Burn It Down

Rate this book
Finn Cooper is living the life of a real life hero: saving lives by day, giving orgasms by night. He’s fairly skilled with both, too. That is until his best friend’s little sister decides she wants him to be her super hero.

Gigi Cooper is not used to holding her tongue. Just wasn’t raised that way; and Gigi wants Finn Cooper. Her brother’s best friend. Gigi is the last Cooper waiting to find her happily ever after, but she knows a secret: hers has been there the entire time.

Can Gigi convince Finn she’s worth the risk? Or will the threat of something real and solid be enough to force Finn to burn them both to the ground?

This is the second book in the series and I thought I was in love with Cage until I read all that is Finn Cooper. This man is just so in touch with his emotions and the history he has with GiGi.. OMG! He's a sexy and beautiful firefighter just like Cage but this story just pulls at your heart strings even more. I love how the story is going on and it's going good no drag just a nice cruise and then BAM twist I totally wasn't expecting that had me gasping and loving the turn at the same time. Absolutely a MUST READ my beautiful bookworms cannot wait for book 3 to come. This is my unbiased and voluntary review

First: FINN. I love you. This book is the story of Finn and Gigi's love. It's got good angst, though Gigi just needs to get over Finn's prior manwhore days and be thankful of the skills it has given him, in my opinion. But she's young, let's forgive her. In addition to the romance and the super sexy scenes, Burn it Down also has a very suspenseful plot and a mind blowing "OMG" that I did not see coming. Love the supporting characters. Hated the villains. All in all, I was quite entertained, heated up, and would definitely recommend!

"It was always going to be Finn and Gigi."

Oooh Finn and Gigi. It's not always flowers and butterflies for this couple. In fact, their relationships is full of pain, mistakes and struggles. Full of insecurities and fears. They're doubting their self when it comes to relationships and end up hurting each others. Makes me want to slap some senses to them. Yup this couple is pretty dysfunctional from the beginning, they don't trust each other, trying their best to push each others away. Yup no insta-love, no sweet loving things, no rainbows and candies at the beginning, definitely frustrating. This couple is struggling to be golden, but that's what makes this couple stronger, because despite those ugly stuffs that happens they're always going to be Finn and Gigi.

This is the second book from Burn series, and my fav so far. It's a bit slow in the beginning and there are some repetitions, but the more I read the more I love this book. I love reading how this couple grows. I like it when a book got me frustrated in one time and squirming from hot scenes in other time and this book definitely got me smile with those cheesy things Finn did (never thought that rough man can be so cheesy). And that twist OMG, I really didn't see it coming, love when book give me a surprise turn.

If you love romance book with a twist and hot firefighters in it, add this to your tbr.
You must try this one. Just read this one.

This book from beginning to end had me hooked. Finn *sigh* loved Gigi, the sex was out of this world and a shocker towards the end had my jaw hanging open. A must read!

4 Burn It Down stars.

Finn and Gigi just can't get on the same page at the same time. They both want each other, they both can resist each other, and they also both have a million reasons why they shouldn't be together. Can they figure out that there is one HUGE reason that they should just figure it out and be together?!?

There is a whole bunch of angst in this book. A whole bunch of naughty bits, and a whole bunch of love. Finn and Gigi tend to be their own worst enemy. If they aren't talking themselves out of being together, they are self sabotaging their relationship because of jealous and insecurity.

It was a wild ride seeing these two try to figure everything out and get where they needed to be. The one thing I can say for sure is that these two definitely love each other. There is no question about that.

 photo D6C10F2E-8739-421B-971E-B67FB4CB9449_zpsksyzmh0p.jpg

There are some fun visits from characters from the last book. Cage and Charli for sure. They both actually play big roles in helping this couple figure some of their problems out. I liked that we got updates on them, and that they were actually involved in the plot of this story not just an after thought.

Towards the end there is a huge surprise and it was actually really fun, because I didn't fully see it coming! The angsty parts in this book were a little bit OTT, but the way they were resolved was actually very reasonable and realistic. I actually really enjoyed it because it was unexpected.

All in all a really fun read, and it's fun to see this authors growth since book one! Highly recommend for anyone who loves angsty love stories, where it takes a lot of work for the couple to find their HEA. Also if you like hot firefighters who love to get naughty!

It's a good thing Finn Cooper is a firefighter, coz that man is smoking hot!

Anyway, I'm getting ahead of myself.

I fell in love with Gigi Cooper (Cage's Little Sister) when we were introduced to her in book 1 & was thrilled when we learned that book 2 would be her story. Smart, sassy, strong & sexy - she's the exact type of heroine I love reading about.

