Mostly great information. Good examples of how to either spoon feed, baby lead wean or combine the both ....but the sample menus. My. God. If any baby at 7 months is eating....salmon kedgeree I'll fall off my seat. What even is salmon kedgeree?
Other than that, it is weaning made easy. I suppose.
This is an informative book for parents who are in a cross road, if they are going to use the traditional method of introducing pureed food (spoon-fed) or the new method of baby-led weaning to introduce solids to their baby. Separated into three parts, part one considers the basics of weaning, when to start and what your baby can and can't eat while part two goes through the different stages of weaning from the first tastes of solids to when baby is eating just like you. Part three on the other hand, provides practical advice on handling problems such as fussy eaters, allergies, constipation, anaemia, premature babies and offers guidance for vegetarian babies.
I've browsed through this and tried a number of the recipes and I'm impressed. The recipes are suitable for all the family and the book doesn't preach either the BLW way or the spoon feeding way as best. Trying a mix of both so it's the perfect book.
My pick for the the best weaning book I've read, certainly the most balanced and least dogmatic, and bonus points for having an actually helpful chapter on v*gan babies.
