The Guardians have made their decree. On the next full moon, all magic will be stripped from the world and the gates to the Other closed forever. Only one woman has the power to stop it from happening...
In the most magical book of the series yet, follow Emma's journey through the Other to complete a quest from the Guardians themselves.
Amy Hopkins lives in Australia with her husband, two kids, one dog and four chickens. She’s most often seen (or, more to the point, not seen) hiding in the hammock on her back deck, listening to the local wildlife as she reads a very large book.
Her heroes are Lessa of Benden Weyr, Lady Kettricken and Elspeth of Obernewton.
love the Talent series. Though Emma cries maybe too much, she always manages to do what's necessary to save the day. Her companions are great. Martin and Harrod, her boggart, Lenny her magical dog and her goblin rider. Wonderful! And the subjects dealt with are important from our own point of view. Every book gets better. I am impatiently waiting for the next. The writing is good. The Fae's culture is mysterious enough to keep us engaged with the story line. Excellent series.
🤩🤩🤩WOW 🤩🤩🤩!! Absolutely loved 😘😍🥰 this series. Great characters, a different sort of world than the usually read and mesmerizing, intense situations that kept you reading even though it was 5 am and you hadn't slept yet. Looking forward to the next book.. Definitely recommend this book…
A Promise Due is the fourth book in the Talented series by Amy Hopkins.
It’s a bit annoying that this book ended in a cliffhanger. I was begrudgingly expecting for the story to be wrapped up and finished with this fourth installment. While I do feel relief to know there is more to Emma’s tale, I don’t particularly enjoy the way this book left everything so open-ended.
There were many more grammatical errors than in the previous books. Not just messed up spellings, but entirely wrong words with similar sounding were used often. Like “coughed” instead of “cuffed”. Spelling characters that have been on this journey since the beginning names wrong. It detracts from the story, reducing the amount of stars I could possibly award in light of so many inaccuracies.
As well, it seemed more emphasis was placed on what led up to the supposed crux of the story, than in the climax itself. Which happened to be dreadfully underplayed.
My only complaint is that Emma lacks an appreciation of her own abilities. One would think that she would have built some self esteem with all she has accomplished. Enjoyable series.
This is a series that keeps getting better. The characters are consistent without being predictable and the stakes are being raised without diminishing their previous achievements. On to the next one!
AMAZING! AMAZING! AMAZING!! I cannot rave enough about this series, it is FANTASTIC, and the characters are INCREDIBLE and all the little plot twists and the way everything connects and meets together is just ASTOUNDINGLY BRILLIANT!!! Loved this one, all the way through!!
I absolutely love this story. I can honestly say that I love all the characters, I can't decide who is my favorite. I am looking forward to the continuation of this story and finding out just how Emma and her friends make it through.