I liked Finn (Cage's Best Friend) in book 1 - but at the time of the first book, my love for Cage had me only seeing him.

Well, what a fickle-pickle I turned out to be!

Finn & Gigi together are just exceptional.
So full of barely contained desire - bordering on addiction - for one another, but they have many mountains to climb if their HEA is in fact with each other.

The pace of the book was solid, though if I'm honest, at times I felt frustrated at the repetitiveness of some of their issues - but the reality is - that's exactly how some relationships are. Until each person can tackle & let go of their demons, they do in fact keep raising their heads.

As mentioned earlier, Finn is just so scrumptious, I wanted to eat him with a spoon. Alpha, sexy, filthy minded (& mouthed) & so totally in love with Gigi it was all consuming.

There are a few fabulous twists and turns with their story that kept me intrigued, and the glimpses / moments we got of the people we met (& loved) in book one were brilliant.

Loved it.

I FLOVE this book!! Bun It Down is the second in a series but is by no way second in our hearts. Finn is a bad-ass firefighter who you can't help but fall in love with and Gigi is a fiery, geeky goddess who I'm pretty sure each and every one of us wants to be. I am beyond excited to be able to see this side of Finn and Gigi, Let It Burn it a very strong foundation for this book but in no way over shadows it. The story line is completely different from the first and will keep you on your toes the entire time. As much as there is a love story happening, there are some very hot, hot, hot scenes so make sure you have something to cool you down after. Dee is going to send you on an emotional roller coaster with this one so buckle up because it is going to blow your mind!

"Book boyfriends are better than real ones."
Finn Motherfucking Copper personifies that line from Burn It Down.

This novel is 5 alarm fire hot.

Finn fell for his best friend's little sister. Gigi fell for her big brother's best friend. Amidst the turmoil that Cage experiences, Finn & Gigi must learn to find themselves...learn themselves...& trust themselves amidst their own turmoil.

Dee Ellis delivers us the sequel to Let It Burn and burn it does because it is just that hot.

How could it not when Finn tells his Sweet Girl:
"You. Are. Fucking. Mine."

Finn Cooper is freaken everything, I mean yes he was most certainly a man whore, but he said why he acted the way he did, but honestly it quite romantic if you really think about it. He never thought he was good enough for Gigi, and tried to fuck her out of his system in order to protect her. It takes real good man to admit when he is not good enough, it's down right sexy. Gigi is such a sweetheart just like Charli doll I adore them! With out I would love to know more about hunter he seems sexy and mysterious turn on!

Hot, hot, HOT! Did I mention this was so hot?! It totally lives up to its title.

My heart. It hurt for these two tortured lovers. I love how their relationship isn't perfect. There's ups and downs. There's pain and jealousy. There's hot and sexy moments, sweet and swoonworthy moments. Loved it!

You're definitely going to need a hose to hose you down after reading this!

"Burn It Down" Burn Series #2 is written by author Dee Ellis.
Published Date: December 17, 2016
My Rating: 5 Stars...

Just wow! I loved this book! This novel is second in a series and the second book released by Dee Ellis. I admit I was both wary and excited to read "Burn It Down." Wary because the first novel was very long and although I was in love with Cage, I had a hard time connecting with the heroine Charli. And excited because I liked Finn and Gigi from the first moment we met each of them on the pages of "Let It Burn." That said...

Finn and Gigi were fantastic in this book. The drama for these two started from the beginning and stayed steady throughout. There were good and bad times. Angsty for sure. Another great addition to this novel was the aspect of suspense which added to the tension in the story in a good way. It was a page turner for sure.

Finn and Gigi were struggling to work out their relationship. It was an emotional journey for sure. I liked that there was an element of danger that stayed constant in the background and at the same time it was an elemental part of bringing them closer. The plot twist got harder to predict and I'll say when the climax came, no pun there ;) I didn't see it coming.

Finn Cooper is a Chicago firefighter. He is tall, blond, blue-eyed ,well built, broad in muscle, intense and as sexy as they come. Hot damn! Finn totally made my book boyfriend list! Finn also just so happens to be Gigi's brother's best friend. In fact, Finn has been close to Gigi's family for many years. When he was a teen, they offered him a home, love and stability. When you read, you'll learn all about why. I will say that Finn's family was not nurturing.

Despite being older, Finn has been in love with Gigi for years. However it wasn't only age difference that kept him from making a move. He believed he wasn't good enough for her. Gigi had a crush on Finn and he knew it. He did everything he could to make her see he was bad for her. I'll say that when you truly love someone, you can see past the bad. You see the real person inside. Gigi knew Finn well.

