empowering tales. Sometimes you need that reminder of the good in the world and not to quit when things get tough. The Color of Destiny by Julianne MacLean was my favorite and I just really admired the main character Kate and how she kept going and kept positive with all she faced. It was a perfect read right when I needed it most.
