Notes to Self

Rate this book
Our very notion of humanity is interlocked with the ability to feel - empathy and passion give birth to our solidarity as humans. Through our spectrum of emotion we're united.
So why is the darkness taboo when we all feel it? Why is sadness secret?
This is one person removing the proverbial cat from the bag and holding it in stark light to portray the reality of it all - and hoping you find the courage to do the same, in your own way.

*A collection of short poetry pieces depicting the human experience*

This collection is absolutely beautiful! The way Stacy captured the deep and raw emotions just broke my heart and I'm so glad she decided to share it with the world. Its hard knowing she had to go through all of this sadness, but I love seeing the changes and hope over the course of the collection. I think it not only worked its magic for Stacy, but it also has the power to bring people together to share in their darkness too. Thank you for allowing us feel like we're not alone. That things do get better. Stacy is an inspiration!! I truly hope she's working on another collection because I would love more!

On top of all of that I loved the cover, the illustrations, and the few poems in a handwritten font. I loved the visual variety within the pages!

This collection of poetry and musings really touched my soul. As someone who has struggled with anxiety and depression for years, it actually brought tears to my eyes when I read Stacy's book. I know in *theory* that I'm not alone in this dark pit, but to hear my exact emotions summed up by someone else...it really moved me.

I really appreciate how this gut-wrenching collection of thoughts privides awareness about a very hushed-up world. Why is it that it somehow isn't acceptable to openly discuss depression? Why should a "mental illness" (though I very much object to this phrase) be any less valid than, say, diabetes or high blood pressure? Thank you, Stacy Morris, for speaking openly about this issue.

I highly recommend buying a copy of this book! Very worth the read.

Trigger warning: book discusses suicide and self-harm.

Depressing. I thought this would be better than it was.
Much more a fan of Atticus and more positive poetry that still hi lights the ups and downs of life.

Note to Self is a very touching book containing amazing poetry. I believe people nowadays really love reading poems and it's not easy to find good works.
This book really speaks for the author herself, and of course, some of our hearts. It's such a great journey reading this amazing book. It's like been through a different place and story though it.
Really hope you can read this and connect yourself to the poems. They're well written and worth reading over and over again.