Gigi Cooper (yes they coincidentally have that same last name) has wanted Finn for years. She wanted him in every way possible. Unfortunately because of the complexity of their own lives and their growing relationship, that was not an easy task. Finn never give Gigi hope that they could be together. At the beginning she believed her feelings were unrequited. In fact, Finn had a reputation of being a manwhore. One night Gigi decided she was not going to watch him take another woman home. She made her move and he was powerless to fight against her. Not after denying himself for so long. From that moment on they secretly started to see each other. Secretly because Finn was afraid of what Gigi's brother, Cage, would say or do if he found out.

And that is where all the heartache and tension begins. Cage did indeed catch them together. What hurt Gigi the most was that Finn didn't fight for her. I won't say more because reading about their struggles in finding a way to be together was one of the parts I loved the most. If I didn't love Finn before, I sure as heck did watching him try to fix things with Gigi. I. Loved. Finn! He especially struggled. His sincerity was intense. He was amazing, patient and loyal. She may not know it yet, but Gigi was one lucky woman.

My heart was weeping over and over for this man. I also won't give away any details of the suspense happening. I will say that I loved how that issue was presented and how anxious I was trying to figure out that bit of drama. I will say that I had some suspicions as to the climax, but I still got a surprise.

Dee Ellis wrote an amazing story of romance and suspense. All aspects: monologue, dialogue, settings, and secondary characters blended perfectly for a well developed, steady to fast-paced novel.

I look forward to the next book which I am guessing/hoping will feature Hunter and Lola.

Still an amazing 5 stars! Dee has gone through and edited this baby and it is still one of my favourite books out there. I am a sucker for a fireman and throw in a sassy woman and I am all over this. While I loved the original story, i do love how Dee has just polished all the pretty pieces and made this story shine even more!

I was already in love with Finn and Gigi since meeting them in Let It Burn! And I LOVE them even more in this novel!! Finn is one hot firefighter! I'd burn up anything just to see him in his gear hosing down shit. And Gigi! Lover of books - a girl after my own heart! When these two are together, flames ignite!! And no amount of water can put them out! They are just that hot together and like all relationships they have their ups and downs as well. You can't help but root for them until the very end especially with the added element of suspense! Dee Ellis sure knows how to keep us on our toes!

Finn is a firefighter and best friends with Cage. However he has been keeping his relationship with Cage's sister Gigi a secret. Gigi has been in love with Finn for a long time and now that she has him she isn't about to let anyone stand in their way. When they are caught together by Cage and she has to hear all about Finn's antics she is upset. But she still wants Finn yet he starts pushing her away. Will Finn lose his girl because he feels like he doesn't deserve her? Or will he step up and be her man?

This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

I have been completely burned by this epic love story. After reading the first book (Let It Burn) of the Burn series, I was really excited for Finn and Gigi's story. The relationship between these two can be described as highly addictive and full of angst, jealousy, and love. But there were also moments that I was really frustrated by these characters because they could never seem to get their acts together. Despite my frustration with these two, the tug of war between Finn and Gigi was one the aspects of their relationship that I found to be highly entertaining and relatable. What relationship doesn't have their fair share of ups and downs? It was very refreshing to see the journey between these characters as they worked through their struggles. As I was reading, I thought I knew what to expect but I would soon find out that some things aren't what they seem. Honestly that plot twist had completely blindsided me!! This was such an emotional rollercoaster from beginning to end. I look forward in reading more of this amazing author's work. This heartbreaking love story is a definite must read.

First I have to say that I am simply amazed at what Dee Ellis gives us in her books with her amazing writing. I've always blown away and so honored when she asked me to help Beta Read her novels. With that being said, this is still an honest review!

This is book two in the Burn Series. In this book, we get Finn and Gigi's story. We are introduced to them in book 1 so we all were waiting for their story, and I wasn't disappointed one bit.
The beginning helped reintroduce the story of Finn and Gigi and how they got together, on the down low. I wish I could Gibb's slap Finn for not wanting to scream from the rooftop that Gigi was his'. Guys can be so dumb sometimes. But that's why this book works so well. Its real, it's gritty and funny along with heartfelt and sexy.

So here's the back story. Finn Cooper is a Chicago Fire Fighter (I know right ;) ) He has been friends with Cage Cooper forever. Cage Coopers sister is Gigi Cooper. A College student who is as much a part of Finn's life because of being BFF with her brother. However, Finn has been a man whore tagging all the badge bunnies while Gigi just waits and watch. Finn has never touched Gigi due to
the bro-code, but one night that all changes. While these two fight their passion and lust for each other, they end up falling into a relationship which is fun, comfortable and sexy as hell. However, they are not sharing this with anyone. So, of course, its a recipe for disaster. One night Cage finds these two together and Finn doesn't say what he should, which is basically claiming Gigi, so what is she left to do...... She walks. I mean can you blame her? However, even her feelings for Finn have gone deeper than she expected, but she's so unsure of herself and her feelings.

I seriously yelled at these characters to get their s*** together, because A.) They are perfect for each other. B) They both want to be together. C) Everything will work out in the end if they give it a chance.
We do get a nice HEA with no cliffhangers. However, Dee Ellis gives us a glimpse into more of our Firehouse boys that I hope she decides to write about next. I can't wait for what next!

Drama suspense sex sin and sass. All big qualities that make this book work. This one is better than the first one of the series. Although I’m still seeing mistakes there were only a few. Looking forward to the next book

***5 BLAZING HOT STARS***

Dee Ellis has done it again and brought some serious heat in Burn It Down!! Holy smokes!!

This is Book 2 in The Burn Series and follows Finn and Gigi. Dual POVs. Can be read alone, but best if series is read in order, as they are all intertwined together.

Gigi Cooper - Young, beautiful girl with a lot of spunk. Kind of a nerd and proud of it. She's Cage's baby sister, and she has her eyes on his best friend. She's so unsure of her future, but so sure who she wants to be in her future. She has loved him for most of her life, but he's not giving her a chance, by no means...until several years later when he finally does....

Finn Cooper - Tall, built, sexy fireman who is known for being with different women all the time. Has had a rough upbringing and a habit of messing everything up. His best friend's baby sister has always been around...and she isn't a kid anymore. He wants her more than anything, and can tell she wants him too, but he's not good for her...so he does everything he can to occupy his time with 'badge bunnies' and make her move on to someone who will be good for her in every way...until he can't fight his feelings anymore...

As Finn and Gigi try to figure out their feelings for each other, they experience a lot of heartache....pride, fear, lies, and a whole lot of hurt makes for a long, bumpy road for them. On top of all that, someone is stalking Gigi and things go from bad to worse. This person isn't going to stop and is determined to get what they want. Will Finn and Gigi figure out how to make their relationship work, despite the past and heartbreaking discoveries? Or will the past, the lies, and the pain, plus the stress and fear the stalker is causing, all be too much for them to handle?

The fire and passion that sizzles between these two is scorching hot and sexy!! They have an amazing connection on a deep, soulful level, and a blazing chemistry sexually that will have you biting your lip and begging for more!! ***READ THIS SERIES*** You will love it!

I really enjoyed this book by Dee Ellis. This is book 2 in the Burn Series ands is Finn and Gigi's story. Finn has been in Gigi's life since she was a teenager when he became best friends with her brother Cage and made a member of the family. Gigi definitely doesn't see Finn as a brother. Finn being a sexy firefighter is quite the manwhore and he has his choice of badge bunnies. The only girl he her truly cares for though is off limits. He has had feelings for Gigi for a long time but he doesn't feel worthy. But living across the hall from each other proves too strong of a temptation for them both. Can Gigi trust that Finn has given up his player lifestyle? Secrets, lies, drama, jealousy, steam, and suspense combine for a spectacular read. There was a major twist I did not see coming!

Finn and Gigi have been in love for years. Finn is the best friend of Gigi’s brother Cage and like a son to her parents.

Throughout the years they sustained from giving into their passion. In the process they hurt each other a lot.

When Gigi decides that is time to stop rating his conquest, they start a hidden relationship. I suffer when Cage caught them and Finn didn’t man up to tell him, that she was his golden.

Finn always taught that because he had a horrible family, he was bad and couldn’t deserve Gigi.

In their tumultuous relationship someone tries to break them apart various times and starts stalking them.

This is an amazing book of Dee Ellis. It was so real that I couldn’t put it down. This book is from The Burn Series. Read first the story about Cage and Charli. Start this amazing series now!!!

I really wanted to like this book…

I really enjoyed the first book in this series and was excited for this one. Look I get Finn was a mess and did some super unsavory things but Gigi turning around and doing similar things, it just wasn’t palatable at all. I actually stopped reading about halfway though and then flipped to the end. Interesting twist but so much of this wasn’t necessary. Hurting someone you love in the way they hurt you makes you just as culpable or maybe even more. I’m debating now reading the third book which is disappointing because I really liked the first book and this one had so much potential. And some point too much isn’t a good thing and this book was too much.
